Abstract

Abstract Mangrove ecotourism at Bancaran Beach Bangkalan is a new destination managed by a group of tourism-aware youth (Pokdarwis) with topography of mangrove, estuary and sea. Observation results showed that the facilities and infrastructure in this new ecotourism were not adequate, such as mangrove plants that don’t yet present a name so that it’s difficult to be recognized by tourists both in type and benefit and parking lots and toilets that only use the property of the RPH. The problem is the manager wants to develop it but doesn't have a plan or picture yet. Therefore, it’s necessary to provide assistance by the Unesa Biology PKM Team in order to develop it so that Ecotourism is more attractive, provides comfort and educates visitors, and improves the welfare of the surrounding community. The method used in this activity includes 3 stages, namely preparation, implementation, and monitoring. In the implementation of the PKM team, they provide assistance in the form of developing a mangrove ecotourism model through inspection and inventory of vegetation as well as the facilities and infrastructure that will be developed. The resulting design can be used as a document by Pokdarwis to develop it by offering the development plan through funding assistance to BUMN or the local government. Abstract

Critical thinking has important applications in every area of life and learning and is allegedly the main theme and goal of achieving competence in learning. Critical thinking can be taught through learner-centered interactive learning using learning tools that are relevant to the attributions of achievement of critical thinking skills. This study aims to develop a conceptual framework for evaluative-process learning tools based on conceptual-problem-based learning models to train students' critical thinking. The conceptual framework in question is a hypothetical evaluative-process framework based on the CPBL model, this is supported by the accompanying textbook mode. This study is a preliminary research (develop preliminary form of product). The product in question is an evaluative-process tool based on the CPBL model to train students' critical thinking. In accordance with the objectives of this study, the hypothetical framework was developed based on: a) research and information collecting; and b) planning. Research and information collecting is based on several aspects that have been carried out by researchers, namely a review of literature, classroom observation, and preparation of a state-of-the-art report. While in the planning process, defining skills and stating objectives determining course sequence have been carried out, where in the study conducted, critical thinking skills have been determined as the main aspect of the objectives of development, and the CPBL model has been determined as the basis model in the development of evaluative-process tools. The focus in this study covers two main aspects, namely developing a hypothetical evaluative-process framework based on the CPBL model and developing a textbook framework as an evaluative-process supporting tool based on the CPBL model.

Abstract

One of the efforts to deal with environmental pollution by exploring natural potentials and traditions in the local community is ethno-conservation education. This study aims to develop a flipbook of environmental pollution handling based on Surabaya's local wisdom to train students in Ethno-conservation. The type of research is Research and Development with the ADDIE model of Branch theory. Theoretical feasibility is reviewed from the results of expert validation, while empirical feasibility is examined from the readability test. The data obtained were analyzed by descriptive qualitative. The results obtained are a validation score of 3.88, a percentage of 97% and the category is excellent, and the legibility test is at level 10. Hence, the Flipbook has the potential to be used in learning the handling of environmental pollution based on Surabaya local wisdom to train students in ethno-conservation.

Abstract

Implementasi pendidikan belum sepenuhnya fokus untuk membimbing siswa dalam menelaah permasalahan ekosistem serta konsekuensinya, ditandai dengan rendahnya daya serap materi ekosistem dalam UN dan keterampilan berpikir kritis menurut survei OECD. Maka, dibutuhkan bahan ajar yang mampu memfasilitasi kegiatan berpikir secara mandiri dalam bentuk e-modul yang memuat kegiatan penyelesaian masalah dengan mengikuti sintaks problem-based learning (PBL). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan e-modul ekosistem berbasis PBL untuk melatih keterampilan berpikir kritis mengikuti prosedur pengembangan ADDIE. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan instrumen lembar validitas oleh pakar pendidikan, pakar materi, dan guru biologi, serta menggunakan lembar angket untuk mengetahui kepraktisan e-modul berdasarkan penilaian dari siswa. Data yang diperoleh lalu dianalisis deskriptif kuantitatif menggunakan skala Likert dan skala Guttman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan e-modul dikategorikan sangat valid berdasarkan tinjauan konten, presentasi, dan kebahasaan dengan rata-rata skor 3.78, serta dinyatakan sangat praktis dengan skor 96.94%. Dengan demikian, e-modul ekosistem berbasis PBL dinyatakan layak untuk melatih keterampilan berpikir kritis, serta berpotensi diterapkan oleh satuan pendidikan untuk membentuk siswa yang kritis akan permasalahan ekosistem.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis menjadi tuntutan yang harus dimiliki siswa pada abad ke-21 ini agar siap menghadapi persaingan kerja, akademik, dan kehidupan. Beberapa indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis di abad 21 yang harus dikuasai siswa adalah interpretasi, analisis, evaluasi, interferensi, penjelasan, dan regulasi diri. Penggunaan e-book sebagai sumber belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran biologi yang dikembangkan khusus untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis dapat menjadi opsi solusi dalam melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Model pembelajaran problem based learning yang memiliki sintaks terkenal mampu melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa digunakan sebagai basis e-book yang dikembangkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan e-book berbasis problem based learning pada materi perubahan lingkungan untuk melatihkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas X SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan 4-D (define, design, develop, dan disseminate), tanpa tahap disseminate. Parameter yang diukur adalah validitas dan kelayakan empiris. Validitas didapatkan dari hasil validasi dosen ahli materi dan dosen ahli pendidikan. Kelayakan empiris didapatkan dari hasil uji coba dan respon siswa. Uji kelayakan empiris dilakukan terhadap 15 siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Surabaya dengan menggunakan produk yang dikembangkan lalu meminta tanggapan dari penggunaannya melalui angket yang terdiri dari 14 butir pertanyaan. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi dan angket respon siswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode validasi dan angket. Teknis analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif. e-book yang dikembangkan memuat materi perubahan lingkungan dengan mengaplikasikan tahapan model pembelajaran problem based learning. Penelitian menunjukkan e-book yang dikembangkan validitasnya mendapatkan skor 93,75 dengan interpretasi sangat valid, dan kelayakan empiris sebesar 94% dengan interpretasi sangat layak digunakan. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa e-book berbasis problem based learning pada materi perubahan lingkungan yang dikembangkan ini mampu melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas X SMA. Implikasi produk e-book yang dikembangkan adalah secara praktis dapat digunakan oleh guru dalam pembelajaran biologi SMA untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi perubahan lingkungan. Abstract

Abstrak Salah satu yang menunjang perkembangan pembelajaran pada abad 21 adalah tersedianya buku ajar yang menunjang siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kegiatan yang mencerminkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dan indikator keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa yang ada pada buku Biologi SMA kelas X. Metode dalam penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yaitu penelitian yang memberikan paparan dari hasil data yang diperoleh yaitu aktivitas melatihkan berpikir kritis siswa. Sasaran dalam penelitian ini adalah bahan ajar yang dikembangkan oleh penulis/guru Biologi di kelas X SMA/MA dengan menerapkan kurikulum 2013. Tahap pelakasanaan peneliti 1) melakukan analisis KD, indikator, dan tujuan; 2) mengidentifikasi aktivitas-aktivitas yang dilakukan siswa dalam buku; 3) mengidentifikasi aktivitas-aktiitas tersebut dalam kategori keterampilan berpikiri kritis; 4) mengusulkan aktivitas-aktivitas keterampilan berpikir kritis sesuai KD yang belum ada dalam buku tersebut. Data yang berupa aktivitas berpikir kritis dan jumlah indikator berpikir kritis dianalisis menggunakan metode deskriptif . Dari 18 KD dan 9 materi yang ada dalam kurikulum 2013 revisi Kelas X menjadi dasar pengembangan buku Biologi Kelas X SMA/MA teridentifikasi 14 kegiatan yang mencerminkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan Indikator berpikir kritis adalah 5 indikator yaitu eksplanasi, interpretasi, analisis, evaluasi dan inferensi. Kata Kunci: Buku ajar, Ktererampilan Berpikir kritis, Biologi Abstract One that supports the development of learning in the 21st century is the availability of textbooks that support students. This research aims to identify activities that reflect students' critical thinking skills and indicators of students' critical thinking skills that exist in class X Biology textbooks. The method in this study is a descriptive study that is research that provides exposure to the data obtained by activities that train students' critical thinking . The targets in this study are teaching materials developed by Biology writers / teachers in class X SMA / MA by applying the 2013 curriculum. Researching stage 1) conducting an analysis of Basic Competencies, indicators, and objectives; 2) identify activities undertaken by students in books; 3) identify these activities in the category of critical thinking skills; 4) propose critical thinking skills activities according to Basic Competencies that are not yet in the book. Data in the form of critical thinking activities and the number of critical thinking indicators were analyzed using descriptive methods. From 18 Basic Competencies and 9 materials in the 2013 revised Class X curriculum to be the basis for the development of Class X Biology books SMA / MA identified 14 activities that reflect critical thinking skills and critical thinking indicators are 5 indicators namely explanation, interpretation, analysis, evaluation and inference . Abstract

Tuntutan pembelajaran abad ke-21 meliputi dorongan untuk peserta didik dalam mempelajari materi melalui contoh, implementasi dan pengalaman secara nyata di dalam maupun luar sekolah. Kejadian luar biasa yang mewabah di seluruh dunia tidak terkecuali Indonesia pada akhir tahun 2019 yaitu, Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) yang berpengaruh dalam proses pembelajaran secara langsung. Dalam pemenuhan tuntutan yang menjadi bagian dari kerangka pelaksanaan kurikulum 2013 tersebut tentu melibatkan pemanfaatan teknologi secara tepat, terjangkau dan berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan dan mendeskripsikan kelayakan powerpoint interaktif add-ins classpoint secara teoritis dan empiris dikaji dari hasil validitas para ahli dan hasil respon peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan model ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) yang dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dengan validitas oleh dosen ahli media, dosen ahli materi dan guru biologi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Jurusan Biologi, FMIPA, UNESA dan dilakukan uji coba terbatas pada 10 peserta didik MA Negeri Bangkalan. Berdasarkan kelayakan teoritis powerpoint yang dikembangkan rata-rata persentase yang didapatkan sebesar 97,53% pada hasil validitas. Sedangkan kelayakan empiris rata-rata persentase yang didapatkan sebesar 97,72% dari hasil respon peserta didik. Dengan demikian, media powerpoint interaktif add-ins classpoint sangat layak untuk diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran materi bioteknologi kelas XII SMA/MA. Hasil dari penelitian ini bermanfaat dalam peningkatan motivasi belajar dan penguasaan peserta didik terhadap materi pembelajaran serta powerpoint ini juga dapat diterapkan pada materi lainnya dengan fitur pendukung yang terdapat di dalamnya.

Abstract

Objective: This study describes the validity of inquiry-based environmental change textbooks used to train students' scientific literacy skills. The validity of the developed inquiry-based textbooks is viewed from the aspects of content feasibility, presentation feasibility, linguistic feasibility, inquiry suitability, and scientific literacy. Method: This study used the development method with the 4D model (define, design, and develop), which was modified and implemented in the Science Education Postgraduate Program at Surabaya State University. The data collection technique was carried out using the textbook validation method. The assessment instrument used was a textbook validation sheet that two biology lecturers validated as validators. Data analysis was carried out quantitatively and descriptively. Results: The research results are in the form of validation of inquiry-based textbooks, with an average score of 94.88% in the very valid category. Novelty: The novelty of this research is that there are inquiry-based features in textbooks about environmental change that can improve students' scientific literacy skills. Based on the data analysis, the developed inquiry-based textbooks are valid and suitable for learning.

Abstract

The teacher's ability to manage the class, specifically in the choice and use of learning models and media, is one of the causes of low motivation and poor learning results among students. Through the use of the problem-based learning approach and video media, this study seeks to improve the motivation and academic performance of class XI high school students. Class action research (PTK), which is conducted in two cycles with phases of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection, is this sort of study. The proportion of learning motivation was measured using the angket non-test method, and the results for cognitive learning were measured using the daily repetition test method with 35 students in high school's 11th grade. In the first cycle, the student participants' implementation of learning using the problem-based learning model and the motivational learning activity resulted in a score of 76.6% with sufficient good criteria, and in the second cycle, participants who experienced improvement received a rating of 90.3% with excellent criteria. The percentage of learning motivation as measured by four factors, attention, relevance, condifence, and satisfaction was rated at 58.49% in cycle I with a fairly high criterion and increased to 73.28% in cycle II. The cognitive learning outcomes of the students scored 65.71% in the first cycle of classical intensity and improved to 91.42% in the second cycle. The adoption of a learning model supported by video media can enhance the motivation and learning outcomes of students in grades XI high school, according to the research's findings.

Abstract

Vlog (Video Blog) media is creative content presented by vloggers which are packaged in the form of videos with blog-like characteristics but the appearance and presentation are made as attractive and as good as possible for further distribution to students to facilitate the learning process. Vlog media developed using Problem Based Learning (PBL) in which at each stage there are indicators of critical thinking skills that are trained. The focus of this research is on environmental change material. This research aims to produce Vlog media based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) on environmental change material to train valid and practical students' critical thinking skills. The parameters measured in media validity are content feasibility, presentation, discussion, and suitability for the PBL stage as well as critical thinking indicators. While the parameters for practicality are the implementation of the learning stages and student responses to the characteristics of Vlogs in learning. Data analysis from validation results, implementation of learning activities, and student responses in a quantitative descriptive manner. This research is development research that refers to the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research was piloted on a limited basis with 20 10th grade students at Al-Islam Krian High School. The validation results show that the Vlog media is considered very valid with a validation score of 86%. The practicality of Vlog media is measured based on the implementation of Vlog media in learning with very practical results for use in learning with a 98% implementation and student responses with an average score of 86% in the very practical category. Thus the PBL-based Vlog media is stated to be very valid and practical to use in learning about environmental change topics.
