Abstract

Pharmaceutical services are crucial in enhancing individuals' quality of life. Pharmacies must adhere to and apply the standard pharmaceutical services outlined in the Minister of Health Regulation Number 73 of 2016. Standard Pharmaceutical services still cannot be implemented perfectly in society, which impacts people's quality of life. This research provides relevant information for policy-making in the health sector and encourages the improvement of the quality of pharmaceutical services in the future. Pharmacy X has been established for 13 years and is in the middle of the market. Pharmacy X is also close to the Kapuas River. Both factors make Pharmacy X easily accessible to the community. This study aims to evaluate pharmaceutical services at Pharmacy X, Kapuas City. The method used in this research was qualitative, with direct observation and interview. This method was used to obtain results regarding the evaluation of pharmaceutical services. The results showed that Pharmacy X had already implemented standard pharmaceutical services. Nonetheless, it would be better if Pharmacy X had a counseling room that was large enough. Pharmacy X has played a role in enhancing the safety and efficacy of drug therapy for patients. In the future, enhancing technology-driven services and improving community access may serve as a priority to elevate the standard of pharmaceutical services. The professional practice of pharmacists in Indonesia is necessary to protect patients from inappropriate services. If pharmaceutical service standards are not implemented properly, there is a risk of endangering patient safety and increasing inequalities in access to health services.

Abstract

Radiasi UV dari sinar matahari dapat merusak kekuatan dan kesehatan kulit. Perlindungan kulit dari radiasi UV, salah satunya dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan tabir surya. Tabir surya sintetis diketahui memiliki beberapa resiko. Ekstrak tumbuhan yang mengandung senyawa fenolik diketahui dapat berfungsi sebagai alternatif penggunaan bahan sintetis dalam sediaan tabir surya. Penggunaan jenis pelarut yang berbeda dapat menghasilkan konsentrasi dan komposisi senyawa bioaktif yang berbeda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar fenolik total dan nilai SPF dari fraksi n-heksan daun jengkol (Pithecellobium lobatum). Ekstraksi dilakukan melalui metode maserasi dengan etanol 96%, lalu difraksinasi menggunakan corong pisah dengan pelarut n-heksan. Kadar fenolik total ditentukan dengan metode Folin-Ciocelteu pada panjang gelombang maksimum 732,45 dan penentuan nilai SPF pada range panjang gelombang 290-320 nm menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Hasil menunjukkan kadar fenolik total sebesar 113,96 ± 2,35 mg/g EAG dan nilai SPF pada konsentrasi 140 ppm sebesar 1,820 ± 0,039.

Abstract

Preceptors are essential in guiding and being role models for students' knowledge, skills, and practices in implementing pharmacy internship program (PKPA) based on experiential learning. Guidance takes place in a clinical environment in a healthcare system that allows students to experience health services, interact with professional teams, and interact directly with the community. This study analyzes preceptors' perceptions regarding their role as educators in implementing PKPA. This study is a descriptive survey with a cross-sectional design using a questionnaire as an instrument. The study subjects were pharmacists who acted as preceptors in implementing PKPA with a purposive sampling technique. The data analysis used descriptive analysis. The results showed that of the 31 preceptors involved, the majority were female (74.19%), with an age range of 36-45 years (58.07%), and the place of practice was in a health center (58.07%). Preceptors' perceptions regarding the implementation of PKPA are generally positive. Aspects rated high with a score of more than 4 are the aspects of recognition/award, teamwork, communication, preparation, evaluation, appreciation, and the impact of student attendance. Meanwhile, the lowest ratings are in workload (3.75 ± 0.84) and facilities and infrastructure (3.86 ± 0.72). Preceptors provide positive perceptions about their role as educators in implementing the pharmacy internship program.

Abstract

Hipertensi adalah penyebab kematian yang banyak tidak disadari. Tanda vital dari hipertensi adalah sistol per diastole lebih dari sama dengan 140/90 mmHg setelah pembacaan berkala. Pengobatan hipertensi meliputi terapi farmakologis dan nonfarmakologis. Penggunaan farmakoterapi obat antihipertensi. Ada berbagai golongan antihipertensi yang digunakan oleh pasien. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui karakteristik pasien berdasarkan jenis kelamin dan usia serta variasi peresepan obat antihipertensi pada pasien Apotek Mitra Banjarmasin periode Februari 2023 dengan metode non eksperimen melalui metode deskriptif dengan mengumpulkan data retrospektif resep antihipertensi. Populasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh resep pasien hipertensi (140 resep) yang diberikan kepada pasien selama periode Februari 2023 di Apotek Mitra Banjarmasin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan jenis kelamin, wanita lebih banyak diresepkan obat antihipertensi yaitu sebanyak 81 resep (57,86%), sedangkan berdasarkan kriteria usia, sebagian besar resep obat antihipertensi pasien hipertensi berusia >65 tahun (34,28%) dan amlodipine adalah obat dengan tingkat tertinggi sebanyak 24,29%.

Abstract

This community service aims to improve the skills of UMKM Labuana in applying production equipment technology and product packaging instruments. The methods used include initial surveys, followed by technology application training, and evaluation with observation methods on improving partner skills in the equipment used. The results of this service show that the increasing skills of UMKM Labuana in applying product production and packaging technology include installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment.

Abstract

The kratom plant (Mitragyna speciosa Korth) is a the plant that is traditionally used to soften the skin. Kratom leaves have very strong antioxidant activity so they are predicted also to have anti-tyrosinase activity. The potential inhibition of tyrosinase enzyme activity is thought to come from the content of flavonoid compounds, polyphenols, steroids, tannins, and quinones. This research aims to determine the tyrosinase inhibitory activity of ethanol extract of M. speciosa leaves. The inhibitory activity of the tyrosinase enzyme using L-DOPA as substrate and kojic acid as positive control. Antityrosinase testing was carried out by in vitro method using UV-vis spectrophotometer through determination of IC50 value. The results of the antityrosinase activity test of ethanol extract of M. speciosa leaves showed an IC50 value of 2117.708 ppm. The ethanol extract of M. speciosa leaves is scientifically proven to have antityrosinase activity with a weak category.

Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen the capacity and technical skills of the “Woro Production” MSME by providing modern packaging equipment and training on its use to improve product efficiency and competitiveness. The implementation method involved training sessions and packaging simulations. Evaluation instruments included observation sheets and interviews to assess the partner’s skills in operating the packaging machine, and the resulting data were analyzed descriptively. The outcomes of this program indicate that participants were able to operate the equipment effectively, and the packaged products demonstrated improved hygiene, practicality, and visual appeal. This initiative is expected to enhance the competitiveness of Woro Production in local, national, and global markets.

Abstract

Kokang (Lepisanthes amoena) is an endemic plant from Kalimantan traditionally used by the Dayak Tunjung community for skincare and wound treatment. Empirically, its leaves accelerate healing of skin problems such as acne scars and wounds within approximately two weeks. This research aimed to determine the total flavonoid content and evaluate the anti-inflammatory potential of the ethyl acetate extract of L. amoena leaves using the protein denaturation inhibition assay. The total flavonoid content was quantified spectrophotometrically using the aluminum chloride method, expressed as quercetin equivalents (QE). Anti-inflammatory activity was assessed by measuring the inhibition of protein denaturation, with sodium diclofenac as a positive control, and IC₅₀ values were calculated to compare activity levels. The results showed that the yield of the ethyl acetate extract of L. amoena leaves was 1.77%, with a total flavonoid content of 143.496 mg QE/g extract, and that it exhibited strong anti-inflammatory activity with an IC₅₀ value of 16.759 ppm. These findings scientifically support the traditional use of L. amoena leaves as an anti-inflammatory and wound-healing agent, highlighting their potential development for herbal or cosmeceutical formulations.

Abstract

Artikel ini mengulas berbagai temuan penelitian mengenai tanaman yang secara tradisional banyak digunakan oleh penduduk di Indonesia untuk mencegah dan mengobati penyakit malaria. Penelitian ini merupakan narrative review dengan studi literatur artikel. Pencarian literatur dilakukan dari tahun 2013 hingga November tahun 2023 yang diperoleh dari PubMed dan Google Scholar dengan kata kunci “tanaman” OR “plant” AND “Indonesia” AND “Antimalaria” dengan kriteria tahun publikasi antara 2013-2023 serta menggunakan Bahasa Indonesia dan Bahasa Inggris. Hasil pencarian didapatkan 24 tanaman endemik Indonesia yang dapat digunakan sebagai terapi antimalaria. Tanaman yang ditelaah berasal dari wilayah Jawa (41,67%), Kalimantan (12,5%), Sumatera (16,67%), Sulawesi (8,33%), Nusa Tenggara Timur (8,33%), Nusa Tenggara Barat (4,17%), Maluku (4,17%), serta Papua (4,17%). Inventarisasi tanaman antimalaria ini diharapkan memberikan tambahan pengetahuan tentang manajemen pencegahan dan pengendalian malaria terhadap ruang lingkup yang luas untuk penemuan antimalaria yang lebih efektif dan ampuh yang berasal dari tanaman.

Abstract

Ekstrak buah naga merah (Hylocereus polyrhizus) dan ekstrak bawang putih (Allium sativum) diketahui mampu menurunkan kadar kolesterol total darah dalam studi in vivo. Penambatan molekul dapat dilakukan dalam memprediksi senyawa yang bertanggung jawab berdasarkan nilai docking. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui zat aktif potensial dari H. polyrhizus dan A. sativum yang berperan penting dalam penurunan kadar kolesterol darah melalui jalur inhibisi enzim HMG-CoA reduktase dalam uji in silico. Reseptor yang digunakan adalah enzim HMG-CoA reduktase (PDB ID: 1HW9) dengan ligan natif simvastatin yang dipreparasi menggunakan YASARA. Struktur senyawa aktif sebanyak 19 senyawa dari buah H. polyrhizus 17 dari A. sativum digambar menggunakan MarvinSketch pada pH 7,4 dengan 10 bentuk konformasi. Proses penambatan molekul dilakukan menggunakan program PLANTS dan divisualisasi dengan Discovery Studio Visualizer. Ligan natif menunjukkan nilai RMSD sebesar 1,5265 Å dengan nilai docking -79,1320. Senyawa 4, dan 17 pada buah H. polyrhizus serta senyawa 36 pada A. sativum menunjukkan kedekatan relative dengan ligan natif lebih dari 95%. Senyawa ini diprediksi mampu menurunkan kadar kolesterol total darah dengan penghambatan enzim HMG-CoA reduktase secara penambatan molekul. Kata Kunci: Buah Naga Merah, Bawang Putih, Vitamin E, Antilipidemia, Kolesterol Total  The red dragon fruit extract (Hylocereus polyrhizus) and garlic extract (Allium sativum) are able to decrease the total blood cholesterol levels in in vivo study. The molecular docking can predict the responsible compound based on the docking value. The purpose of this study is to determine the potential active substances of H. polyrhizus and A. sativum which play an important role in reducing blood cholesterol levels through the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme inhibition pathway in the in silico study. The receptor in this study was the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase (PDB ID: 1HW9) with the native ligand simvastatin and prepared using YASARA. The structure of the active compound (19 compounds from H. polyrhizus and 17 compouns from A. sativum) were drawn using MarvinSketch at pH 7.4 with 10 conformations. The molecular docking process was carried out using the PLANTS program and visualized with the Discovery Studio Visualizer. The native ligand showed RMSD value of 1.5265 Å with a docking value of -79.1320. The compounds 4 and 17 in H. polyrhizus fruit and compounds 36 in A. sativum showed relative closeness with native ligands of more than 95% of the docking score. Based on molecular docking, these compounds are to be able to decrease the total blood cholesterol levels by inhibiting the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme.
