Abstract

This study analyzes the effectiveness of gamification implemented on the Google TV platform to enhance user engagement and satisfaction. The research employs a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative data from user interactions and qualitative feedback from surveys. Results indicate a significant improvement in user retention and interaction rates when gamification elements such as badges, leaderboards, and challenges are integrated. The rapid growth of smart TV adoption in Indonesia (reaching 35% household penetration in 2023) has intensified competition among streaming platforms, creating a need for innovative engagement strategies. This study examines the effectiveness of gamification implementation on Google TV in increasing user retention and satisfaction. The research was motivated by the lack of localized studies on gamification in Indonesia's unique digital ecosystem, where cultural factors significantly influence user behavior. Using a sequential mixed-method approach, we first conducted quantitative analysis of 400 users' interaction data over three months, followed by in-depth interviews with 30 selected participants. The results demonstrate a 27% increase in average viewing duration (p=0.008) and 22% improvement in NPS scores after gamification implementation. However, qualitative findings reveal technical barriers including interface complexity for elderly users and latency issues during peak hours.

Abstract

Inclusive education in Indonesia represents a strategic policy aimed at ensuring the rights of all children, including students with special needs, to receive equitable and dignified educational services. However, its implementation continues to face various challenges in terms of management at the institutional level. This study seeks to examine in depth the policies and practical implementation of inclusive education management in Indonesia through a literature analysis approach. The subjects of this study include more than ten scholarly articles, policy reports, and relevant academic publications published between 2015 and 2025, selected through purposive sampling to ensure empirical data and high contextual relevance. Data were collected through a systematic review of these publications, using a descriptive qualitative approach. The data collection instruments included document review sheets and a literature synthesis template, while content analysis methods were employed to identify key themes and to analyse theoretical correlations among factors influencing the effectiveness of inclusive education implementation. The findings reveal that, despite the existence of supportive regulations, the implementation of inclusive education remains hindered by managerial factors such as limited teacher training, budgetary support, and school leadership. A positive correlation was found between participatory managerial planning and the successful integration of students with special needs into regular classrooms. In conclusion, inclusive education in Indonesia requires the strengthening of data-driven management and policies that are responsive to local contexts. These findings have significant implications for policymakers and education practitioners in building a more equitable, adaptive, and sustainable education system.

Abstract

Several islands in East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT) are underdeveloped areas with insufficient electrification. Therefore, renewable energy power plants are needed, namely Oscillating Water Column Technology Ocean Wave Power Plants (PLTGL-OWC). The objective of this study is to determine the performance of the bidirectional long short-term memory (Bi-LSTM) method in predicting the potential power generated from the height, length, and period of the Sawu Sea waves in NTT using PLTGL-OWC. This study utilises Sawu Sea wave data collected every 12 hours over 9 months. Bi-LSTM is used in this study because it can overcome the vanishing Gradient problem by utilising both the forward layer and the backward layer, making it more effective in solving complex issues, such as time series prediction. This study conducted tests on hyperparameter batch size and hidden layer node configurations. The smallest mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) prediction values obtained were 9.1943% for the wave height parameter, 11.3585% for the wave length parameter, and 7.1485% for the wave period parameter. It means that the Bi-LSTM method is suitable for predicting the electrical power generated by the PLTGL-OWC in the Sawu Sea, as the height and period parameters fall within the MAPE < 10% category, and the length parameter falls within the MAPE 10-20% category. The average electrical power generated is 2,639,865.948 watts per day over a 31-day period. The Sawu Sea has the potential to serve as a renewable energy source in the NTT region.

Abstract

The demand for electricity in Indonesia continues to increase in line with population growth and the expansion of economic development. This increase is not matched by the diminishing electricity resources, as fossil fuels, which are non-renewable, are being used. Therefore, there is a need for renewable energy sources that can be utilized as long-term electricity resources. The abundant marine areas in Indonesia make it a potential source of alternative energy, one form of its utilization is the Ocean Wave Power Plant using the Oscillating Water Column (OWC) method. Bawean Island in Gresik is one of the regions that has this potential, while also facing long-standing electricity supply limitations that have resulted in uneven electricity distribution among the community. The problem does not stop at power generation but also extends to the transmission system between supply and demand. This research is conducted to predict the electricity generated by the ocean wave power plant to help avoid mismatches when supplying electricity. This study uses time series data from January 1st, 2021, to May 5th, 2024, which includes wave height, length, period, and amplitude. Electricity prediction based on these parameters can be performed using deep learning-based methods that can effectively process sequential time series data, such as the Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) method, by experimenting with the number of neurons, epochs, and batch sizes. The best prediction results for the variables of height, length, period, and amplitude of the waves obtained MAPE values of 0.3657%, 0.1637%, 0.0888%, and 0.3480%, respectively. The electricity prediction results from the best parameters obtained a MAPE of 0.3549%.
