Abstract

This study aims to determine the analysis of the location of the establishment of a suitable banana chips industry in Lampung by using an exponential comparison method and the feasibility of financial analysis.. The research method uses observation, survey and interview techniques. To determine the location of the plant using the Exponential Comparison Method. The results showed that the suitable location was Ketapang sub-district in south Lampung regency with a value of 11129 and was declared financially feasible because it had a positive Net Present Value (NPV), the value of the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) was greater than the prevailing interest rate at present, the value of the Benefit/Cost (B/C) ratio is more than 1 and the payback period (payback period 1 year 11 months) is the maximum business feasibility at a 15% increase in raw materials per year.

Abstract

Pengembangan agroindustri mempunyai arti strategis karena diharapkan dapat meningkatkan nilai tambah produk hasil pertanian melalui pemanfaatan dan penerapan teknologi pengolahan. Kabupaten Tulang Bawang merupakan salah satu wilayah yang memiliki potensi pengembangan agroindustri rakyat di Provinsi Lampung. Hal ini didukung dengan hasil tanaman perkebunan diantaranya kelapa sawit, karet, tebu, dan akasia mangium; sedangkan untuk tanaman pangan melalui produksi antara lain tanaman padi, jagung dan ubi kayu. Berkenaan dengan potensi tersebut penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk menentukan komoditas unggulan dalam pengembangan teknologi agroindustri rakyat yang potensial di Tulang Bawang. Penelitian ini menggunakan data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer diperoleh melalui survey dan wawancara yang melibatkan sejumlah responden yang kompeten pada bidangnya yang berasal dari birokrat, akademisi, dan praktisi. Sedangkan data sekunder diperoleh melalui penelusuran pustaka dari berbagai sumber yang relevan. Data kemudian dianalisis menggunakan metode Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam pengembangan teknologi agroindustri rakyat di Kabupaten Tulang Bawang harus memperhatikan kriteria dalam pengembangan agroindustri dengan urutan: (a) sumber daya manusia (0,41172); (b) ketersediaan bahan baku (0,30981); (c) kelayakan teknologi (0,20970); dan (d) potensi daerah (0,06876). Rencana pengembangan teknologi agroindustri rakyat difokuskan dengan urutan prioritas pada produk berbasis: ubi kayu (0,25351), karet (0,18843), perikanan (0,13037), kelapa sawit (0,13024), padi (0,07823), peternakan (0,07185), jagung (0,06135), tebu (0,05622) dan akasia mangium (0,02979).

Abstract

Tetraselmis sp. Adalah salah satu mikroalga potensial sebagai sumber minyak untuk bahan biodiesel karena itu menghasilkan sejumlah besar biomassa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan efektivitas penambahan nitrogen dan pengaturan salinitas terhadap air limbah industri karet yang meningkatkan produksi Tetraselmis sp. biomassa. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menyiapkan empat jenis Tetraselmis sp. media tumbuh yang crumb rubber Media limbah industri outlet kolam fakultatif I, Fakultatif II, Fakultatif II yang diperkaya dengan nitrogenat 1 g NH4HCO3 / 5 L dari volumedose dan Fakultatif II yang salinitas ditingkatkan sampai 30 ppt. Benih Tetraselmis sp. sebanyak 25% v / v dibudidayakan dengan membuka kolam bioreaktor dengan 5 L volume selama 7 hari. Parameter dalam penelitian ini adalah hari densitas sel, biomassa, N-total, P-PO4, Larutkan Oxygen (DO), hasil pH dan salinitas. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa meningkatkan salinitas media air limbah industri karet dari outlet Fakultatif II pondup 30 ppt adalah yang paling efektif untuk meningkatkan produksi Tetraselmissp. biomassa sebanyak 105% dengan 120 x 104 sel / mL kepadatan sel and0.6250 g / L dari hasil kering dan juga itu mampu mengurangi 72,2% dari N-total dan 87,6% dari P-PO4content.

Abstract

Cadangan bahan bakar minyak yang semakin berkurang mengharuskan adanya upaya penemuan bahan bakar yang terbarukan.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi potensi biomassa serta menginventarisasi faktor-faktor pendukung dan penghambat pengembangan biofuel sebagai energi terbarukan di Tulang Bawang, Lampung.Penelitian yang merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan metode survei.Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui Rapid Rural Appraisal dengan Focus Group Discussion.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan potensi pengembangan biofuel di Tulang Bawang adalah hasil samping tanaman jagung dengan estimasi sebanyak 12.830 kiloliter bioetanol, hasil samping tanaman tebu berupa ampas setara potensi bioetanol 5.800 kiloliter bioetanol, hasil samping pengolahan tapioka dari ubikayu dengan potensi gas metana 8 juta m3, limbah peternakanyang dapat dikonversi menjadi biogas sebanyak 14.674 m3/hari dan produksi mikroalga pada limbah perikanan dengan potensi bioetanol sebanyak 20.000 liter/ha.Pengembangan biofuel di Kabupaten Tulang Bawang perlu memperhatikan ketersediaan bahan baku lokal sebagai faktor utama, teknologi pengolahan, sumberdaya manusia, pasar, dan kebijakan pemerintah.

Abstract

Palm oil mill effluent treatment using anaerobic pond system was not effective because it needs large area and causes greenhouse gas emission. Thermophilic anaerobic digestion system can make hydraulic retention time of palm oil mill effluent becomes shorter. The purposes of this research were to determine the optimum temperature, net energy balance of the utilization from palm oil mill effluent at thermophilic temperature, and study the possibility of its application on palm oil mill.  Palm oil mill effluent and sludge characterization were determined by analyzing pH and COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), then 40 L palm oil mill effluent and 10 L sludge were fermented in the bioreactor stirred at temperature 45oC and 55oC.  The data were presented in tables and graphs then analyzed descriptively. The Results showed that for 50 L palm oil mill effluent at 45oC needed 113,906 J/57 days and produced net energy value 22,078 MJ/57 days, while at 55oC needed 113,934 J/43 days and produced net energy value 23,622 MJ/43 days.  Based on the calculation palm oil mill with capacity of 60 tonnes FFB/hour, will produce electrical energy equivalent to 1,654 MW and produce extra energy value 13.699,32 MJ/hour in the processing of FFB into CPO. Abstract

Bintaro fruit is a tropical plant that is widely grown in Indonesia, but it has not been utilized optimally.  Seed of bintaro fruit contains saponin steroids and fatty acids such as palmitat, stearat, oleat, miristat, linolenat, and linoleat fatty acid.  Kernel of bintaro fruit contains saponin and polifenol that are toxic for the pests and insects.  Kernel and seed of bintaro fruit may contain antibacterial activity.  Fatty acid content of bintrao fruit was influenced by level of its maturity, more mature contains more fatty acid.  The purpose of this research is to determine the most suitable solvent to produce the best extract which has activity of anti bacteria and find out the level of anti bacteria activity which is produced from seed and kernel extracts from the bintaro fruit by using difusi agar method.  This research was arranged in a Complete Randomized Block Design, two factorial with four replications.  The first factor was different part of the fruit: seed and kernel.  The second factor was different type of solvent: ethyl acetate, hexane and aquades.  The data were analyzed using Bartlett test for homogeneity and Tuckey test for additivity.  The data then were analyzed using Anova to see the differences between treatments and tested further using LSD of 5% level to determine the best treatment. The result of this research indicated that the kernel of bintaro fruit extracted with ethyl acetate produced the extract which has the highest resistant zone activity of anti bacteria (about 10,95 mm), categorized as an average activity of antibacterial, while bintaro seed extraxted with hexane has less active of antibateria (about 8,43 mm).  The most sensitive bacterium againts seed extracts and kernel of bintaro was Staphylococcus aureus.Keywords : antibacteria, bintaro fruit, extraction, and organic solvents

Abstract

Natural rubber processing demand has increased every year because of the demand from  tire industries and other rubber based industries.  The problem of RSS industries with raw material of field latex was low quality of final products.  The purposes of this study were to identify factors that affected quality of RSS (Ribbed Smoked Sheet) product and to construct  strategies to improve the quality of  RSS (Ribbed smoked sheet) products.  Data were collected in two ways, there were primary data and secondary data.  Data were analyzed using SWOT method and continued using qualitative (descriptive) method.  Weighting results showed for internal factors had strength value  of 2,879, and weaknesses value of 2,705 then the difference value +0.174.  While the weighting for external factors had opportunities value  of 2,410, and threats value  was 1.306. then the difference value was +1,433 .  The conclusion  that could be drawn from this research is that The quality of RSS product can be improved by  strictly implementing the standard operating procedure ,  developing human resource abilities, collaborating research with other institutions , implementing  and  monitoring the use  of SNI 06-2047-2002 for latex raw materials. Abstract

One of the problems in the ribbed smoked sheet (RSS) production  is low quality of field latex, used as a raw material.  The objective of this research was to identify issues that affect the  latex qualities and  to analize optimization strategy for  improving its quality for RSS raw material.  The study was conducted by using survey method to collect primary and secondary data, then the data were  analyzed descriptively.  The results showed that the weighting values for the strength factor was 2,431 and 2,394  for weakness factor, the difference obtained was 0,037.  Meanwhile,  the opportunity factor was 2,794 and the threat factor was2,134,  the difference was obtained by 0,659.  Predominant issues affected field latex quality were rubber tree clones,  plant treatment, the pracoagulation of latex and the latex bubble at the time of testing.  Optimization strategies that can be applied include: planting the recommended and certified rubber clones , which bring  benefit both in terms of wood and rubber qualities, to maintain  the country performance  as the second largest production area by intensifying  the maintenance,  and scheduling the fertilizing time of the plants, encouraging  people to replant with high resistant and recommended clones, and to improve the field latex qualities as determined in  SNI 06-2047-2002 in order to compete along with increasing demand for rubber. Abstract

Waste water of crumb rubber industry is originated from coagulation, milling and leaching stage contains organic material that is derived from serum and rubber particles which haven’t been coagulated yet. The materials are potential to pollute the water therefore the crumb rubber industry must be treated through the wastewater plant. However, the characteristics of waste water are predicted suitable for the cultivation of Nannochloropsis sp. media a biofuel feedstock, especially biodiesel that can be used as an energy source.  The purpose of this study was to determine the kind of the outlet of the crumb rubber waste water suitable for growth microalgae with open ponds system.  This study was conducted in two phases: the first is the characterization of wastewater. Waste water used is waste water crumb rubber derived from Facultative ponds II (F2), an Aerobic I pond (Ae1), and an Aerobic II pond (Ae2) with a working volume of each 5 L as a three-stage treatment of growth Nannochloropsis sp. media. The second phase is the cultivation of Nannochloropsis sp. as much as 25% v / v of work. The observations those have been done are: microalgae density (OD), analysis of N-NH3, N-total, P-PO4, pH, temperature, content of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Dissolved Oxygen (DO) and dried Yield acquisition. The optimum result of Nannochloropsis sp. growth is on waste water Facultative II pond media with density of cell is about 3.3 x 107 cells / mL. Moreover, it can degrade the organic matter content of waste water crumb rubber in the form of N-NH3 reaches 98%, P-PO4 89%, N-total 92%, and the dry yield of micro algae 0.87g /L.Keywords: waste water, Nannochloropsis sp., microalgae cultivation.

Abstract

Abstract— The objective of this research was to examine the feasibility of liquid smoke production from palm ail empty fruit bunch (EFB). This research was a survey with expert respondents to collect primary data while literatures and reports study as secondary data. The result of study showed that the liquid smoke industry from EFB was feasible to be developed with eligibility criteria Rp. 991,486,765 of NPV ; 2.50 of Net B/C; 36.59 % of IRR ; and 2.83 years of PBP.  The result of sensitivity analysis showed that the liquid smoke industry from EFB more sensitive for liquid smoke price decerasing than raw material and other inputs price increasing.Keywords— Financial Feasibility, Liquid Smoke, EFB.
