Abstract

The development of a child-friendly tourist village in Cikole Village cannot yet be carried out optimally. The aim of this service program is to analyze the problems that occur in Cikole village in developing a child-friendly tourist village based on the microsystem level of ecological theory. The method used in this service is through focus group discussions. The data obtained were analyzed using thematic analysis based on the microsystem level of ecological theory. The results show that there are several main problems that are obstacles to the development of a child-friendly tourist village in Cikoleh Village, including the lack of a clear vision and mission, no organization capable of driving the program, lack of funding for program realization, and obstacles in mobilizing residents. Some of these obstacle points become initial data that can be used in designing further interventions. Based on analysis using ecological theory, it can be concluded that the problems faced in developing a child-friendly tourist village in Cikole Village occur at the ecological microsystem level so that intervention needs to be carried out comprehensively..

Abstract

The goal of this research was to test the idea that critical thinking skills are related to religious tolerance, which has been understudied within existing psychological studies. To verify this idea, we conducted a correlational survey among a sample of 400 high school students in Bandung who were recruited based on multistage cluster sampling. The results showed as hypothesized that critical thinking skills were significantly and positively correlated with religious tolerance. High critical thinking skills were hence associated with high religious tolerance and vice versa, low critical thinking skills were associated with low religious tolerance. We also additionally examined the extent to which critical thinking skills and religious tolerance varied depending on participants’ gender, ethnicity, and religion. We close by explaining the theoretical and practical implications of those empirical findings, as well as some shortcomings in this research and recommendations for further studies to overcome the shortcomings.

Abstract

A healthy environment is a crucial factor in supporting optimal child growth and development. In various regions of Indonesia, there are still many issues related to low awareness of healthy lifestyles that have not been properly addressed. The strategic role of housewives is essential in maintaining environmental cleanliness, but limited access to information and skills means some mothers are unable to properly manage household waste. This community service activity aims to empower housewives through 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) training. This training is the first step in realizing environmentally friendly villages. The methods used include counseling, waste management practices, and mentoring in implementing the 3Rs in households. It is hoped that housewives participating in the training will develop skills in sorting and processing household waste, and that a collective commitment to maintaining environmental cleanliness with the community will be formed.

Abstract

This research aims to overcome moral retrogression in juvenile sex offenders through the Artpsy Fusion Program intervention which uses Wayang Golek performances to insert culture-based moral values. This research uses a qualitative experiment approach with a pretest and posttest design. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews. The research participants consisted of six children who were children assisted by the Bandung Class II Special Child Development Institute (LPKA). The Artpsy Fusion Program intervention was carried out three times for three weeks. The research results show that the Artpsy Fusion Program is effective in improving moral reasoning in juvenile sex offenders. Content analysis showed there was a significant change in participants' moral reasoning after the intervention, with a shift from immature moral reasoning to more mature moral reasoning. Apart from that, by combining cultural aspects through Wayang Golek performances, it adds a valuable cultural dimension in efforts to improve the morale of young people who commit sexual crimes. Theoretical implications for moral retrogression in juvenile sex offenders and practical implications for intervention in LPKA are also discussed.

Abstract

Abstract

This study was conducted to develop and examine a bystander intervention programme integrated with Sundanese values for preventing bullying amongst junior high school students, namely the Baraya Ngajaga programme. The research utilized a quasi-experimental design employing One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design, which was carried out at SMPN X Bandung, Indonesia, involving ten female students aged 13-14 years from the school's "Agen Perubahan" community as the subjects. The intervention implemented was the "Baraya Ngajaga" programme delivered across three sessions, which combined Sundanese cultural values of Silih Asih, Sauyunan, and Ngamumule. Three instruments were employed to measure the program's effectiveness, namely the Conative Scale (α = 0.790) for behavioral intention, the Affective Scale (α = 0.810) for emotional reaction, and the Cognitive Scale (α = 0.733) for knowledge evaluation. The results showed enhancement in intervention intentions (p = 0.007), while emotional response and knowledge scores were not found to be significant.  Based on these findings, Baraya Ngajaga's pilot intervention showed promising initial results in increasing bystander intervention intentions through integrating local cultural values thus providing preliminary evidence for further development of anti-bullying programs tailored to local contexts.
