Abstract

This study examines the principal’s management in fostering community participation at Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) Negeri 1 Merangin, motivated by low parental involvement and limited community engagement in school planning. Despite the presence of school committees and stakeholder forums, participation remains minimal, raising concerns about transparency and accountability. Addressing a research gap in leadership strategies for mobilizing community support in vocational schools, the study employs a qualitative approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity was tested using source and method triangulation, followed by analysis through data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. Findings show that effective community participation involves engaging diverse stakeholders, such as school committees, parents, alumni, religious and community leaders, youth leaders, village officials, and teachers, in planning and decision-making. Supporting factors include strong stakeholder collaboration, while the main barrier is a lack of parental awareness and interest in school programs. Strategies implemented include stakeholder meetings, majority-based decisions, and formalized decrees by the principal. Theoretically, the research contributes to the development of participatory management models in vocational education. Practically, it highlights the need for stronger communication and collaboration between schools and communities. It is recommended that school leaders enhance cooperation with key stakeholders, particularly the school committee and parents, to improve inclusive and effective school planning.

Abstract

Phytochemistry is a method used to determine the compounds found in plant essence. Phytochemical identification is carried out using chemical substances used in a reaction to determine the collection of secondary metabolite compounds. Indonesia is a country that has various types of medicinal plants, one of which is the leaves of Katang-katang (Ipomoea pes-caprae). Katang-katang is a tropical vine that is easy to find and belongs to the Convolvulaceae family. The utilization of this medicinal plant is one of the alternatives in an effort to treat a disease.  Along the road in the sandy beach area, many of these plants are found growing creeping on the edge of the shoreline, this plant has a trumpet-like flower and is known as Katang-katang (Ipomoea pes-caprae). (Ipomoea pescaprae L.). Empirically, people often use katang-katang plants to treat infections in wounds, relieve pain, and as antioxidants. The active compounds of katang-katang as antibacterial are terpenoids, steroids, saponins, tannins and flavonoids. The active compound that plays the most role is thought to be the flavonoid compound content.

Abstract

Case-Based Learning (CBL) emphasizes effective problem-solving, discussion of specific situations, and real-life examples within a business context. This study focused on cases related to environmental preservation and its impact on business from economic, social, political, and legal perspectives. The research was conducted at Sungai Karang Mumus School (SKM School), Muang Ilir Street, Betapus, Samarinda. The study aimed to analyze the effect of CBL on students’ learning motivation and outcomes. The research used a pre-post-test design with a population of 25 postgraduate Management students at Universitas Muhammadiyah East Kalimantan, employing total sampling. Data analysis used non-parametric statistics with a Paired Sample t-test and the Wilcoxon test. The results indicated a significant improvement in students’ motivation and learning outcomes after implementing the CBL method. Motivated students achieved better learning outcomes, demonstrated critical thinking skills, and applied prior knowledge effectively in problem-solving. This study encourages educators and institutions to adopt CBL as an innovative learning approach.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and formulate integrative strategies for combining Arabic language instruction with moderate Islamic education in Islamic boarding schools as a means of cultivating students who are both linguistically proficient and characterized by wasathiyah (moderation). Employing a descriptive qualitative approach with a field research design, the study was conducted at Al-Ma’arif Islamic Boarding School in Jombang, East Java. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured in-depth interviews, and document analysis involving 20 respondents, including Arabic language teachers, students, and institutional leaders. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, with validity ensured through triangulation and member checking. The findings reveal that the integration of Arabic learning and moderate Islamic education is implemented systemically through four interrelated components: curriculum integration, contextual-reflective instructional methods, the reinforcement of a moderate language environment (bi’ah lughawiyyah), and holistic evaluation encompassing cognitive, affective, and social dimensions. Empirical evidence indicates that this integrative strategy not only enhances students’ Arabic language competencies but also effectively internalizes values of Islamic moderation such as tolerance, justice, and balance thereby positioning Arabic as both an academic and moral-ideological instrument in fostering inclusive, critical, and peace oriented student character.

Abstract

The post-pandemic workplace is characterized by widespread employee disengagement, manifesting as "quiet quitting”the conscious withholding of discretionary effort. Organizations often counter with generic, top-down "loud policies," which fail to address core psychological needs, deepening the engagement crisis. This study aims to analyze the disconnect between employee disengagement and organizational responses, and to propose a actionable framework for fostering genuine re-engagement. Employing a qualitative multi-method approach, the research synthesizes findings from a systematic literature review, in-depth semi-structured interviews with 35 knowledge workers across three industries, and two focused case studies of organizations undergoing cultural transformation. The analysis reveals that disengagement stems from eroded psychological contracts, burnout, and a lack of purpose. Loud policies, such as blanket RTO mandates, exacerbate these issues by signaling distrust. Effective re-engagement is predicated on psychological safety, co-created flexibility, and outcome-based management. Moving from compliance-focused mandates to human-centric leadership is essential. Sustainable engagement requires replacing loud, impersonal policies with quiet, consistent practices that rebuild trust and recognize employee agency.

Abstract

Epistemology of moderate Qur’anic interpretation through the integration of riwāyah, ra’yi, and isyārī approaches and its implications for contemporary Islamic education. The study is motivated by the dynamic development of Qur’anic exegesis which, in modern contexts, faces tendencies toward interpretive extremism, either in rigid textual literalism or overly subjective interpretations that risk undermining the authority of the Qur’anic text. Employing a qualitative library research method, this study analyzes classical and contemporary tafsīr works as well as relevant literature on Islamic education. The findings reveal that riwāyah emphasizes textual authority and transmission, ra’yi highlights rational reasoning and contextual ijtihād, while isyārī enriches the spiritual and ethical dimensions of interpretation. The integration of these three approaches forms a balanced epistemology of moderate tafsīr that harmonizes text, reason, and spirituality. In the context of contemporary Islamic education, this epistemological framework contributes to a shift in educational goals from mere knowledge transmission toward methodological awareness, curriculum development based on tafsīr epistemology, dialogical learning methods, and the cultivation of moderate, tolerant, and inclusive religious attitudes. This study offers a conceptual contribution to the development of Islamic education that remains faithful to Islamic scholarly tradition while addressing contemporary challenges.

Abstract

The Independent Learning (Vocational) Program requires independence and practical skills, such as foreign language proficiency. To ensure that students with disabilities, particularly students who are Deaf (total deafness), can participate in the vocational environment, this study examines the necessary adaptive technologies and strategies. Limited participatory observation in the model trial class and document analysis (RPS and curriculum) were used in this qualitative case study. The focus of the observation was the use of visual media and technology, as well as identifying gaps in existing technological support. The results show that using a learning model is very effective in low-tech visual adaptation driven by lecturers' personal efforts. This includes the preparation of adaptive lesson plans (RPS), captioning, and consistent visualization. However, the analysis found that the high-tech gap results in a significant need for technological support (A4). There are certain communication barriers, particularly in verifying students' spontaneous cues (C1), because real-time voice-to-text conversion applications are not explicitly supported by the curriculum guidelines. To address miscommunication, the integration of real-time assistive tools is a top technological need. To achieve the goal of vocational program independence, adaptive practices must be reinforced with institutional policy mandates that ensure adaptive technology is available and used so that inclusion no longer depends on individual faculty autonomy.
