Abstract

Most cancer patients receive chemotherapy which contributes to prolong life, with the most common side effects of constipation. Constipation causes general symptoms that are bad and affect the quality of life of patients. The purpose of evidance based nursing (EBN) is to identify the effectiveness of Auricular acupressure in overcoming symptoms of constipation in cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. This EBN uses quasi experiments involving 14 participants in the chemotherapy treatment room with pre and post intervention assessments. The results of the analysis of the independent t-test showed that there was a significant difference in the form of faeces on day 6 with p <0.000 (95% CI). Conclusion: Auricular acupressure can be used as a constipation management nursing intervention in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.

Abstract

Fracture is a disruption of the normal discontinuity of bone and causes the surrounding tissue to be disrupted. Management of fractures is generally divided into recognition, reduction, retention, and rehabilitation. Exercises in the postoperative fracture patient rehabilitation program require patience and take a long time to achieve maximum cure. Nurses' therapeutic action in helping patients do rehabilitation exercises is by increasing the patient's self-efficacy to be independent in carrying out activities. Efforts to increase self-efficacy can be made through nursing interventions. This literature review aimed to explore the appropriate interventions on improving self-efficacy among postoperative fracture patients. Methods: This study was obtained from 4 databases, namely EBSCO, Key clinical, Willey, and Proquest, using inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results obtained. Decreased self-efficacy can occur in cases that require long action both for the healing process and chronic disease and when taking actions to maintain health, including post-surgery fractures. In conclusion, educational media will make it easier to provide interventions in increasing self-efficacy by paying attention to the factors that affect self-efficacy, namely master experience, vicarious experience, verbal persuasion, and emotional Arousal. The recommendation is that patients need support for adjusting the use of tools in providing education, providing logistics from samples in the application of education through technology media and to parents

Abstract

Background: The percutaneous coronary intervention procedure (PCI) is an action to restore reduced coronary artery blood flow due to occlusion or blockage. Complex actions using sophisticated tools with the patient's condition fully aware can cause clients to experience anxiety, both before, during, and after the action. Many patients undergoing PCI experience this symptom of anxiety. These symptoms can lead to activation of the sympathetic nerves, changes in hemodynamic status, to the risk of arrhythmias during or after the procedure. Intervention to reduce anxiety hopefully can stabilize haemodynamic, avoid unwanted effects during and after the procedure, further can also improve the patient's quality of life.Purpose: This integrated literature review aims to find complementary interventions that can be carried out independently to overcome the anxiety experienced among patients undergoing PPCI.Methods: The compiled database was taken from the EBSCO, Scopus, Clinical Key, ProQuest, Science Direct, PubMed, and Cochrane databases, and published in 2015 - 2020 which were then matched with certain specific keywords to get the appropriate articles. A total of 11 selected articles were reviewed and the results were presented in a table. The results of 6 types of intervention were found, almost all of them were significant in reducing anxiety. Next, appraisal of the quality of selected articles is done by using The Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP).Results: There were 11 articles that discussed 6 different forms of intervention in reducing anxiety, including physical therapy (2 articles), relaxation therapy (2 articles), cognitive therapy (2 articles), psychological therapy (1 article), and psychological therapy programs (combined) (1 article) and information / support / counseling (3 articles). Conclusion: This intervention in addition to reducing anxiety can also reduce stress, hemodynamic balance / physiological indicators, reduce pain, improve quality of life and coping mechanisms.

Abstract

Meningioma is the most common type of primary brain tumor, which affect several domains of life, such as physiological, psychological, and social life conditions. Although surgery has been performed on meningioma patients in Indonesia, some patients still experience sequelae such as headache, impaired mobilization, disruption of activity, and visual disturbances. This narrative review aims to describe nursing rehabilitation programs in patients with meningioma in Indonesia. As a result, the nursing rehabilitation program is considered as an integral part of multidisciplinary rehabilitation, which can be applied in the nursing rehabilitation center and in the form of telenursing. The roles of nurses include providing evidence-based direct care, psychosocial support, patient / family education, care coordination, and continuing health promotion starting from the period of patient care in the hospital to discharge. In conclusion, the nursing rehabilitation program has the potential to improve the quality of life in meningioma patients, especially in Indonesia.
