Abstract

Phosphorus (P) is one of the essential nutrients that functions is metabolism in plant. Based on these functions, it indicates that nutrient P has an important role for plant growth and production. However, its availability in soil is very low, which is less than 0.01% of the total P. Therefore, the availability of P nutrients in the soil needs to be increased by increasing the activity of soil microorganisms through the use of phosphate solubilization bacteria. This research is aimed to show the changes in the physiological characteristics of tomato plants through the application of phosphate solubilization bacteria and rock phosphate. Experiment using factorial randomized block design (RBD) which consisted of 2 factors with 2 consultation levels on the first factor (phosphate solubilization bacteria) and 4 levels on the second factor (rock phosphate), and it consist of 8 combinationed of phosphate solubilization bacteria and rock phosphate with 3 replicated. The results showed that the combination treatment of phosphate solubilization bacteria and rock phosphate affected the physiological characteristics of tomato plants, especially on the variables of stomata density, leaf chlorophyll, plant height, plant dry weight, fruit weight and plant P-tissue content in the vegetative final phase. The recommendation of an efficient fertilizer combination to improve physiological characteristics and high yields is use the phosphate solubilization bacteria and rock phosphate 0.69 grams Keywords: phosphate solubilization bacteria, physiological characteristic, rock phosphate

Abstract

Pemangkasan pucuk merupakan upaya penyeimbangan pertumbuhan vegetatif dan generatif pada tanaman Indeterminate seperti tanaman mentimun. Penyeimbangan pertumbuhan tanaman berperan dalam efisiensi aliran fotosintat tanaman. Usaha perbaikan kualitas produksi benih mentimun dilakukan dengan melakukan efisiensi aliran fotosintat dan peningkatan unsur hara esensial yang terlibat dalam proses pengisian biji. Unsur hara kalium memiliki peranan yang penting dalam proses pengisian biji tanaman mentimun. Percobaan ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemangkasan pucuk dan dosis pupuk kalium terhadap produksi dan kualitas benih mentimun. Percobaan dilakukan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial terdiri dari 12 kombinasi perlakuan pemangkasan pucuk dan dosis pupuk kalium dengan 3 ulangan. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi perlakuan pemangkasan pucuk dan dosis pupuk kalium berpengaruh terhadap produksi dan kualitas benih mentimun yaitu pada variabel jumlah biji, presentase biji bernas dan berat buah. Pemangkasan pucuk ruas ke 12 dan dosis pupuk kalium 300 kg/ha mampu memberikan hasil terbaik. Kata kunci : Pemangkasan Pucuk, Kalium, Produksi dan Kualitas Benih.

Abstract

Tanaman pakcoy merupakan salah satu jenis tanaman holtikultura yang banyak diminati oleh masyarakat. Masyarakat Indonesia masih sedikit yang membudidayakan tanaman pakcoy sehingga perlu untuk dikembangkan karena permintaan yang cukup banyak. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan dengan membudidayakan menggunakan teknik hidroponik dengan konsentrasi nutrisi yang tepat dan pemanfaatan hormon alami dari air kelapa untuk meningkatkan hasil tanaman pakcoy. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil tanaman pakcoy dengan memberikan nutrisi hidroponik dan air kelapa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Sengonagung Kecamatan Purwosari Kabupaten Pasuruan mulai bulan Juni 2022 hingga bulan Juli 2022. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) faktorial 2 faktor dalam rancangan dengan 3 kali ulangan. Faktor pertama 4 taraf konsentrasi air kelapa, faktor kedua 4 taraf konsentrasi AB mix , sehingga jumlah keseluruhan tanaman yang digunakan adalah 48 tanaman. Data yang telah diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA dan apabila terdapat pengaruh perlakuan yang berbeda nyata atau sangat nyata maka dilakukan uji lanjut dengan menggunakan uji Duncan DMRT pada taraf 95%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian nutrisi AB mix dan air kelapa berpengaruh sangat nyata pada variabel berat segar tanaman dengan rerata 32,67g, sedangkan faktor tunggal pemberian nutrisi AB mix tidak berpengaruh nyata pada semua variable pengamatan. Pada faktor tunggal perlakuan air kelapa berpengaruh nyata pada variabel tinggi tanaman.

Abstract

Tomat (Lycopersicum esculentum L.) merupakan salah satu tanaman sayur yang banyak dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat di seluruh dunia terutama di Indonesia. Kebutuhan akan tanaman tomat semakin meningkat, sehingga diperlukan teknologi yang dapat memaksimalkan hasil serta memperbaiki teknik budidaya, salah satunya yaitu teknik budidaya hidroponik. Hidroponik merupakan suatu sistem budidaya tanaman tanpa menggunakan tanah sebagai media tanamnya. Terdapat banyak hal yang perlu diperhatikan dalam budidaya sistem hidroponik seperti pemberian nutrisi dan nilai Electrical Conductivity (EC). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui interaksi antara pemberian larutan nutrisi yang berbeda jenis dengan nilai EC yang berbeda pula terhadap pertumbuhan, hasil dan kualitas buah tomat. Percobaan dilakukan di greenhouse. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial, terdiri dari 15 perlakuan dengan 3 kali ulangan. Faktor-faktor yang diberikan yaitu faktor pertama nilai EC (E), terdiri dari 5 taraf : E1 = 1,5 mS cm-1 ; E2 = 2 mS cm-1 ; E3 = 2,5 mS cm-1 ; E4 = 3 mS cm-1 ; E5 = 3,5 mS cm-1 dan faktor kedua jenis nutrisi (M) terdiri dari 3 taraf : M1 = AB Mix tomat; M2 = AB Mix buah; M3 = Growmore. Pengaruh interaksi antara nilai EC dan jenis nutrisi hidroponik memberi pengaruh sangat nyata terhadap beberapa parameter pertumbuhan, produksi dan kualitas tomat. Perlakuan kombinasi E5M2 (EC 3,5 mS cm-1 dan AB Mix Tomat) merupakan kombinasi perlakuan terbaik, perlakuan pemberian nilai EC 3,5 mS cm-1 (E5) memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap parameter diameter buah dan kadar air, penggunaan Nutrisi AB Mix Tomat (M2) memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap diameter buah. Kata kunci: Tomat, Hidroponik, Nilai EC, Nutrisi.

Abstract

Mustard pakcoy plant is one of the vegetables which is much in demand by society. For the sake of society's awareness of the importance of a healthy plant, it is necessary to develop healthier mustard pakcoy plants. That effort can be done by taking the advantages of organic materials such as organic fertilizer, a natural hormone, organic pesticides, and so on. This research aimed to find out the productivity improvement of mustard pakcoy plants by applying LOF (shame plant root LOM) and coconut water. This research was conducted in Antirogo Village Sumbersari District Jember Regency starting from May 2019 to July 2019. The method used in this research was a 2-factor-Completely Randomized Design (CRD) factorial in the design with 3-time repetitions. The first factor, 4 concentration levels of shame plant LOM, the second factor, 3 concentration levels of coconut water, so the total number of plants used is 36 plants. Data obtained was analyzed using ANOVA and if there was a significant or highly significant difference of treatment effect, the advanced test was conducted by using Duncan's multiple range test (DMRT) at the level of 95%. Based on the research results, it showed that the application of LOF (shame plant LOM) and coconut water had a highly significant effect on the parameter of fresh weight of the plant with the total weight of 645.15 gr/plant, while the single factor of the application of LOF (shame plant LOM) and coconut water had a significant effect on the parameter of plant height, number of leaves, chlorophyll content. At the single factor of coconut water treatment, it had a significant effect on the N networks.

Abstract

Tanaman cabai rawit (Capsicum annuum L.) merupakan komoditas hortikultura yang banyak dibudidayakan di lahan sawah, namun sering mengalami cekaman genangan air akibat banjir. Upaya untuk mengatasi kendala tersebut yaitu dengan aplikasi unsur hara silika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran silika dalam meningkatkan toleransi cabai rawit terhadap cekaman genangan. Percobaan dilakukan di rumah kaca milik Universal PT Tempu Rejo, Kabupaten Jember, Jawa Timur mulai bulan Oktober sampai dengan Desember 2021. Penelitian dilaksanakan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap faktorial (4x4) dengan 3 ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah dosis pupuk silika yaitu D0 = 0 mL, D1 = 0.15 mL, D2 = 0.30 mL, dan D3 = 0.45 mL per tanaman. Faktor kedua adalah cekaman genangan yaitu W1 = 50-70%, W2 = >70-90%, W3 = >90-110%, dan W4 = >110-130% dari kapasitas lapang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi antara perlakuan dosis silika dengan cekaman genangan tidak berpengaruh nyata pada peubah tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun dan luas daun, namun berpengaruh nyata pada peubah kadar air relatif, kandungan H2O2, prolin dan klorofil. Pupuk silika mampu meningkatkan ketahanan tanaman cabai rawit terhadap cekaman genangan ditunjukkan dengan korelasi positif antara silika dengan klorofil dan prolin serta korelasi negatif antara silika dengan kandungan H2O2. Abstract

Tobacco variety H382 was a cigar type tobacco that has a high economic value and potential as export trade commodity in Indonesia. The development stage of tobacco was very sensitive to water stress, like the water excess. Silicon was one of the most abundant elements in earth crust and has a role in water stress reduction to the plant. The objective of this study was to determine the response of tobacco crop variety H382 with the application of silicon fertilizer to adapt in waterlogging stress condition. This study used a factorial randomized block design with first factor was silicon fertilizer (0, 0.15, 0.30 and 0.45 ml) and second factor was excess water stress treatments (50% to 70%, 70% to 90%, 90% to 110% and 110% to 130% of field capacity). All treatments were replicated three times. The results showed that the addition of 0.45 ml silicon fertilizer to waterlogged tobacco crop could escalate the adaptive response of plant to cope with stress; seen from the increasing of the opened stomata, aerenchyma formation and the chlorophyll content of tobacco crop under excess water stress compared to control. Silicon supplementation improves the water availability in root surroundings and repairs the root architecture; thus, lead to a better hydraulic conductivity of the root for water and nutrient intake. Furthermore, authors found that the application of silicon fertilizer helped tobacco crop variety H382 improve plant adaptability to deal with excess water stress.

Abstract

NaCl stress in plants affects various physiological and biochemical processes that result in reduced biomass production. This study aims to determine the aspects of morphological and physiological changes of plants with indications of the induction of secondary metabolism in survival, which is indicated by an indication of an increase in bioactive compounds, including phenolic compounds, flavonoids, single oxygen (O2), hydroxyl radicals (OH-), radicals ( O-2), and superoxide. The clove seed pot experiment under NaCl stress used a randomized block design with three replications. Data are presented as mean ± standard deviation. The significance of the difference between the mean values was tested by analysis of variance, if there was a significant effect, then Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results of the NaCl stress study on clove seeds showed fluctuating phenolic and flavonoid content, almost all NaCl treatment with the optimum plant value obtained at a NaCl concentration of 200 mM, with a content of (1.18μg GAE/g) and flavonoids (0.158 g QE/g) ( 1.18μg GAE/g). Abstract

The availability of irrigation water during the growing season reflects on the potential yield at the end of the peanuts’ growing season. Monitoring water availability is essential to optimize production. This study aimed to identify the effect of irrigation water on peanuts (Arachis hypogaea (L.) Merr.) under various irrigation conditions between actual and simulated AquaCrop. The research was conducted in the experimental field utilizing four irrigation treatments which were 60%, 80%, 100% of  field capacity (FC), and standard irrigation. The correlation results between the actual and simulated ones showed that the R2 value was 0.974–0.990 for the canopy cover parameter, 0.026–0.534 for ETc, and 0.542-0.554 for production. Comparison between actual and simulated AquaCrop showed Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) values of 5.08–­­9.74 for canopy cover parameters, 1.11–3.12 for ETc, and 0.82–1.09 for production. Welch test statistical analysis indicated values of 2.31–5.52 for plant biomass and 0.04–3.98 for dry pod yields. The AquaCrop simulation accurately predicted canopy cover at 80% irrigation treatment compared to 60%, 100%, and standard irrigation treatments. Parameter of ETc in AquaCrop simulations showed inaccurate predictions for biomass production and pod dry weight when compared with actual results on all irrigation treatments.
