Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of validity of Augmented Reality (AR)-based chemistry learning media using the Assemblr Edu platform on hydrocarbon material. This learning media was developed through the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Validation was carried out by three experts using an instrument in the form of a validation media sheet that includes aspects of content, visual appearance, interactivity, and suitability with learning objectives. The validation results showed that the developed learning media obtained a validity score of 96.39% and was included in the "very valid" category. This shows that the media is suitable for use in the chemistry learning process at the high school level, especially on the topic of hydrocarbons. With AR technology, this media is expected to improve students' conceptual understanding visually and interactively. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that this media is effective and valid as a means of supporting innovative modern chemistry learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of coconut pulp and seawater compost on the growth of lettuce (Lactuca Sativa L). This type of research uses a quantitative method. Based on the results of the study, the treatment of coconut pulp and seawater compost on the most optimal plant height is the treatment on the 28th day because there is the greatest potential difference in treatment compared to other days and the treatment of coconut pulp and seawater compost on the optimal number of leaves is the treatment on the 42nd day, especially in treatment 5 which produces the highest number of leaves.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how nano chitosan is produced through the ionic gelation method. The process of making nano chitosan is carried out using variations in chitosan concentrations of 1%, 5%, and 10%, and using a magnetic stirrer. Morphological tests were carried out using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) to observe the shape and size of the particles formed. The addition of TPP (Trisodium Tripolyphosphate) as a crosslinker and certain surfactants are used to increase particle stability. Treatment for ±2 hours showed optimal results in terms of a more homogeneous particle size distribution. Based on the results of SEM observations, it is known that increasing the concentration and time settings and the use of appropriate surfactants can reduce wrinkles in nano chitosan particles. The particle size obtained is in the range of 278–350 nm. Thus, the ionic gelation method has proven effective in producing uniform nano chitosan and has good morphology for further applications.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide students at SMA Terpadu Wira Bhakti Gorontalo with an understanding of the copper purification process through electrolysis and the application of environmentally friendly technology in the metallurgy industry. The activity was carried out using a combined approach of theoretical instruction and direct laboratory practicum. Students learned the basic principles of electrolysis, the mechanism of copper purification, and how this technology reduces environmental impact compared to traditional methods. During the practicum, students had the opportunity to apply the theory they had learned, observe the electrolysis process, and understand the results of copper purification. The evaluation results indicate that the activity was effective in enhancing students' understanding of electrolysis and the importance of sustainable technology in the industry. Additionally, the activity successfully sparked students' interest in the field of engineering and environmentally friendly industries.

Abstract

Pemanfatan teknologi dalam pengambilan data geospasial menjadi hal yang penting dalam pendidikan geografi, khususnya dalam praktikum Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG). Penelitian ini bertujuan 1) untuk menganalisis efektivitas penggunaan aplikasi Avenza Maps. 2) pengambilan data koordinat oleh mahasiswa S1 Pendidikan Geografi Universitas Negeri Gorontalo (UNG) serta 3) meyajikan hasil pengambilan data koordinat di lapangan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi lapangan dengan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif. Penelitian ini mahasiswa melakukan praktik langsung pengambilan titik koordinat menggunakan aplikasi Avenza Maps. Hasil keefektifan aplikasi avenza maps menunjukkan bahwa pengambilan data koordinat menggunakan aplikasi avenza maps sangat memudahkan mahasiswa dalam pengambilan data koordinat karena di bantu dengan fitur-fitur yang tersedia di apikasi tersebut serta memudahkan dalam melakukan analisis. Pengambilan data koordinat mahasiswa langsung melakukan analisis pada aplikasi avenza maps dengan melihat peta kerja yang di input ke dalam aplikasi tersebut setelah itu mahasiswa melakukan plot titik koordinat terhadap lokasi yang sudah ditentukan. Hasil pengambilan data koordinat di kampus 4 Universitas Negeri Gorontalo terdapat 6 titik koordinat yang tersebar di lingkungan Fakultas MIPA, Fakultas Teknik, Fakultas Pertanian, Fakultas Sastra dan Budaya, Perpustakaan dan Gerbang Kampus. Kesimpulan penerapan Avenza Maps dalam praktikum SIG dapat meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa dalam pengambilan dan analisis data spasial secara efisien dan akurat

Abstract

This study aims to 1) Analyze the application of outdoor study in Geography learning at the high school level, 2) Identify materials that are often taught using the outdoor study method, 3) evaluate the effectiveness of outdoor study in improving students' understanding of geographical concepts contextually. This study uses a systematic review method by identifying, evaluating, and interpreting all relevant research results related to the research objectives. The results show that outdoor study is effective in improving students' motivation and learning outcomes. Materials that are often delivered through outdoor study include the environment and sustainable development, which are reflected in direct observation of natural and social phenomena. The outdoor study method can effectively improve students' understanding of geographical concepts contextually. This study concludes that the Application of Outdoor Study can be effectively applied in Geography learning at the high school level by providing direct learning experiences that are relevant to the material. Geography materials that are often taught using the outdoor study method are topics related to the environment and sustainable development. The effectiveness of Outdoor Study has been proven to improve students' understanding of geographical concepts contextually, as well as foster social skills and concern for the surrounding environment.

Abstract

Effective geography education requires instructional media capable of visualizing spatial phenomena in a realistic and interactive manner. Google Earth, a digital mapping application based on satellite imagery and geospatial data, offers an innovative approach to address this need. This study aims to examineimplementation and advantages of Google Earth as a contextual learning medium in geography education through a systematic literature review. The analysis reveals that Google Earth significantly enhances students’ comprehension of key geographical concepts, including absolute and relative location, spatial distribution, spatial interaction, and regional dynamics, through 3D visualizations and geospatial data exploration. Furthermore, its integration supports project-based and inquiry-based learning models aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum. However, several challenges hinder its implementation, such as limited technological infrastructure, low digital literacy among educators and learners, and various technical issues. To fully leverage the potential of Google Earth in geography instruction, strategic implementation planning, teacher training, and institutional support are essential.

Abstract

Teknologi geospasial seperti Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG), penginderaan jauh, dan pemetaan digital (misalnya Google Earth) semakin berperan penting dalam pembelajaran Geografi, khususnya dalam konteks pembelajaran kontekstual. Teknologi ini menjembatani konsep abstrak dengan realitas spasial di sekitar siswa, sehingga meningkatkan relevansi dan pemahaman materi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji konsep integrasi teknologi geospasial dalam pembelajaran Geografi di SMA, serta mengidentifikasi strategi dan tantangan dalam penerapannya. Menggunakan metode studi literatur, artikel ini menganalisis berbagai sumber akademik terkait implementasi teknologi geospasial di pendidikan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa teknologi ini dapat memperkuat keterampilan berpikir spasial, analitis, dan kritis siswa, meskipun masih menghadapi kendala seperti rendahnya kompetensi guru. Kesimpulannya, integrasi teknologi geospasial berpotensi besar meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran jika didukung oleh sumber daya dan kebijakan yang memadai.

Abstract

Despite the importance of understanding reaction rate concepts in chemistry, students often struggle with abstract content and low engagement in traditional learning settings. Conventional teaching methods tend to emphasize rote memorization, limiting opportunities for critical thinking and problem-solving. This study investigated the influence of ChatGPT-assisted Problem-Based Learning (PBL) on students’ learning outcomes in reaction rate material. A quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group was employed, involving two Class XI groups at SMA Negeri 1 Kabila: XI A as the experimental group (using ChatGPT-assisted PBL) and XI B as the control group (receiving conventional instruction). Learning outcomes were measured using an essay test aligned with cognitive indicators. Results showed greater improvement in the experimental group, with a posttest average of 78.68 compared to 69.23 in the control group. Independent sample t-test analysis revealed a significant difference between groups (p = 0.001 < 0.05), and the N-Gain score indicated a higher improvement category in the experimental class. These findings suggest that integrating ChatGPT into PBL enhances students’ understanding of reaction rate concepts and supports more effective learning, highlighting the potential of AI-assisted strategies in chemistry education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengembangan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik melalui pembelajaran geografi berbasis masalah ,  melalui penerapan model Problem-Based Learning dalam pembelajaran geografi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi literatur (literature review) dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Problem-Based Learning berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Melalui tahapan Problem-Based Learning mulai dari identifikasi masalah, eksplorasi informasi, diskusi kelompok, hingga perumusan solusi peserta didik terlatih untuk menganalisis, mengevaluasi, dan mengambil keputusan secara logis. Selain itu, pembelajaran berbasis masalah juga mendorong kemandirian belajar, kemampuan bekerja sama, serta tanggung jawab dalam proses pembelajaran. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menunjukan   Problem-Based Learning merupakan pendekatan inovatif yang efektif untuk menumbuhkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi dalam pembelajaran geografi pada abad ke-21.
