Abstract

The growth and yield of tomatoes in peat soil with limited nutrient availability are expected to increase with the application of mycorrhizae, where mycorrhizae plays a role in the efficiency of fertilization in plants. The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of arbuscular mycorrhizae fungi (AMF) from peat ecosystems and alluvial soil ecosystems on the growth and yield of tomatoes at different levels of nutrient stress in peat soil. The study was conducted using a completely randomized factorial design. The first factor was the type of soil source of AMF propagules (without AMF, AMF from peat ecosystems, and AMF from alluvial soil ecosystems). The second factor was the dose of NPK fertilizer (100%, 75%, 50%, and 25% of recommended). The results showed that arbuscular mycorrhizae fungi propagules originating from peat ecosystems and alluvial soil ecosystems increased the growth and yield of tomatoes on peat soil. The AMF propagules from peat vegetation with 50% NPK fertilization of the recommended dose effectively increased the production of tomato plants based on the variables of single-fruit weight and total fruit weight per plant. Abstract

Growth and Yield Response of White Radish (Raphanus sativus L.) to the Application of Rabbit Urine and KCl Fertilizer in PMK Soil. Radish (Raphanus sativus L.) is a root vegetable of the Brassicaceae family, closely related to cabbage. Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency of West Kalimantan (2021), the productivity of radish in West Kalimantan in 2020 decreased compared to the previous year. Increasing radish production can be achieved through agricultural intensification using Podsolik Merah Kuning (PMK) soil (Ultisol). The main problem of PMK soil is its low fertility. One way to improve the chemical properties of PMK soil is to apply organic fertilizer, namely rabbit urine liquid fertilizer, and inorganic fertilizer, namely KCl. This study aimed to determine the best concentration of rabbit urine and the most effective dose of KCl fertilizer for the growth and yield of white radish in PMK soil. The research was conducted in the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, Tanjungpura University, Pontianak City, from September 15 to October 30, 2024. The experiment used a factorial completely randomized design with two factors. The first factor was rabbit urine concentration (U) at three levels: u1 = 20 ml/L, u2 = 40 ml/L, and u3 = 60 ml/L. The second factor was the KCl fertilizer dose (K) at three levels: k1 = 0.8 g/plant, k2 = 1.2 g/plant, and k3 = 1.6 g/plant. The results showed no interaction between rabbit urine concentration and KCl fertilizer on the growth and yield of white radish in PMK soil. Individually, rabbit urine at 20 ml/L and KCl fertilizer at 0.8 g/plant gave the best results on radish tuber length. However, no optimal and effective dose was found to significantly improve the growth and yield of white radish in PMK soil.

Abstract

Budidaya pakcoy hidroponik membutuhkan pupuk lain sebagai alternatif untuk mengurangi biaya nutrisi AB Mix yang mahal. Ekstraksi cairan dari campuran kotoran sapi dan daun gamal ( Pupuk Organik Cair = POC) dapat menjadi solusi, karena keduanya mudah diperoleh dan dibudidayakan di Kalimantan Barat. Pengkombinasian nutrisi AB Mix dengan POC ini diharapkan dapat menjadi alternatif sumber hara dari budidaya pakcoy hidroponik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui berapa persen pupuk organik cair kotoran sapi dan daun gamal dapat mensubtitusi konsentrasi pupuk AB mix terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil sawi pakcoy secara hidroponik. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni – Juli 2025 di Lahan Golden River Camp, Desa Kalimas, Kecamatan Sungai Kakap, Kabupaten Kubu Raya, Kalimantan Barat. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 4 taraf perlakukan tanpa ulangan, setiap perlakuan terdapat 20 sampel tanaman sehingga total terdapat 80 tanaman yang diamati. Perlakuan dalam penelitian yang dimaksud adalah kombinasi antara AB Mix dan POC campuran kotoran sapi dan daun gamal dengan taraf perlakuan P1= 100 % AB Mix; P2= 75 % AB Mix + 25 % POC; P3= 50 % AB Mix + 50 % POC; P4= 25 % AB Mix + 75 % POC. Setiap perakuan diterapkan dengan sistem hidroponik DFT, dengan konsentrasi tiap perlakuan yaitu 1200 ppm. Variabel pengamatan meliputi: luas daun, jumlah daun, berat segar bagian atas tanaman, volume akar dan berat kering bagian atas tanaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlakuan kombinasi AB Mix dan POC campuran kotoran sapi dan daun gamal berbeda nyata dengan perlakuan AB Mix tanpa POC, dapat disimpulkan bahwa POC tidak dapat mensubtitusi nutrisi AB Mix terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman sawi pakcoy secara hidroponik.

Abstract

Sawi pakcoy (Brasiscca rapa L.) adalah salah satu sayuran yang banyak diminati karena kandungan gizinya yang tinggi, seperti vitamin A, vitamin C, kalsium, dan serat. Salah satu solusi untuk meningkatkan produksi tanaman sawi pakcoy adalah melalui budidaya sistem hidroponik. Pengaturan lebar flanel dan konsentrasi AB Mix yang tepat diharapkan mampu memberikan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan yang baik bagi tanaman sawi pakcoy. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh lebar flanel dan konsentrasi AB Mix terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil sawi pakcoy pada hidroponik sistem wick. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di lahan Golden River Camp, Desa Kalimas, Kecamatan Sungai Kakap, Kabupaten Kubu Raya, Kalimantan Barat. Penelitian ini berlangsung dari tanggal 15 juni "“ 15 Juli 2025. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial yang terdiri dari dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah lebar flanel (f) yang terdiri dari 3 taraf f1 = 3 cm, f2 = 4 cm, f3 = 5 cm, dan faktor kedua adalah konsentrasi AB Mix (k) yang terdiri dari 3 taraf k1 = 600 ppm, k2 = 1000 ppm, k3 = 1.400 ppm. Variabel pengamatan meliputi: jumlah daun, berat segar bagian atas tanaman, volume akar , luas daun, dan berat kering bagian atas tanaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lebar flanel dan konsentrasi AB Mix tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil sawi pakcoy pada hidroponik sistem wick.

Abstract

Liberica coffee has great potential in West Kalimantan, but its productivity is low due to old plants that have not been rejuvenated. To improve yields, good planting media is needed, such as the use of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and the addition of cocopeat. Proper NPK fertilization is also important soil. This study aims to observe the response of coffee seedlings to the application of mycorrhiza, cocopeat, and NPK fertilizer. The research was conducted in Limbung Village, Kubu Raya Regency, using a factorial completely randomized design with three factors. The first factor is mycorrhiza with two treatment levels, the second factor is cocopeat with four treatment levels, and the third factor is NPK fertilizer with three treatment levels. The results showed that the interaction treatment between mycorrhiza, cocopeat, and NPK fertilizer provided the best results, specifically the combination of mycorrhiza + 25 g. plant-1 cocopeat + 1 g.plant-1 NPK fertilizer on the growth of coffee seedlings in Ultisol soil, thereby accelerating seedling readiness for transplanting and field planting.

Abstract

Japanese cucumber (Cucumis sativus L. var. Japanese) is a type of vegetable from the Cucurbitaceae family or gourd family. There are several types of cucumbers, one of which is the Japanese cucumber (kyuri), which is longer than regular cucumbers, has a slender fruit shape, soft flesh, smooth skin, and a greener color. The limited agricultural land results in the use of suboptimal land, which poses problems for nutrient availability, such as podsolic reddish-yellow soil (PMK). This study aims to determine the effect of the interaction between humic acid and NPK fertilizer on the growth and yield of Japanese cucumber plants in Reddish-Yellow Podsolic soil (PMK). The research was conducted in Kasromego Village, Beduai sub-district, Sanggau District, from June to September 2024. The design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) split plot with 2 factors. The first factor is humic acid, which consists of 2 levels: H0 = without humic acid and H1 = with the addition of humic acid. The second factor is NPK fertilizer, with 3 levels: P1 = 6 g/plant, P2 = 12 g/plant, P3 = 18 g/plant. Research results show a significant interaction between humic acid and NPK fertilizer on fruit weight per plant and fruit length. The best combination is achieved with the application of humic acid and NPK fertilizer at a dose of 12 g/plant, resulting in the highest fruit weight and length.

Abstract

Bakteri Rhizobium pada bintil akar tanaman leguminosa memiliki peranan yang sangat penting dalam mendukung pertumbuhan dan perkembangan tanaman. Namun demikian, kesesuaian tanaman inang dapat menjadi faktor penting dalam menentukan terbentuknya simbiosis antara tanaman dan mikroorganisme. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji tingkat kompatibilitas bakteri bintil akar asal beberapa tanaman leguminosa terhadap tanaman edamame. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Penyakit Tanaman Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Tanjungpura dan Balai Penyuluhan Pertanian Pontianak Barat Kota Pontianak Provinsi Kalimantan Barat. Penelitian berlangsung dari bulan Februari - April 2024. Metode penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap. Faktor perlakuan jenis isolat bakteri bintil akar (a1: kedelai; a2: edamame; a3: Mimosa pudica Linn., a4: kacang panjang; a5: kacang tanah; a6: Saga). Isolat bakteri bintil akar asal berbagai tanaman leguminosa yang diaplikasikan pada tanaman edamame tidak memberikan dampak terhadap pembentukan bintil akar, berat basah bagian atas tanaman dan berat kering tanaman. Isolat bakteri bintil akar kedelai mempunyai kemampuan menyumbang unsur N pada tanaman edamame sebesar 7,14% dan efektivitas N terhadap tanaman kontrol yang menggunakan urea sebesar 4,17%. Abstract

Pengaplikasian amelioran dan pupuk NPK pada tanah ultisol dapat meningkatkan kualitas tanah secara fisik dan kimia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran amelioran dan pemupukan NPK dalam meningkatkan produktivitas jagung hibrida pada tanah ultisol. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok faktorial. Perlakuan amelioran sebagai faktor pertama dengan 4 taraf yaitu a0, tanpa amelioran; a1, biochar sekam padi 5 ton ha-1; a2, lumpur sawit 5 ton ha-1; a3, gabungan biochar sekam padi dan lumpur sawit 10 ton ha-1. Pemupukan NPK sebagai faktor kedua yang terdiri dari 5 taraf yaitu p0, tanpa pupuk NPK; p1, 150 kg ha-1; p2, 200 kg ha-1; p3, 250 kg ha-1; p4, 300 kg ha-1. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa interaksi perlakuan amelioran dan pemupukan NPK dapat meningkatkan variabel tinggi tanaman, diameter tongkol serta panjang tongkol. Perlakukan pemupukan dapat meningkatkan volume akar, berat pipilan basah, dan berat kering pipil. Perlakuan amelioran dapat meningkatkan variabel volume akar. Perlakuan NPK 150 kg ha-1 serta gabungan biochar sekam padi 5 ton ha-1 dan lumpur sawit 5 ton ha-1 merupakan dosis terbaik yang dapat meningkatkan produktivitas tanaman jagung pada tanah ultisol. Abstract

Edamame soybean cultivation in Indonesia has great potential due to its high nutritional value and increasing market demand. However, the current productivity remains low, thereby hindering commercial development. This study aimed to enhance the growth and yield of edamame soybean plants through the application of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) and bioactive compost charcoal on tidal swamp lands. The research was conducted using a split-plot design consisting of two AMF treatments and four levels of bioactive compost charcoal. The results indicated that the combination of AMF and bioactive compost charcoal significantly increased various growth parameters and yield. Although a dose of 10 ton/ha produced vegetative growth equivalent to that achieved by applying 15 ton/ha corn stalk compost, a dose of 15 ton/ha resulted in more optimal harvest outcomes, with pod numbers reaching 43.22 units per plant, pod weight of 91.67 g per plant, and pod weight of 1.545 kg per plot. Furthermore, the treatment also increased the percentage of AMF colonization in roots as well as phosphorus uptake, which contributed to the enhancement of plant productivity.

Abstract

The utilization of alluvial soils for expanding agricultural land to increase maize production is constrained by low soil pH and limited availability of macronutrients. The application of oil palm shell charcoal as a soil ameliorant has the potential to improve soil properties and enhance the effectiveness of MKP fertilizer as a source of phosphorus and potassium. This study aimed to evaluate the interactive effects of oil palm shell charcoal and MKP fertilizer on the growth and yield of maize grown on alluvial soil. The experiment was conducted in Limbung Village, Kubu Raya Regency, from September 2025 to January 2026 using a split-plot design arranged in a randomized complete block design with three replications. Oil palm shell charcoal (without and with charcoal) was assigned as the main plot, while MKP fertilizer rates (0, 50, 100, 150, and 200 kg ha⁻¹) were applied as subplots. Observed variables included vegetative growth, physiological characteristics, and yield components. The results showed that the combination of oil palm shell charcoal and MKP fertilizer significantly improved maize growth and yield. The application of oil palm shell charcoal combined with MKP fertilizer at a rate of 150 kg ha⁻¹ produced the highest and most efficient yield, with a dry shelled grain weight of 216.28 g plant⁻¹.
