Abstract

Olahraga menjadi suatu kebutuhan agar tetap menjaga kesehatan dan kebugaran tubuh. Remaja putri seringkali mengharapakan citra tubuh yang baik. salah satu upaya untuk mendapatkan citra tubuh yang baik yaitu dengan olahraga secara rutin. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh kombinasi lari, sit-up, push up dan squat terhadap penurunan berat badan dan lingkar perut mahasiswi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 4 pekan, mulai 29 Januari sampai 22 Februari 2019. Penarikan sampel dilakukan dengan cara purposive sampling dan desain penelitian ini adalah quasy experiment study. Responden adalah 36 mahasiswa perempuan program studi ilmu gizi Universitas Negeri Medan yang berusia 19-21 tahun.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) terjadi peningkatan signifikan terhadap rata-rata putaran lari, rata-rata repetisi push up, sit up, dan squat pada awal dan akhir latihan, (2) terjadi penurunan berat badan dan lingkar perut pada pengukuran sebelum dan sesudah program, (3) penurunan signifikan rata-rata berat badan responden hanya terjadi pada pekan ke 3, (4) tidak ada hubungan erat antara latihan yang dijalani dengan perubahan berat badan dan lingkar perut.

Abstract

Nutritional counseling is an essential component of nutrition students to be equipped to address nutritional problems. The objective of the study was to analyze the correlation of nutrition students for teaching presence perception in blended learning to improve the learning outcomes of nutritional counseling stages. The study used a cross-sectional research design, nutrition students in nutritional counseling courses completed the 13-item Community of Inquiry (COI) questionnaire for teaching presence. The results showed that students had higher agreement across the level of teaching presence. The findings of this study suggest that perceived teaching presence was significantly related to improving the learning outcomes of nutritional counseling stages.

Abstract

As the prevalence of obesity continues to rise, including in adult workers, workplace-based interventions are needed to promote a healthy diet and prevent obesity. Valid measurement of dietary patterns is necessary to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of these interventions. Therefore, this study analyzed the validity of the Modern Dietary Pattern Factor Score (MDP-FS) as a proxy indicator of obesity among Indonesian adult workers. This cross-sectional study used the fifth wave of the Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS) for sociodemographic, dietary, and anthropometric measures. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was used to assess the ability of MDP-FS to detect obesity. The Area Under the Curve (AUC) of MDP-FS was 87% (95%CI 86-88.1%). At the MDP-FS cut-off of 5.2, the sensitivity and specificity of MDP-FS to indicate obesity were 74% and 76%, respectively. MDP-FS have good accuracy as a proxy indicator for measuring obesity of adult workers in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the drying temperature of keji beling leaf herbal tea which is preferred by panelists as well as its nutritional content, pottasium and antioxidant activity content. The research design used was an experimental study using a completely randomized design (CRD) method with a single factor, the drying temperature of keji beling leaf  which was carried out with 4 treatments,  P1 = 35°C, P2 = 45°C, P3 = 55°C, and P4 = 65°C which was dried for 150 minutes each using a dehydrator. The results of the study were analyzed using the Kruskal Wallis test method with the Mann-Whitney follow-up test. Determination of the best herbal tea was chosen based on the highest average value for each parameter. Based on the research results, the chosen treatment was P3 with a drying temperature of 55°C. The nutritional content of keji beling leaf herbal tea treated with a drying temperature of 55°C is potassium (21,8 mg/100 g), water content (12%), water extract content (2,92%), ash content (14,8%), water soluble ash content (0,37%), acid insoluble ash content (0,32%), ash alkalinity (63,1 ml NaOH/100 g), crude fiber (34,6%), and polyphenols (7,67%). Antioxidant activity based on the IC50 value is 106,3570 ppm.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Proses penilaian status gizi yang dilakukan oleh kader di posyandu dapat menjadi sumber data awal dalam mengidentifikasi masalah gizi pada balita khususnya stunting. Pengukuran panjang atau tinggi badan di posyandu di wilayah kerja Poskesdes Bandar Setia masih menggunakan alat metline yang kurang cocok untuk melakukan pengukuran panjang atau tinggi badan. Meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader terkait penilaian status gizi balita dan interpretasinya. Tim pengabdian memberikan pendampingan mengenai cara melakukan penilaian status gizi yang tepat beserta interpretasinya terutama untuk mengukur panjang atau tinggi badan dalam menentukan stunting atau tidaknya balita yang diukur. Selain itu, tim pengabdian memberikan alat pengukur tinggi badan dan lingkar kepala untuk melengkapi alat pengukuran status gizi yang sudah tersedia di posyandu. Setelah mengikuti kegiatan pendampingan tersebut, pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader terkait cara penilaian status gizi meningkat. Harapannya setelah dibekali cara penilaian dan pelaporan status gizi balita, para kader dapat membantu mengidentifikasi baduta yang berisiko mengalami stunting di posyandu masing-masing untuk diberikan intervensi pencegahan stunting. Pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader terkait penilaian status gizi balita dan interpretasinya meningkat. Lebih lanjut kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat membantu program pemerintah dalam menurunkan prevalensi stunting di Indonesia, khususnya di Desa Bandar Setia. Kata Kunci: Balita, Kader Posyandu, Stunting  ABSTRACT The nutritional assessment by cadres in Posyandu might provide preliminary information for identifying nutritional problems in under-five children, particularly stunting. Measurement of length or height at the posyandu in the Bandar Setia Poskesdes working area still uses a tape measure which is unsuitable for measuring length or height. Improve the knowledge and skills of cadres related to the nutritional assessment of under-five children and their interpretation. The team provided assistance on how to conduct a proper nutritional assessment and its interpretation, especially for measuring length or height in determining whether or not the measured toddler is stunted. In addition, the team provided height and head circumference measuring devices to complement the nutritional status measurement tools already available at the posyandu. After participating in the mentoring activities, the cadres' knowledge and skills related to nutritional assessment increased. It is anticipated that after learning how to assess and report the nutritional status of toddlers, cadres can help identify under-fives at risk of stunting in their respective posyandu to be given stunting prevention interventions. The cadres' knowledge and skills related to the assessment of the nutritional status of children under five and its interpretation increased. Furthermore, this activity is expected to help government programs in reducing the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia, especially in Bandar Setia Village. Keywords: Children, Posyandu, Stunting

Abstract

Background: The increasing prevalence of obesity has become a significant public health concern in Indonesia, particularly among urban workers who often lead sedentary lifestyles and adopt unfavorable dietary patterns. Objectives: To analyze the correlation between dietary patterns, physical activity levels, and obesity among urban workers in Indonesia. Methods: Major dietary patterns were derived using principal component analysis from a 17-item food frequency completed by urban workers in the fifth wave of Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS). Self-reported physical activity is assessed by the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ). Height and weight were measured to determine nutritional status based on Body Mass Index (BMI), which is then categorized into obese and non-obese urban workers. The association between dietary patterns, physical activity levels, and obesity was analyzed using logistic regression. Results: A total of 10,381 urban workers participated in the study. Four major dietary patterns were identified: a Western dietary pattern characterized by a high intake of fast food, meat, sugary snacks, dairy, and soft drinks; a prudent dietary characterized by fruit and vegetables; a modern dietary pattern characterized by instant noodles, fried snacks, and eggs consumption; and a traditional Indonesian pattern characterized by rice, vegetables, sambal (chili sauce), and fish consumption. Participants adhering to the Western dietary pattern had higher odds of obesity. In contrast, those adhering to the prudent dietary pattern and active physical activity showed lower odds of obesity. Conclusions: Western dietary patterns are associated with an increased risk of obesity, while prudent dietary patterns and active physical activity are inversely associated with obesity in Indonesian urban workers.

Abstract

Generasi Z atau iGeneration berkaitan dengan kemampuan mereka dalam menggunakan dan memanfaatkan teknologi. Selama masa hidupnya, orang-orang di usia ini tidak hanya mengalami banyak perubahan dalam hidupnya. Tujuan dari tinjauan literatur ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi gaya hidup Generasi Z dalam konteks tingkat stres, kualitas tidur dan perilaku makan serta dampaknya terhadap status gizi mereka. Tinjauan literatur ini menggunakan literatur eksplorasi non-sistematis yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan platform basis data elektronik seperti Google Scholar, Pubmed/Medline, dan Google. Kata kunci seperti generasi Z, remaja, stres, kualitas tidur, perilaku makan, dan status gizi beserta sinonimnya digunakan untuk pencarian melalui metode pencarian Boolean. Kajian literatur menunjukkan bahwa Generasi Z di Indonesia memiliki prevalensi kelebihan berat badan dan obesitas yang meningkat. Generasi Z yang saat ini berusia remaja dan mahasiswa mengatasi stres dengan makan secara tidak terkendali karena dipengaruhi oleh emosi dan hal ini jika terjadi terus menerus akan mempengaruhi status gizi. Selain itu, status gizi juga dapat dipengaruhi secara langsung oleh ritme sirkadian tubuh (kualitas tidur) dan melalui perantara perilaku makan. Kualitas tidur yang menurun berhubungan dengan penurunan kadar leptin dan peningkatan kadar ghrelin, yang meningkatkan nafsu makan. Kualitas tidur, stres, dan perilaku makan semuanya berhubungan dengan status gizi pada Generasi Z, baik melalui perantara perilaku makan, maupun secara langsung. Gaya hidup Generasi Z harus menjadi perhatian karena mereka berisiko lebih tinggi terkena PTM saat dewasa.

Abstract

Introduction: The prevalence of stunting among children aged 24-60 months is a critical public health concern including in the Puskesmas Siempat Rube working area. Inadequate maternal knowledge about balanced nutrition and inappropriate feeding practices can contribute to the incidence of stunting. Objective: To analyze the relationship between maternal knowledge of balanced nutrition and maternal feeding practice on the incidence of stunting in children aged 24-60 months in the Puskesmas Siempat Rube working area. Method: This cross-sectional study was conducted in December 2023. The research sample consisted of 43 participants selected using purposive sampling. Balanced nutrition knowledge scores were categorized into poor, sufficient, and good; meanwhile, the higher the score for feeding practice, the better the mother's feeding practice was assumed. Height was assessed based on the TB/U indicator and categorized into stunting and not stunting. Hypotheses were analyzed using logistic regression tests, with statistical significance set at p < 0.05. Result: The prevalence of stunting in this study was 69.8%. Most mothers had insufficient knowledge of balanced nutrition (90.7%), and the average feeding practice score was 58.4. Maternal knowledge of balanced nutrition and maternal feeding practice are significantly related to the incidence of stunting in children aged 24-60 months in the Puskesmas Siempat Rube working area (p < 0.05). Maternal knowledge of balanced nutrition and maternal feeding practice act as protective factors against the incidence of stunting. The odds of children aged 24-60 months experiencing stunting were 0.056 times lower if their mothers had sufficient knowledge of balanced nutrition compared to mothers with poor knowledge. Similarly, each 1-point increase in a mother's feeding practice score could reduce the incidence of stunting by 0.910 times compared to mothers with a feeding practice score one point lower. Conclusion: Maternal knowledge of balanced nutrition and maternal feeding practice are significantly associated with the incidence of stunting in children aged 24-60 months in the Puskesmas Siempat Rube working area.

Abstract

Atlet adalah pengolahraga yang mengikuti pelatihan secara teratur dan kejuaraan dengan penuh dedikasi untuk mencapai prestasi, yang harus memperhatikan komposisi tubuh dan asupan makanan, terutama sarapan pagi yang dibutuhkan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan energi saat latihan di pagi hari. Sehingga dapat memiliki kebugaran fisik yang baik pada saat latihan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan komposisi tubuh dan asupan energi sarapan dengan kebugaran fisik atlet cabor atleltik Pelatda PON Sumatera Utara. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross-sectional, sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling yaitu sebanyak 34 orang. Teknik penumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara (food recall) selama 3 hari, pengukuran komposisi tubuh dengan Bioeletrical Impedence Analysis (BIA), dan tes kebugaran fisik (bleep test). Analisis bivariate dilakukan pada hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan uji Pearson Product Moment dan Spearman-rank. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat hubungan antaralemak visceral (r=-0,573 & p=0,000) dan rasio otot kerangka (r=0,513 & p=0,002) dengan kebugaran fisik. Sedangkan untuk hubungan asupan energi sarapan dengan kebugaran fisik tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan dengan r=0,051 & p=0,774.

Abstract

Kebugaran fisik yang tinggi sangat dibutuhkan atlet untuk mencapai suatu prestasi. Kebugaran dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor antara lain body fat percentage atlet. Diawali dari pengamatan tatkala mereka latihan, ditemukan beberapa orang atlet memiliki tubuh yang cukup gemuk. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi body fat percentage dengan kebugaran atlet atletik Peltda PON Sumut. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian korelasional yang menghubugkan antara variabel bebas dan variabel terikat. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh atlet atletik Pelatda PON Sumut yang berjumlah 34 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini adalah total sampling. Hasil analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan Uji Korelasi Pearson Product Moment melalui aplikasi SPSS. Hasil analisis  data menunjukkan nilai koefisien korelasi (r) sebesar -0,679.  Berdasarkan interpretasi Gulford Empirical Rules memiliki makna adanya hubungan yang sedang atau cukup. Tanda negatif pada hasil analisis menunjukkan hubungan yang berlawanan yaitu semakin tinggi nilai body fat percentage maka akan semakin rendah kebugaran fisik atlet tersebut. Hasil signifkansi (p) 0,000 menunjukkan angka lebih kecil dibandingkan dengan 0,05 (α) maka dapat disimpulkan hipotesis nol ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif diterima yaitu berarti terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara body fat percentage dengan kebugaran fisik atlet dengan nilai p=0,000 < 0,05 (α). Penelitian ini dapat membawa manfaat bagi atlet, pelatih/peneliti, PASI maupun masyarakat
