Abstract

The implementation of Problem Based Learning (PBL) supported by a metacognitive approach has the potential to not only improve student learning outcomes but also develop Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) abilities. This study aims to examine the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model with a metacognitive approach on student learning outcomes and self-regulated learning on Virus material. The study used a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research subjects consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class given PBL treatment with a metacognitive approach, and the control class using the discovery learning model. Data analysis used an independent sample t-test and Pearson product moment with a significance level of 0.05. The results of the study on the effect of the application of PBL with a metacognitive approach on learning outcomes showed a sig. 0.00 <0.05. The results of the study on SRL showed that it was in the sufficient category. The results of the study on the relationship between SRL and learning outcomes showed a sig. 0.00 <0.05. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the application of the PBL model with a metacognitive approach has an effect on students' SRL abilities and learning outcomes. The SRL category of students in the experimental class was higher than that of the control class and was in the sufficient category. There is a significant relationship between SRL and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The low learning motivation of students is a classic problem that often occurs in the teaching and learning process and has an impact on learning outcomes. One way that can be used by teachers in solving motivational problems and student learning outcomes is by applying innovative learning media such as e-modules combined with guided inquiry learning models. This study aims to determine differences in learning motivation, differences in increasing learning outcomes and the relationship between motivation and student learning outcomes through the application of e-modules combined with guided inquiry on the material structure and function of plant tissue. This research is quantitative with experimental research methods and research design Pre-test Post-test Control Group Design. The population in this study were 214 students from class XI IPA at SMAN 1 Darul Imarah and SMAN 1 Peukan Bada Aceh Besar. The research sample consisted of 121 students who were divided into two classes, namely the control class and the experimental class. The parameters of this study are the motivation and learning outcomes of students. The instrument for measuring motivation used 36 items of the ARCS motivational questionnaire, while learning outcomes were measured using 40 multiple choice tests. The increase in learning outcomes is calculated by the N-gain formula. Data analysis to see differences in motivation and differences in increasing learning outcomes used Mann Whitney test analysis, while analysis of the relationship between motivation and learning outcomes used Pearson's Product Moment correlation analysis. The results showed that there were differences in students' learning motivation (p <0.05), there were significant differences in increasing learning outcomes (p <0.05), there was a significant relationship between motivation and student learning outcomes. The conclusion of this study is that there are differences in motivation and differences in the increase in student learning outcomes after applying learning using e-modules combined with guided inquiry.

Abstract

The Control of Culex sp. using synthetic larvicides is harmful to the environment and human health. Biolarvicide from red shoot leaves (Syzygium myrtifolium) is a safe alternative for the environment and human health. This study aims to determine the effect of Syzygium myrtifolium leaves extract with ethanol solvent and water solvent on larval mortality and the LC50 values of these extracts. ANOVA test results (α = 0.05) on the mortality of Culex sp. larvae exposed to the ethanol extract and aqueous extract of S. myrtifolium leaves consecutively showed F-calculated (287)>F-tabulated (3,11) and F-calculated (153)>F-tabulated (3, 11). The treatment of S. myrtifolium leaves extract with ethanol and water solvents had a significant effect on the mortality of Culex sp. larvae. The LC50 value of the ethanol extract and the aqueous extract of S. myrtifolium leaves are 1659 ppm and was 2053.7 ppm. It can be concluded that S. myrtifolium leaves extracts with ethanol solvent and water solvent have an effect on the mortality of Culex sp. larvae, but are not yet effective as biolarvicide

Abstract

The andragogy approach is learning that directs students to independently solve problems. Students' low solving skills can be seen from the lack of student activity in the learning process resulting in low learning outcomes. The aim of the research is to determine the effect of the andragogy approach on students' problem solving skills in biology learning. The method used is quasi experimental. The research design is a pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. The research population was biology teachers in class XI and class XI high school students, totaling 239 people. The sample used a purposive sampling technique with a total of 144 students. Data on problem solving skills using case study questions and teacher interviews. Data analysis used the normalized gain test and independent sample t-test. The results of data analysis show that there is a significant difference between the average N-gain with a result of P = 0.001. The teacher's perspective shows that the andragogy approach improves students' problem solving skills. The research conclusion is that there is an influence of the andragogy approach on students' problem solving skills in biology learning.

Abstract

The excretory system material requires visualization to enhance understanding. To help students grasp the concepts of the excretory system more effectively, the various organs of the excretory system must be illustrated in the learning material. Therefore, learning animations are needed that can display images created with augmented reality media, appearing almost lifelike in 3D form. This study aims to analyze the application of augmented reality animation media in improving learning outcomes and the difference in students' interest before and after learning about the excretory system with augmented reality animations. The method used is a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consists of 54 students from SMA Negeri 1 Ingin Jaya Aceh Besar, selected using random sampling techniques. Data were collected through multiple-choice tests and a questionnaire on students' interest in the excretory system material. The data were analyzed using a t-test, showing a significant difference in learning outcomes in the experimental class with a p-value < 0.05 (0.022 < 0.05), and a significant difference in students' interest before and after the learning process in the experimental class with a t-test result of p < 0.05 (0.037 < 0.05). It can be concluded that the application of augmented reality media can enhance learning outcomes and affect students' interest in the excretory system material.
