Abstract

ABSTRAK             Sistem pertanian terpadu merupakan sistem yang menggabungkan kegiatan pertanian, peternakan, perikanan, kehutanan dan ilmu lain yang terkait dengan pertanian dalam satu lahan, sehingga dapat menjadi salah satu solusi alternatif bagi peningkatan produktivitas lahan, program pembangunan dan konservasi lingkungan serta penggembangan desa secara terpadu. Pemanfaatan lahan kosong atau sempit merupakan bentuk campur tangan manusia terhadap sumber daya lahan dalam rangka pemenuhan sumber daya hidup. Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu merupakan salah satu implikasi dari Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi yaitu pengabdian masyarakat. Melalui kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat terdapat permasalahan yang muncul di tengah-tengah masyarakat sekitar yakni: (1) kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat untuk memanfaatkan lahan kosong yang ada di pekarangan rumah dan (2) kurangnya ilmu pengetahuan terhadap petani tentang sistem pertanian terpadu guna untuk menunjang kemajuan pertanian serta pertumbuhan ekonomi. Berdasarkan permasalahan yang ada dalam pengabdian masyarakat, kemudian terdapat 2 kegiatan bidang keilmuan yang dibutuhkan masyarakat yakni: (1) Kegiatan pertama dilakukan penyuluhan kepada masyarakat tentang sistem pertanian terpadu dengan pemaparan materi berupa konsep, manfaat serta macam-macam terapan sistem pertanian terpadu. (2) Kegiatan kedua dilakukan penyuluhan kepada masyarakat tentang pemanfaatan lahan kosong di pekarangan rumah. Hasil yang diperoleh yakni: (1) masyarakat menjadi paham dan dapat menerapkan pemanfaatan lahan kosong di pekarangan rumah dan (2) masyarakat menjadi paham dan dapat menerapkan mengenai sistem pertanian terpadu yang nantinya bisa dimanfaatlkan pada lahan persawahan yang dimiliki petani. Kata Kunci : Penyuluhan, Sistem pertanian terpadu, Pemanfaatan lahan kosong.

Abstract

Tomat memiliki tingkat kandungan air yang tinggi, sehingga mampu mengalami kerusakan yang lebih cepat. Salah satu usaha yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut yaitu dengan mengolahnya menjadi saos tomat. Hal ini dapat menambah nilai ekonomis buah tomat itu sendiri. Saos tomat merupakan produk yang banyak digemari sebagai bahan pelengkap makanan lainnya seperti bakso dan gorengan. Terkait saos tomat ini, beberapa fakta menemukan bahwa banyak sekali saos tomat yang mengandung zat berbahaya. Masyarakat di Desa Pekik Nyaring Kecamatan Pondok Kelapa Bengkulu Tengah sebagian besar hanya memiliki pendidikan SMA sederajat dan sebagian besar memiliki profesi sebagai petani. Selain beraktifitas di area perkebunan beberapa masyarakat memiliki profesi sampingan yaitu sebagai pedagang jajanan seperti bakso kuah, mie ayam dan lain-lain. Sejauh ini warga masyarakat mengaku bahwa belum ada pelatihan keterampilan tertentu yang mampu mendukung pengembangan diri untuk lebih berkreasi dan inovatif. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat sudah memiliki pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam membuat saos tomat, sehingga dapat mendukung dalam meningkatkan pendapatan. Selain itu kegiatan pengabdian ini mampu membuka wawasan masyarakat untuk menjadi masyarakat yang pintar yang lebih waspada dalam memilih bahan makanan yang akan dikonsumsi, serta lebih peduli akan dengan kesehatan.

Abstract

Critical thinking disposition is an important part of someone's critical thinking. This study aims to determine the differences in critical thinking dispositions of students in biology education based on gender. This research was conducted at Muhammadiyah of Bengkulu University involving 73 biology students as respondents, which is consisting of 19 male and 54 female. This research is a quasi-experimental type with one group. The instrument used in this study was the Critical Thinking Disposition in Biology Test (CTDBT), which is the first test instrument developed to see the critical thinking disposition in biology. The data obtained were analyzed through non-parametric statistics, namely the Mann-Withney test with the help of the SPSS version 20 application. The results showed that in general there was no significant difference in the disposition of biological critical thinking among male and female male and female students, except for the analyticity indicator. The results of this study can contribute to lecturers and stakeholders in making decisions to improve the quality of graduates at the University

Abstract

This study aims to produce a valid and practical interactive module. The research uses the Research & Development (R&D) type of development using the ADDIE model which includes five stages, namely the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation stages. The sample in this study consisted of two types of samples, the first trial I (limited trial) in class X MIPA 3 and trial II (overall trial) in class X MIPA 4 and X MIPA 5. validation test and practicality test. The results of this study are: 1) The interactive module developed in this study is valid, it can be seen from the validation results in the material and media test. The data from the validation test results showed that the results of material validation obtained an overall average validity of 82.8%. While the validation results on the media test obtained an overall average validity of 88.5% so based on this value, the digital-based interactive module product is in the very valid category because it is in the 81-100% interval. 2) This study uses student response sheets to measure the practicality of the interactive module, as many as 94 students of class X MIPA with a level of practicality that is practical. This means that the interactive modules developed are practically used by students. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the digital-based interactive module on ecosystem materials to improve scientific attitudes and students' cognitive learning outcomes developed is valid and practical to use in learning.

Abstract

In general, schools still use publisher printed worksheets which contain questions that are monotonous, not yet a place for students to hone and empower critical thinking skills. This study aims to determine the effect of applying Problem Based Learning (PBL) Student Worksheets (LKS) to improve students' critical thinking skills. This type of research is a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design involving 2 class X IPA as research samples. Data collection was carried out by providing test instruments for critical thinking skills before (pre-test) and after (post-test) learning. The data obtained were analyzed using prerequisite tests and hypothesis testing. The prerequisite test is the normality test through the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and the homogeneity test through the Levene test. Furthermore, the data were analyzed by independent t-test. The results showed that the average score for critical thinking skills for the experimental class (XI) was 80, while for the control class (X2) the average score for critical thinking skills was 68.64. Thus it can be concluded that the application of Problem Based Learning (PBL) based worksheets has an influence on improving students' critical thinking skills compared to classes that apply publisher printed worksheets. These findings confirm that learning, especially biology learning, requires learning innovations such as teaching materials, so as to facilitate students to be actively involved, collaborative, and critical of problem solving.

Abstract

The effectiveness of learning is said to be successful if all learning can be fulfilled. One of them is learning motivation. Learning that can increase the effectiveness of learning and student motivation towards critical thinking skills is electronic learning with the google classroom application. E-learning can measure students' motivation to learn and their critical thinking skills. Students are considered successful when they achieve their learning goals. But in reality, students have not shown motivation and critical thinking skills. This is what makes learning activities less effective and efficient. Students tend to be lazy to think and express their opinions. During the learning process, students need to be motivated to be interested in learning, thinking and understanding the material. It is the responsibility of the lecturer to always innovate in the learning process in order to stimulate motivation and critical thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was an effect of learning effectiveness and motivation using google classroom on critical thinking skills in educational research methods courses. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research (quasi-experimental). The design used is the non-equivalent group design. The research population was all students of the fifth semester of Biology Education, which amounted to 65 students which were divided into 2 classes, while the sample was class A, which amounted to 35 people. The method of collecting data on the effectiveness of learning and motivation uses a questionnaire while the ability to think critically uses a test. Then the data were analyzed using the anacova test. Based on the results of the research through the anacova test, it can be concluded that the effectiveness of learning and motivation using google classroom has an influence on the critical thinking skills of the fifth semester students of FKIP UMB for the 2020/2021 academic year.

Abstract

This research is motivated by problems related to Interpersonal Communication which is still not good at the Education Office of West Sumatra Province. The formulation of the problem in this study is How is Interpersonal Communication between leaders and employees, employees and leaders and between fellow employees at the Education Office of West Sumatra Province. This study aims to explore information about Interpersonal Communication at the Education Office of West Sumatra Province in terms of aspects of trust, including empathy and positive attitude. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The study population was all employees at the West Sumatra Province Education Office, totaling 165 people. Take a sample of 132 people using a proportional stratified random sampling technique. The data collection instrument was a Likert Scale Questionnaire model with five answer choices, namely always (SL), often (SR), sometimes (KD), rarely (JR), never (TP). This research questionnaire was tested on 30 people and processed using the SPSS 26.0.0 program, the results of the instrument were declared valid and reliable. Data analysis techniques use the average formula (mean). The results showed that interpersonal communication in aspects 1) Interpersonal Communication between leaders and employees from trust, inclusion, empathy and a positive attitude with an average score of 4.23 is in the good category, 2) Interpersonal Communication between Employees and leaders from trust, causes , empathy and a positive attitude with an average score of 4.25 are in the good category, 3) Interpersonal communication between fellow employees of trust, cause, empathy and a positive attitude with an average score of 3.76 is in the good category. Thus it can be concluded that Interpersonal Communication at the Education Office of West Sumatra Province is in the good category with an average score of 4.08. Based on these results, the authors suggest that Interpersonal Communication at the Education Office of West Sumatra Province is maintained and needs to be improved again so as to create effective Interpersonal Communication between employees and leaders and between employees.

Abstract

Character education is one of the mental revolution efforts made to instill character in students. Teachers play an important role in producing generations of noble character and morality, including elementary school teachers. Instilling character from an early age is expected to be able to strengthen the foundation in building the nation. The process of cultivating character must be adapted to the stages of student development and the times, so that integrating it into interactive teaching materials will be preferred by students, students can more easily understand the material and have skills that are balanced between science and technology and IMTAQ. To realize this, teachers are required to be able to integrate it into PBM such as teaching materials. However, the facts on the ground show that teachers in partner schools do not really understand the context of character building and apply it to teaching materials. The purpose of this activity is to increase teacher knowledge and skills in designing and integrating character education in digital teaching materials. This service activity is carried out through lecture methods, outreach, training, and discussions involving approximately 17 elementary school teachers. The results of the activity show that in general the teacher already knows the concept of character education, examples of assistive applications in making teaching materials and teachers have been able to design and integrate character education into teaching materials in accordance with the subjects being taught which are then ready to be made into digital teaching materials           Keywords: socialization; digital teaching materials; character education Abstrak: Pendidikan karakter merupakan salah satu upaya revolusi mental yang dilakukan   untuk menanamkan karakter pada siswa. Guru memegang peranan penting dalam menghasilkan generasi yang berkarakter dan berakhlak mulia, tidak terkecuali guru SD. Penanaman karakter sejak usia dini diharapkan mampu memperkuat pondasi dalam membangun bangsa. Proses   penanaman karakter harus disesuaikan dengan tahap perkembangan siswa dan perkembangan zaman, sehingga mengintegrasikannya ke dalam bahan ajar interaktif akan lebih disukai siswa, siswa lebih mudah memahami materi dan memiliki keterampilan yang seimbang antara IPTEK dan IMTAQ. Untuk mewujudkan hal ini guru dituntut mampu mengintergasikannya ke dalam PBM seperti bahan ajar. Namun, fakta dilapangan menunjukkan bahwa guru-guru di sekolah mitra belum terlalu memahami konteks pendidikan karakter serta menerapkannya ke dalam bahan ajar. Tujuan kegiatan ini yaitu meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru dalam mendesain serta mengintegrasikan pendidikan karakter dalam bahan ajar digital. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan melalui metode ceramah, sosialisasi, pelatihan, dan diskusi dengan melibatkan lebih kurang 17 orang guru SD. Adapun hasil kegiatan menunjukkan secara garis besar guru sudah mengetahui konsep pendidikan karakter, contoh aplikasi bantu dalam membuat bahan ajar dan guru telah mampu mendesain serta mengintegrasikan pendidikan karakter ke dalam bahan ajar sesuai dengan mata pelajaran yang diampu yang kemudian siap untuk dibuat ke dalam bahan ajar digital.Kata kunci: sosialisasi; bahan ajar digital; pendidikan karakter

Abstract

Pengabdian ini telah dilaksanakan pada tanggal 2 September  2019 di Desa Suro Lembak. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk : 1) Menjelaskan pengertian diabetes mellitus, 2) Menyebutkan tipe diabetes mellitus, 3)Menyebutkan penyebab diabetes mellitus, 4)  Menyebutkan faktor resiko diabetes mellitus, dan 5) Menyebutkan tanda dan gejala dari diabetes mellitus. Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah meningkatkan kesadaran peduli menanam pohon produktif dan mengaplikasikan teknologi hijau penanaman bibit pohon buah untuk konservasi lahan ekowisata air terjun di Desa Wisata Penembang, Kabupaten Bengkulu Tengah. Manfaat secara lingkungan hidup, adalah keberlanjutan air terjun sebagai dampak positif  terjaganya tanaman buah di sekitar kawasan wisata, sedangkan manfaat ekonomi adalah akan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat desa sekitar kawasan wisata air terjun, dan meningkatkan kerjasama sinergi antar lembaga perguruan tinggi dengan masyarakat desa. Permasalahan prioritas mitra adalah kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat untuk merawat hutan dan praktek konservasi lahan di lahan budidaya, sehingga berakibat menurunnya debit air terjun sebagai daya tarik utama kawasan wisata desa ini. Metode kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan diawali malakukan  assesment untuk mengetahui kebutuhan masyarakat dan potensi lokal yang dimiliki desa. Kemudian menyusun perencanaan alternatif program atau kegiatan yang dapat dilakukan dan menyusun formulasi rencana aksi dengan partisipasi aktif masyarakat. Dilanjutkan dengan implementasi pelaksanaan program yaitu : pertama, melakukan sosialisasi penyuluhan tentang pentingnya pemanfaatan lahan, pentingnya gerakan penanaman pohon, dan manfaat penanaman pohon secara ekonomis.  Kedua pengadaan seribu bibit pohon buah-buahan, dilanjutkan kegiatan pendampingan secara langsung yaitu melakukan penanaman pohon bersama masyarakat. Tahap akhir adalah melakukan evaluasi dengan melibatkan masyarakat untuk melakukan monitoring dan evaluasi pelaksanaan program. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini yang dilakukan oleh beberapa dosen Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu yaitu melakukan penyuluhan kepada aparatur perangkat desa dan sebagian masyarakat di sekitar kawasan air terjun, melakukan penanamn seribu bibit pohon beranekaragam buah di sekitar kawasan wisata air terjun desa Penembang, yang telah dilaksanakan pada tanggal 05 November 2022, dan dilanjutkan dengan pendampingan kepada masyarakat. Masyarakat memberikan respon positif terhadap seluruh kegiatan ini dan terlihat adanya peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat untuk menjaga lingkungan hutan dan lingkungan kawasan wisata air terjun, adanya kebersamaan dalam penanaman seribu pohon buah di kawasan wisata air terjun, serta peningkatan kepedulian dalam merawat tanaman di lahan budidaya dan memelihara kawasan hutan.  Kata Kunci : Konservasi Lahan, Ekowisata, Penanaman Pohon, Desa Wisata, Bengkulu.
