Abstract

This study discusses various pro-LGBT arguments based on QS. al-Hujurat[49]:13 and QS. al-A’raf [7]: 80-84 and QS. Hud [11]:77-82. Then, the location of their mistakes in interpreting the verse is explained by showing Muslim commentators’ views on the verses used as arguments. To find out the strength and measure the scientificity of these arguments. From this problem, this research will discuss the arguments of LGBT supporters, which are justified by the verses they quote. The method used in this research is the descriptive method and critical analysis. The results of this study can be concluded in several points; First, LGBT and homosexuals have the same conception. Second, the arguments of LGBT supporters seem compelling. Third, the arguments based on the verses of the Qur’an seem far-fetched because there is no strong argument to reject the interpretation of the mufassir. Finally, the partial understanding of LGBT supporters does not reach the essence or content of the verse

Abstract

The Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia compiled the concept of Religious Moderation based on the teachings of various official religions in Indonesia, so that Religious Moderation deserves to be called the middle ideal concept of religion and is expected to overcome extremism and radicalism in the name of religion. The term moderation used by the Ministry of Religion has historically originated from secular (non-religious) culture incorporated into the thinking of Indonesians whose majority of the population has known the term middle with wasathiyah in Islam. This is the importance problem to re-examining whether the concept of Religious Moderation compatible with the concept of wasathiyah in Islam? How is the concept of Religious Moderation of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia viewed from the concept of wasatiyah in Islam?  The research method used is library research with a critical analysis approach. The results of this study include: first, moderation is not the same as wasatiyah; secondly, Religious Moderation when placing itself as a counterradicalism in the view of Islamic wasatiyah has been at another extreme with the dominance of Western thought.

Abstract

The early fourteenth century of Hijra is a new transitional phase for the historical development of Syiah Imamiyah. This can be traced by their success in establishing an Islamic state using 12 Imam Ideology which is based on “Welayat al-Faqih” system. This system is the antithesis of the theory of al-ghaibah al- kubra, which until now has been running more than 1000 years and has forbidden Shiite followers to perform various social, political and religious activities until reappearance of Imam Mahdi. As a result, many teachings of the religion cannot be applied. If this condition  continues, the Islamic teachings will be destructed in the future, so that the bearer of this idea see the necessity for the fuqaha ‘(scholars’) of Shiite who have reached the degree of “Mujtahid” to take over the role of Imam Mahdi in establishing and leading the Islamic State, thus, a guardian Jurist in a country which is built up under the system of welayat faqih, holds a supreme power, who covers the whole territory granted to the Prophet and the Imams. In spite of  saying that welayat fakih included in the category of Islamic jurisprudence, the Shiite Jurists argue that it has a dimensions of kalam, as it also discusses the problem of  “af ’âlullâh”. Eventually, the form of  the State born cannot be avoided from the format of  “Theocracy”. historical development of Syiah Imamiyah. Abstract

The development of political thought of contemporary Syiah 12 Imams is not ended by the discourse of “Wilâyat al-Faqîh”; but actually the mullahs always try to explore and give ideas on other concepts which are considered more perfect. Using descriptive-analytical method, this research tries to reveal the dynamics of the study of Syiah political thought through the appearance of various new concepts initiated by the mullahs of the contemporary Syiah 12 Imams since Iranian Revolution and Khumaini’s lifetime till nowadays. The research has concluded that the political thought of Syiah has not been completed yet since the beginning of its appearance. Hence, the concept of “Wilâyat al-Faqîh” is not just a political theory and the last alternative to build an ideal country during “al-Ghaibah al-Kubra”, but it will continue to develop till comes near to the political concept of Ahlusunnah. This indicates that the political concept of Ahlusunnah is a well-set concept and theory of politics because it has been proven well-tested conceptually and in application, and it is also almost similar to the originality of Islamic thought and the prophetic guidance, and it is very appropriate to be applied in the future. The new ideas of the mullahs will have an important role to get Syiah closer to Ahlusunnah in the political concept after being torn apart by enmity as the consequence of the extreme thought of mysticism which infiltrates Syiah thought.

Abstract

واجبت عقيدة المسلمين تحديات، منها خارجية ومنها داخلية. أما الخارجية فهي سيطرة الغرب على أفكار بعض المسلمين حتى أصبحوا متمسكين بصحة تعددية الأديان. وأما الداخلية فهي افتراق الأمة بسبب انتشار مذهب مفرّط في التضليل والتبديع بل التكفير فيما بين المسلمين. ومن ثم، قدم الباحث بحثه -مع القصور- في قضية الثوابت والمتغيرات في العقيدة مخرجا منصفا من تلك التحديات بإذن الله تعالى. وفي مجال الدراسة الاعتقادية، قد لا نجد بحثا علميا أو كتابا خاصا جمع فيه هذه القضية على سبيل التركيز، بل كم من كاتب بنظريته السيئة يعتمد في بحثه على مذهب النسبية وتعددية الاديان، فمنه لا يجد القارئ تخلصا موفَّقا على منهج أهل السنة والجماعة، بل وجد نفسه في حيرة بعيدة عن حق الإسلام. ولذلك، -مستعينا بالله- قدم الباحث هنا، عن حقيقة مفهوم الثوابت والمتغيرات وضوابطه وتطبيقه في المسائل العقدية. وفي هذه الدراسة، أشار الباحث إلى مؤلفات صلاح الصاوي، إذ هو أحد العلماء والناشطين في الدعوة الإسلامية العالمية، والذي قد رتب المسائل العقدية إلى الأحكام الثابتة والمتعيرة. وهدف الباحث بهذا الموضوع الكشف عن مفهوم الثوابت والمتغيرات عند صلاح الصاوي، وضوابطه، وتطبيقه في مسألة العقيدة، ألا وهي قضية الولاء والبراء. وللوصول على نتيجة وافية، استخدم الباحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، وذلك بوصف وتحليل أرآء صلاح الصاوي عن مفهوم الثوابت والمتغيرات في العقيدة التي وجد في مؤلفاته. هذا البحث من جملة الدراسة الكلامية، لأن المسائل التي قدمها الباحث خاصة  في مجال المسائل الاعتقادية. ومن النتائج التي حصل عليها الباحث هي: 1) أن الثوابت في العقيدة عند صلاح الصاوي ينقسم إلى قسمين، هما: الثوابت المطلقة و الثوابت النسبية. القسم الأول هي النصوص القطعية الثبوت والدلالة ومواضع الإجماع الصريح التي لا تحل المنازعة فيها. وأما الثاني فهي بعض الإختيارات العلمية الراجحة التي ينبغي أن تتفق عليها الحراكات الإسلامية كافة. 2) وأن المتغيرات في العقيدة عند صلاح الصاوي فهي كل الظنيات وموارد الاجتهاد التي لا يضيق فيها على المخالف. 3) اتفق أهل العلم أن الولاء والبراء من شرط الإيمان، فمن يميل نفسه إلى الكفار، أي رضا على دينهم، فهو كافر بالاتفاق. وإن كان ميله لرحم أو حاجة إلى المادية، فقد يقع فيه الخلاف بين العلماء، منهم من يكفره، ومنهم من يرمي بالقاسق دون الكفر.الكلمات الرئيسية: الثوابت والمتغيرات، العقيدة، صلاح الصاوي

Abstract

Kasus kurangnya kesejahteraan, banyak disebabkan oleh tindak diskriminasi di kalangan masyarakat. Karena itu, melajunya suatu interaksi  perlu diatur guna menempatkan seluruh posisi dan porsi masyarakat secara sesuai sehingga tercipta keadilan secara tepat. Pembahasan ini tidak dapat terlepas dari peran agama sebagai pedoman dan negara sebagai tempat seluruh interaksi terjadi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui peran agama yang diterapkan oleh Abdul Jalil atau Syeikh Siti Jenar pada pembaharuan Dukuh Lemah Abang yang dimaksudkan untuk membangkitkan keterpurukan dan diskriminasi masyarakat di lingkup kerajaan sehingga dapat kembali kepada ajaran Tauhid. Dan selanjtnya ajaran Tauhid ini menjadi dasar dari kehidupan social dan politik masyarakat. Penelitian dengan jenis Library Reasearch ini menggunakan pendekatan hermeneutika Paul Recoeur sebagai metode pembacaan karya sastra. Sebagai hasil penelitian ini, Pertama, menemukan nilai-nilai egaliter pada lingkung social dan politik pada pembaharuan Lemah Abang dari cerita novel Syeikh Siti Jenar. Kedua, menjadikan masyarakat dapat mendasarkan tindakan daam berinteraksi sesuai dengan ajaran Tauhid

Abstract

The capitalist economic system according to Karl Marx has shortcomings, according to him there is oppression between classes which causes humans to lose their existence. Then, Karl Marx proposed a solution by introducing a socialist economic system. However, it should be noted that the proposed solution does not concretely solve the existing problems. The concept exists in the theoretical realm and is difficult to implement in real practice. Therefore, an economic system approach is needed that can effectively respond to and address the existing problems. This paper aims to explain the criticism of Karl Marx's concept of alienation as a solution to the capitalist economic system. In compiling this article, the author uses a critical analytical method. The results of this study state that, Karl Marx with the concept of alienation tried to restore human existence caused by conflict between classes in the capitalist economic system. Because, in the capitalist economic system, workers become alienated from work products, the environment, and the nature of their work. The problem in the capitalist economic system is that humans are divided into two parts, namely the owners of capital and the workers who sell their labor to them. Thus, the solution to the oppression of the proletariat over the workers is class liberation or common ownership. However, this is contrary to Islam. Because Karl Marx's idea of alienation is atheistic, contradictory, and unacceptable to common sense. Therefore, Karl Marx's concept of socialist alienation cannot be a solution to the capitalist economic system.

Abstract

Psychology has provided a significant effect in describing human behavior in the modern era. However, despite the extensive development of theories in modern psychology, this field of science still needs to improve in terms of terminology, epistemology, and worldview. One of the Muslim psychologists who criticized this problem was Utsman Najati. This research was library research, and the data sources consisted of primary data sources from Utsman Najati's works related to Psychology, and secondary data sources, namely in the form of books, which were relevant to this research to strengthen arguments and to complement data from research results. The data analysis technique used by the authors in this study was content analysis. The findings obtained from this paper were as follows: First, Utsman Najati revealed the disparity between the terms of psychology and research objects which were limited to behavior; Second, Utsman Najati uncovered the problem of the epistemology of psychology, which limited itself to empirical things; Third, a materialistic and atheist perspective in several schools of modern psychology contradicted the Islamic view of life.

Abstract

This article examines the philosophy of Western pragmatism since pragmatism is considered to be a real threat to human civilisation. It happens because pragmatism, as a philosophy, makes empirical facts and usefulness as the basis of everything. Thus, it fosters a sceptical attitude towards everything, doing things based on certain benefits, and ignoring norms as well as religious values. This study is a literature study since it examines various sources (books and scientific articles) analysed with a socio-historical approach with Kalâm jadîd science as the basis. The study focuses on the critical analysis on the concepts of knowledge, truth, morals and religion of the philosophy of pragmatism. This study shows that the concept of the philosophy of pragmatism is extremely contrary to Islamic values and teachings. Firstly, pragmatism has its own concept of truth, where empiricism and coherence of ideas and reality determine the value of a truth. Secondly, knowledge will be considered relevant as a scientific discipline if it is able to have a direct impact on and value or benefits for human life. Thirdly, religion and morals are realised as actions done according to human will.

Abstract

In the book of Qur'anic Studies: Sources and Methods of Scriptural Interpretation, John Wansbrough gives a very sharp critique of the Qur'an. He argues, the Qur'an originates from the Judeo-Christian tradition and the intervention of the Prophet Muhammad on the contents of the Qur'an. Furthermore, it is understood in the view of the life of Muslims that the Qur'an is a holy book sourced from God without any human intervention. For this reason, This paper aims to provide a critical note on John Wansbrough's thoughts on the Qur'an with an overview of the Islamic worldview. This study is a literature study, tracing the works of John Wansbrough both from primary and secondary sources. The results of this study show the evidence: first of all, John Wansbrough's thought is not appropriate for studying and criticizing Qur'an, because he used the methods of historical criticism and literary criticism. Second, both methods have the same result, namely the questionable authenticity of the Qur'an, as in Jewish and Christian scriptures. Third, Wansbrough's fallacy is based on a wrong perspective on key concepts in Islam, i.e, the concepts of God, Prophethood, and Revelation in Islam.
