Abstract

This study aims to develop a Canva-based e-module using the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model to improve students' speaking skills in English lessons at SMA Negeri 1 Bintan Timur. This study was motivated by students' low english speaking skills and the limited availability of interesting and interactive teaching materials. The research method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Based on the needs analysis, it was found that students and teachers needed digital teaching materials that were interesting, easily accessible, and interactive to improve students' speaking skills. The Canva-based e-module product was designed in accordance with the PjBL stages, which encourage students to actively engage in real projects and communicate using English. Initial test results show that the Canva-based e-module has an attractive appearance, is easy to use, and can motivate students to learn to speak more actively. Thus, the development of this e-module is expected to be an effective alternative teaching material in improving students' speaking skills in secondary schools.

Abstract

The use of interactive digital media in physics learning remains limited, and the integration of local wisdom into science education is often overlooked, resulting in less contextual and engaging learning experiences for students. This study aims to develop and determine the validity of an Augmented Reality (AR)-based electronic student worksheet (E-LKPD) integrated with local wisdom on thermodynamics, specifically the evaporation topic for grade XI high school students. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, focusing on the development and evaluation stages. Product validation involved four validators consisting of two physics education lecturers and two experienced high school physics teachers. The validation instrument assessed interface design, interactivity, visual presentation, AR technology stability, media integration, and digital format consistency. Data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques through percentage calculations to determine the validity level. The results indicate that the developed AR-based E-LKPD achieved a highly valid category, exceeding the established feasibility criteria. The integration of AR technology enables interactive visualization of thermodynamics concepts, while the incorporation of local wisdom provides contextual learning experiences for students. Therefore, the developed E-LKPD is feasible as an innovative digital learning medium to support more engaging and meaningful physics learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of transformational leadership and the Asah Asih Asuh pattern of the school principal on teachers’ professional competence at SMA Negeri 1 Singkep. The Asah Asih Asuh pattern emphasizes intellectual stimulation (asah), affective care (asih), and nurturing guidance (asuh) as the pillars of transformational leadership practiced by the school principal in fostering teacher professionalism. This research employs a quantitative approach with a descriptive-verificative design. The population consists of all teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Singkep, totaling 32 individuals, who were all selected as the research sample (total sampling). Data were collected through questionnaires developed based on indicators of transformational leadership, Asah Asih Asuh values, and teacher professional competence. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis to determine the extent of influence between variables. The results indicate a significant and positive influence of the principal’s transformational leadership and Asah Asih Asuh pattern on teachers’ professional competence. This finding suggests that principals who demonstrate visionary leadership, emotional intelligence, and a nurturing approach effectively enhance teachers’ ability to plan, implement, and evaluate learning professionally. The study concludes that the Asah Asih Asuh leadership model serves as a strategic framework for improving teacher professional competence in coastal educational contexts. It is recommended that principals continue to develop this model to foster a more collaborative, innovative, and humanistic school culture.
