Abstract

A person's critical thinking style will determine the extent of critical thinking skills. This study examines differences in the critical thinking styles of biology teacher candidates based on academic level. The method applied in this study is non-experimental with a comparative design. The instrument used was the Yanpiaw Creative-Critical Style Test, which was given to several prospective biology teacher students from semester 2, semester 4, semester 6, and semester 8 as respondents. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the average critical thinking style between students in semester 2 and semester 6 (sig. 0.011 < 0.05) and between semester 2 and semester 8 (sig. 0.029 < 0.05). Based on the findings, it can be concluded that academic level or level does not always affect a person's critical thinking style. However, it is also possible due to academic majors, behavior style, and ethnicity (culture). Therefore, an educator needs to provide learning methods and media that can support the development of students' critical thinking styles.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using the quizizz application and google form on student motivation, determine the effect of using the quizizz application and google form on students' cognitive learning outcomes in the subject of the human respiratory system for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 11 Kaur. This type of research is Quasi-Experimental (Pseudo-Experimental). The research design used in this study is nonequivalent control group design. The data analysis technique used to test the hypothesis in this study is the independent sample t-test. The results showed that there was a significant effect of the use of the Quizizz application and Google Form on student motivation and there was a significant effect of the use of the Quizizz application and Google Form on students' cognitive learning outcomes in the material on the respiratory system in humans compared to the control class. The motivation for using the Quizizz Application and Google Form is better than the control class. This can be seen from the average score of students' motivation using the Quizizz application 82.1, Google Form 75.24 and the control class 58.33, while judging from the cognitive learning outcomes of students using Quizizz application 81.66, Google Form 71.66 and control class 58.33. From the results of this study it can be concluded that the use of the Quizizz and Google Form applications in the experimental class is better than the control class which uses conventional media.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Kepadatan Keong Mas (Pomacea canaliculata) Yang Terdapat Diarea Persawahan Selgan Raya Kabupaten Mukomuko. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan area persawahan Kecamatan Selagan Raya Kabupaten Mukomuko pada bulan Maret- April 2018. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Metode survey langsung ke lokasi. dengan teknik pengambilan data menggunakan plot dan ukuran masing-masing plot 2 x 2 dengan jumlah plot 30, menggunakan metode Purposive Sampling kemudian dilakukan awetan basah untuk identifikasi di laboratorium. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan ditemukan Ordo Mesogastropoda, famili (Ampullaridae). Dari hasil penelitian yang didapatkan nilai kepadatan keong mas (Pomacea canaliculata) yaitu 3,27 individu/m2. Sedangkan Faktor ekologi yang meliputi suhu air dan derajat keasaman. Suhu air pada daerah persawahan berkisar antara 270C- 290C, sedangkan derajat keasaman (pH) air diperoleh data yaitu 6-7.Kata kunci: Kepadatan Keong Mas (Pomacea canaliculata)

Abstract

Kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi mau tidak mau telah merubah paradigma dunia pendidikan khususnya dalam proses belajar mengajar di kelas. Proses pembelajaran saat ini dituntut untuk relevan dengan kemajuan zaman, sehingga dapat menciptakan pembelajaran yang berkualitas. Dengan demikian sebagai orang yang memiliki peran penting dalam keberhasilan pembelajaran, guru harus mampu merespon perubahan global ini dengan baik, misalnya dengan menyediakan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi. Tidak dapat dipungkiri bahwa fakta di lapangan masih banyak ditemukan guru yang belum melek teknologi, sebagai salah satu bentuk upaya mengatasi tantangan tersebut adalah dilakukan pelatihan dan workshop pemanfaatan media pembelajaran interaktif bagi guru-guru. Pelatihan dilakukan selama dua hari melalui metode ceramah, diskusi dan pelatihan (praktik) pembuatan media pembelajaran interaktif. Hasil dari kegiatan pelatihan menunjukkan: 1) peserta aktif mendengar dan berdiskusi terkait materi yang disampaikan, 2) peserta sangat antusias dalam mengikuti pelatihan praktik membuat media pembelajaran interaktif. Selain itu, selama pelatihan berlangsung ada beberapa kendala yang dihadapi, di antaranya yaitu peserta belum terbiasa memanfaatkan teknologi dan keterbatasan waktu. Berdasarkan hasil ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa peserta sudah mampu membuat media pembelajaran interaktif, hanya saja beberapa guru memerlukan waktu lebih banyak untuk memperoleh hasil yang lebih baik.

Abstract

Some experts say that critical thinking disposition is a predictor of a person's critical thinking skills. The objective of this study is to assess the extent to which students possess critical thinking disposition, in order to forecast their critical thinking abilities in the context of biology education. This study employed descriptive research using a qualitative methodology, involving 74 students from 2 classes as respondents. The instrument used is CTDBT which includes 7 indicators namely Truth-seeking, Open-mind, Analycity, Systematicity, Self-confidence, Inquisitiveness, and Maturity. The results show that students have critical thinking dispositions in the weak category for maturity indicators, medium categories for indicators of open-mindedness, analyticity, systematicity, and self-confidence, and high categories for indicators of truth-seeking and inquisitiveness. Students at the senior high school level generally have a high curiosity and are always eager to prove the truth of something, but they still seem rushed, vulnerable, and unstable, so they require the development of skills and maturity in making decisions to solve problems.

Abstract

SD Negeri 140 Seluma has a relatively large number of human resources, both teachers and students. However, this is also a challenge for partner schools where some of the problems that are often faced are the lack of knowledge and competence of teachers in providing digital teaching materials to facilitate differentiated learning, which impacts the formation of students' character optimally. This training and mentoring is an effort to improve teacher knowledge and competence in providing teaching materials. This activity involved 30 teachers through two methods, namely: socialization, training and mentoring (the practice of making AI-based learning videos). The activity results showed that all participants experienced an increase in understanding related to the concept of digital teaching materials and increased competence in making AI-based learning videos. This is evidenced by the products that have been produced by the training participants. Keywords: artificial intelligence; digital teaching materials; training;  accompaniment SD Negeri 140 Seluma memiliki SDM dengan jumlah yang relatif banyak baik guru maupun peserta didik. Namun, hal ini sekaligus menjadi tantangan bagi sekolah SD Negeri 140 Seluma  dimana beberapa permasalahan yang seringkali dihadapi yaitu masih minimnya pengetahuan dan kompetensi guru dalam menyediakan bahan ajar digital untuk memfasilitasi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi, sehingga berdampak pada pembentukan karakter peserta didik secara optimal. Pelatihan dan pendampingan ini merupakan upaya yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kompetensi guru dalam menyediakan bahan ajar. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 30 orang guru melalui dua metode yaitu: sosialisasi, pelatihan dan pendampingan (praktik pembuatan video pembelajaran berbasis AI). Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta dalam memproduksi video pembelajaran berbasis AI, yang dibuktikan melalui produk video yang dihasilkan.  Kata kunci: artificial Intelligence; bahan ajar digital; pelatihan; pendampingan

Abstract

Local wisdom-based interactive digital module are alternative teaching materials to facilitate meaningful learning and experience, to stimulate the use of thinking skills including critical thinking dispositions. This study applied quasi-experimental design with pretest and posttest control group. Respondents involved in this study were 109 students from senior high school in Bengkulu, Indonesia. The class selection was carried out randomly to determine the interactive digital module class (X1), the e-module class (X2), and the control class (K). Students’ critical thinking dispositions were measured through the Critical Thinking Disposition in Biology Test (CTDBT) instrument which included 10 questions for each of the seven disposition indicators. The data were analyzed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, Levene test, one-way ANOVA test, and LSD. After the data were known to be normally distributed and homogeneous, an ANOVA test was carried out with the result that there was a significant difference in the experimental class and the control class on students’ critical thinking disposition scores, namely 0.008<0.05. This showed that interactive module improve students’ critical thinking dispositions, compared to e-module and control classes. The critical thinking disposition which increased significantly was shown in the truth-seeking indicator. However, the e-module class did not differ significantly from the control class in improving students’ critical thinking dispositions. Therefore, teachers can use local wisdom-based interactive digital module in biology learning.

Abstract

Salah satu cabang ilmu biologi yang dibakukan menjadi mata kuliah wajib bagi mahasiswa Program studi Teknologi Laboratorium Medis adalah Entomologi. Pada mata kuliah Entomologi mempelajari tentang serangga dan segala hal yang mencakup tentang kehidupan serangga, mulai dari struktur serangga, anatomi dan fisiologi serangga, morfologi, hingga tingkah laku serangga. Salah satunya adalah nyamuk Aedes aegypti. Nyamuk Aedes aegypti adalah vektor potensial penyebab Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan tingkat pengetahuan mahasiswa program studi Teknologi Laboratorium Medis pada mata kuliah entomologi ordo diptera (materi nyamuk Aedes aegypti). Metode penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data dengan kuisioner. Subjek penelitian ini berjumlah 60 mahasiswa program studi Teknologi Laboratorium Medis tahun akademik 2024/2025 semester IV dan VI. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan materi nyamuk Aedes aegypti dalam kategori baik sebesar 75%, 22% pada kategori cukup, dan 3% pada kategori kurang.

Abstract

The effectiveness of learning is said to be successful if all learning can be fulfilled. One of them is learning motivation. Learning that can increase the effectiveness of learning and student motivation towards critical thinking skills is electronic learning with the google classroom application. E-learning can measure students' motivation to learn and their critical thinking skills. Students are considered successful when they achieve their learning goals. But in reality, students havenot shown motivation and critical thinking skills. This is what makes learning activities less effective and efficient. Students tend to be lazy to think and express their opinions. During the learning process, students need to be motivated to be interested in learning, thinking and understanding the material. It is the responsibility of the lecturer to always innovate in the learning process in order to stimulate motivation and critical thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was an effect of learning effectiveness and motivation using google classroom on critical thinking skills in educational research methods courses. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research (quasi experimental). The design used is the non-equivalent group design. The research population was all students of the fifth semester of Biology Education, which amounted to 65 students which were divided into 2 classes, while the sample was class A, which amounted to 35 people. The method of collecting data on the effectiveness of learning and motivation uses a questionnaire while the ability to think critically uses a test. Then the data were analyzed using the ANACOVA test. Based on the results of the research through the ANACOVA test, it can be concluded that the effectiveness of learning and motivation using google classroom has an influence on the critical thinking skills of the fifth semester students of FKIP UMB for the 2020/2021 academic year.
