Abstract

Students of the Islamic memorization program at Ummul Qura Islamic boarding school experience various academic pressures that can lead to stress. This pressure arises when students experience difficulty memorizing, are unable to achieve memorization targets, and face dense learning activities in the Islamic boarding school environment. This condition requires students to have good stress coping skills in order to be able to manage the pressure experienced adaptively. In this context, the role of ustazah as educators and mentors is very important in helping students develop stress coping skills during the process of memorizing the Qur'an. This study aims to determine the forms of stress experienced by Islamic memorization students, the stress coping strategies used, and the role of ustazah in developing stress coping for students at Ummul Qura Islamic boarding school, Tanah Jambo Aye District, North Aceh Regency. The scope of the study focuses on the experiences of stress among Islamic memorization students and the role of ustazah in providing guidance, mentoring, and emotional and spiritual support. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. The research subjects consisted of 2 ustazah and 6 Islamic memorization students selected through a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was conducted through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that students experience stress in the form of academic, emotional, physical, and behavioral pressure. To overcome this stress, students use problem-focused coping, emotion-focused coping, and spiritual coping strategies. In addition, the female teacher acts as a guide, motivator, and role model through a personal approach, emotional support, and reinforcement of spiritual values that help students manage stress and maintain emotional balance during the process of memorizing the Quran.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran relawan dalam pemanfaatan play therapy serta dampaknya terhadap pemulihan psikologis anak korban banjir di Gampong Lubok Pusaka, Kecamatan Langkahan, Kabupaten Aceh Utara. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi terhadap relawan, anak-anak, serta orang tua. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman, sedangkan keabsahan data dijaga melalui triangulasi sumber dan teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa relawan memiliki peran multidimensional sebagai fasilitator, pendamping psikologis, dan motivator dalam pelaksanaan play therapy. Kegiatan bermain yang dirancang secara terstruktur dan adaptif mampu menciptakan ruang aman bagi anak untuk mengekspresikan pengalaman traumatisnya. Dampak dari intervensi ini ditandai dengan menurunnya gejala kecemasan, meningkatnya stabilitas emosi, serta berkembangnya kembali kemampuan interaksi sosial anak. Anak yang sebelumnya menunjukkan perilaku menarik diri, ketakutan berlebih, dan kesulitan mengekspresikan emosi secara bertahap menjadi lebih ceria, komunikatif, dan mampu beradaptasi dengan lingkungan. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa play therapy merupakan pendekatan efektif dalam intervensi psikososial pascabencana serta memberikan kontribusi praktis dalam pengembangan layanan bimbingan dan konseling berbasis kebencanaan melalui optimalisasi peran relawan.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the picture of weak learning motivation in students at SMK Negeri 4 Aceh Barat Daya, and the forms of cooperation carried out by guidance and counseling teachers with parents in improving student learning motivation. This research used a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis method. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation involving one school counselor, five parents, and five students selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis followed three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that students’ learning motivation is weak across all four dimensions of Gowing’s model: achievement drive, commitment, initiative, and optimism. The school counselor has implemented a tiered collaboration with parents through WhatsApp and telephone communication, official written notices, home visits, and individual and group meetings. This collaboration has yielded positive outcomes, particularly in improving student attendance, although it remains largely incidental and reactive. The study recommends developing a more proactive, scheduled, and digitally-supported collaboration program.
