Abstract

Eggshell waste is a type of organic waste produced from egg consumption activities, both in households and the food industry. Liquid Organic Fertilizer from eggshell waste has a real effect on the increase in plant height and many leaves in tomato plants. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether the use of eggshell waste is an alternative to increase the growth of tomato plants and whether there is the most effective concentration on the growth of tomato plants. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the use of eggshell waste as liquid organic fertilizer in increasing the growth of tomato plants (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill). The type of research is a true experiment using a Complete Random Design (RAL) with four treatments and five replications. The research sample was 20 tomato plant seedlings sown for 21 days. The data was analyzed using the One Way Anova test with an error rate (?) = 0.05 and continued with Tukey's follow-up test. The results showed that the application of liquid organic fertilizer from eggshell waste for six weeks at the high parameters of plants with concentrations of 0 ml (92.40), 50 ml (96.40), 100 ml (110.20) and 150 ml (119.20) with a value of sig. <0.05 and on the parameters of many leaves with concentrations of 0 ml (264.60), 50 ml (270.80), 100 ml (391.60) and 150 ml (406.60) with sig values. <0.05. The results of Tukey's follow-up test obtained that the most effective concentration was 150 ml (P= >0.05). Liquid organic fertilizer from eggshell waste exerts a significant influence on the growth of tomato plants. It is expected for future researchers to use variable variations.

Abstract

Masalah gizi kurang pada balita, khususnya wasting, masih menjadi isu kesehatan masyarakat karena berdampak pada pertumbuhan, perkembangan, dan kesehatan balita. Kondisi ini berkaitan erat dengan praktik pemberian makan yang belum memadai, khususnya kualitas dan ketepatan pemberian makanan pendamping ASI (MP-ASI). Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu balita mengenai pemberian MP-ASI berbasis pangan lokal sebagai upaya pencegahan gizi kurang. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Desa Bintalahe Kecamatan Kabila Bone melalui pendekatan edukatif berupa penyuluhan gizi seimbang dan MP-ASI berkualitas dengan media leaflet dan pemberian contoh makanan selingan berbahan pangan lokal. Sasaran kegiatan adalah 20 ibu balita yang dipilih karena perannya dalam pengambilan keputusan terkait pemilihan dan pengolahan makanan keluarga. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan desain pre-test dan post-test untuk menilai perubahan tingkat pengetahuan peserta dengan analisis data secara deskriptif. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata pengetahuan ibu setelah kegiatan edukasi, dari 66,5 ± 24,76 pada pre-test menjadi 77 ± 20,79 pada post-test. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penyuluhan gizi yang terarah dan kontekstual efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu balita terkait pemberian MP-ASI berbasis pangan lokal. Kesimpulannya, edukasi gizi kepada ibu balita merupakan pendekatan yang relevan dalam mendukung pemenuhan kebutuhan gizi anak setelah masa ASI eksklusif. Disarankan agar kegiatan edukasi MP-ASI berbasis pangan lokal dilaksanakan secara berkesinambungan dan terintegrasi dengan kegiatan posyandu guna memperkuat praktik pemberian makan balita di tingkat rumah tangga.

Abstract

Nutrition education plays a crucial role in improving adolescent nutritional literacy and helping them develop healthier eating patterns. Audio-visual media is considered more effective than traditional methods because it presents information visually and audibly, making the material easier to understand and remember, including in shaping perceptions of body image. This study aimed to measure the effect of audio-visual-based nutrition education on nutritional knowledge and body image perceptions of students at SMP Negeri 1 Tilango. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest and control group design. A total of 60 students were divided into two groups: the intervention group with audio-visual media and the control group with leaflets. Analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test, Paired Sample T-Test, and Mann-Whitney test. The results showed a significant improvement in the audio-visual group, with average nutritional knowledge increasing from 65.3 to 85.7 (p=0.001) and body image perception from 58.4 to 80.2 (p=0.002). The leaflet group also experienced a smaller increase in knowledge, from 64.9 to 75.1 and body image perception from 57.9 to 68.3 (p<0.05). A comparison of the two groups indicated that audiovisual media was more effective in improving nutrition knowledge (p=0.01) and body image perception (p=0.03). This study confirms that audiovisual media is a more engaging and easily understood educational tool, making it suitable for use by schools and health professionals to improve nutrition understanding and body image perception in adolescents. Abstract

Tuberkulosis (TBC) masih menjadi beban kesehatan masyarakat terutama di negara dengan insidensi tinggi seperti Indonesia. Strategi Directly Observed Treatment Short-course (DOTS) yang direkomendasikan WHO berperan penting dalam meningkatkan keberhasilan pengobatan, namun kepatuhan selama fase intensif masih menjadi tantangan. Penelitian bertujuan menganalisis hubungan implementasi strategi DOTS dengan kepatuhan minum obat anti-TB pada fase intensif pada pasien TBC paru di Kabupaten Bone Bolango. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif analitik dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Sampel sebanyak 75 responden diperoleh melalui total sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner terstruktur dan dianalisis menggunakan uji Chi-square dan regresi logistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan signifikan antara seluruh komponen DOTS dengan kepatuhan: komitmen pemerintah (p=0.006), pemeriksaan mikroskopis (p=0.003), pengawasan minum obat (p=0.000), ketersediaan obat (p=0.002), serta sistem pencatatan dan pelaporan (p=0.004). Faktor yang paling dominan adalah pengawasan minum obat, dengan p-value 0,001 dan OR = 0,133 (CI: 0.039 – 0.459). Implementasi DOTS sangat berhubungan dengan kepatuhan minum obat fase intensif. Penguatan peran pengawas minum obat, ketersediaan obat, dan sistem pelaporan diperlukan untuk meningkatkan keberhasilan pengobatan.

Abstract

Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 merupakan salah satu penyakit tidak menular dengan pertumbuhan tercepat secara global dan menjadi tantangan besar bagi pelayanan kesehatan primer. Program Pengelolaan Penyakit Kronis (Prolanis) diharapkan berkontribusi pada pengendalian glukosa darah melalui pendekatan edukasi, pemantauan, dan manajemen berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis perbedaan kadar gula darah puasa (GDP) antara pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 yang mengikuti Prolanis dan yang tidak mengikuti program tersebut di Puskesmas Ilangata. Penelitian menggunakan desain potong lintang dengan melibatkan 118 responden, terdiri atas 59 peserta Prolanis dan 59 non-Prolanis. Pemeriksaan GDP dilakukan setelah minimal delapan jam puasa. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Mann–Whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan signifikan kadar GDP antara kelompok Prolanis dan non-Prolanis (p < 0,001), dengan median GDP peserta Prolanis lebih rendah dibandingkan kelompok non-Prolanis. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa keikutsertaan dalam Prolanis berpotensi berperan dalam pengendalian glukosa darah pada pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2.

Abstract

Bayi dengan berat badan lahir rendah (BBLR) memiliki risiko lebih tinggi terhadap kematian neonatal serta gangguan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan pada masa kanak-kanak dibandingkan bayi dengan berat lahir normal. Salah satu faktor yang diduga berperan dalam kejadian BBLR adalah kondisi kekurangan energi kronik (KEK) pada ibu hamil, yang dapat diperberat oleh adanya penyakit infeksi selama kehamilan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan kekurangan energi kronik pada ibu hamil dengan kejadian berat badan lahir rendah di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Kabupaten Pohuwato. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional analitik dengan desain cross-sectional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 72 ibu melahirkan yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui lembar observasi dan dianalisis menggunakan uji Chi-Square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara kondisi KEK pada ibu hamil dengan kejadian BBLR, di mana keberadaan penyakit infeksi pada ibu hamil dengan KEK memiliki peluang lebih besar terhadap kejadian BBLR (OR = 5,11). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penyakit infeksi pada ibu hamil dengan KEK merupakan faktor yang berhubungan dengan meningkatnya kejadian BBLR di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Kabupaten Pohuwato. Oleh karena itu, upaya pencegahan dan penanganan KEK serta penyakit infeksi selama kehamilan perlu menjadi perhatian dalam pelayanan kesehatan ibu guna menurunkan risiko kejadian BBLR.

Abstract

Nutrient intake is an important factor for the growth and development of toddlers, one of the causes of malnutrition in toddlers is a suboptimal feeding pattern. Problem formulation, what is the content of protein, fat, and carbohydrates and how the panelists received based on organoleptic tests on processed F100-based cookies with 10%, 20%, and 30% corn flour substitution for malnourished toddlers. The purpose of the study was to determine the content of protein, fat, and carbohydrates as well as the acceptance of panelists based on organoleptic tests on processed F100-based cookies with 10%, 20% and 30% corn flour substitution for malnourished toddlers. This type of research is quantitative by using laboratory experiments to analyze protein, fat, and carbohydrate levels. The research design used was a 1-factorial Complete Random Design (RAL) with 3 treatments (10%, 20%, and 30%). The research panelists consisted of 20 students of Public Health specializing in nutrition to determine the level of organoleptic acceptance of cookies. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis. The results of the nutrient analysis research obtained protein content of 8.29%, 9.12%, and 9.58% for each treatment, fat content of 10.10%, 11.15%, and 12.25% for each treatment and carbohydrate content of 76.12%, 73.82%, and 71.83% for each treatment. The results of organoleptic tests showed that the entire cookie formulation was well received by the panelists, especially at 30% substitution.In conclusion, the nutritional content of corn flour substitution cookies can be an alternative in meeting the nutritional needs of toddlers per day. The suggestion for the next researcher is to conduct several follow-up tests to determine the content of micronutrients (vitamins and minerals).

Abstract

Obesitas pada anak merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan masyarakat yang semakin meningkat dan dapat berdampak terhadap risiko penyakit kronis di masa mendatang. Salah satu faktor penyebabnya adalah pola konsumsi makanan dan minuman siap saji yang tinggi, disertai rendahnya asupan zat gizi mikro seperti zat besi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran konsumsi makanan siap saji, minuman siap saji, dan kecukupan zat besi pada anak obesitas di SDN 56 Kota Timur Kota Gorontalo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan food recall 1x24 jam selama tiga hari terhadap 30 responden anak obesitas kelas III–V SDN 56 Kota Timur. Data dianalisis secara univariat dan disajikan dalam bentuk distribusi frekuensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar anak obesitas memiliki frekuensi konsumsi makanan siap saji yang tinggi, seperti ayam goreng cepat saji, mie bakso, burger, donat, dan jajanan gorengan. Konsumsi minuman siap saji juga tergolong tinggi, dengan jenis minuman seperti teh kemasan, Pop Ice, Nutrisari, dan es coklat yang mengandung gula sederhana tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil food recall, diperoleh bahwa kecukupan zat besi sebagian besar anak masih kurang, yaitu pada hari pertama 66,7% anak belum memenuhi Angka Kecukupan Gizi (AKG), hari kedua 63,3%, dan hari ketiga 56,7%. Anak obesitas di SDN 56 Kota Timur Kota Gorontalo memiliki konsumsi makanan dan minuman siap saji yang tinggi serta kecukupan zat besi yang sebagian besar belum memenuhi AKG, sehingga diperlukan edukasi gizi bagi siswa dan orang tua, pengawasan jajanan sekolah, serta pembiasaan konsumsi makanan sehat untuk mencegah kekurangan zat gizi mikro dan menurunkan risiko obesitas.

Abstract

  Background: Nutrition education is one of the efforts to improve the nutritional status of children under five. Through nutrition counseling, parents gain knowledge about balanced nutrition and handling nutrition problems. Prupose: To determine the effectiveness of nutrition education on balanced feeding patterns in toddlers 24-59 months in Limboto Health Center. Method: Research using quantitative with quasi experiment design type pretest-posttest control group design. The sample amounted to 30 mothers who had underweight toddlers, selected through purposive sampling technique, 15 people as a treatment group and 15 control groups. Data were analyzed using Independent Sample T-Test test. Results: There was an increase in balanced feeding patterns in the treatment group after being given nutrition education. The average pretest was 48.53 increased to 73.73 in the posttest, with an average difference of 25.20. This indicates a change after education is carried out. Conclusion: Nutrition education is effective on balanced feeding patterns in toddlers 24-59 months in Limboto Health Center, with a significance value (p-value) of 0.000 (Sig. (2-tailed) <0.05), which indicates that the average difference between the two groups. Suggestions, nutrition education needs to be continued regularly to maintain and improve a balanced diet in toddlers. Suggestions: Parents of toddlers are expected to be more active in participating in nutrition education provided by health workers to increase understanding of the importance of balanced feeding.

Abstract

Background: Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem in toddlers characterized by shorter height compared to children of the same age. The formulation of the problem is whether there is a relationship between mother's knowledge about feeding 6-24 months old children and employment status with the incidence of stunting in Limba B Village, Kota Selatan District. Purpose: To determine the relationship between mother's knowledge about feeding 6-24 months old children and employment status with the incidence of stunting in Limba B urban village, South Kota sub-district. Method: This study used quantitative methods using Cross Sectional research design. The sample in this study amounted to 100 respondents, namely mothers who have 6-24 month olds. The sampling technique in the study was purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test Results: The results showed that there was a relationship between maternal knowledge about feeding 6-24 months old children with the incidence in Limba B Village with a p-value = 0.018 <0.05. And there is no relationship between maternal employment status and the incidence of stunting in 6-24 month olds with a p-value = 0.092 > 0.05. Conclusion: There is a relationship between maternal knowledge and the incidence of stunting in Limba B Village with a p-value = 0.018 <0.05. There is no relationship between maternal employment status and the incidence of stunting in toddlers in Limba B Village with a p-value = 0.092 > 0.05.
