The study employs a case study design with a qualitative approach, chosen for its ability to provide an in-depth understanding of how employees perceive and apply Sharia principles within the framework of Sharia-oriented HRM at the bank. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis involving a purposive sample of 15 employees from various positions within the bank, including staff and managers, with diverse lengths of service and demographic characteristics. Abstract

This study aims to analyze how social media, Twitter @BRGM Indonesia, is used as a communication medium for disseminating information and outreach and environmental campaigns related to peatland restoration and mangrove rehabilitation. This study uses a qualitative research approach with data analysis using the Nvivo 12 Plus software. This type of research data uses secondary data obtained and collected from @BRGM Indonesia’s twitter activity from March 2019 to October 2021, while supporting data is obtained from literature and social media. The research findings show that social media Twitter @BRGM Indonesia in its tweets is dominated by information related to peat restoration rather than mangrove rehabilitation. The findings reinforce that the previous BRGM was a BRG that focused on restoring peat after the great fires in 2015, and was considered to have completed its task in 2020, then added workload to rehabilitate mangroves. But the use of @BRGM Indonesia’s social media Twitter, still needs to be more effective, and the interaction only focuses on government agencies. At the same time, the information contained in the tweets mentioned does not match the contents.

Abstract

This paper explores challenges of modernization theory in Uganda by analyzing its conceptual distinctions and theoretical frameworks. Modernization theories are typically categorized into 'critical variable' and 'dichotomous' approaches, each defining modernization through specific social changes or the acquisition of modern attributes by traditional societies. Drawing on works by theorists like Schwartz and Levy, the critique examines how these frameworks inadequately capture Uganda's complex modernization realities. The study aims to provide a nuanced understanding of modernization's applicability to Uganda's development trajectory. Methodologically, it employs a comprehensive review of scholarly literature and theoretical analysis. The findings underscore the limitations of prevailing modernization theories in explaining Uganda's development and suggest implications for policy and practice. This analysis contributes to ongoing debates on development theories and their relevance in diverse global contexts, advocating for more context-sensitive approaches to understanding and promoting socio-economic progress in Uganda.

Abstract

This study analyzes the differences in the development of e-government in Singapore and Afghanistan using the E-Government Development Index (EGDI) indicators which include the Online Services Index (OSI), Human Capital Index (HCI), and Telecommunication Infrastructure Index (TII). The findings show that Singapore's success in e-government is underpinned by strategic investments in ICT infrastructure, the adoption of innovative policies such as the "Smart Nation," and sustainable human resource development. In contrast, key challenges in Afghanistan include political instability, corruption, limited basic infrastructure, and low levels of digital literacy, all of which hinder the implementation of e-government. In addition, the study reveals the importance of a cross-sectoral approach and community engagement to create an inclusive digital ecosystem, an aspect that is not measured in the EGDI framework. This research offers new insights into digitalization strategies that developing countries can implement to accelerate their digital transformation.

Abstract

The original Javanese culture of the communities in Java has been running for decades, meaning that this culture has been very rich in elements of universal culture such as the system of social organization, knowledge, arts, religion, and language. Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Palace plays an essential role as the center and cultural resource owned by the city of Yogyakarta; one of the areas that are still famous for its cultural guardians, traditions, and behaviors of an ancestor. This research used qualitative methods to obtain data through literature reviews and interviews. Literature review and interview results then became analytical material and adapted to the existing frame of thought as a result of the library studies conducted at the beginning. Then after the analysis process was completed, the results were obtained. This research revealed that the Javanese culture in the people of Yogyakarta affected the political ideology because when speaking about Javanese culture, three aspects cannot be separated in the Javanese community, especially Yogyakarta, Javanese culture, Belief, and religion. A contest will always be syncretism, cannot be constantly intact on assimilation, and acculturation is even alienated (to be drawn). As long as the Javanese people still exist, the Javanese culture will remain alive and develop when the relics of letters, dialectics, and cultures still exist.
