Abstract

The role of the river as a site for riverine activities has a huge impact on the economic sustainability of the community and the riverine ecosystem. The Silugonggo River is the only river in Pati Regency that is a very densely populated shipping route. This research was conducted along the Silugonggo River from the Juwana Bridge to the estuary. The purpose of this study was to determine ship activity in the Silugonggo River, determine the feasibility of facilities at Juwana Port and analyze environmental conditions along the Silugonggo River. The method used is a qualitative method with observation techniques and laboratory analysis, which is carried out by observing and recording conditions in the field systematically using primary data in the form of water conditions and secondary data in the form of ship activity and construction data. The results showed that the activities in the port of Juwana include mooring, loading and unloading of goods, ship repair and refuelling of ships. The level of water pollution in the Silugonggo River at 5 sampling points shows that the oil content in the water for points 1, 3, 4 and 5 is still considered safe because it is below the quality standard, but the oil content at point 2 has a very high value from the set quality standard which is 20 mg/L. The pollution that occurs is caused by shipping activities that dump waste into the water and fuel filling activities.Keywords:marine polutionportriverwater qualityoil spill

Abstract

Pencemaran adalah terkontaminasinya suatu lingkungan oleh benda-benda yang tidak bisa diurai oleh alam secara cepat, menurut Peraturan Pemerintah No.9 Tahun 1999 tentang Pengendalian Pencemaran dan perusakan Laut adalah masuknya atau dimasukannya makhluk hidup, zat energi dan/atau komponen lain ke dalam lingkungan laut oleh kegiatan manusia sehingga kualitasnya turun sampai ke tingkat tertentu yang menyebabkan lingkungan laut tidak sesuai lagi dengan baku mutu dan/atau fungsinya. Oleh sebab itu Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang sebagai lembaga pendidikan tinggi bidang maritim memiliki tiga tugas pokok dalam Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, yaitu pendidikan dan pengajaran,penelitian dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat menjadi tugas pokok dari Pusat Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat. Tema yang diambil pada kegiatan ini adalah pencemaran laut dan perlindungan lingkungan maritim bagi masyarakat nelayan di wilayah kerja Unit Penyelenggara Pelabuhan kelas III Juwana.

Abstract

Peringatan Day of the Seafarer tahun 2022 di lingkungan Badan Pengembangan Sumber Daya Manusia Perhubungan bertujuan mengedukasi dan meningkatkan pemahaman keselamatan pelayaran bagi nelayan Karimunjawa sebagai bagian dari upaya pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Acara ini melibatkan kepala lembaga terkait, narasumber berpengalaman dalam pelayaran, dan sesi tanya jawab interaktif. Hasil survei menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman keselamatan pelayaran lebih dari 90%. Tingginya antusiasme peserta dan motivasi untuk menerapkan pengetahuan ini sehari-hari mencerminkan efektivitas metode sosialisasi, sejalan dengan temuan penelitian terdahulu yang menyoroti partisipasi masyarakat dalam membangun kesadaran akan isu-isu penting, termasuk kebersihan pantai, tumbuh kembang anak, dan promosi destinasi wisata. Kesimpulannya, pendekatan partisipatif dalam sosialisasi keselamatan pelayaran membawa perubahan nyata dan berkelanjutan dalam pemahaman serta implementasi isu-isu keselamatan pelayaran dan isu-isu masyarakat yang relevan.

Abstract

Shipping activities are one of the causes of marine pollution. The frequent occurrence of pollution in the sea by garbage from ships requires prevention and control efforts. This is what was done by MT. Petromax as a commercial ship operated to transport Crude oil cargo both domestically and abroad. This research aims to examine the implementation of the ship garbage management system mechanism on MT. Petromax in an effort to preserve the maritime environment. The method used is descriptive qualitative with observation and document study approaches. The results showed the efforts of MT. Petromax in preventing and overcoming the pollution of marine debris with the Garbage Management Plan. Garbage management carried out by MT. Petromax is processing garbage through two efforts i.e. 1) garbage management with incinerators, 2) management handling garbage on board and 3) garbage management with Garbage Boat for disposal garbage to receiption shore facility.
