Abstract

This study investigates the mediating role of Organizational Commitment in the relationship between Work-Life Balance (WLB) and Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) among employees in Indonesian manufacturing companies. As organizational competitiveness increasingly relies on proactive and voluntary employee behaviors, understanding how work-life balance influences such behaviors is vital. Employing a quantitative method and utilizing SmartPLS for structural equation modeling, data were collected from 68 respondents through a structured questionnaire. The results show that while WLB does not significantly impact OCB directly, it exerts a strong and significant influence on Organizational Commitment, which in turn significantly enhances OCB. Mediation analysis confirms that Organizational Commitment plays a crucial intervening role in translating work-life balance into discretionary behaviors. These findings suggest that creating a supportive work-life environment strengthens employee attachment to the organization, thereby encouraging behavior that goes beyond formal job responsibilities. This research contributes both theoretically and practically by highlighting the importance of integrated HR strategies that foster commitment to enhance citizenship behavior in industrial workplaces.

Abstract

This study analyzes the dynamics of Indonesia’s fisheries trade with Malaysia and Vietnam, two countries that serve as both strategic partners and competitors in the Southeast Asian region. Indonesia holds significant potential in marine resources, yet struggles to compete in the export of high-value processed products. Key challenges include limited cold chain infrastructure, low logistics efficiency, and underdeveloped downstream policies. Malaysia excels in distribution and processing, while Vietnam leads in production efficiency and technological advancement. To strengthen Indonesia's trade position, an integrative policy approach is needed, involving product competitiveness, regional cooperation, and local industry protection. This paper recommends the development of integrated marine industrial zones and incentives for small-scale enterprises to reduce import dependency and expand export markets.

Abstract

As an archipelagic country with abundant marine wealth, Indonesia has great potential in developing the fisheries sector as a leading non-oil and gas export commodity. This research aims to analyze the opportunities and threats of trade in Indonesian fishery products with China within the framework of APEC cooperation. The method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with literature studies, using secondary data obtained from various ministry reports, scientific journal articles, economic news, official government websites, and data from international organizations. The results of the study show that although Indonesia has a large export potential for fishery products to China, such as squid, cuttlefish, seaweed, shrimp, and crabs. The country also faces serious challenges in the form of high volumes of imports of low-cost fishery products from China that suppress local prices and weaken the competitiveness of domestic fishermen. Therefore, a comprehensive strategy is needed in the form of improving product quality, diversification, strengthening the processing industry, protecting the domestic market through strict import regulations, and promoting the export of value-added products so that Indonesia can maintain and improve its position in the international fisheries market, especially China.
