Abstract

This research sought to represent the various halal destinations in Sambas Regency. The tourism industry contributes to the economic development of numerous districts. It is not difficult to develop halal tourism in West Kalimantan, in general and in Sambas Regency in particular, because the Muslim population is large and the region offers a variety of natural and cultural tourist attractions. All of its strategically significant tourist locations are expected to contribute to the growth of halal tourism. As a result, the purpose of this research is to describe tourist attractions as one of the most important locations worldwide. Instead of relying on specific concepts or theories to describe halal tourism, this study employs a qualitative descriptive approach using content analysis. According to the study, West Kalimantan is one of the provinces with a diverse range of tourism destinations, including religious, cultural, maritime, and natural landmarks. Geographically, the region shares a direct border with Sarawak in East Malaysia. Sambas Regency is one of the cross-border entries that have been formally opened, along with PLBN Aruk. Unfortunately, although the majority of the population is Muslim, no standards define a clear concept of halal tourism. However, there are no Sharia-compliant travel agencies, Sharia tour guides, or Sharia tour packages available; Kal-Bar has not been listed in the central government's halal tourism destination program; and there are no halal-certified hotels.

Abstract

Kegiatan seperti taklim, gotong royong, hingga pelatihan keterampilan praktis terbukti efektif meningkatkan literasi agama sekaligus solidaritas sosial.

Abstract

Marketing strategies in the tourism business are essentially centered on creating, managing, and communicating a high-value experience, because the product being sold is not a physical object but rather memories and emotional satisfaction. In a highly competitive industry landscape, a tourism business must be able to build a strong and unique brand identity to be instantly recognizable amidst a sea of other destination options. The purpose of this research is to describe marketing strategies to increase visits to natural tourism and promote local products. This presentation is explained using a descriptive approach. This descriptive approach uses secondary data such as books, journals, and related sources. The research results show that developing a marketing strategy to increase visits to natural tourism while promoting local products is a smart move. The two have a symbiotic relationship: natural beauty attracts tourists, while unique local products provide authentic experiences that encourage them to spend more. A comprehensive marketing strategy that combines the promotion of natural tourism destinations and the economic empowerment of local products includes branding and positioning strategies, digital and content marketing, and on-site experiences.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the formation of green skincare purchase intention among Generation Z consumers in Indonesia by examining the roles of environmental values and perceived health benefits in shaping consumer attitudes, and the moderating effect of usage barriers on the attitude–intention relationship. This study adopted a quantitative approach and surveyed 263 Indonesian Generation Z consumers with prior experience using green skincare products. The collected data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the proposed hypotheses. The results indicate that both environmental values and perceived health benefits significantly and positively influence consumer attitudes toward green skincare, with health benefits exerting a stronger effect. Consumer attitudes are strong determinants of purchase intention. Crucially, the structural model exhibits high explanatory and predictive power, explaining a substantial proportion of purchase intention (R² = 0.642) and demonstrating high predictive relevance (Q²_predict = 0.598). Moreover, usage barriers significantly and negatively moderate the relationship between attitude and purchase intention, weakening the translation of positive attitudes into buying intentions. This study contributes to the green consumption literature by integrating the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and Innovation Resistance Theory (IRT) to demonstrate that usage barriers function as a boundary condition rather than a direct predictor, thereby offering a nuanced explanation of the attitude–intention gap in high-involvement green products. Therefore, the findings suggest that managers should prioritize the credible communication of health benefits while simultaneously reducing functional barriers to use. Policymakers are advised to strengthen standards and transparency for green skincare claims to support informed and confident consumer decision-making.

Abstract

Digital marketing has changed how consumers engage with information and make decisions. In practice, different digital platforms act not only as promotional media but also as a way of influencing user behavior through the persuasive design of interfaces. One phenomenon that has been receiving increasing attention is that of dark patterns, which are design strategies that deliberately exploit consumers' cognitive biases to guide certain decisions. This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of dark patterns from the perspective of maqashid syariah, especially in terms of the protection of reason (hifz al-‘aql) and the protection of wealth (hifz al-mal), and formulate the concept of “consumer cognitive intelligence” as a form of response to the manipulative practices in the digital environment. This study employs a qualitative approach using an integrative literature review design, limitedly combined with the principles of a systematic literature review in the literature search and selection process. The results indicate that dark patterns not only cause economic losses but also have the potential to distort consumers’ thought processes and their freedom to make decisions. On the other hand, this study emphasizes that consumer protection is not sufficient through regulation and business ethics alone but also requires strengthening individuals’ internal capacities. Therefore, this study proposes the concept of “consumer cognitive intelligence from a maqashid perspective” as the ability to recognize, evaluate, and respond to digital information critically, consciously, and ethically. This study is expected to expand the study of Islamic marketing in a digital context while contributing to the discourse on contemporary marketing ethics.
