Abstract

Strengthening the local economy through the active role of the Women Farmers Group (KTW) by improving digital marketing technology skills is an effective strategy for developing rural MSMEs. Sidodadi Village in Malang Regency has several key agricultural commodities such as bananas, cassava, and corn, which are mostly processed and marketed by women’s MSME groups. However, several challenges remain, including limited institutional management capacity, lack of knowledge about digital marketing technology, and restricted market access, making it difficult for MSMEs to compete. This community service aims to assist the Women Farmers Group in improving institutional management capacity and digital marketing skills through training and mentoring activities. The program was conducted in Sidodadi Village using survey, socialization, and training methods, followed by evaluation. The evaluation results show that participants were enthusiastic, actively involved, and demonstrated improved understanding and skills in using digital marketing tools. The activity successfully encouraged the group to optimize digital marketing for the sustainable growth of rural MSMEs. Therefore, this service is expected to increase the efficiency of agricultural product marketing and positively impact community welfare and income.

Abstract

The circular economy seeks to maximize resource utility while enhancing waste materials’ added value. Herbal beverages are derived from biopharmaceutical plants, commonly using ginger, cardamom, turmeric, aromatic ginger or lesser galangal, and curcuma. This study had two primary objectives: (1) to analyze the physicochemical characteristics of instant ginger, instant turmeric, and instant ginger beverages, and (2) to enhance the economic value of production waste by converting it into liquid organic fertilizer (POC). The research was conducted at the small and medium enterprise “AIG Bunda Nisa” in Semarang Regency, Indonesia. Physicochemical characteristics were assessed through proximate analysis, and the quality of the POC was evaluated based on the standards set by the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture (No.216/KPTS/SR.310/M/4/2019). The findings revealed that waste from the production of instant herbal drinks can be effectively repurposed as POC. The analysis showed that instant ginger beverages have higher ash and carbohydrate content than fresh ginger but lower total fat and protein content. Additionally, instant ginger beverages’ caloric value and carbohydrate content are higher than fresh ginger. Conversely, instant ginger’s protein content is lower than fresh ginger’s. In the case of turmeric, the ash, total fat, moisture, and protein content in fresh turmeric were lower than in instant turmeric beverages.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of corruption in moderating the influence of Village Funds, Local Own-Source Revenue (PAD), and technology represented by the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) index on the number of independent villages in Indonesia from 2023 to 2024. The research was conducted in 34 provinces in Indonesia, except for the provinces of DKI Jakarta, Central Papua, South Papua, and Papua Pegunungan. The study used a panel data regression model with a Fixed Effect Model approach. The results of the study show that: First, Village Funds have a positive and significant effect on increasing the number of independent villages; Second, PAD does not have a significant effect on the number of independent villages, indicating that fiscal independence of villages in Indonesia is still relatively low. Most villages still depend on transfers from the central government; Third, technology, represented by the SPBE index, has a positive and significant effect on the number of independent villages; Fourth, the moderating effect of corruption shows diverse dynamics. Corruption negatively moderates the relationship between Village Funds and independent villages, but conversely positively moderates the relationship between PAD and independent villages. Fifth, the interaction between SPBE and corruption is not proven to be significant, suggesting that the success of digitization in promoting village independence is determined more by the readiness of the technological ecosystem than solely by low levels of corruption.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Public Street Lighting (PSL) Quality, Environmental Safety, and Infrastructure Accessibility on MSME Income through Digital Innovation in Balikpapan City. A quantitative approach with an explanatory research method was used on a sample of 100 MSME actors selected using purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results of the study prove that Digital Innovation plays a significant mediating role. The quality of PJU, Environmental Safety, and Infrastructure Accessibility have a positive and significant effect on Digital Innovation, which in turn directly increases MSME Income. These findings underscore that improvements in physical infrastructure and environmental safety create an ecosystem conducive to the adoption of digital technology by MSMEs, which is a major catalyst for improving their economic performance. The implications of this study suggest the need for integrated policies that combine the development of smart public infrastructure (smart street lighting) with digital literacy and access programs for MSMEs in order to promote inclusive and sustainable local economic growth
