Abstract

Background Problems: The level of skills at this time is optimally needed, especially for students because it can be a selling point for them, but the skills of these students are still very underestimated because there has been no innovation to find out the skill level of current students. Research Objectives: The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of direct and indirect assistance and learning motivation on handstand skills. Methods: This research model is a quasi-experiment with a factorial design with 2 x 2 levels. The population of this study was 106 people, and the sample size was 40 people using the ordinally mathematical pairing technique. Collecting data on learning motivation using a questionnaire and handstand skills using a handstand skills test. Data were analysed using a two-way ANOVA at a significance level of α = 0.05 and the Shapiro-Wilk Sig normality test > 0.05. Furthermore, because no interaction was found between assistance with motivation and handstand skills, the Tukey test was not carried out. Findings and Results: The results of the data analysis show: (i) Overall, there is no difference in the influence of assisted handstand skills; (ii) There is no interaction between assistance and learning motivation on handstand skills; and (iii) Directly assisted handstand skills are no better than indirect assistance in learning. high learning motivation group, (iv) Indirect assistance handstand skills were better compared to direct assistance in the low learning motivation group. Conclusion: These findings are important because they provide information about handstand skills in the form of assistance that may be useful for teachers and students in improving handstand skills. This research shows that there is no significant difference between direct and indirect assistance in improving handstand skills. The recommendation for future research is to expand the sample and consider individual factors among students.

Abstract

Technology development in the 5.0 era has been rapid, including in education and sports. One example of technology in sports education is a sports skills test kit. This study aims to develop and test the cricket batting test robotic-based equipment using sensor cameras with the grid system. The experiment was carried out by measuring student responses regarding using a robotic-based batting test tool using a camera sensor with a grid system. This student response is useful for knowing the extent of student responses and reactions to the products used so that they can be used as reflection material and references in designing products. The research method used in this study is Research and Development. The instrument used in this study is a test instrument in the form of an observation sheet. Product validation is divided into two, media validation and learning evaluation. The final assessment results are 160 and 162, indicating that the product is very suitable for use. They are synchronized by looking for whether there is an effect of student responses on student abilities. The results show 53,4% of the effect of students' positive responses on the object's ability. Based on the study's results, it was stated that the development of the tool was feasible to use and validated by media transfer and evaluation experts. In addition, this research is also developing research inspired by previous research. Further research is needed on implementing modified tools to see the effectiveness of training using an Android-based cricket batting test tool using a sensor camera with a grid system.

Abstract

Background and Aim. The increasing number of karate athletes pursuing higher education outside their home region has introduced new dynamics in both education and athlete development. Educational mobility offers opportunities for academic growth, independence, and broader life experience, yet it also raises challenges related to training continuity, coach athlete communication, and performance development. In this context, coaches’ perceptions play a crucial role in understanding how athlete development is shaped. This study aims to explore coaches’ perceptions of karate athletes studying outside their home region and to examine the dynamics between education and athlete development.Methods. This study employed a qualitative research approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving nine participants, consisting of karate coaches, karate athletes, and sport administrators affiliated with FORKI in Sungai Penuh City. The data were analyzed thematically to identify patterns of perception and coaching experiences related to out-of-region education.Results. The findings indicate that coaches generally perceive studying outside the home region as beneficial for athletes’ academic development, independence, and expanded perspectives. However, coaches also reported challenges in athlete development, particularly limited training supervision, conflicts between academic schedules and training programs, and reduced communication intensity. These conditions were perceived to potentially affect training consistency as well as athletes’ physical and technical development.Conclusion. The study concludes that the relationship between education and athlete development among karate athletes studying outside their home region is dynamic and complex. Adaptive coaching strategies, sustained communication, and flexible training management are essential to support sustainable athlete development amid increasing educational mobility.
