Abstract

AbstrakPertumbuhan penduduk yang semakin pesat menyebabkan banyak timbulnya masalah lingkungan, salah satunya pencemaran zat warna Rhodamin B di perairan. Perlu dicari alternatif untuk menguraikan limbah cair yang mengandung zat warna Rhodamin B tersebut. Salah satu metode yang efektif dalam pengendalian air akibat zat warna adalah melalui metode adsorpsi dengan sistem batch. Senyawa C-SinamalKaliks[4]Resorsinarena (CSKR) merupakan senyawa hasil sintesis dari limbah minyak kayu manis yang berpotensi besar dikembangkan sebagai adsorben zat warna berbahaya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kapasitas serapan maksimum dari CSKR terhadap Rhodamin B menggunakan parameter kondisi optimum yang diperkirakan mempengaruhi penyerapan Rhodamin B tersebut. Parameter yang digunakan pada penelitian ini meliputi pH, konsentrasi, kecepatan pengadukan dan waktu kontak. Pengujian untuk membuktikan metode analisis yang digunakan telah memenuhi persyaratan adalah dengan melakukan validasi metode analisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kondisi optimum untuk penyerapan Rhodamin B terjadi pada pH 7, konsentrasi 100 mg/L, kecepatan pengadukan 200 rpm dan waktu kontak 60 menit. Kapasitas adsorpsi CSKR terhadap Rhodamin B adalah sebesar 11,3542 mg/g. Adsorpsi Rhodamin B oleh CSKR cenderung mengikuti pola isoterm Langmuir dengan nilai koefisien determinan (R) sebesar 0,662. Pada hasil analisis tersebut dilakukan validasi yang meliputi uji keseksamaan (presisi) serta LOD dan LOQ. Nilai uji presisi (% RSD) Rhodamin B yang dihasilkan sebesar 1,92 %. Nilai LOD dan LOQ pada metode analisa yang digunakan adalah 0,02487 mg/L dan 0,08291 mg/L. Hasil uji tersebut menunjukkan bahwa metode yang dilakukan telah memenuhi validasi yang baik. Kata Kunci : Adsorpsi, C-SinamalKaliks[4]Resorsinarena (CSKR), Rhodamin B, kapasitas adsorpsi

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang analisis kandungan besi dan nikel dalam bijih mangan yang tedapat di daerah taming tonga secara spektrofotometri serapan atom. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kandungan besi (Fe) dan nikel (Ni) dengan variasi pelarut, variasi ukuran partikel secara spektrofotometri serapan atom. Penelitian ini menggunakan metoda destruksi basah, dimana proses pendestruksian dilakukan dengan beberapa variasi yaitu variasi pelarut : HCl pekat, HNO3 pekat, dan HCl-HNO3 pekat (3:1), variasi ukuran partikel yaitu ≤ 63 µm, > 63 - ≤ 75 µm, dan > 75 - ≤ 90 µm. Hasil Penelitian ini menunjukkan kadar besi tertinggi didapatkan dengan menggunakan pelarut Aquaregia yaitu 10,402 % dengan ukuran partikel ≤ 63 µm sedangkan kadar nikel tertinggi didapatkan dengan menggunakan pelarut HNO3 yaitu 0,504 % dengan ukuran partikel terbaik ≤ 63 µm.

Abstract

A study in the development co-precipitation method and natural samples was applied to the Batang Arau River in Padang City. Sampling was done once in the month of November 2012, by random sampling on the selected point along the river which was considered to represent the river. Sampling points taken in the river upstream Lubuk Paraku Kor were named sample 1, the sampling points in the middle of the river called hilalang padang besi were called as sample 2, the third sampling points downstream to the mouth of the river were called the sample stream 3. The analysis was performed with the optimization of pH and volume optimization before it was applied to the sample. The result was the determination of the optimum pH conditions co-precipitant Al(OH)3 with atomic absorption spectroscopy air acetylene flame occurred at pH 6, the optimum volume coprecipitant used in the co-precipitation method was the addition of Al(OH)3 as much as 11 mL. Content of Copper (II) obtained at the optimum conditions at upstream was 2,22ppm, in the middle of the river was 1,294 ppm and 1,2 ppm was the content at the river mouth, with an average concentration factor of 104 times compared to direct measurement without the co-precipitation. Quality Standards based on PP. 82 Year 2001 Class II was still in the limited threshold 0,02 ppm.

Abstract

Metal ions Cr (VI) are a type of toxic heavy metal that can cause environmental pollution. Chromium limits exceeding 0.1 mg/L in the water will cause damage to ecosystems and living things within them. Adsorption using activated carbon durian shell was chosen as one of the most efficient methods. Used adsorbent activated carbon durian shell that aims to know the quality of activated carbon durian shell and determine the optimum condition of absorption and optimum capacity of absorption of metal ions Cr (VI). The reaction between orange chromium ions with the addition of H2SO4 and colorless diphenylcarbazide forms a purple solution complex. Maximum wavelength absorption is obtained at 542 nm. The results were obtained with the capacity of immersion in optimum conditions to the absorption of metal ions Cr (VI) at pH 2 and Concentration 360 mg/L with an absorption capacity of 40,3190 mg/g. The study of adsorption isoterm refers more to the freundlich equation approach with a regression coefficient value approaching 1 (R2= 0,9684).

Abstract

Research of study copresipitation Zn2+ using Al(OH)3 as coprecipitant has been done. This study aims to determine the optimum conditions for coprecipitation of Zn2+ by Al(OH)3, and influence of foreign ions. This study uses variation pH about 5,0 – 10,0;  variation of eluent volume about 8,0 – 14,0; variation of concentrated HNO3 volume about 1,0 – 5,0; and variation of concentration Cu2+ about 0,8; 1,2; 1,6; 2,0 and 2,4. Measurement concentration of Zn2+ using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) with wavelength of 213,9 nm. The result showed the optimum conditions occur at pH about 8, 12 mL of eluent and 1 mL of concentrated HNO3 with the absorption capacity of 0,074 mg/g. Meanwhile, the presence of foreign ions such as Cu2+ has influenced the coprecipitated Zn where concentration of the coprecipitated Zn decreased with increasing the concentration of foreign ions.

Abstract

Improving the quality of yoghurt can be done by adding prebiotics, known as yoghurt synbiotic sets. This study aims to determinine the effect of adding prebiotic inulin from bengkoang (Pachyrhizus erosus) to the synbiotic organoleptic of yoghurt sets. This research is an experimental research. The yoghurt synbiotic set was made with inulin concentration variations of 0.1%,0.3%,0.5% with an incubation time of 20 hours at 37˚C. Organoleptic data were processed statistically using the Wilcoxon test with a significance level of α=0.05%. Organoleptic test results showed that the addition of 0.3% inulin concentration did not have a significant effect on the sour aroma, white color and solid texture of the yoghurt set compared to without the addition of inulin. The results of wilcoxon analysis at α=0.05 on organoleptic test showed that there was no significant difference in the color, aroma and texture of the yoghurt set.

Abstract

The concentration of metals in the water is generally very small, so it is difficult to determine by AAS. For this reason, before measuring with AAS, it is necessary to do pretreatment. One of the pretreatment that are commonly used to determine metal concentrations at low concentrations is coprecipitation, where this method is one of the pre-concentration methods. Preconcentration is a concentration technique used when the available sample has a very low concentration. There are several methods of preconcentration, one of which is the coprecipitation method. In this study, the coprecipitation method was used to analyze the metal content of Fe2+ in very small concentrations which would later be measured using an atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimum conditions of coprecipitation of Fe2+ metal ions using Al(OH)3 as coprecipitant. The result obtained in this study were, the optimum conditions for Fe2+ metal ion coprecipitations occured at pH 9, Al3+ concentration 0,2 M, and the long deposition time occurred at 15 hours.

Abstract

Industry produces phenol liquid waste that pollute the environmental. Phenol is a dangerous organic compound that has hight toxicity so that the presence of phenol in the environment will disrupt the surrounding ecosystem and have an impact on human health. To overcome the problem of environmental pollution, an adsorption method is used by utilizing longan skin as an adsorbent. Lengkeng shell is used as an adsorben able to bind phenol in the environment because it has several active groups such as amines, hydroxyl, carbonyl, and carboxyl which can form hydrogen banding with phenol solution. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimum conditions with variation in adsorbent particel sizes of 106, 150, 250, and 425 mm and stirring speeds of 50, 100, 150, 200, and 250 rpm. Phenol was analyzed using UV-Vis spectrophotometer (Specord 210). Adsorption phenol with lengkeng shell biosorbent obtained optimum conditions at an adsorbent particle size of 106 with adsorption capacity of 4.583 mg/g and stirring speed of 200 rpm with adsorption capacity of 4.200 mg/g.

Abstract

Heavy metal in water content may cause serious harm to health and environment. Cd2+ as the one of trace elements contained in water poses certain challenges to be measured and handled properly. Coprecipitation of Cd2+ with Al(OH)3 as coprecipitant is characterized by Atomic Absoprtion Spectrophotometry accoording to Beer's Law. Optimum condition of this process is obtained by varying pH of the solution and coprecipitant concentration. The result indicate pH of 9 and Al3+ concentration of 0,2 M as the optimum conditions, with Cd2+ absorbed to 0,749 ppm.

Abstract

Methylene blue is a basic dye that has cationic properties and used in the coloring industry. Adsorption using activated carbon from durian peel is proven to be able to absorb methylene blue. This study used the batch method which aims to determine the optimum conditions for absorption and maximum absorption of methylene blue using activated carbon from durian peel (Durio zibethinus Murr.). The absorption stages were carried out by varying the pH (2, 3, 4, 5, and 6) and the concentration. (40, 80, 120, 160, 200, 240 and 280) mg/L. The results showed that the optimum conditions occurred at pH 5 and a concentration of 240 mg/L with an absorption capacity of 28.647 mg/g and an absorption percentage of 99.66%. Mechanism the absorption of methylene blue follows the equation Freundlich isotherm with a determinant coefficient (R2) of 0,9874.
