Abstract

Osteoarhtritis genu is a degenerative disease of the knee. The cartilage of the knee joint is damaged, which causes pain and functional limitations.The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of one maximal repetition exercise, US, TENS with hold relax exercise, US, TENS in reducing pain of osteoarthritis genu grade two patients in Sanglah General Hospital Denpasar. This study was an experimental study with Pre and Post Test Control Group Design. Pain intensity was measured using Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Hypothesis I and II were tested using paired sample t-test before and after the intervention in both groups, where the result obtained was p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). Data analysis result showed that interventions in both groups reduce pain significantly. Next, hypothesis III was tested using Independent T-test, where the result obtained was p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). This means that both groups have significant mean differences in the decrease of osteoarthritis genu grade two pain after given the interventions. Based on the mean decrease of pain percentage, the percentage was 38.39% and 19.15% in group 1 and group 2, respectively.In conclusion, the intervention given in group 1 (one maximal repetition exercise, US and TENS) reduces pain of osteoarthritis genu grade two more than the intervention given in group 2 (hold relax exercise, US and TENS).

Abstract

ABSTRACT Using smartphone in different size can give different effectwhilehold and swipe smartphone so, this study was to analyze the relationship between the size of smartphone and paresthesia in palmar caused by constriction at carpal tunnel. Cross sectional analytic study with subjects were 109 students of Medical Faculty Udayana University. The sample of this study is the students who scored SAS (Smartphone Addiction Scale) ? 84, inclusion and exclusion. The participants asked to use a smartphone for 30 minutes, one-handed while maintaining comfortable sitting postures on a chair. The result showed no significant correlation between the size of smartphone and paresthesia in palmar caused by constriction at carpal tunnel and also was found that smartphone large more cause paresthesia in palmar (46,5%) than small category (39,5%) and medium (14,0%). Subjects were more fatigue in thumb and finger after using smartphone than paresthesia. So, the use of smartphones with large category can caused paresthesia and continued with musculoskeletal problem especially in thumb. Abstract

Lingkup gerak sendi adalah luasnya gerakan sendi yang terjadi pada saat sendi bergerak dari satu posisi ke posisi lain. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membuktikan kombinasi intervensi infrared dan contract relax stretching lebih efektif daripada infrared dan slow reversal dalam meningkatkan lingkup gerak sendi leher. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental dengan rancangan pretest-posttest control group design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 22 orang yang dibagi ke dalam dua kelompok. Kelompok 1 diberikan infrared dan contract relax stretching sedangkan Kelompok 2 diberikan infrared dan slow reversal. Uji hipotesis dengan paired sample t-test pada kelompok 1 didapatkan hasil p=0,000 dengan beda rerata 12.9091 ± 3.78, sedangkan pada kelompok 2 didapatkan hasil p=0.000 dengan beda rerata 9.6364 ± 2.50. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan adanya peningkatan lingkup gerak sendi leher yang bermakna pada setiap kelompok. Uji perbandingan dengan independent sample t-test didapatkan beda selisih p = 0,027 (p<0,05). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa intervensi infrared dan contract relax stretching lebih baik daripada infrared dan slow reversal dalam meningkatan lingkup gerak sendi leher.

Abstract

Throw-in is one of the basic techniques in football which aims to start thegame again after the ball out of left field through the side lines. To generate a throw-in that muchneeded donations abdominal and back muscle strength followed by hand muscles strength. Methods:This study uses a true experiment, the design of two group pre-test and post-test design. Samples are32 people were divided into two groups consisting of Group 1 get treatment core exercise and group 2without treatment. Results: Paired Sample T test in Group 1 showed P = 0.000 difference in the meanincrease of 2,79 meters and the percentage is 21,24%, while Group 2 showed P=0,000 difference inmean improvement of 0,70 meters and the percentage is 5,34%. On different with IndependentSample T test, showing the result P=0,000, because of p value <0,05, it means there is a significantdifference between the core exercise’s group (first group) and second group. In increasing the rangeof throw-in. Conclusion: The aplication of core core exercise can give a significant difference forimproving the value range of throw-in rather than without getting a treatment.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Nowadays, decreasing of physical activity of children were increasing the risk of falling and injury. Physical activity will increase the balancing ability and reduced risk of fall. Development of dynamic balance started at age 7 to 8 years. This study was an experimental study with pre test and post test control group design involving 14 children in Group I (brain gym and core stability exercise) and 14 children in Group II (core stability exercise). Results of Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test found a significant difference with p=0.001 (p<0.05) in Group I and Group II. Different test difference with Mann Whitney U-Test showed a significant difference between Group I and Group II where p=0.001 (p<0.05), the conclusion is brain gym in core stability exercise is more effective in increasing the dynamic balance among children 7 to 8 years old in PPA Tunas Kasih Abianbase than core stability exercise only. Abstract

Kekuatan otot adalah kemampuan otot untuk menghasilkan tenaga yang berperan mengatasi sebuah tahanan atau beban dalam menjalankan suatu aktivitas. Kekuatan otot tungkai merupakah salah satu aspek fisik yang harus dimiliki oleh seorang pemain bulutangkis yang berpengaruh terhadap footwork para pemain bulutangkis dan berdampak pada prestasi dan performa permainan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah efek pelatihan leg squat exercise lebih baik dalam meningkatkan kekuatan otot tungkai dibandingkan dengan pelatihan lari 100 meter. Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental dengan menggunakan rancangan Pre and Post Test Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 34 orang yang dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok, yaitu kelompok kontrol yang diberikan pelatihan lari 100-meter dan kelompok perlakuan yang diberikan pelatihan leg squat exercise. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kekuatan otot tungkai pada kelompok kontrol sebesar 3,23 dan pada kelompok perlakuan terjadi peningkatan kekuatan otot tungkai sebesar 5,28. Uji paired sample t-test didapatkan perbedaan yang signifikan dengan nilai p=0,000 (p<0,05) pada kelompok kontrol dan nilai p=0,000 (p<0,05) pada kelompok perlakuan. Uji beda selisih dengan independent t-test menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang bermakna antara kelompok kontrol dan kelompok perlakuan dimana p=0,001 (p<0,05). Pelatihan leg squat exercise lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan kekuatan otot tungkai daripada pelatihan lari 100-meter terhadap pemain bulutangkis. Kata kunci: kekuatan, otot, leg squat exercise, lari 100 meter, bulutangkis.

Abstract

ABSTRACTVO2max is an indicator that can be used to measure the cardiovascular capabilities. Circuit training and jogging training are the forms of aerobic training that can be used to boost the cardiovascular capabilities. The Quasi- Experimental Research with study design Randomized Pre and Post Test Control Group Design and the sampling technique is simple random sampling. Samples are 28 students which were selected based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria that devided into 2 groups. The treatment group was given circuit training and the control group wasgiven jogging training. The average difference between the increase on treatment group is 8.4922 (p<0.05) and the average difference between the increase on control group is 4.2477 (p<0.05). Concluded that circuit training is more effective than jogging training in improving VO2max values on member of paskibra extracurricular program in SMA Negeri 1 Gianyar. Abstract

Penurunan denyut nadi pemulihan 2 menit setelah mengikuti latihan dapat memprediksi adanya coronary artery disease yaitu keadaan di mana terdapat plak pada pembuluh darah arteri yang dapat menghambat aliran darah ke otot jantung yang kemudian menimbulkan penyakit jantung koroner. Dibutuhkan suatu program latihan olahraga yang dapat meningkatkan fungsi jantung agar terhindar dari penyakit kardiovaskular. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah Zumba dapat menurunkan denyut nadi pemulihan 2 menit pada remaja putri usia 16-18 tahun. Penelitian eksperimental ini menggunakan desain one group pre test – post test. Sampel berjumlah 12 orang yang dipilih sesuai kriteria secara acak sederhana. Hasil menunjukkan terdapat penurunan denyut nadi pemulihan 2 menit signifikan (p<0,05) antara sebelum dan sesudah pemberian intervensi. Kesimpulanya Zumba dapat menurunkan denyut nadi pemulihan 2 menit pada remaja putri usia 16-18 tahun. Kata kunci : zumba, denyut nadi, pemulihan, 2 menit

Abstract

Keseimbangan pada anak merupakan salah satu hal yang penting untuk ditinjau pada masa perkembangannya.Peningkatan resiko hilangnya keseimbangan sering dikaitkan dengan waktu reaksi yang lambat. Tujuan dari penelitianini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara waktu reaksi auditori dengan keseimbangan tubuh pada siswa di SekolahDasar di desa Baha. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Maret 2018 dengan desain studi cross sectional analytic.Sampel diambil dengan metode simple random sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 96 orang. Rentang usiasampel yaitu 8 – 10 tahun. Variabel independen yaitu waktu reaksi auditori diukur menggunakan software computerizedreaction time test. Variabel dependen yaitu keseimbangan tubuh diukur menggunakan Pediatric Balance Scale. UjiPearson Correlation digunakan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara kedua variabel diatas. Terdapat hubungan yangsignifikan antara waktu reaksi auditori terhadap keseimbangan tubuh, berdasarkan output data dari analisis dengansignifikansi < ? (p=0,006). Selanjutnya, berdasarkan output data diketahui Correlation Coefficient sebesar -0,281 yangberarti adanya hubungan negatif dan linier. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara waktu reaksi auditori dengankeseimbangan tubuh pada anak sekolah dasar di Desa Baha.Kata Kunci: Waktu Reaksi, Auditori, Keseimbangan, Anak

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine the aim of this research the difference between proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) stretching and ice massage in preventing the occurrence of delayset onset muscle soreness (DOMS). This research is an experimental study with post test two group desaign and using simple random sampling technique. The sample of the study were 20 male students selected based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, which were then divided into two groups. Group 1 was given treatment of pnf stretching and group 2 was given ice massage treatment. DOMS pain was measured using visual analogue scale (VAS) at 48 h after treatment. Hypothesis test of this research using Mann-Whitney U-test, where got result p = 0,027 (p <0,05). These results show that there is a significant difference between pnf stretching and ice massage. Mean of DOMS pain value in group 1 was 2,560 and mean of DOMS pain value in group 2 was 1,200. This shows that ice massage group results in lower DOMS pain value compared to pnf stretching group. Based on the results of this study, it is concluded that ice massage is better than pnf stretching in preventing DOMS.
