Abstract

This research aims to analyze the concept of the Islamic Golden Age abbreviated as IGA, which is agreed upon by Western scholars and Muslim scholars and occurred in the history of Islamic culture and civilization. This research examines the possibility of grounding the characteristics and scientific paradigm of IGA in modern situations through several focuses of study, namely (1) the background of the development of the IGA concept, (2) the stage of development of the IGA concept, (3) the position of scientific activities in the map of cultural constellation (culture) and civilization (civilization) IGA, and (4) the characteristics and scientific paradigm of IGA. These four things are considered to be able to trigger the development stage of scientists, sciences, and inventions. The method used in conducting the research is descriptive-analytic of literature sources. This is done as a mapping of the entire overview of the IGA concept. This research approach is a history approach, both through a diachronic history approach and a synchronic history approach. In addition, it refers to the development of theories obtained deductively through literature studies. The basis of the research is then strengthened by conducting a form of inductive reasoning on the data obtained in this research in order to solve the final conclusions that are based on the data obtained.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research aims to explore the history of the arrival of the first wave of Ahlul Bait in Aceh-Sumatra. The wave will technically relate to the history of the founding of the earliest Islamic sultanates in the Aceh-Sumatra between the 8th and 9th centuries AD, such as the Jeumpa sultanate and the Perlak sultanate. The research is based on historical interpretation in the form of classical Acehnese and Malay manuscripts from tertiary historical sources. However, the research still leave problems in the detailed area which are not yet completely accurate and precise. So, even though we have found a common thread that can be mutually agreed upon, attention to areas of detail that are not yet completely accurate and precise, still needs to continue to be explored and its findings improved. As for the shortcomings, they can be remedied by reading the narrative interpretations of classical texts more holistically and coherently to produce narratives that are clearer and clearer in their construction, both in terms of chronology and in terms of interpretations of the agents or apparatus of the establishment of the sultanates.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the process of Islamization in Sundanese Tatars through a cultural approach as a complement to the limitations of historical evidence, focusing on the role of myths, proverbs, and proverbs in reflecting the cultural readiness of the community The research uses a qualitative method with a cultural analysis approach to Sundanese mythical texts and proverbs that represent the value system and mentality of the community. The findings show that Sundanese myths and proverbs contain values that describe the psychological and cultural readiness of the community to accept the teachings of Islam. The internality of these values shows that Islamization in Sundanese Tatars occurred through a subtle, integrated, and organically occurring cultural process in people's lives. Islamization in Sundanese Tatars does not only depend on historical figures and events, but also on the acceptance of people's culture as reflected in oral traditions. The cultural approach has proven to be able to fill the historiographical gap and provide a more complete understanding of the process of spreading Islam in this region.
