Abstract

The research deals with predicates and arguments in the theoretical framework of Transformational Generative Grammar in terms of Thematic Roles or Theta Roles proposed by Chomsky (1981), Haegeman (1994) and his followers Radford (1981) and Ouhalla (1999). Thematic Roles may be defined as the participants of the arguments of a clause. It means that Thematic roles refer to the relationship between verbs and their arguments. Thematic Roles is focused to eight types of theta role. They are agent, patient, theme, experiencer, beneficiary/ benefactive, goal, Source and location. The analysis of Thematic Roles is taken form tne tale of “Macbeth” by E.F, Dodd in six tales of Shakespear. The result shows that agent is the biggest thematic roles found in the tale of Macbeth and source is the lowest one. Keywords: Thematic Roles, Verbs, Arguments

Abstract

Abstract

Optimalisasi penggunaan lahan dibahas dalam penelitian ini Pertanian terpadu di pondok pesantren Darussalam Guntur Batubara. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis kualitatif deskriptif dan teknik pengumpulan datanya adalah dengan wawancara dan observasi. Hasil pengolahan data menarik kesimpulan tentang ketersediaan lahan non produktif di kawasan tersebut Pesantren Darussalam Guntur Batubara memiliki potensi untuk menjadi kenyataan Optimal. Area yang tidak tumbuh dioptimalkan untuk produksi agro-sayuran terpadu. Sistem pengelolaan terpadu yang kami terapkan adalah metode hidro-organik yang menggabungkan budidaya sayuran dan budidaya ikan air tawar. Pengoperasian fasilitas hidroganik akan memungkinkan mitra untuk memproduksi makanan mereka sendiri, menghemat biaya makan siswa dari produksi tanaman cabai, tomat, dan lele. Estimasi produksi cabai mencapai 200 kg per periode produksi dan produksi lele mencapai 208 kg dengan total nilai Rp 10.015.333. dan independen.

Abstract

Akses menuju wisata bukit lawang sangat baik akan tetapi ketika sampai dilokasi wisata, parkir yang dekat dengan kawasan wisata kurang memadai, sehingga wisatawan harus parkir jauh dari lokasi wisata. Hal ini tentunya memberikan pengalaman kurang menyenangkan. Adapun hasil temuan permasalahan yaitu: 1) Akses menuju penginapan, villa ataupun homestay yaitu masih kurang nyaman sebab jauh dari parkir, 2) Area parkir dekat area wisata masih sempit sehingga lebih banyak yang parkir jauh dari area wisata, 3) Sistem kutipan retribusi parkir dan masuk ke kawasan wisata banyak calo, sehingga terkesan tidak nyaman. Tujuan kegiatan ini untuk memberikan masukan kepada pengelola wisata dan masyarakat tentang pentingnya akses dan lokasi parkir bagi kawasan wisata bukit lawang. Hasil kegiatan PKM yaitu bahwa akses atau jalan menuju lokasi wisata bukit lawang sudah baik, hanya diperlukan atribut tambahan untuk memperindah jalan dan memudahkan wisatawan. Akses jalan menuju villa, penginapan dan homestay terlalu jauh sehingga perlu dilakukan perbaikan baik dari pihak pnegelola maupun pemerintah setempat. Saran: Perlu dilakukan edukasi dan dukungan dari pemerintah terkait pengelolaan kawasan wisata, jika perlu untuk parkir dan retribusi ditetapkan dengan harga yg murah dengan tetap memperhatikan cara mensejahterakan masyarakat sekitarnya. Kata Kunci : Sosialisasi; Akses; Jalan; Parkir.

Abstract

This research relates to the application of Google Classroom in learning English in the Accounting Study Program at Pembangunan Panca Budi University. The aim is to find out the effect of using Google Classroom in supporting English learning. Respondents consisted of active students from class 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 who had used Google Classroom in semesters 1 and 2. The data collection method used was a research questionnaire whose data was analyzed using the SPSS program. The results of this study show that there is no significant effect of the convenience of Google Classroom and student expectations on the use of Google Classroom in supporting English learning. Meanwhile, for the performance of Google Classroom and social influence on the use of Google Classroom, there is a significant influence.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the role of accent in Batu Bara Malay communication. Batu Bara Malay is a dialect of Malay spoken in  Batu Bara area of North Sumatra, Indonesia and has unique phonological characteristics. This research is also to identify the characteristics of the accent in Batu Bara Malay, understand its impact in daily communication, and investigate the role of accent in communication. This research uses a combination approach of case study and phonological analysis. The data were collected through interviews with native Batu Bara Malay speakers, observations of daily communication, and analysis of voice recordings. The research results show that Batu Bara Malay has distinctive accent characteristics, including phonological variations in the use of phonemes and intonation that are different from the standard Malay or Indonesian. In the context of daily communication, the use of accents in Batu Bara Malay affects understanding and expression. Differences in accents in informal conversation and formal communication were also identified. Social and cultural factors play a role in accent variation. This research contributes to further understanding of Batu Bara Malay and the importance of maintaining this dialect. The results can be used as a basis for efforts to preserve language and culture in Batu Bara Malay community.
