Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to describe the difficulties faced by Geography teachers at SMAN 1 Sunggal in identifying students' learning potential and interests during the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with primary data consisting of in-depth interviews and non-participant observation of two experienced Geography teachers. The research findings indicate that teachers face major constraints, including limited time for formal diagnostic assessments, a lack of practical training on diagnostic assessments, a large number of students making individual observation difficult, and the absence of adequate assessment instruments. The teacher's efforts to overcome these difficulties include a personal approach to students, behavioral observation, and varied teaching methods, although these are not yet optimal in supporting differentiated learning. This research provides important recommendations for the development of teacher training and school policies to more effectively support the assessment of student potential and interests within the context of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

The method used is descriptive quantitative, with primary data collected through field observations and interviews, and secondary data obtained from drone imagery and spatial planning documents. The analysis involved land classification, thematic mapping, and Nearest Neighbor Analysis (NNA). The results show that land use is dominated by sapodilla plantations (48.89%) and rice fields (33.86%), reflecting the village’s agrarian character. Regional facilities are evenly distributed, supporting educational, health, and cultural functions. The NNA indicates a clustered settlement pattern, with a Nearest Neighbor Ratio of 0.329755 and a z-score of -28.470036, signifying concentrated residential areas due to geographical factors and accessibility. These findings emphasize the importance of spatial planning in sustainable tourism village development.

Abstract

One of the most attractive ecosystems to be used as tourist destinations is coral reefs. The coral reef ecosystem on Weh Island, Aceh, Indonesia is one of the coastal ecosystems that have a strategic role in ecological and economic development. One of the ecological and economic development efforts can be done through marine tourism. This study aims to analyze the distribution of coral reefs to develop marine tourism in Weh Island. This study uses Landsat 8 OLI image data and field observations. The technique used in this research is the image data analysis technique using multispectral classification. The results showed that the coral reefs on Weh Island in 2020 amounted to 13,136,000 Ha. Therefore, the development of marine tourism must create tourism zones to maintain the sustainability of coral reef ecosystems.

Abstract

The series of eruptions from Mount Sinabung in recent years caused significant damage to the surrounding villages. This led to the implementation of a relocation policy. Three villages were relocated to the Siosar Relocation Area in the first stage, while four other villages were given the freedom to choose their new homes in the second relocation stage. The villagers moved from their hometowns to new places to start fresh lives. This raised questions about the relationships and social status of the relocated communities. The villagers lost their agricultural land. The government provided 0.5 hectares of land for farming for those who were moved to the Siosar Relocation Area and cash amounting to Rp. 20,000,000 for the second stage. However, the new land had different edaphic conditions, steeper topography, cooler temperatures, and new marketing arrangements. This raised questions about how these new conditions affected the economy of the relocated communities in both the first and second stages. Using a qualitative approach, this study applied in-depth interviews and direct observations. The findings showed differences in the social and economic conditions of the relocated communities between the two stages. Overall, the economic and social conditions of the people moved to the siosar relocation area were better compared to those who received cash in the relocation stage.
