Abstract

Mangrove forests grow on tropical coasts or embouchures with soft soils and are flooded by the tide. The purpose of this study was to investigate composition and destruction level of Mangrove forests vegetation in Sukadana Sub-District of Kayong Utara Regency. The sample was taken on June 2017 by employing single plot method. The findings indicate that at the time of sampling and adult, 7 types of mangrove vegetation are identified, specifically Acanthus ilicifolius, Acrostichum speciosum, Avicennia alba, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Rhizophora apiculata, Ceriops decandra and Xylocarpus granatum are discovered at mangrove forests in Sukadana Sub-District of Kayong Utara Regency. The highest density of 780 trees/ha. Is found at Sutera Village at the stake phase and the lowest density of 128 trees/ha is located in the tree phase in Sejahtera Village. Diversity index (H’) of mangrove forest vegetation in Sukadana Sub-district is categorized as low to average (H’ = 0.57-1.28). Based on the total density of less than 1000 and the relative closure of less than 50% of the trees, therefore the extent of damage to mangrove forest vegetation in Kecamatan Sukadana Kayong Utara District is categorized as initial damage.

Abstract

The technology of compugraphy that can result in and present the accounting information in the graphic form of all kinds is one presentation alternatives from the traditional table form (Ives, 1982). The presentation form change and information quantity is one of the basic options to increase the decision maker's performance (Libby 1981, p. 101). The variable of decision maker's performance is implied by the accurateness of the response and time period. The approach use to find the increase of decision maker's performance is laboratoraty experiment and Manova (multivariance analysis of variance) is used to analyze the discrepancies. There are two independent variables. The variable of presentation form is developed into four kinds adopted by Davis (198) i.e. table form, block diagram, line diagram and pie diagram. Variable of decision maker's task is adopted from the study of Hard and Vanecek (1991): accumulation, treatment, estimation, projection. The subjects of this study are the postgraduate students of Gadjah Mada University, consisting of the department of Management Magister Manajemen (MM) and the department of Science Magister (MSi) students. The subjects analyzed are 204 students (MSi and MM are 128 and 86 students respectively) obtained from the total subjects of 214 students. The result of the study shows that there are differences of decision maker performance in using financial statement affected by interaction among presentation forms and the deccision maker task. The result supports the study by Davis (1989) who found that question answered and the presentation form have interactive influence on the performance, and there is no best presentation form have interactive influence on the performance, and there is no best presentation in all circumtances. In other word, presentation form will result in the decision maker performance in different tasks, and it is also true in the opposite way.

Abstract

Tengkuyung (Cerithidea obtuse) is one of the many snails that live in mangrove areas, being a source of food and the economy, especially for people in coastal areas. Land and sea development and transportation activities have the potential to become a source of Pb contamination in tengkuyung and its environment. This study aims to determine the concentration of lead metal (Pb) in sediments and tengkuyung in the Kuala mangrove area of Singkawang City. Sampling was carried out at two station points. Measurement of heavy metal lead (Pb) in sediments and tengkuyung was carried out using atomic absorption spectrophotometry (SAA) method. The results showed that the content of lead (Pb) in the sediment and tengkuyung at station 1 was 0.0914 µg/g and <0.0070 (µg/g), while at station 2 it was 0.3927 µg/g and <0.0070 (µg/g). The content of Pb metal in tengkuyung meat still meets the eligibility for consumption because it is below the threshold according to SNI no. 7387 in 2009, which is 0.5 mg/kg (0.5 ppm).
