Abstract

This study aims to determine the digestibility of local female rabbit fed diet containing different levels offermented tofu waste. The study used a randomized block design (RBD), with five treatments and five blocks.The treatment was rabbits fed rations without using tofu waste or control fed (R0), rabbit fed rations containing10% tofu waste (R1), rabbit fed containing 15% tofu waste (R2), rabbit fed rations containing 10% fermented tofuwaste (R3) and rabbit fed rations containing 15% fermented tofu waste (R4). Variables observed were dry matterdigestibility, protein digestibility and efficiency of changes GE to DE. The results showed that rabbits fed ration R3and R4 caused dry matter digestibility, protein digestibility and efficiency of changes GE to DE were higher thantreatments R2, R1 and R0. It can be concluded that diets containing 10% up to 15% fermented tofu waste in rabbitrations can increase the digestibility of rations for local female rabbits.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan profil lemak hewani dari dua jenis daging babi daribangsa (breed) yang berbeda yaitu babi bali asli (babi lokal) dan babi landrace (babi ras). Penelitian ini dilaksanakandengan mengambil beberapa sampel daging babi bali dan babi Landrace. Daging yang diambil bersumber daridaging yang dijual di Rumah Potong Hewan Tradisional yang berlokasi di Banjar Pegending, Desa Dalung KutaUtara. Selanjutnya sampel daging dianalisis profil asam lemaknya dengan metode Gas Cromatografi di LaboratoriumTerpadu IPB Bogor. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa profil asam lemak penyusun daging babi bali aslimaupun daging babi landrace terdiri dari 10 asam lemak jenuh (Saturated Fatty Acids/SFA) yaitu asam caprik,asam laurat, asam miristat, asam pentadecanoat, asam palmitat, asam heptadecanoat, asam stearat, asam arachidat,asam behenik, asam caprilic, empat jenis asam lemak tidak jenuh tunggal (Mono Unsatured Fatty Acids/MUFA)yaitu asam palmitoleat, asam oleat, asam erucic, asam eiucosenoic dan 2 jenis asam lemak tak jenuh ganda (PollyAnsatured Fatty Acids/PUFA) yaitu asam linoleat, asam eicosedienoic. Abstract

Gliricidia (Gliricidia sepium) provenance Retalhuleu seed garden has been established in 1992 in dry land farming at Bukit Pecatu Village, Bukit Badung Peninsula, South Bali, at 100m sea level, on red-brown mediteran calcareous-base soil, with 1552 mm rainfall, distributed during 4 months wet season and 8 months dry season. The Completely Randomized Block Design Arrangement consisted of 60 famili(F) as treatments, 6 blocks as replications and 10 plants per treatment were used in this experiment. The first harvest was carried out in November 1995 and the subsequent harvest was carried out in October-November each year. Results of 11nd harvests (16 year plant age) on seed production and quality showed that famili F12, F17 and F51 (ranking order) could be registered (priority rights) as planting.

Abstract

Trees and shrubs plantation are very potential and important in producing sustainable green biomass, and have high protein content and high digestibility.  Some of them are legume which are important in catching nitrogen from the air to enriched the soil nitrogen. Trees are also catching more sun energy radiation which is latter converted into animal feeds. Other roles of this plant is part of them such as leaves, fruits, barks and roots containing saponin/sapogenin or tannin which are useful as defaunating agent. It was well documented that rumen protozoa reduced ruminant productivity. From the reports available either in vitro or in vivo it was proved that saponin could to some extent reduced or depressed protozoa rumen population. Indonesia needs some  experts effort to identify and recording those plants that could play roles as natural defaunating agent, as well as provide green biomass for ruminant. The overall conditions above will provide an ample opportunities for research for students or experties.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the digestibility of nutrient from kampung chicken that offered diets with different protein level. The research was conducted for 2 months at Research Station of Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University Located at Sesetan, Denpasar. This research used 54 kampung chickens (Gallus domesticus) with body weight 154 ± 3,295 g. The design used was Completely Randomized Design with three treatments, a rations containing 14.5% protein (R1), rations with 15.5% protein (R2), and rations with 16.5 % protein (R3). This study was conducted with six replications. Rations and water given by adlibitum. Variables of this research are consumption of diets and drinking water, dry matter digestibility, protein digestibility, and digestibility of metabolic energy. The results showed that fed ration iso calory containing 16,5% crude protein (R3) increasing animal feed consumption higher and significant different (P<0,05) compared with R1 and R2. Crude protein digestibility on R3 was higher and significant different (P<0,05) with R1, but not significant different (P>0,05) with R2. The consumption of drinking water on treatments R2 and R3 so higher (P<0,05) compared than R1. On dry matter and metabolism energy digestibility, fed all ration (R1, R2, and R3) were not significant different (P>0,05). It can be concluded that kampung chicken rations given iso energy with level protein 16.5% (R3) can increase consumption ration, consumption of water and protein digesbility. Abstract

The research was conducted to aim the correlation between stem diameter and height cut off plant to the production of Gliricidia sepium “provenance” Retalhuleu used alley cropping which planted in dry land. Research was conducted in Dusun Belawah Sari, Pecatu Village, South Kuta District, Badung Regency during the 6 months of the research. The research method used sample purposive random sampling survey method. The observed variables are plant height, stem diameter, number of branches, number of leaves, dry weight of branch, and dry weight of leaf. The data obtained were analyzed by description and correlation and multiple linear regression. The results showed that there was a significant multiple linear relationship between gamal (y) production with stem diameter (x1) and cut off plant height (x2). The production of forage gamal "provenance" Retalhuleu is positively correlated and low coefficient of determination (R2) value to forage production. Based on the research results can be concluded there is a positive or significantly relationship between stem diameter and height of plant on the production of forage Gliricidia sepium and but low contribution between stem diameter and height of plant to forage gamal production are low. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kualitas telur lima jenis ayam kampung yang memiliki warna bulu berbeda umur 24 minggu telah dilaksanakan di Stasiun Penelitian Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Udayana, Sesetan, Denpasar. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan lima jenis perlakuan yaitu perlakuan A (biying), perlakuan B (selem), perlakuan C (putih siungan), perlakuan D (putih kedas) dan perlakuan E (brumbun). Masing-masing perlakuan terdiri dari tiga ulangan, setiap ulangan menggunakan 1 ekor ayam. Variabel yang diamati adalah berat jenis, berat telur, tebal kulit telur, berat kulit telur, berat selaput telur, berat putih telur, berat kuning telur, indeks telur, indeks putih telur, indeks kuning telur, haugh unit, dan warna kuning telur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas telur pada variabel yang diamati secara statistik berbeda tidak nyata (P>0,05). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa kualitas telur bagian luar (berat jenis, berat telur, indeks telur) dan kualitas telur bagian dalam (tebal kulit telur, berat kulit telur, berat selaput telur, berat putih telur, berat kuning telur, indeks putih telur, indeks kuning telur, haugh unit, dan warna kuning telur ) tidak dipengaruhi oleh warna bulu ayam kampung.

Abstract

The activity aims to find out and assess the feeding management of broiler parent stock phase layer at PT. Charoen Pokphand Jaya Farm Unit 8 Probolinggo East Java in the implementation of student work practices/PKM at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University. Activities carried out through interviews, observation and direct work practices. The results of the activity showed that the feeding management of broiler parent stock phase layer at PT. Charoen Pokphand Jaya Probolinggo East Java Farm Unit 8 has been well implemented. The quality of feed is considered well and meets the needs of livestock. The feed given is feed into pellets "Charoen 535 CT" for males and "Charoen 534-2T" for females. The frequency of feeding is done once a day. Male feed is given as much as ± 161.3 g/head/day while for females given as much as ± 142.3 g/head/day. The prediction of consumption of nutrient broiler parent stock phase layer feed includes protein, fat, fiber, ash, calcium, and phosphorus for males, namely 22.6; 4.8; 9.7; 11.3; 1.5; and 0.97 g/head/day while for females that is 21.8; 4.3; 8.5; 17,1; 4.6; and 0.85 g/head/day. At PKM at PT. Charoen Pokphand Jaya Farm Unit 8, Probolinggo, East Java, students are actively involved in the whole series of maintenance and management activities of broiler parent stock. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the feeding management of broiler parent stock phase layer at PT. Charoen Pokphand Jaya Probolinggo East Java Farm Unit 8 has been implemented well, this is seen from high egg production, daily increase in body weight of chickens, and low mortality in chickens. Abstract

This study aimed to determine Feed Digestibility of Kampung Chicken (Gallus domesticus) Given Fermented Papaya Leaves (Carica papaya L.). This research was conducted at the Research Station of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, Sesetan, Denpasar, Bali. Nutrients analysis were conducted at Nutrition Laboratory of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments, namely; treatment A as control (ration without additional fermented papaya leaves), treatment B (ration was given 10% fermented papaya leaves), treatment C (ration was given 15% fermented papaya leaves), and treatment D (ration was given 20% fermented papaya leaves). Each treatment had 4 replications and each replication used 3 kampung chickens aged 10 weeks. The variables observed were digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, crude protein, and crude fiber. Data were analyzed using variance. The results showed that the feed digestibility of kampung chicken given fermented papaya leaves up to 20% had no significant effect (P>0.05) on all observed variables. It can be concluded that the chicken given fermented papaya leaves up to 20% give same effect on the feed digestibility of kampung chickens aged 10 weeks. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggantian tepung ikan dengan tepung keong mas dalam ransum terhadap organ dalam itik bali jantan. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalahRancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) terdiri dari 5 perlakuan yaitu penggunaan 15% tepung ikan dalam ransum sebagai kontrol (R0), penggunaan tepung keong mas dalam ransum sebanyak 25% sebagai pengganti tepung ikan (R1), penggunaan tepung keong mas dalam ransum sebanyak 50% sebagai pengganti tepung ikan (R2), pengunaan tepung keong mas sebanyak 75% sebagai pengganti tepung ikan (R3) dan penggunaantepung keong mas dalam ransum sebanyak 100% sebagai pengganti tepung ikan (R4). Masing-masing perlakuan menggunakan 4 blok sebagai ulangan, dan setiap blok berisi 1 ekor itik bali jantan umur 1 bulan. Variabel yang diamati yaitu meliputi persentase empedal, usus halus, usus besar, jantung, hati, pangkreas dan empedu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggantian tepung ikan dengan tepung keong mas dalam ransum dengan penggantian sampai 100% tidak berpengaruh (P>0,05) terhadap variable yang diamati dibandingkan dengan kontrol. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggantian sepenuhnya tepung ikan dengan tepung keong mas dalam ransum itik bali jantan umur 10 minggu memberikan pengaruh yang sama terhadap organ dalam itik bali jantan.
