Abstract

Plant nutrition and water provision are very important for plant growth and development. Nutrition can be done with AB mix nutrition with a certain concentration while the frequency of water can be controlled with a microcontroller. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of various concentrations of AB mix nutrients and the frequency of irrigation water using a microcontroller on the yield of mustard greens. This research can be useful as a source of information related to the application of microcontroller sensors in the provision of appropriate AB mix water and nutrition for farmers and practitioners. The research design consisted of two treatments, namely the concentration of AB mix and the frequency of water administration with 3 repetitions. the concentration of AB mix nutrients given consisted of three variations, namely 750 ppm (D1), 1250 ppm (D2), and 1750 ppm (D3) while the frequency variations consisted of variations of 4x water administration (F1), 8x water administration (F2), and 12x water administration (F3). The volume of water has increased by three stages from the beginning of planting to harvest. The results showed that the AB mix concentration treatment showed a significant difference to plant fresh weight but not to other parameters. The frequency of water treatment also showed the same results as the nutrient concentration treatment and there was no interaction between the frequency of water treatment and the AB mix concentration. Furthermore, the best variation is the variation of nutrition 1750 ppm and the frequency of 8x watering.

Abstract

Breadfruit chips are an example of post-harvest processing of breadfruit yields. Generally, breadfruit is only sold in the market in its raw form which has many drawbacks such as low selling price, and short shelf life, the fruit is easily damaged during the transportation process until rot occurs in the fruit. Processing breadfruit into breadfruit chips can help increase the profit margins you get. Breadfruit also has a certain harvest period or what is known as a seasonal plant can quickly experience decay so that post-harvest processing is deemed necessary to keep the product able to have a long shelf life. Tenggir Village, Panji District, Situbondo Regency is one of the villages with a relatively large number of breadfruit trees. Villagers already have the desire and enthusiasm to use the breadfruit by processing it into breadfruit chips. There is a need for community service to empower village potential and design solutions that will be offered to the community. The purpose of this program is to provide alternative solutions for simple postharvest processing of agricultural products and increase the production capacity of the breadfruit chips home industry. The result of implementing this program is an increase in one of the breadfruit chip processing home industries with indicators of increasing production capacity and business turnover. Greater support in science and finance could be scaled up to support more targeted and significant business development.

Abstract

The current challenges of industrial agriculture focus on environmental safety. Water quality is an indicator of environmental sustainability. The cultivation system has an impact on water quality. The aim of this study is to assess the water quality of agricultural systems. Anthropogenically, agricultural activities have an impact on environmental aspects. Identification of agricultural systems is clustered into organic and non-organic agriculture. The agricultural system in Indonesia is regulated based on SNI 6729;2016. Water sampling was carried out at three points, including upstream, middle (irrigation), and downstream (river). Water sampling at each point was repeated three times. Assessment of the physical quality of water using the Combo Quality Meter. Water samples for chemical and biological analysis at the Environmental Laboratory, Perum. Jasa Tirta 1. Determination of water quality standards refers to Government Regulation No. 82 of 2001. In the upstream section, pollution can be seen in the biological oxygen demand (BOD) indicator, with an average of 15.03 mg L-1 for organic and conventional systems. The phosphate indicator averaged 1.96 mg L-1. In the middle section (irrigation), the pollution indicators for BOD, phosphate, and total Coliform parameters were 6.76 mg L-1 for the organic system, 7.37 mg L-1 for the non-organic system, and 1,290 CFU mL-1. In the downstream (river), pollution indicators consist of total suspended solids (TSS), BOD, chemical oxygen demand (COD), and total Coliform. Anthropogenic identification for clustering agricultural systems at the research location uses stratified disproportional sampling. The results of this research provide recommendations for water quality management for sustainable agricultural environmental management.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of different jajar legowo planting systems in intercropping sweet corn with peanuts, as well as the addition of several doses of organic fertilizer on soil nitrogen status and plant leaf tissue on sandy soil. The research was conducted from January to May 2023, on the south coast of Jember Regency. The study used a split-plot design; the main plot consisted of the treatment of 2:2 (A1) and 4:2 (A2) jajar legowo intercropping systems. The subplots were different doses of cow dung organic fertilizer: 10 t ha-1 (B1), 20 t ha-1 (B2), and 30 t ha-1 (B3), each repeated three times. Observational data were analyzed by ANOVA and DMRT 5%. The results of the study showed that the combination of the planting system and organic fertilizer doses applied had not been able to provide optimal microclimate and soil properties for the growth and development of sweet corn plants. The A2 planting system provides a better microclimate and plant morphology for plant N availability and absorption. The addition of organic fertilizer up to the highest dose (B3) has not been able to maintain optimal soil water and N availability for sweet corn in sandy soil.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Spinach plant production has decreased every year and the use of inorganic fertilizers is still often used by farmers. The right innovation of Brazilian spinach cultivation technique is by using biological fertilizers. This study used a non-factorial completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatment levels repeated 4 times, namely C0: 0 mg/plant (Control), C1: 20 mg/plant, C2: 40 mg/plant, C3: 60 mg /plant, and C4: 80 mg/plant so that there are 20 experimental treatment units. The variables used in this study were plant height, number of leaves, number of branches, leaf area, chlorophyll content, canopy area, and plant fresh weight. The data obtained were analyzed for variance (ANOVA) and further tested with Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) with a confidence level of 95%. The results showed that there was a significant effect of the application of biological fertilizers on the growth and yield of Brazilian spinach (Althernanthera sisso), namely height plants that produce the highest average value of 24.23 cm, the variable number of branches with the highest value is 6.25 branches, the variable leaf area with the highest value is 131.88 cm2, and the variable number of leaves that gives a very significant different effect with the highest value ie 11.25 strands. The correct dosage of biological fertilizers is found in the Agrice Plus fertilizer treatment with a dose of 80 mg/plant for all observed variables. Keywords:, Brazilian Spinach, Biofertilizer

Abstract

Sawi pagoda adalah jenis sayuran yang berasal dari tiongkok, cina. Sawi pagoda merupakan salah satu jenis sawi yang berkerabat dekat dengan pakcoy (Brassica rapa subs. Chinensis). Kebutuhan sawi juga terus meningkat seiring dengan pertumbuhan jumlah penduduk. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan dengan membudidayakan menggunakan teknik hidroponik substrat dengan komposisi media yang tepat dan penambahan larutan nutrisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kombinasi komposisi media tanam dengan larutan nutrisi terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman sawi pagoda bertempat di Jl. Kaliurang Gg. Swadaya 3 No. 7 Sumbersari Jember pada bulan Agustus sampai September 2023. Penelitian ini dirancang menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan dua faktor perlakuan dengan 3 kali ulangan. Faktor pertama 4 taraf komposisi media, faktor kedua 4 taraf komposisi larutan nutrisi, sehingga jumlah keseluruhan tanaman yang digunakan adalah 48 tanaman. Data yang telah diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA dan apabila terdapat pengaruh perlakuan yang berbeda nyata atau sangat nyata maka dilakukan uji lanjut dengan menggunakan uji Duncan DMRT pada taraf 95%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian media tanam dan larutan nutrisi berpengaruh nyata pada variabel terhadap diameter tajuk, berat basah akar dan klorofil daun, sedangkan faktor tunggal perlakuan media berpengaruh nyata pada pada berat basah akar, berat kering akar dan klorofil daun. Pada faktor tunggal perlakuan air kelapa berpengaruh nyata pada variabel diameter tajuk daun, jumlah daun, berat basah akar dan berat kering akar.

Abstract

Tanaman Jagung (Zea mays L.) merupakan tanaman pangan yang banyak dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat Indonesia setelah padi. Produksi jagung Indonesia beberapa tahun terakhir cenderung mengalami penurunan. Hal ini  disebabkan diantaranya oleh adanya masalah kesuburan tanah dan kondisi unsur hara yang tidak tercukupi terutama unsur hara Nitrogen (N). Perbaikan kesuburan tanah, peningkatan serta penjagaan ketersediaan unsur hara N dalam tanah dapat ditingkatkan dengan melakukan pemupukan berimbang berupa penerapan bakteri Azotobacter sp. yang dikombinasikan dengan pupuk kotoran kambing. Penelitian ini bertujuan adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi bakteri Azotobacter sp. dan dosis pupuk kotoran kambing yang sesuai terhadap serapan N, pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung. Pelaksanaan penelitian ini pada bulan Mei sampai dengan November 2022 di Desa Singojuruh, Kabupaten Banyuwangi. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan dua faktor perlakuan dan ulangan 3 kali. Faktor pertama yaitu Konsentrasi Bakteri Azotobacter sp. (N) dengan 3 taraf yaitu N0: tanpa BPN (Bakeri Penambat Nitrogen), N1: 10 ml/L BPN Azotobacter sp., N2: 20 ml/L BPN Azotobacter sp., sedangkan faktor kedua yaitu K0 = tanpa pupuk kotoran kambing, K1 = 10 ton/ha K2 = 15 ton/ha K3 = 20 ton/ha. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kombinasi perlakuan konsentrasi bakteri Azotobacter sp. 20 ml/L dengan dosis pupuk kotoran kambing 20 ton/ha (N2K3) memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap serapan N, pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung.

Abstract

Tanaman kacang hijau (Vigna radiata L.) adalah jenis tanaman semusim yang termasuk ke dalam golongan tanaman kacang-kacangan. Tanaman ini mampu beradaptasi dengan cepat, berumur pendek, dan tahan kekeringan. Penanaman kacang hijau di lahan kering dapat menurunkan produktivitasnya karena memiliki tingkat evaporasi dan evapotranspirasi yang tinggi. Permasalahan tersebut dapat diatasi dengan pemanfaatan mulsa dan mengatur jarak tanam pada praktik budidaya untuk menciptakan kondisi lingkungan tumbuh yang lebih optimal. Pemanfaatan mulsa organik pada lahan kering dapat membantu untuk memenuhi nutrisi hara tanaman sehingga pertumbuhannya lebih optimal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh interaksi perlakuan ketebalan mulsa jerami padi dan jarak tanam terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kacang hijau. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan 3 kali ulangan. Hasil terbaik yang didapatkan dalam penelitian ini adalah penggunaan ketebalan mulsa sebesar 4,5 cm (B2) dan jarak tanam 40 x 25 cm (T2).

Abstract

Padi merupakan tanaman yang menghasilkan sumber makanan pokok masyarakat Indonesia. Produksi padi menurun karena semakin sempitnya lahan pertanian, oleh karena itu dilakukan pemanfaatan lahan rawa untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Peningkatan produksi padi di lahan rawa memerlukan inovasi teknologi budidaya sistem tanam jajar legowo 4:1 dengan penerapan jarak tanam dan pemberian pupuk organik cair. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jarak tanam dan konsentrasi pupuk organik cair yang tepat terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman padi di lahan rawa. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Percobaan Petak Terbagi dengan petak utama jarak tanam (A) dan anak petak konsentrasi pupuk organik cair (B). Variabel pengamatan meliputi fase vegetatif, fase generatif dan komponen hasil tanaman padi. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah kombinasi perlakuan jarak tanam dan konsentrasi pupuk organik cair A3B3 (30X30cm dan 10 ml/L) berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman padi pada sistem tanam jajar legowo 4:1 di lahan rawa pasang surut dengan potensi hasil sebesar 7,68 ton/ha.

Abstract

Probolinggo and Lumajang districts are two regions in East Java that have horticultural villages with the potential to develop fruit and vegetable crops. Efforts to develop horticultural villages in the region need to be made to achieve the realization of horticultural villages that are independent and advanced, more modern and have high competitiveness. This socialization and development activity aims to increase understanding of horticultural farmer groups regarding efforts to develop horticultural villages in both regions in accordance with the standards of horticultural villages that are independent and advanced and have sales value, provide guidance and training to horticultural village farmers regarding the cultivation of horticultural plants and processing of products accordingly. commodities developed in each region, explore several factors that influence the level of success and sustainability of the horticultural village development program in the sampling area, obtain input regarding recommendations for improving programs or activities carried out in each sampling horticultural village using descriptive and quantitative analysis . Horticultural farmers' understanding regarding the development of horticultural villages in the Probolinggo and Lumajang districts is still low and does not meet the standards of horticultural villages that are independent and advanced and have sales value. Efforts to develop horticultural villages in the Probolinggo and Lumajang districts show positive developments in several commodities, while for annual fruit commodities, factors that influence the sustainability indicators of the horticultural village development program. Apart from that, there are factors such as the quality of the farmer group's human resources and the involvement of stakeholders which greatly influences the sustainability of the development of horticulture villages. Efforts to develop horticulture villages require the provision of facilities and assistance with production facilities, infrastructure and guidance on post-harvest handling, processing, market development and the development of farmers' economic institutions.
