Abstract

Accelerating the reduction of stunting is the government's focus in the health sector. However, the COVID-19 pandemic is one of the obstacles. Besides affecting health conditions in Indonesia, the pandemic also has an impact on the family economy, making it even more difficult to implement stunting prevention. So in this case, the community service team wants to provide education and training on the use of surrounding natural resources into nutrient-dense and selling-value food, especially in Bandar Lor village, which has the highest stunting incidence rate in Kediri city. Moringa leaves were chosen because, in addition to being dubbed as a superfood, Moringa leaves are safe to be consumed by children and pregnant women. Moringa leaves were processed into a mixture of soya milk, brownies, and nuggets which children like. During the training, participants seemed very enthusiastic about following the directions. It is hoped that this activity can help the community in processing the surrounding natural resources into nutrient-dense food as an effort to prevent stunting and also can become a new selling idea for a better economy.

Abstract

The pandemic period had a negative impact on several sectors, especially health sector where the examination of pregnant women becomes limited. Not only the time, but many of them feel afraid of contracting covid 19 when going to public health care. This causes the increased of risk for mothers and babies in the first 1000 days of life so that “Kampung Sayang Bunda” program was formed. The purpose of this program was to provide assistance to pregnant women by volunteer students. The knowledge of pregnant women was assessed and analyzed using the Wilcoxon test with a sig 2-tailed value of 0.002, of which 0.002 less than 0.005. this suggests that there was a significant association in the influence of assistance on maternal knowledge about how much important health in the first 1000 days of life

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding means breastfeeding until six months of age with no other additives except vitamins and medicine. Exclusive breastfeeding coverage in Kediri District (34.30%) is still below the national target (45%). Low breastfeeding coverage rates are influenced by many factors, including the history of childbirth and early initiation of breastfeeding. To prevent problems due to the failure of exclusive breastfeeding, this study was conducted to determine the relationship between the history of childbirth and early initiation of breastfeeding with exclusive breastfeeding. The sample size of the research was 49 respondents. The sampling method for this study used simple random sampling. The statistical test of chi square is used for data analysis. The results showed that most respondents had a history of spontaneous labor (69.4%) and early initiation of breastfeeding (69.4%), and also most respondents provided exclusive breastfeeding (51%). Statistical tests showed that there was no correlation between history of childbirth and exclusive breastfeeding (P 0.051) and there was a correlation between and early initiation of breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding (P 0.010). Therefore, it has been found that mothers who received early initiation of breastfeeding measures had a greater chance of being able to provide exclusive breastfeeding. Through early initiation of breastfeeding, babies were able to learn to suckle and become accustomed to sucking on nipples, and also helping mothers to prepare their bodies to produce breast milk so they could start providing breast milk to their babies as early as possible and increasing the chances of successful exclusive breastfeeding.

Abstract

Health development is essentially an effort carried out by all components of the Indonesian nation. It is hoped that the high maternal mortality rate during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum in Kediri Regency can help pregnant women to detect high risks during pregnancy and increase mother's knowledge in understanding the signs and dangers of pregnancy. This also supports the joint movement program to reduce maternal and infant mortality in Kediri Regency. Focus group discussions as a method of providing education to mothers in class II pregnant, are effective for assessing mother's knowledge about danger signs and high-risk pregnancies. From the target of 15 pregnant women, the results showed that there was a significant increase in the results of the pre and post test scores given. Where the low score on the pre test is 20% on the post test not found (0,) on the post test value. the average score in the pre-test was 33.3%, the post-test remained 33.3%, while the high score in the pre-test was 46.67%, the post-test increased to 66.67%. So it can be concluded that the class of pregnant women using the focus group discussion method is effective in assessing maternal knowledge in detecting high-risk pregnancies.

Abstract

Abstract

Based on data findings from the Jambi City Health Office, the Paal X Health Center experienced a significant downward trend in data and was the lowest health center in exclusive breastfeeding. Initial surveys conducted at the Paal X Health Center showed that there were several mothers who gave breast milk but were assisted by formula milk before the age of 6 months. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship of parity and husband support to exclusive breastfeeding. This type of research uses quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The research was conducted in June 2022 using incidental sampling. The sample amounted to 90 people. The results showed that there was a relationship between husband support and exclusive breastfeeding (p value = 0.000) and there was no relationship between parity and exclusive breastfeeding (p value = 0.098). It is recommended that the Paal X Health Center provide a more intensive socialization or counseling program for nursing mothers or pregnant women, as well as their families. So that not only in the health center, counseling outside the health center can also be done such as posyandu. Keywords: Exclusive breastfeeding, family support, parity
