Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of resilient supply chains in improving the competitiveness and performance of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Makassar City. The research method used is a mixed method approach involving 100 respondents from various sectors including food and beverages, handicrafts, and textiles. The results show that 75% of the respondents have implemented elements of resilient supply chains, such as supplier diversification and the use of information technology, which contribute to improved operational efficiency. Regression analysis shows a significant positive relationship between the implementation of resilient supply chains and the competitiveness of MSMEs, with a regression coefficient of 0.65 (p < 0.01). In addition, 70% of the respondents reported an increase in sales and customer satisfaction after adopting resilient supply chain strategies. These findings are consistent with the literature that emphasizes the importance of flexibility and adaptability in supply chains. This study recommends that MSMEs in Makassar City continue to adopt best practices in supply chain management and seek support from the government to create an ecosystem conducive to business growth. The results of this research are expected to contribute significantly to the development of supply chain management theory and practice in the small and medium industrial sector in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract

This research focuses on evaluating and comparing the effectiveness of the Saving Matrix and Nearest Neighbor techniques for optimizing the distribution routes of electronic devices in Batam. Additionally, it assesses these methods against the current approach utilized by the company. A quantitative methodology was adopted, utilizing data that encompasses customer locations, shipment volumes, and vehicle capacities. The findings reveal that the Saving Matrix method yields the highest efficiency, achieving a total travel distance of 54.3 km, a delivery duration of 5.2 hours, and an operational expenditure of Rp785,000. Conversely, the Nearest Neighbor method resulted in a distance of 62.7 km and a cost of Rp905,000, while the company's existing method recorded the longest distance at 68.5 km and the highest cost of Rp970,000. These results indicate that the Saving Matrix method is superior in optimizing both routes and load distribution. This study contributes to logistics planning by highlighting the significance of heuristic approaches in addressing vehicle routing challenges. It is advisable for companies to consider implementing algorithmic methods in their distribution strategies. Future studies should aim to develop models using metaheuristic techniques and take into account dynamic factors such as customer service time frames and real-time traffic conditions for enhanced accuracy.

Abstract

Supply chain efficiency in the agricultural sector is a key factor in enhancing productivity and competitiveness. This study aims to analyze strategies for improving supply chain efficiency through the implementation of the SCOR Racetrack method using a quantitative and descriptive approach. Data were collected through surveys and interviews with 150 respondents, consisting of farmers, distributors, and retailers in several agricultural regions in Indonesia. The analysis was conducted using Quantitative Method with Descriptive and Analytical Design methods and supply chain efficiency. The results indicate that the SCOR Racetrack method can improve operational efficiency by 30%, reduce delivery cycle time by 25%, and increase customer satisfaction by up to 40%. The implementation of digital technology in the supply chain contributes to an efficiency increase of 50.9%, while logistics costs decreased by 28% and product damage rates were reduced by 41.6%. Regional analysis shows that South Sulawesi exhibits the highest efficiency level, while West Sumatra still faces challenges in distribution optimization. Key factors influencing the success of implementation include collaboration among stakeholders, adoption of information technology, and enhancement of human resource capabilities. Thus, this study emphasizes that the SCOR Racetrack method can serve as a strategic solution in building a more efficient, sustainable, and competitive agricultural supply chain. Recommendations for future research include the development of an adaptive model based on artificial intelligence to improve demand forecasting and inventory management in the agricultural sector. Abstract

This study aims to analyze supply chain efficiency in the concrete roster industry in Batam by comparing the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) and Just-In-Time (JIT) methods with the conventional inventory approach. The main issue faced by the industry is the high total inventory cost due to suboptimal ordering frequency and significant storage expenses. The data used are actual production figures and raw material requirements throughout 2024. A quantitative approach was applied using EOQ and JIT calculations. The results show that the EOQ method generates an annual inventory cost of Rp7,595,000, which is significantly lower than that of the JIT method at Rp10,400,000 and the conventional method at Rp145,650,000. EOQ proves to be more efficient by optimizing order quantities and minimizing storage costs. In contrast, the JIT method effectively eliminates storage costs but increases ordering costs due to more frequent orders. This study recommends adopting the EOQ model as an efficient inventory management solution for medium-scale manufacturing industries. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for strategic decision-making in logistics and supply chain management.

Abstract

This study focuses on improving the efficiency of seaweed production at PT. IHFIM through the development of a discrete event simulation model. The production system includes several main stages such as Pre-Treatment, Initial Rinse, Quality Check, Thermal Drying, Disinfection, and Final Blending. Field observation and actual production data were used to build the simulation model using ProModel software. Model verification was done through running simulations, and validation was conducted statistically using a t-test, confirming that the simulation outputs were consistent with actual conditions. The analysis identified two bottlenecks in the system: Pre-Treatment with 12.88% blocked time and Initial Rinse with 11.60% blocked time. To address these issues, two improvement scenarios were tested. Scenario 1 added an extra tank to the Pre-Treatment stage, which successfully reduced the blockage to 0%. Scenario 2 introduced additional buffer capacity at the Initial Rinse and Quality Check stages, resulting in a 4% reduction in blockage. The results show that increasing capacity at key points can improve material flow and reduce delays. This study concludes that discrete simulation is an effective method for identifying bottlenecks and evaluating operational improvements in agro-industrial production systems
