Abstract

Currently, many modern scholars still quote and quote the history of Isra’iliyyat in their tafsir works, in their tafsir books there is the position of modern interpretive scholars regarding the phenomenon of IIsra’iliyyat in starting from rejection to acceptance of the history of IIsra’iliyyat. This article attempts to conduct a study of the history of Isra’iliyyat contained in Surah al-Baqarah verse 248 and examine the position of modern interpretive scholars regarding the history of Isra’iliyyat. The choice of Surah al-Baqarah verse 248 is because this verse is one of the verses that tells the story of Isra’iliyyat which is popular among the people of Israel, namely about the story of the 'Ark' which is a box-shaped object which is a sacred item for the people of Israel. Israel. This analysis uses several modern era tafsir books that are popular among researchers of Al-Qur'an Tafsir, namely M. Quraish Shihab, Hamka, and Wahbah Az-Zuhayli. The results of the analysis show that several commentators' positions in narrating the story of Isra’iliyyat M. Quraish Shihab and Wahbah Az-Zuhayli tend to regard it as a source and only include the story of Isra’iliyyat. Hamka responded to the history of Isra’iliyyat critically.

Abstract

This study aims to provide a comprehensive perspective on the use of Javanese nagham in reciting the Qur'an. Scholars have debated this issue, and the purpose of this research is to analyze their views, conduct historical exploration, and understand the cultural context to establish a basis for critical thinking about the legal aspects of using Javanese nagham or langgam. Additionally, this research seeks to explore the implications that arise from this issue. The research methodology employed is qualitative, and data were collected through library research using descriptive-analytical methods. The study focuses on the differing perspectives of scholars regarding the use of Javanese nagham in Qur'anic recitation and its implications for the discourse of Nusantara Islam. The study reveals that scholars' opinions on the use of Javanese langgam in Qur'anic recitation are divided into three categories. The first category consists of scholars who support the use of Javanese style on the condition of adhering to the rules of tajwid. The second category comprises scholars who oppose the use of Javanese style, arguing that the Qur'an should be preserved from influences other than the Arabic nagham. The third category comprises moderate scholars who allow the use of any style as long as it adheres to the rules of tajwid. The implications of using Javanese nagham on the discourse of Nusantara Islam create conflicts between preserving cultural identity and religious conservation, differences in recitation patterns of the Qur'an and tajwid rules, and bring forth possible solutions to widely accept Javanese langgam recitation by the community. In conclusion, this study provides a comprehensive perspective on the use of Javanese nagham in reciting the Qur'an and its implications for the discourse of Nusantara Islam. The study highlights the differing perspectives of scholars and offers possible solutions to the conflicts arising from the use of Javanese style.

Abstract

The Qur'an which was revealed in Arabic became a polemic on how the Qur'an could be understood and studied by people who could not speak Arabic. Then there appeared interpreters who aimed to make it easier to study the Qur'an to be practiced in daily activities. One of the most phenomenal and first works of interpretation in Indonesian is the Tafsir al-Karim which is a book written by Mahmud Yunus. This article aims to explore in depth how Mahmud Yunus interpreted in his Tafsir al-Karim, biography, style, method, and analysis of character education in the Tafsir al-Karim. The researcher concluded that there are 15 values ​​of character education in this Tafsir al-Karim, namely: politeness, birul walidain, respecting others, speaking well, being firm in one's stance, being fair, having good thoughts, tolerance, faith (tawhid), being humble, being pious, integrity, being grateful, being honest, and being responsible.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengangkat tema pengembangan diri (self-improvement). Islam sendiri lebih mengenalnya dengan sebutan muḥāsabah 'ala nafs. Penelitian tentang ayat-ayat tidak aman akan dimaknai secara menurut oleh Bisri Mustofa dalam kitab tafsirnya, kemudian dikolaborasikan dengan gagasan Imam al-Ghazali pada bab pengawasan serta introspeksi diri melalui enam langkah yakni musyāraṭah, murāqabah, muḥāsabah, mu'āqabah, mujāhadah, dan mu' āṭabah. Fokus penelitian ini adalah bagaimana konsep perbaikan diri digambarkan dalam kitab Tafsir al-Ibriz dan bagaimana memaksimalkan pengembangan diri pada masa ini. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif-deskriptif di mana pada proses penafsirannya menggunakan metode tematik-konseptual. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya Ayat-ayat yang berisi perintah untuk memperbaiki diri sendiri, manfaatnya, dan bagaimana perilakunya saat ini; dapat menggunakan waktu dengan maksimal, memanusiakan manusia, menghapus rasa rendah diri, tidak mudah berputus asa serta dapat memilih berita yang sesuai kebenarannya.

Abstract

The duality of the role of Tahfiz students in Indonesia is increasingly widespread with the existence of Islamic boarding schools, especially Tahfiz Islamic boarding schools, which are starting to integrate the Tahfiz program with formal schools. One of the interesting boarding schools for research is Pondok Modern Darul Hikmah which integrates the tahfiz program with formal schools while emphasizing the use of Arabic and English as languages ​​of daily communication. In this way, the tahfiz students of Pondok Modern Darul Hikmah have two important roles that must be carried out. From this research, researchers found that the dual role of Islamic boarding school students at Pondok Modern Darul Hikmah (as memorizers of the Qur'an as well as students) is indeed difficult, but they can carry it out with balance and full responsibility. Even though there are several factors that become obstacles, they can still get good academic grades without neglecting their memorization targets

Abstract

This research aims to uncover the meaning of the text and context, as well as the effort to contextualize the meaning of the Hadith concerning the encouragement to have many offspring in order to counter the phenomenon. It poses three research questions: firstly, what is the quality of the Hadith concerning the encouragement to have many offspring. Secondly, we will examine the meaning of the Hadith regarding the encouragement to have many offspring. Thirdly, we will explore the contextualization of the meaning of the Hadith concerning the encouragement to have many offspring within the context of childfree. This study is a literature review with a deductive approach, employing the hermeneutic method of Hadith by Hasan Hanafi through three operational steps, namely historical criticism, eidetic criticism, and practical criticism. As a result of this research, the first finding is that the Hadith about the encouragement to have many offspring is considered to be authentic (sahih lighairihi). Secondly, the textual meaning is the prohibition of celibacy and marrying infertile women, as well as the recommendation to get married, while the contextual meaning is that the Prophet will take pride in having numerous descendants. Thirdly, contextualization of the hadith, which is about having descendants and preserving the lineage.[Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi sejak munculnya fenomena dalam sebuah pernikahan yang mulai marak diperbincangkan. Fenomena tersebut yakni adanya sepasang suami istri yang menolak untuk memiliki anak, karena pada hakikatnya fenomena ini dapat memutuskan mata rantai regenerasi yang mengakibatkan kerusakan dari sisi akidah maupun dari sisi sosial kemasyarakatan. Penelitian ini berusaha untuk mengungkap makna teks dan konteks serta upaya kontekstualisasi makna hadis tentang anjuran memperbanyak keturunan dalam rangka meng-counter fenomena tersebut, dengan mengajukan tiga rumusan masalah yaitu pertama, Bagaimana kualitas hadis tentang anjuran memperbanyak keturunan. Kedua, Bagaimana makna hadis tentang anjuran memperbanyak keturunan. ketiga, Bagaimana kontekstualisasi makna hadis tentang anjuran memperbanyak keturunan dalam konteks childfree. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis studi kepustakaan yang bersifat deduktif dengan menggunakan metode hermeneutika hadis Hasan Hanafi melalui tiga langkah operasional yaitu langkah kritik historis, kritik eidetis, dan kritik praksis. Sebagai hasil temuan dari penelitian ini yaitu pertama, Hadis tentang anjuran memperbanyak keturunan memiliki kualitas shahih lighairihi. Kedua, Makna tekstual yaitu larangan membujang dan menikahi wanita mandul serta anjuran untuk menikah, sedangkan makna kontekstual yakni nabi akan berbangga dengan banyaknya keturunan. Ketiga, Kontekstualisasi makna hadis yakni memiliki keturunan dan menjaaga keturunan.]

Abstract

Sekalipun pendidikan agama Islam dapat dipelajari dan tersedia dalam internet dapat diakses kapanpun dan dimanapun, namun kehadiran seorang kyai, ustaz, guru adalah hal yang tidak kalah penting sebagai sumber informasi dan pendidik mengenai ajaran agama Islam. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan metode bandongan, metode diskusi dan mendeskripsikan langkah-langkah yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan santri dalam memahami kitab Kuning. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi kualitatif. Peneliti menggunakan tiga pendekatan berbeda untuk memperoleh data: 1) observasi, 2) wawancara, dan 3) dokumentasi. Temuan penelitian dapat diperoleh dengan menganalisis data yang dikumpulkan yakni mereduksi data, menyajikan fakta, dan menarik kesimpulan untuk mengkaji hal tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: Penerapan metode bandongan dilakukan pada perkuliahan yang berkaitan dengan hadis, fiqh, nahwu, dan tauhid. 2) memasukkan teknik debat ke dalam kelas hadis, nahwu, dan fiqh. Meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap kitab kuning pada pembelajaran tauhid, nahwu fiqh, dan hadis dengan menekankan nilai-nilai kognitif, emosional, dan psikomotorik.

Abstract

One of the Qur'an manuscripts from the 20th century is the written version (mushḥaf) KH. Abdul Hamid Chasbullah. The mushḥaf is evidence of the historical heritage of the ulama of Nusantara who have special attention in the field of copying the Qur'an manuscripts. In this study, the author will examine the general description of the mushḥaf and the characteristics of the rasm by referring to the rules of Sheikh Jalal Al-din Al-Suyuthi in the book Al-Itqan fi Ulum Qur'an. The method that the author uses is qualitative research that leads to library research, by using observation tools, interviews, and documentation of the manuscript. The findings of this study are first, this mushḥaf is kept intact (not scattered) although some sheets have been lost and eaten by termites. This 32.3 x 21 x 7.5(cm) mushḥaf was written for the personal use of the copyist. It can be seen that there aren’t illustration and illumination aspects. Second, from the analysis of surah Al-Baqarah juz 2, the copying of this mushḥaf still adheres to the basics of mixed rules between the rasm utsmani and  imla'i. Likewise, in terms of qira'at, this mushḥaf mostly uses the history of Imam Hafs 'an Ashim, but some words use mixed history.

Abstract

This article investigates the syarah of the book an-Nail al-Hatsîts fî Hikâyât al-Hadîts (NHfHH) by Al-Imam Al Faqih Abu Laits As-Samarqandi with a focus on the study of syarah hadith methodology. This work by As-Samarqandi is classified as a book in the Sufism genre, which is arranged thematically and contains various explanations (syarah) of the saga. This research employs a qualitative design with literature research methods. Next, hadith data was collected from primary sources, namely NHfHH, and then the data was read by using the takhrij hadith method to trace the hadith reference sources. This research found out that NHfHH by As-Samarqandi is using the ijmali syarah method, which explains its syarah globally. Next, the writing of the syarah is originated from companions, tabi'in, Sufism, explanation of verses of the Al-Qur’an, verses of poetry, and unidentified sources. The sharia style of this book has five varieties: fiqh, social, Sufi lore, linguistics and education. In addition, As-Samarqandi uses expository narration based on actual facts and data. A suggestive narrative is based on events that involve the reader's imagination, so it is equipped with character dialogue, scenes of events, and resolution. The written book is comprehensively divided into chapters according to what society needs and is a tool for socialization about social values, motivation, and uplifting the soul. Thus, this makes this work accessible to understand, educates people on how to behave and do good deeds, and allows them to tolerate various events. Apart from that, it teaches an attitude of getting closer to Allah and trying to change a bad personality into a good one. In brief, NHfHH proves that the style of writing syarah hadith books has developed following society's need for prophetic messages.

Abstract

Along with the current development of the flow of information and mass media and communication that is so fast and sometimes the information that comes in is very fast and allows for confusion of facts which results in distortion of facts. With the development of communication and information media, it will certainly be closely related to the increasingly effective and dynamic process of scientific transformation. The interpretation tradition has also experienced developments in various fields, one of which is in the field of methodology, which uses the hermeneutic method. The meaning interpretation theory approach comes from Emilio Betti's hermeneutic theory, namely meaning interpretation initiated by Emilio Betti which emphasizes more on the reconstruction of meaning armed with the intellectual horizon of the interpreter (subject) Emilio Betti's hermeneutic theory as a means of interpreting Al-Qur'anic verses. One of them is the Actual Tafsir which is one of the works of Indonesian scholars, namely KH. Mustain Syafi'i, in the writing process, uses online newspapers on an online website (www.bangsaonline.com). So this paper presents how hermeneutical reasoning is conveyed by KH. Mustain Syafi'i in the interpretation of the QS Thaha verses 63-64 which he did on the online website. This research uses literature studies and literature reviews using journals, books, and others according to the research theme as the main data in this research.
