Abstract

Objective: This research aims to assess the scientific literacy of State Junior High School 1 Ngoro students in integrated science learning using the webbed type with a permaculture theme and the BRADeR model. Method: This descriptive quantitative study involves 80 students from State Junior High School 1 Ngoro: 16 from class IX-A (limited trial) and 64 from IX-B and IX-C (broader trial). Data collection was conducted using a science literacy competence test instrument consisting of 10 essay questions designed according to three dimensions of scientific literacy proficiency. The validity assessment by three experts showed that 9 out of 10 questions scored an average of 4, categorizing them as "very valid," while 1 question was also deemed "very valid." The reliability assessment using Cronbach's Alpha indicates good dependability. Data analysis utilized inferential statistics to assess the viability of webbed-type integrated science learning on permaculture and the BRADeR model in improving students' science literacy. Results: Findings indicate a notable enhancement in science literacy, presenting a mean n-gain of 0.73, which is categorized as high. The most significant enhancement was in articulating scientific phenomena, next was experimental design and data analysis. A moderate enhancement was observed in investigating, applying, and evaluating scientific knowledge for decision-making. Novelty: This research examines improvements in science literacy and emphasizes the need for multimedia and multimodel approaches through integrated science learning using the webbed type and BRADeR model.

Abstract

Literasi sains merupakan kompetensi penting yang harus dimiliki siswa untuk memahami, menerapkan, dan mengambil keputusan berdasarkan pengetahuan ilmiah dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Hasil PISA menunjukkan bahwa tingkat literasi sains siswa Indonesia masih rendah, terutama akibat pendekatan pembelajaran yang kurang kontekstual, khususnya pada materi ekosistem yang bersifat kompleks. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini, dikembangkan e-book berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) yang dirancang untuk melatihkan literasi sains melalui keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam memecahkan masalah lingkungan sekitar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan serta menguji validitas dan kepraktisan e-book interaktif pada materi ekosistem. Penelitian dilakukan di SMAN 1 Krian dengan pendekatan Research and Development (R&D) model 4D dengan tahap define, design, develop, dan disseminate dengan melibatkan 35 siswa kelas X-12 sebagai subjek. Data dikumpulkan melalui uji validitas, angket respons siswa, uji keterbacaan, dan wawancara, menggunakan instrumen berupa lembar validasi, angket, dan soal tes. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa e-book memiliki tingkat validitas sangat tinggi dengan skor 96%, dinilai praktis berdasarkan respons positif siswa sebesar 90,9%, serta memiliki tingkat keterbacaan pada level kelas 10 menurut Grafik Fry. Dengan demikian, e-book ini dinyatakan valid dan praktis untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran ekosistem guna melatihkan literasi sains siswa.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi di era society 5.0 mendorong pembelajaran yang inovatif guna menumbuhkan sikap mandiri dan kemampuan reflektif peserta didik. Keterampilan metakogntif yang melibatkan perencanaan, pemantauan, dan evaluasi pemahaman dinilai penting dalam meraih tujuan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengimplementasikan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik Elektronik (E-LKPD) berbasis strategi Know-Want-Learned (KWL) dalam melatihkan keterampilan metakognitif peserta didik pada submateri Pencemaran Lingkungan di kelas X SMA. Strategi KWL diintegrasikan dalam E-LKPD untuk mendorong keterlibatan aktif peserta didik dengan menggali pengetahuan awal (Know), menetapkan keingintahuannya (Want), dan merefleksikan hasil belajarnya (Learned). Bahan ajar ini diuji coba secara terbatas di kelas X-1 SMA Labschool Unesa 1 dengan menerapkan metode Research and Development (R&D) menggunakan model pengembangan 4D (Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate). Parameter yang diukur adalah validitas dan keterbacaan E-LKPD. Validitas E-LKPD ditinjau berdasarkan penilaian validator terhadap syarat didaktik (isi), konstruksi (kebahasaan), teknis (penyajian). Keterbacaan E-LKPD ditinjau berdasarkan angket respon yang diisi oleh peserta didik. Data dianalisis menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata validitas E-LKPD 1 dan E-LKPD 2 mencapai 100% dan 99,75%, yang tergolong dalam kategori sangat valid untuk digunakan. Hasil keterbacaan berdasarkan respons peserta didik mencapai 100%, yang tergolong dalam kategori sangat baik. Dengan demikian, E-LKPD berbasis KWL yang dikembangkan layak untuk diaplikasikan sebagai bahan ajar digital yang mendukung keterampilan metakognitif peserta didik.

Abstract

Pendidikan memiliki peran penting dan menjadi pilar utama pencapaian tujuan Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), khususnya poin keempat mengenai pendidikan berkualitas. Pada abad ke-21, peserta didik diharuskan mempunyai keterampilan 4C yaitu critical thinking, creative thinking, communication, dan collaboration. Berpikir kritis merupakan keterampilan yang dibutuhkan untuk menunjang pendidikan pada abad 21. Keterampilan tersebut dapat dilatihkan melalui pembelajaran berbasis Project Based Learning (PjBL) dengan menggunakan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik Elektronik (E-LKPD) sebagai media pembelajaran. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan mengembangkan media pembelajaran E-LKPD berbasis PjBL untuk melatih keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik yang layak digunakan. Metode penelitian yang diterapkan yaitu model ADDIE karena langkah-langkah pengembangannya yang bersifat deskriptif dan sistematis. Kelayakan E-LKPD dalam penelitian ini ditinjau berdasarkan validitas dan keterbacaan E-LKPD dengan menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMA Labschool Unesa 1 dengan mengujicobakan E-LKPD secara terbatas pada 20 peserta didik kelas X. Hasil penelitian berdasarkan aspek validitas mendapat presentase 100% terkategori valid dan aspek keterbacaan berdasarkan angket respon peserta didik dengan presentase 100% terkategori sangat praktis. Dengan demikian, E-LKPD berbasis PjBL untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis yang dikembangkan dinyatakan layak untuk dapat digunakan pada pembelajaran. Education plays an important role and is the main pillar in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially the fourth point regarding quality education. In the 21st century, students are required to have 4C skills, namely critical thinking, creative thinking, communication, and collaboration. Critical thinking is a skill needed to support education in the 21st century. These skills can be trained through Project Based Learning (PjBL)-based learning using Electronic Student Worksheets (E-LKPD) as a learning medium. This study aims to develop E-LKPD learning media based on PjBL to train students' critical thinking skills that are suitable for use. The research method applied is the ADDIE model because the development steps are descriptive and systematic. The feasibility of E-LKPD in this study is reviewed based on the validity and readability of E-LKPD using quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The research was conducted at SMA Labschool Unesa 1 by testing E-LKPD limitedly on 20 grade X students. The results of the study based on the validity aspect obtained a percentage of 100% categorized as valid and the readability aspect based on the student response questionnaire with a percentage of 100% categorized as very practical. Thus, E-LKPD based on PjBL to train critical thinking skills that are developed are declared feasible to be used in learning.

Abstract

Forest vegetation plays a crucial role in mitigating global climate change through carbon sequestration. The Universitas Negeri Surabaya campus forest has significant potential as a carbon sink, particularly through tree species belonging to the Fabaceae family. This study aimed to analyze carbon stocks in Fabaceae trees within the campus forest as an effort toward environmental conservation. Carbon stock estimation was carried out using a non-destructive approach through allometric equations, focusing only on above-ground biomass. The research was conducted in the campus forest area targeting Fabaceae species. Parameters measured included tree trunk diameter at 1.3 meters above ground level, secondary data on wood specific gravity, and leaf chlorophyll content. Data analysis was performed using the Pearson correlation test to determine the relationship between morphological and physiological characteristics of trees and their stored carbon stock. The results showed that the Unesa campus forest contained 4 species and 52 individual trees. The average carbon stock per tree was 213.96 kg C tree⁻¹ year⁻¹, and the total carbon stock in the observed area reached 992.79 kg/ha. Pearson correlation results indicated a positive relationship between morphological and physiological characteristics and carbon stock (Sig. 0.31). Based on these findings, Fabaceae species are recommended as effective contributors to environmental conservation strategies to reduce carbon emissions. These trees also support campus greening programs and align with the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Abstract

Pembelajaran abad 21 menekankan bahwa pembelajaran harus mengajarkan empat keterampilan, salah satunya yaitu berpikir kritis. Keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik di Indonesia masih tergolong rendah. Hal itu dapat disebabkan oleh penggunaan model atau pendekatan pembelajaran yang kurang merangsang keaktifan belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan enam komponen CTL yaitu constructivisme, questioning, learning community, modelling, reflection, dan authentic assessment, tanpa komponen inquiry. Pendekatan CTL melalui komponen yang dimiliki dapat melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis, yang pada penelitian ini diaplikasikan dalam bentuk sumber belajar elektronik yaitu e-book. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan e-book keanekaragaman hayati berorientasi CTL untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis yang valid berdasarkan validasi pakar dan praktisi. Jenis penelitian yaitu pengembangan menggunakan model 4D (Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate). Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan metode validasi yaitu metode untuk memperoleh data terkait tingkat kevalidan atau kelayakan e-book. Data hasil validasi kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase kriteria kelayakan penyajian 98,61%, kelayakan isi 97,92%, kelayakan kebahasaan 97,57%, kesesuaian dengan komponen CTL 100%, dan kesesuaian dengan indikator keterampilan berpikir kritis 100%, sehingga persentase validitas secara keseluruhan sebesar 98,82%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut disimpulkan bahwa e-book keanekaragaman hayati berorientasi CTL untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dinyatakan sangat valid berdasarkan validasi pakar dan praktisi. Abstract

Abstrak Literasi sains adalah keterampilan yang menjadi salah satu tuntutan pada abad ke-21 untuk melatih siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah berdasarkan ilmu sains. Tingkat literasi sains siswa di Indonesia termasuk rendah. Melatihkan literasi sains dapat dilakukan melalui sumber belajar yang digunakan siswa seperti e-book. Materi keanekaragaman hayati dapat melatihkan literasi sains karena mengaitkan antara pengetahuan dasar siswa dengan lingkungan nyata di sekitar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan e-book yang valid dan praktis untuk melatihkan literasi sains pada materi keanekaragaman hayati. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model 4D yang terdiri atas tahap define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Parameter dalam penelitian ini adalah validitas, kepraktisan, keterbacaan, respons guru, respons siswa. Validitas e-book diperoleh berdasarkan hasil validasi oleh validator pada aspek penyajian, isi, dan kebahasaan. Kepraktisan e-book diperoleh dari keterlaksanaan e-book, keterbacaan e-book, respons guru, dan respons siswa. Kepraktisan e-book ditunjukkan melalui keterlaksanaan e-book diperoleh persentase skor sebesar 98,68% (sangat praktis) dengan nilai rata-rata, keterbacaan e-book pada level 10, respons guru mendapatkan persentase skor sebesar 100%, dan respons siswa diperoleh skor sebesar 97,68% (sangat positif). E-book yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid dan praktis untuk digunakan sebagai sarana dalam melatihkan literasi sains siswa. Kata Kunci: Sumber Belajar, E-book, Keanekaragaman Hayati, Literasi Sains. Abstract Scientific literacy is a skill that is one of the demands of the 21st century to train students to solve problems based on science. The level of scientific literacy of students in Indonesia is low. Practising scientific literacy can be done through learning resources used by students such as e-books. Biodiversity material can train scientific literacy because it links students' basic knowledge with the real environment around them. This research aims to produce a valid and practical e-book to train scientific literacy on biodiversity material. This research is development research with a 4D model consisting of define, design, develop and disseminate stages. The parameters in this research are validity, practicality, readability, teacher response, and student response. The validity of the e-book is obtained based on the results of validation by the validator on aspects of presentation, content and language. The practicality of e-books is obtained from the implementation of e-books, readability of e-books, teacher responses, and student responses. The practicality of e-books is shown through the implementation of e-books, obtaining a percentage score of 98.68% (efficient) with an average score, readability of e-books at level 10, teacher responses getting a percentage score of 100%, and student responses getting a score of 97.68% (very positive). The e-book developed was declared valid and practical for use as a means of training students' scientific literacy. Keywords: Learning Resources, E-book, Biodiversity, Science Literacy.

Abstract

The development of teaching materials that are integrated with local wisdom is needed as a teaching tool to support learning using the Merdeka curriculum. To practice some of these skills, teaching materials are needed that support the application of the Merdeka curriculum for learning activities. This research aims to determine the theoretical feasibility of teaching materials in the form of environmental change e-books based on problem based learning integrated with local wisdom in Malang Raya. This research uses the ADDIE model with analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation stages. Data was obtained from validation results by two biology lecturers and readability tests. The environmental change e-book developed has very valid criteria. The validation results are based on aspects of presentation, content, suitability of problem based learning steps. E-book readability test at level 11 or according to the level of thinking of class X high school students which is categorized as very positive and appropriate. So, it is concluded that the environmental change e-book based on problem based learning integrated with Malang Raya local wisdom is very suitable to be applied in the learning of class X high school students.

Abstract

This study aims to measure students' scientific literacy of science concepts, especially environmental pollution. This study assesses the scientific literacy of eighth-grade students’ using a quantitative descriptive method, with a sample selected through random sampling. Data were collected through a scientific literacy test focused on environmental issues and reinforced with interview and students’ respons. The science literacy test contains 10 double-choice questions that have been validated and tested for reliability. The research results revealed that students' scientific literacy in three competencies falls within the profience category, specifically: explain phenomena scientifically (72%), construct and evaluate designs for scientific inquiry (53%), and research, evaluate and use scientific information (69%). The average scientific literacy score was 67%, indicating that junior high school students' scientific literacy needs improvement in competency 2. The findings of Indonesian students' performance in this assessment highlight the need to improve learning strategies to strengthen students' ability to engage in critical scientific investigations.
