Abstract

Perkembangan pendidikan pada abad ke-21 mengalami banyak perubahan dan berpengaruh dalam perkembangan kurikulum, salah satunya yaitu kurikulum merdeka belajar. Kurikulum merdeka belajar merupakan suatu pendekatan baru dalam sistem pendidikan di Indonesia yang memberikan kebebasan kepada siswa dalam menentukan jalannya pembelajaran. E-modul diperlukan sebagai bahan ajar yang dapat menunjang pelaksanaan kurikulum tersebut. E-modul merupakan bahan ajar berbentuk digital yang bisa dipelajari secara mandiri oleh siswa. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan tujuan dunia pendidikan abad ke-21 dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis adalah model inkuiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan teoretis e-modul berbasis inkuiri materi perubahan lingkungan untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas X. Penelitian ini menggunakan model 4D yaitu define, design, development, tanpa disseminate. Data didapatkan dari hasil validasi oleh dua dosen biologi dan satu guru biologi SMA. E-modul berbasis inkuiri yang dikembangkan memiliki kriteria sangat valid dengan skor rata-rata keseluruhan sebesar 3,89 yang apabila dipersentasekan memiliki nilai sebesar 97,25%. Hasil validasi tersebut didasarkan pada aspek penyajian, isi, kesesuaian langkah inkuiri, aspek berpikir kritis, dan kebahasaan. Sehingga disimpulkan bahwa e-modul berbasis inkuiri ini layak secara teoretis dan dapat digunakan oleh siswa kelas X SMA. Abstract

Literasi sains menjadi keterampilan abad 21 yang disyaratkan untuk dikuasai oleh peserta didik. Keterampilan literasi sains dapat dilatihkan dengan menerapkan pembelajaran berbasis SETS yang mengaitkan aspek ilmu pengetahuan sains, lingkungan, teknologi dan masyarakat. Sub materi pencemaran lingkungan merupakan materi yang dapat melatihkan literasi sains karena mampu mengaitkan konsep informasi dasar yaitu berupa pengetahuan awal yang telah dimiliki untuk membantu siswa dalam memahami permasalahan lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan E-LKPD berbasis SETS pada sub materi pencemaran lingkungan yang valid dan praktis untuk melatihkan keterampilan literasi sains. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan 4D (define, design, develop, dan disseminate). Validasi diukur berdasarkan hasil validasi oleh validator, kepraktisan diukur berdasarkan observasi keterlaksanaan dan respons peserta didik. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan E- LKPD dinyatakan sangat valid yaitu sebesar 3,93 dengan persentase 98,15%. E-LKPD dinyatakan sangat praktis ditinjau dari hasil observasi keterlaksanaan dengan persentase 93,75% dan respon positif sebesar 95,5%. Disimpulkan bahwa E-LKPD yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid dan praktis digunakan dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to determine the improvement of students' critical thinking skills on solar system material in the project-based learning (PjBL) learning model with a differentiated approach. According to PISA, the results of observations in class VII State JHS 13 Madiun and interviews with several science teachers, Indonesian students' science skills are in a low category. Therefore, an appropriate learning model is needed to facilitate students to improve their critical thinking skills. Methode: This research is classified as a type of quantitative research. The subjects in this study were 30 students of class VII A at State JHS 13 Madiun city and science teachers at JHS 13 Madiun city. Results: The analysis showed that this study's increase in pretest and posttest scores was high, with an N-gain value of 0.72. This study also shows that PjBL learning intensely impacts the critical thinking skills of junior high school students in solar system material with a d-effect size value of 0.79. Novelty: The novelty of this research is to collaborate the PjBL learning model with a differentiated approach. In this study, the syntax of PjBL learning collaborates with a differentiation approach that can facilitate all student characteristics. Project creation in this learning is done based on students' learning style characteristics.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to determine the achievement of scientific literacy skills of junior high school students in the competency aspect. The competency aspects measured in this study are the competence to explain scientific phenomena, interpret data and scientific evidence, and evaluate and design. Methods: The research was conducted using the test method. The data was collected using a competency aspect scientific literacy test using a multiple choice test of 20 items on the scientific literacy test. The sampling technique used stratified random sampling, amounting to 67 students. Data analysis techniques using quantitative descriptive. Results: Based on the research conducted by the results of data analysis, it was found that the scientific literacy aspect of students' competence was included in the low category, with an overall average of 55.15%. The aspects of scientific literacy competency measured in this study are explaining scientific phenomena, interpreting data and scientific evidence, and evaluating and designing. The results of each scientific literacy competency indicator are as follows: (1) students' ability to explain scientific phenomena, the average percentage only reaches the deficient category; (2) students' ability to interpret data and scientific evidence in the deficient category and (3) students' ability to evaluate and design in the deficient category. Novelty: This study reveals an urgent need to develop appropriate innovations, methods, and designs to improve students' science literacy, especially the learning models used. These findings encourage teachers to improve learning continuously.

Abstract

Objective: This research aims to explore improving critical thinking skills by applying Project Based Learning (PjBL) based on the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) model in Renewable Energy material at 1st Trowulan State Vocational School. The main aim of this research is to assess the effectiveness of STEAM-based PjBL in improving students' critical thinking skills at 1st Trowulan State Vocational School Trowulan. Method: The research method used was an experiment with a One Group Pre-test and Post-test design. The research subjects comprised 25 students of Class X Computer and Network Engineering 1 (X-1) and 26 students of Class X Computer and Network Engineering 1 (X-2). During the research, students were given PjBL-based learning with a STEAM approach to Renewable Energy material. Before and after learning, students are tested using a pre-test and post-test to measure the increase in their critical thinking skills. Results: The analysis shows that implementing PjBL-based learning based on STEAM is efficacious in improving students' critical thinking abilities. A comparison of pre-test and post-test scores on Renewable Energy material shows a significant increase in students' critical thinking abilities. Novelty: The novelty of this research lies in its new contribution to the field of education. The combination of the PjBL and STEAM approaches in learning Renewable Energy makes a new contribution to preparing students to face real-world challenges that continue to develop. Critical thinking ability is an essential skill in facing the challenges of the 21st century, and this research shows that this approach is practical in developing it. Integrating critical thinking skills into STEAM-based learning provides essential added value in education.

Abstract

Objective: This research aims to analyze the profile of students' critical thinking abilities in physics learning, especially electromagnetic material, with the help of a problem-based learning model implemented at a university in Surabaya, Indonesia. Method: The research method used was included in preliminary research with a sample of 19 students. Data collection techniques use critical thinking skills tests, student response questionnaires, and lecturer interviews. Then, the data was analyzed using qualitative descriptions to represent the research results. Results: Analysis shows students' critical thinking skills are still relatively low. Critical thinking indicators that get an average score from high to low are interpretation, analysis, inference, and evaluation. An alternative that can be done to increase students' interest and critical thinking skills is to apply the PBL model in physics learning. Novelty: The novelty of this research lies in its new contribution to mapping students' initial abilities regarding their critical thinking skills with the help of the PBL model. This mapping helps lecturers evaluate physics learning, especially electromagnetic material, and determine what future steps can be taken to improve students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) can be trained through concepts in science learning generally, and biology in particular. Teacher competence to facilitate students skilled HOTS can be improved through scientific forums, one of which is training and workshops. This activity is an alternative for teachers to refresh their understanding and pedagogical skills and build enthusiasm through various modeling and information to generate motivation. Training activities on the preparation of argumentative questions to train HOTS for Davao Indonesian School Teachers of Philippines were held in two stages, the first stage was carried out synchronously through online meetings using Zoom Meeting, while in the second stage, training was carried out asynchronously using Google Classroom. Trainees' responses to the implementation of the training were netted with an online questionnaire using Google Form. The data were analyzed in a quantitative descriptive. The results of this study showed that all participants rated that the material presented by the resource persons was good, which included material on HOTS, STEM approaches, and argumentative thinking. In addition, participants also gave positive responses to the workshop on developing argumentative questions, the ability of resource persons, and the technical implementation of the training. Participants hope that this activity can be followed up with offline training.

Abstract

Environmental pollution is a problem with chain effects has consequences for various aspects of life. One of the contributors to environmental pollution problems is human activity, including production, consumption, and distribution. The consequences of environmental problems that occur require environmental literacy skills as a basic ability that everyone must have to understand that they have a role in solving environmental problems as an effect of every action they take. These abilities need to be trained from an early age through optimizing the role of educational institutions. Through it, the process of forming students basic thinking regarding environmental literacy can be an indicator of achieving quality education goals in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point number four. Quality learning that is able to achieve the stated learning objectives needs to be supported by LKPD as teaching materials to make the process more effective. This research aims to produce valid, appropriate virtual field trip LKPD products and describe the validity of their environmental pollution material to develop high school students' environmental literacy. The research method used is research and development (RnD) with a 4D research design. The validation data processed using quantitative descriptive methods. This research produced virtual field trip LKPD with average overall validation score of 4.3 and very valid interpretation, so it can be concluded that the virtual field trip LKPD is valid and suitable for use in learning environmental pollution material to develop high school students' environmental literacy.

Abstract

Pembelajaran pada era-21 mengharuskan siswa untuk dapat menguasai kemampuan 4C (Critical Thinking- Problem Solving, Communication, Collaboration, Creativity) yang dapat dilatihkan dengan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Namun, kenyataannya banyak sekolah di Indonesia yang belum optimal memberdayakan keterampilan berpikir kritis pada siswa. Oleh karena itu, dilakukan penelitian dengan tujuan menghasilkan flipbook berbasis inkuiri sebagai media pembelajaran materi perubahan lingkungan yang layak dari uji validitas, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan guna melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Penelitian ini mengacu pada model pengembangan 4D (define, design, develop, dan disseminate) tanpa tahap disseminate. Uji validitas flipbook dilakukan oleh tiga validator, yakni dosen ahli materi, dosen ahli pendidikan dan satu guru biologi. Data hasil kepraktisan diperoleh dari observasi keterlaksanaan aktivitas siswa oleh tiga pengamat, serta angket respon siswa. Pengambilan data keefektifan flipbook dilakukan dengan perhitungan gain score melalui tes hasil belajar siswa menggunakan pre-test dan post-test. Analisis data pada penelitian ini dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif dengan perolehan validitas flipbook yang menunjukkan hasil kategori sangat valid dengan persentase 96%. Uji kepraktisan flipbook terintegrasi dalam kategori sangat praktis dengan nilai 98% pada observasi keterlaksanaan aktivitas siswa dan 95% pada angket respon siswa. Uji keefektifan flipbook menunjukkan hasil persentase 90% dengan kategori sangat efektif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa flipbook berbasis inkuiri pada materi perubahan lingkungan untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dinyatakan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran ditinjau dari aspek validitas, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan. Abstract

Basically, the learning process for students is carried out in order to achieve learning outcomes with the help and encouragement of the teacher. Many teachers still use conventional methods in teaching, which can make students less interested and less motivated to learn. Thus, in order to optimize learning outcomes, teachers must use the latest approaches. This study aims to produce a flipbook based on Problem Based Learning on ecosystem material to train students' science literacy. The research method used is R&D (Research and Development). The flipbook based on Problem Based Learning on ecosystem material was tested on one class consisting of 30 students of class X SMAS Hang Tuah 4 Surabaya with a limited trial. The method used is the Four-D Model method. This study used student samples from two classes with different treatments. Data collection in this study consisted of validation techniques, observation, test, and questionnaire. The results showed that the validity of the flipbook reached 3.9 (very valid), the implementation of learning with flipbooks during classroom learning showed a value of 90% (very high category). This study shows that there are differences between classes X-5 and X-2 (t count 2.025> t table 2.003). The result of this study is that the treatment given to class X-5 gets a higher score and gets a score of 86.5 (value> 75) or above the minimun completeness criteria. The conclusion of this research is that flipbook are feasible and can be used in biology learning ecosystem material.
