Abstract

Organic waste processing by utilizing the candlenut shell charcoal has great potential to produce useful materials. The large seed and skin ratio makes candlenut shells very abundant during the harvest season. Candlenut shells are known as agricultural waste even though they have great potential to be utilized because of their good mechanical properties. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of composition variations in candlenut shell charcoal powder composites on their mechanical properties such as hardness values, friction coefficients and wear rates. The materials used are candlenut shell charcoal powder and epoxy, with a fraction ratio of 55%: 45% wt, 60%: 40% wt, 65%: 35% wt, 70%: 30% wt, 75%: 25% wt, 80%: 20% wt, 85% : 15% wt. The size of the candlenut shell charcoal powder used is 841-1190 μm. The results of the study showed the highest hardness of 74.94 HRN, a wear value of 0,000077407407 g/mm2, and the friction coefficient of 0.2108.

Abstract

Mendidik anak dalam Islam memiliki tatacara dan aturan tersendiri yang harus kita jadikan pegangan dalam memilih model/cara mendidik anak yang akan kita lakukan. Orang tua dalam keluarga memiliki peran dan tanggung jawab terhadap anaknya. Setiap orang tua ingin mempunyai anak yang berkepribadian akhlak mulia. Untuk mencapai keinginan tersebut, orang tua diharapkan untuk mengoptimalkan peran dan tanggung jawab sebagai orang tua terhadap anaknya. Mengasuh dan mendidik anak yang dilakukan orang tua dengan berbagai macam pola asuh seperti demokratis; otoriter; permisif; dan penelantar (acuh tak acuh). Islam sebagai agama solutif terhadap permasalahan yang terjadi dalam keluarga tentang bagaimana mendidik anak sesuai dengan usia dan masa pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak. Pola asuh ini telah dipraktikkan oleh Rasulullah Saw. Adapun pola asuh tersebut, yaitu: membimbing cara belajar sambil bermain pada jenjang usia 0-7 tahun; menanamkan sopan santun dan disiplin pada jenjang usia 7-14 tahun; dan ajaklah bertukar pikiran pada jenjang usia 14-21 tahun, dan sesudah itu lepaskan mereka untuk mandiri.

Abstract

The rapid proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices has introduced significant challenges, particularly in managing electronic noise, which can degrade system performance and data accuracy. This study explores the integration of IoT with edge computing as a novel approach to mitigate electronic noise. By leveraging edge computing, data processing is performed locally, reducing transmission distances and enhancing real-time noise reduction. The research employs a combination of field experiments and computational simulations to evaluate the effectiveness of this integration. Key metrics such as noise reduction level, system latency, energy efficiency, and signal quality were measured before and after the implementation of noise mitigation technologies. Results indicate a significant reduction in electronic noise, with noise levels decreasing from 75 dB to 55 dB (a 26.67% reduction). System latency improved by 66.67%, dropping from 120 ms to 40 ms, while energy efficiency increased by 30%. Signal quality, measured by Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR), improved by 100%, from 10 dB to 20 dB. These findings demonstrate that the integration of IoT and edge computing effectively mitigates electronic noise, enhances system performance, and optimizes energy consumption. The study concludes with recommendations for further optimization of signal processing algorithms and testing in more complex industrial environments.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menganalisis Tingkat pemahaman siswa terhadap materi kelipatan Persekutuan terkecil (KPK) dan faktor persekutuan terbesar (FPB) dikelas IV-A SD Negeri 066429 Medan Marelan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif yang melibatkan pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemahaman siswa terhadap materi KPK dan FPB masih tergolong rendah dan banyak siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam menggunakan metode pohon faktor, serta belum memahami konsep dasar seperti bilangan prima, kelipatan dan faktor. Faktor penyebabnya meliputi pendekatan pembelajaran yang kurang variativ dan minimnya pengulangan serta penerapan soal kontekstual. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pendekatan pembelajaran tambahan lebih konteks dan interaktif karena siswa mudah mengetahui materi. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi refrensi dan bahan evaluasi bagi guru dalam merancang metode pembelajaran yang lebih efisien yang membantu siswa memahami matematika dengan lebih baik

Abstract

Robusta coffee has a higher caffeine content than Arabica coffee. Coffee farmers in Bantaeng, South Sulawesi, do more post-harvest processing using the dry processing method or a natural process where the coffee that has been picked is immediately dried without removing the mucus first by fermentation, fermentation can reduce the content caffeine in coffee. Excessive caffeine in coffee can be harmful to health. The research aims to determine the effect of fermentation time on the quality of Robusta coffee beans and the decrease in caffeine levels. The research method used an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) to determine the effect of natural fermentation time on the caffeine content of robusta coffee beans from Bantaeng district for 0.24, 48 and 72 hours. Data collection was carried out by testing the total microbes in the fermented liquid (total plate count, total bacteria, yeast count, and total lactic acid bacteria), pH, total titrated acid, water content, and caffeine content. The results of the analysis show that the duration of fermentation affects the decrease in caffeine content in Robusta coffee beans. The best treatment in this study was 48 hours of fermentation which had a caffeine content of 2.65%

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the performance of a heat pump fluidized-bed dryer incorporating a biomass furnace and a solar collector for paddy drying. The paddy moisture content (MC) was decreased from 28.52% to 16.28% on a dry basis (db) through the drying process over 23.68 minutes, under operating conditions of a mass flow rate of 0.1033 kg/s and an average temperature of 70 °C. An average drying rate of 0.042 kg/min was achieved, corresponding to a specific moisture extraction rate of 0.24 kg/kWh. Correspondingly, the system required average specific electrical and thermal energy consumptions of 7.43, 3.21, and 4.22 kWh/kg, respectively. The biomass furnace demonstrated a high thermal efficiency of 87.9%, while the solar collector achieved an average efficiency of 31.7%. The heat pump exhibited stable performance, with an average coefficient of performance measured at 3.2. The heat pump condenser, solar collector, and biomass furnace generated average heat energies of 2.37 kW, 0.79 kW, and 2.91 kW, respectively. The dryer exhibited average thermal and pickup efficiencies of 21.8% and 40.4%. The average exergy efficiency was 57.7%. Furthermore, the incorporation of the heat recovery exchanger resulted in an approximate 47% reduction in heat energy consumption.

Abstract

Nefrolitiasis atau batu ginjal merupakan salah satu masalah urologi yang menimbulkan nyeri hebat dan kecemasan pada pasien. Kecemasan yang tidak ditangani dapat memperburuk kondisi fisik maupun psikologis pasien. Pendekatan nonfarmakologis seperti mindfulness meditation menjadi salah satu strategi yang potensial untuk mereduksi kecemasan. Tujuan: Menjelaskan efektivitas mindfulness dalam mereduksi kecemasan pada pasien batu ginjal berdasarkan tinjauan dari beberapa penelitian. Metode: Kajian ini mengacu pada empat penelitian terkait intervensi nonfarmakologis untuk mengurangi kecemasan pada pasien dengan penyakit ginjal, termasuk mindfulness meditation, progressive muscle relaxation, SEFT, dan breathing exercises. Hasil: Mindfulness meditation terbukti menurunkan kecemasan dan meningkatkan kualitas hidup pasien dengan penyakit ginjal kronis. Progressive muscle relaxation efektif menurunkan nyeri dan kecemasan pada pasien batu ginjal post-PCNL. SEFT dan breathing exercises juga menunjukkan penurunan signifikan terhadap kecemasan pasien hemodialisis. Kesimpulan: Mindfulness meditation dapat menjadi intervensi nonfarmakologis yang efektif dalam mereduksi kecemasan pada pasien nefrolitiasis. Integrasi mindfulness dengan teknik relaksasi lain berpotensi memperbaiki kualitas hidup pasien serta dapat diimplementasikan dalam asuhan keperawatan

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of weight fraction in an epoxy-based composite reinforced with candlenut shell charcoal powder on mechanical properties, specifically shear strength and flexural strength. The filler consisted of candlenut shell charcoal powder with a particle size of 841 to 1190 μm. The candlenut shell charcoal to epoxy matrix ratios were varied at 55:45 %wt, 60:40 %wt, 65:35 %wt, 70:30 %wt, 75:25 %wt, 80:20 %wt, and 85:15 %wt. Composite specimens were prepared by homogeneous mixing, molding, and followed by room-temperature curing before mechanical testing. Mechanical characterization was conducted through flexural and shear tests using a Universal Testing Machine (UTM) with appropriate fixtures for each test method. The results indicate that increasing the filler fraction tends to reduce the mechanical performance of the composites. The highest flexural strength was obtained at 55:45 %wt by 16.63 MPa, while the lowest value was recorded at 85:15 %wt by 4.88 MPa. The highest shear strength also occurred at 55:45 %wt by 8.87 MPa and reached the minimum at 80:20 %wt by approximately 1.65 MPa, with a sharp decrease observed at 70:30 %wt. Overall, the findings demonstrate that increasing the candlenut shell charcoal powder fraction decreases both flexural and shear strengths. This degradation at high filler loadings is associated with reduced epoxy wetting of particles, increased agglomeration and porosity, and weakened load transfer across the filler–matrix interface. These results suggest that the composite formulation requires an optimum filler fraction and careful control of mixing and molding processes to achieve more stable mechanical performance.
