Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh madu trigona pada anjing penderita dermatitis yang diukur berdasarkan atas jumlah total dan diferensial leukosit. Objek yang digunakan adalah 14 ekor anjing penderita dermatitis yang dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok. Dua ekor anjing tanpa perlakuan sebagai kelompok I. Enam ekor anjing diberikan madu trigona segar 5 mL sebagai kelompok II dan enam ekor anjing lainnya diberikan madu kapsul 0,1 mg (1 kali sehari) per oral selama 35 hari sebagai kelompok III. Pemeriksaan total dan diferensial leukosit menggunakan mesin Auto Hematology Analyzer dan metode hapusan darah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa total leukosit pada minggu ke-0, ke-1, ke-2, ke-3, ke-4, ke-5 secara berturut-turut adalah 31,15x103/µL, 11,25 x103/µL, 15,75x103/µL, 12,5x103/µL, 11,85x103/µL, 8,39x103/µL (K.I); 15,76x103/µL, 19,41x103/µL, 16,41x103/µL, 19,58x103/µL, 15,93x103/µL (K.II); 15,68x103/µL, 31,10x103/µL, 19,68x103/µL, 10,31x103/µL, 14,91x103/µL, 15,4x103/µL (K.III). Hasil diferensial leukosit monosit adalah 8%, 9,5%, 11%, 7,5%, 6,5%, 7,01% (K.I); 9,16%, 8,33%, 6%, 6,33%, 6,83%, 8,5% (K.II); 4,5%, 7%, 9,16%, 5,69%, 5,29%, 6,12% (K.III). Nilai eosinofil 3,5%, 8%, 13%, 10,5%, 6,5%, 9,23% (K.I); 5,33%, 11,83%, 11,16%, 12,6%, 9,1%, 11,6% (K.II); 4,5%, 4,5%, 7,83%, 7,7%, 8,8%, 15,94% (K.III). Nilai Limfosit 14%, 15%, 18%, 19%, 29%, 33,4% (K.I); 12,66%, 11,83%, 9,5%, 14,33%, 19,33%, 26,8% (K.II); 11,83%, 7,33%, 12,1%, 13,55%, 12,97%, 32,5% (K.III). Nilai neutrofil 74,6%, 68%, 58%, 60,5%, 58%, 48,1% (K.I); 72,83%, 68%, 72,5%, 65,83%, 64,6%, 53% (K.II); 79,16%, 81,16%, 70,83%, 71,2%, 71,5%, 43,9% (K.III). Hasil sidik ragam madu trigona segar dan kapsul yang diberikan kepada anjing penderita dermatitis tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap total dan diferensial leukosit.

Abstract

Dermatitis merupakan gangguan berupa peradangan pada kulit yang disebabkan oleh sejumlah agen penyebab. Anjing yang mengalami dermatitis kompleks mengalami hipoalbuminemia yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya asupan nutrisi maupun gangguan metabolisme protein pembentukan albumin akibat agen penyakit. Madu trigona diketahui memiliki kandungan protein yang dapat meningkatkan kadar albumin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian madu trigona terhadap kadar albumin anjing yang menderita dermatitis. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan menggunakan 14 ekor anjing yang berusia dibawah enam bulan yang dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok perlakuan, dua ekor anjing sebagai kontrol, enam ekor sebagai kelompok perlakuan madu segar, dan enam ekor sebagai kelompok perlakuan madu kapsul. Sebelum diberikan perlakuan, anjing terlebih dahulu diadaptasi selama tujuh hari, dan pada hari ke-0 dilakukan pengambilan sampel darah. Selanjutnya anjing diberikan perlakuan berupa pemberian madu trigona sebanyak 5 mL sekali sehari selama 35 hari. Madu kapsul diberikan sekali sehari dengan dosis 0,1 mg. Pengambilan darah dilakukan kembali pada hari ke-14 dan 35 setelah pemberian madu trigona. Uji yang digunakan untuk mengukur kadar albumin adalah uji Spektrofotometri dengan menggunakan alat Automated Clinical Chemistry Analyzer Response dan dianalisis dengan Sidik Ragam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian madu trigona segar dan kapsul pada anjing penderita dermatitis tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kadar albumin.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas Aspartat Transaminase (AST) dan Alanine Amino Transaminase (ALT) anjing penderita dermatitis yang diberikan madu trigona. Penelitian ini menggunakan 14 ekor anjing lokal jantan dan betina berumur 2-6 bulan. Hewan coba berupa anjing gudig dicari secara acak di jalanan Kota Denpasar. Variabel yang diamati adalah AST dan ALT pada minggu ke-0, minggu ke-2, dan minggu ke-5. Hasil data penelitian AST kelompok kontrol pada minggu ke-0 menunjukan nilai rerata 55,0±1,41 µ/L, 53,5±7,7 µ/L pada minggu ke-2, dan 44,20±10,18 µ/L pada minggu ke-5. Hasil penelitian kelompok madu segar pada minggu ke-0 menunjukan nilai rerata 63,3±23,61 µ/L, 51,83±8,54 µ/L pada minggu ke-2, dan 51,66±13,86 µ/L pada minggu ke-5. Hasil penelitian kelompok madu kapsul pada minggu ke-0 menunjukan nilai rerata 72,5±34,41 µ/L, 53,16±8,54 µ/L pada minggu ke-2, dan 58,00±30,74 µ/L pada minggu ke-5. Hasil data penelitian ALT kelompok kontrol pada minggu ke-0 menunjukan nilai rerata 33,5±3,53 µ/L, 31±4,24 µ/L pada minggu ke-2, dan 30,25±8,84 µ/L pada minggu ke-5. Hasil penelitian kelompok madu segar pada minggu ke-0 menunjukan nilai rerata 35±0,10,05 µ/L, 26,83±7,19 µ/L pada minggu ke-2, dan 30,16±5,56 µ/L pada minggu ke-5. Hasil penelitian kelompok madu kapsul pada minggu ke-0 menunjukan nilai rerata 28,16±12,05 µ/L, 24,16±7,44 µ/L pada minggu ke-2, dan 52,32±48,40 µ/L pada minggu ke-5. Dari data yang didapatkan tidak ada perbedaan yang nyata antara AST dan ALT pada minggu ke-0, minggu ke-2, minggu ke-5 dari kelompok kontrol, kelompok yang diberi madu cair, dan kelompok yang diberi madu trigona dalam bentuk kapsul. Simpulannya, madu trigona aman untuk anjing-anjing dermatitis.

Abstract

Fracture is one of the cases that may occur in pets, especially dogs and cats. The principle to treatment cases of fracture is repositioned and immobilized in the area of ??the fracture. Large bone damage due to trauma can inhibit healing process and cause bone defects, so that graft material is needed to stimulate the healing process and to fill in the missing bone. This research was aimed to study radiographic imaging in the use of pig’s bone as graft material for the treatment of fractures in dogs. Eight male dogs aged 3-4 months were used in this study and were divided into 2 groups randomly. Group I (control) was 2 dogs who their bone diaphysis femur was drilled with a diameter of 1 cm without giving graft material. Group II was 6 dogs who were drilled as Group I and were given a graft material. Monitoring the progress of healing process by rontgent, was conducted at 24 hours, 2nd week, 4th week and 8th week post-surgery. Radiographic analysis showed that there has been a unification and mineralization of bone fragments in the 8th week post-surgery in the group II with bone density already seemed normal.

Abstract

Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid drug from the class of glucocorticosteroids that has anti-inflammation and immunosuppressant effect. This drug has therapeutic effect such as immunosuppressive and reducing the inflammatory response. Spleen is an organ of the immune system, so that when used dexamethasone in the long term and large doses can affect the spleen. To prevent dexamethason effect on spleen, provision of antioxidants is required. Vitamin E is a fat soluble vitamin that acted as antioxidant. This study used complete randomized design. Sample of this experiment were 25 male rats divided randomly into 5 groups. Negative control were given standards food and drink. Dexamethasone administrated by subcutaneous injection 0,13 mg/kg BW in positive control group, P1, P2 and P3. Vitamin E administrated orally with following P1 (100 mg/kg BW), P2 (150 mg/kg BW) and P3 (200 mg/kg BW). After 2 weeks intervention, all samples were terminated, then took the spleen to make histopatology preparation. The variables examined include hemorrhage and necrosis. From the results showed a positive control necrosis, whereas P1, P2, P3 improvements in spleen damage, but was not significant. P2 treatment showed the best results in reducing the effects of dexamethasone. From this study it can be concluded that the dexamethasone dose 0,13 mg/kg BW has histopatology of spleen changes and vitamin E dose 150 mg/kg BW can repair spleen tissue damage is better than vitamin E dose 100 mg/kg BW and 200 mg/kg BW.

Abstract

The purpose of this study to determine the microscopic changes in rabbit femur fracture healing post-implantation of the graft material demineralized powder bone of bali cattle. Twelve local male rabbits were divided into two groups randomly. Group A consisted of three rabbits used as a control, in which the diaphysis rabbit femur bones were drilled with a diameter of 5mm and depth of drill to reach the medulla, without giving graft material. Group B nine rabbits that were drilled the same as group A and given a powder bone graft. Monitoring progress of bone healing was done in a row against one rabbits in group A and group B three rabbits at week 2nd, 4th, and 6th post-surgery with biopsy for sampling bone subsequently prepared to see microscopic changes the bone with using hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining. The results showed that the group B bone healing observ by reducing inflammation, proliferation of fibrolast, osteoblasts, osteoclasts, osteocytes, woven bone, trabecular bone, and neovascularization. In conclusion, the origin of the bone graft material bali cattle was able to induce the healing process of bone fractures in rabbits.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the recovery time of incised wound healing of white rats (rattus norvegicus) with amoxicillin and mefenamic acid therapy concern in macroscopic and microscopic perspective. The thirty two of male rats in 150-200 gram weight, divided in two random groups with 16 rats contain which are made 2 cm incised wound on linea alba with the depth to penetrate the peritoneum. The first group was given amoxicillin with a dose of 150 mg/kg body weight, whereas the second group was given a combination of amoxicillin with a dose of 150 mg/kg body weight and mefenamic acid with a dose of 45 mg/kg body weight for three days post surgery. The wound healing observed macroscopically every day for 14 days. At day 7th and day 14th, 8 rats from each group was euthanized and than the incised wound collected for histopathology examination. The result showed that the combined of amoxicillin and mefenamic acid had faster wound healing than the group which was only given by amoxicillin, where the redish and swelling mark was disappeared on the day 6th. The result of histopathologic examination has no significant differences of epitel cell, inflammatory cell, and collagen tissue of the incision wound in the white rats.

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to determine the level of nutrient in duck salted eggs made by using mangosteen rind media observed by water content, ash, fat, protein and carbohydrate during salting periods. This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with twofactors. First were media;   mangosteen rind media and brick media. Second were salting periods;7, 14 and 21 days. The level of nutrient contain in duck salted eggs measured according to  Association of Official Analytical Chemist (1984) methods. These data analyzed by T tests tocompare the level of nutrient contain in duck salted eggs produced between medias during saltingperiods. The results show that during the curing process by using the mangosteen rind media wasobserved at days 7, 14 and 21 decreased water and fat content of salted eggs. While the ash, proteinand carbohydrates content increased successively. When compared with the bricks media, all levelof nutritional parameters did not show a significant difference. So it can be concluded that themangosteen rind can be used as a media for making salted eggs.

Abstract

Purpose of this research is to learn the level of effectiveness of ethanol extract from red betel leaf (Piper crocatum) within increase weight of male white mouse in condition for diabetes mellitus. 20 male white mice (Rattus novergicus) in 3 mounth with weight between 190-250 gram which adapted during 2 weeks. It classified to be 5 groups random, each group consisty by 4 mice. The first treatment as a negative control (healty mouse) whitout giving treatment. The second treatment as alloxan positive control, the third treatment alloxan added by 2% suspension of ethaol extract from red betel leaf (dose 100 mg/kg bb) per oral. The fifth treatment is alloxan added by 0.02% suspension glibenclamide (dose 1 ml/kg bb) per oral. Giving extract betel leaf is done by oral with used sonde. Giving treatment at treatment III, IV and V is done everyday start from day 3 until the end of the day (21 day). The weight of mouse is measure at day 7, 14 and day 21 used analytical balanced. The result of this research show up that giving 2% ethanol extract from red betel leaf (Piper crocatum) with dose (50 mg/kg bb), dose (100 mg/kg bb) and glibenclamide 0,02% ( 1 ml/kg bb) with significant can increase weight (P<0,05) of white mice which induce alloxan. Result of this research could be conclude that ethanol extract of red betel leaf (Piper crocatum) can used for increase the weight.

Abstract

Burns wound is a condition where the skin tissue damage due to skin contact by the heat source such as electricity shock, chemicals irritation, fire and radiation. Research on Binahong (Anredera Cordifolia (Tenore) Steenis) has been conducted by applying leaf crush Binahong plant on the rat skin surface (Rattus norvegicus). The result is that Binahong plany can heal burns. It proven that on the examination of macroscopic microscopic of the white rats skin can shorter duration of inflammation by fasten collagen density epithelialization.[11: Research results were statistically analyzed with the help of tools SPSS for windows 17 conducted using The Randomize Posttest Only Control Group Design. Thirty-two (32) female white rats weight 150-200 gram were divided into two treatments in which each treatment consisted of 16 rats. results were statistically analyzed with the help of tools SPSS for windows 17. Results of the study are: 1. Binahong leaves binahong affecting the healing of burns on rats by accelerating the speed of skin epithelialization process. 2. The research result can be used for treatment of skin burn. And suggesting that Binahong can be used particularly in remote area where lack of medicine access.
