Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang Peningkatan Kemampuan Berpakaian Menggunakan Kaos Oblong Pada AnakDown Syndrome. Rumusan masalah yang dikaji penelitian ini adalah Bagaimanakah peningkatan kemampuanberpakaian kaos oblong melalui penerapan model pembelajaran langsung pada anak Down Syndrome Kelas IIIdi SLB YPPLB Pangkep. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: (1) Kemampuan berpakaian kaosoblong anak sebelum pemberian intervensi. (2) Kemampuan berpakaian kaos oblong anak saat pemberianintervensi melalui model pembelajaran langsung. (3) Kemampuan berpakaian kaos oblong anak setelahintervensi. (4) Kemampuan berpakaian kaos oblong anak berdasarkan analisis antar kondisi sebelum diberiintervensi, saat diberi intervensi, dan setelah diberi intervensi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakanadalah tes perbuatan dan observasi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah seorang anak Down Syndromeberinisial AS. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen yaitu Single Subject Research (SSR) dengandisain A-B-A. Kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini: (1) Kemampuan berpakaian kaos oblong anak Down Syndromesebelum pemberian intervensi berada pada kategori sangat kurang mampu. (2) Kemampuan berpakaian kaosoblong anak Down Syndrome meningkat ke kategori mampu pada kondisi intervensi. (3) Kemampuanberpakaian kaos oblong anak Down Syndrome meningkat ke kategori sangat mampu setelah pemberianintervensi. (4) Kemampuan berpakaian kaos oblong anak Down Syndrome berdasarkan analisis antar kondisi,sebelum pemberian intervensi berada pada kategori sangat kurang mampu, saat diberi intervensi meningkat kekategori mampu, dan setelah diberi intervensi meningkat ke kategori sangat mampu.

Abstract

This research examines the development of marble slide tube media in improving the ability to recognize numbers in class II deaf students at SLB Home Base. The formulation of the research problem is: (1) What are the results of the analysis of the needs for the development of a mathematical marble slide tube media in improving the ability to recognize numbers in class II deaf children? (2) What is media design that can improve the ability to recognize numbers in class II deaf children? (3) How is the validity and practicality of the marble slide tube media in improving the ability to recognize numbers in class II deaf children? (4) What is the feasibility of the marble slide tube media in improving the ability to recognize numbers in class II deaf children? The purpose of this study was to find out: (1) The results of the analysis of the needs for the development of mathematical marble slide tube media in improving the ability to recognize numbers in class II deaf children. (2) Media design that can improve the ability to recognize numbers in class II deaf children. (3) The validity and practicality of the marble slide tube media in improving the ability to recognize numbers in class II deaf children. (4) The feasibility of marble slide tube media in improving the ability to recognize numbers in class II deaf children. Data collection techniques are questionnaires and validity tests. The subjects of this study were two validators, namely lecturers from the Department of Special Education. This research is a development research with a 4-D model, namely: the Define Stage, the Design Stage, the Development Stage, and the Dissemination Stage. Data were analyzed by quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study concluded that the results of the validity test for the development of marble slide tube media in improving the ability to recognize numbers in class II deaf students at SLB Home Base.

Abstract

Doormat-making training can be an effective way to increase the independence of children with special needs. In this training, children are taught how to make mats using simple materials such as old t-shirts, wire, scissors, and sticks or chopsticks. The method used to train students with special needs to make mats from used t-shirts involves identifying their existing level of knowledge and skills, conducting training, and evaluating the training activities. The training in making mats from used t-shirts can be carried out and runs as expected. Students can follow the steps in making a mat, although it may require more time and patience from the trainer in guiding them.

Abstract

The objective of this community service activity is to conduct a comprehensive study aimed at enhancing the understanding of parents with children with special needs at SLB Negeri 1 Pare-Pare City, South Sulawesi. The study specifically focuses on the challenges faced by parents in comprehending the changes in their children with special needs during the transition from childhood to adolescence. The behavior and needs of children with special needs during adolescence are similar to those of children without special needs. Almost all children with special needs do not encounter issues with their body growth and development, including when they enter puberty. One of the responsibilities of parents is to provide an understanding of sex, along with guidance on how to protect themselves from sexual harassment and violence. To encourage parents of children with special needs to assist their children in understanding these issues, socialization is conducted along with simple exercises in parenting sex education for parents of children with special needs. The method used involves lectures and question-and-answer sessions on simple sex parenting exercises, with 22 parents participating. The results obtained after this activity show an increase in sexual parenting knowledge, as evidenced by the pre-test and post-test results. There was an 85.7% increase in the knowledge of the training participants, with a noticeable average improvement. This suggests that it may be recommended to expand the scope of service material with more complex exercises.

Abstract

Children with special needs in their learning require a different approach or method of learning from children in general. This tactile perception media making training aims to improve the skills of teachers in SLB YPPLB 2 Makassar in designing and making appropriate media for students with special needs, especially those with sensory limitations such as blind children and autistic children. Tactile media functions as a learning aid based on the sense of touch, enabling students to understand the concepts and shapes of flat shapes and numbers through sensory experiences. This program is implemented through three stages: preparation, implementation, and post-training assistance. The implementation stage includes an introduction to the concept of tactile perception, the practice of making media, and simulation of its use in the classroom. In addition, mentoring and evaluation are conducted to ensure sustainable implementation in the classroom. The training results showed significant improvement in teachers' skills in creating and using tactile media. Teachers also successfully integrated the media into the curriculum, creating more inclusive learning. The success of the training is supported by teachers' enthusiasm and support from the school, although there are still obstacles such as limited teacher time and technology resources. Overall, this training has a positive impact in improving the quality of learning for students with special needs in SLB YPPLB 2 Makassar. It is recommended that schools provide special time for teachers to develop media and collaborate with external parties to procure additional resources.

Abstract

Abstrak. Pelatihan bahasa isyarat bagi guru di SLB Negeri 1 Sidrap ini merupakan permasalahan mitra sebagai hasil diskusi dengan Kepala Sekolah dan merupakan upaya strategis dalam meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi bukan hanya antara guru dengan siswa tunarungu tetapi  juga melibatkan orang tua siswa serta siswa berkebutuhan khusus lainnya. Kegiatan utama pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membekali guru dengan pengetahuan dasar dan keterampilan praktis dalam menggunakan bahasa isyarat, sehingga mereka dapat lebih efektif dalam mengajar dan berkomunikasi dengan siswa tunarungu. Sasaran pelatihan ini adalah guru-guru SLBN 1 Sidrap dengan harapan pelatihan ini dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran bagi siswa berkebutuhan khusus tunarungu . Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan dengan metode pelatihan meliputi pendekatan teoretis dan praktik langsung, yang mencakup pengenalan abjad, kosa kata dasar, serta teknik berkomunikasi dalam konteks pendidikan antara tim pengabdi dengan guru -guru di SLB Negeri 1 Sidrap bersama teman tuli dan siswa tuli menggunakan bahasa isyarat. Evaluasi yang diolah adalah hasil pre test dan pos test yang dilakukan terhadap guru yang berjumlah 18 orang. Hasil yang diperoleh setelah pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat adalah terjadinya peningkatan sebesar 89 % dengan presentase kenaikan antara 20 %- 90 %. Sedangkan 11 % guru tidak mengalami perubahan pengetahuan dan keterampilan bahasa isyarat kemungkinan kerena post test dilaksanakan di siang menjelang sore hari sehingga guru tersebut kurang fokus dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal post tes. Kata Kunci: Bahasa Isyarat, Komunikasi, Tunarungu, Guru, SLB

Abstract

Parents of children with special needs (CSN) frequently experience intense emotional turmoil following their child's diagnosis. This qualitative study examines the transformation of parents' emotional responses before and after participating in a psychoeducational seminar titled "Educating Children with Special Needs by Understanding Their World." Analysis of twenty spontaneous narratives from parents at SLB Negeri 1 Gowa revealed three predominant pre-seminar themes: feelings of despair and helplessness, uncertainty about the child's future, and profound guilt. Post-seminar, three transformative themes emerged: enhanced acceptance of the child's condition, increased self-confidence in caregiving roles, and the development of social solidarity among participants. These findings highlight the effectiveness of empathetic and participatory psychoeducational interventions in facilitating parental acceptance and building resilience for the long-term support of children with special needs. The study contributes to understanding how structured educational interventions can positively impact parental emotional adaptation to challenging caregiving circumstances.

Abstract

Masalah utama yang dihadapi dalam pendidikan anak autis adalah munculnya perilaku maladaptif seperti tantrum, agresivitas, perilaku menghindar, dan perilaku stereotipikal, yang dapat menghambat proses belajar dan perkembangan sosial. Pendekatan berbasis modifikasi perilaku sangat dibutuhkan untuk menangani permasalahan tersebut secara efektif dan etis. Kegiatan PKM ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam menerapkan teknik-teknik modifikasi perilaku bagi anak autis. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dalam bentuk pelatihan yang mencakup aspek kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik guru di SLBN 1 Pinrang. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pretest dan posttest untuk menilai peningkatan pengetahuan (kognitif), lembar observasi praktik untuk menilai keterampilan (psikomotorik), serta kuesioner dan umpan balik terbuka untuk mengukur sikap dan kepuasan peserta (afektif). Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan aspek kognitif dengan melihat nilai saat pretest dari kategori kurang menjadi kategori sangat baik saat posttest. Aspek afektif dan psikomotor dengan merujuk ke skala likert angka 1-5 diperoleh hasil rata-rata 4,5 ke atas atau kategori sangat baik.

Abstract

This research examines the low ability to master vocabulary in class V deaf children at SLB Negeri Buol. The aim of this research is to find out: 1) The ability to master vocabulary in deaf children before using lift the flap book media. 2) The ability to master vocabulary in deaf children after using lift the flap book media. 3) The process of using lift the flap book media to increase vocabulary mastery abilities in deaf children. 4) Increased ability to master vocabulary in deaf children after using lift the flap book media. This research is quantitative research and a descriptive type of research. The data collection technique is a test. The subject of this research was a deaf child in class V. The data analysis technique was descriptive. The results of the research show that 1) The ability to master vocabulary before using lift the flap book media is in the very poor category, 2) The ability to master vocabulary after using the lift the flap book media is in the very good category, 3) The process of using the lift the flap book media increases vocabulary mastery in deaf children, 4) Using the lift the flap book media can increase the ability to master vocabulary in children deaf class V at SLB Negeri Buol.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi penilaian mitra terhadap kompetensi soft skills mahasiswa Pendidikan Khusus (PKh) yang mengikuti program Kampus Mengajar MBKM. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian ini melibatkan sekolah mitra yang berkolaborasi dengan mahasiswa PKh dalam program Kampus Mengajar MBKM pada tahun 2023. Data dikumpulkan melalui 15 indikator kompetensi soft skills yang mencakup ketaatan   dalam   menjalankan   ajaran   agama, tepat waktu hadir di sekolah dan di kelas mengajar, berpakaian rapi, disiplin, mampu melakukan Inovasi  dan  kreativitas untuk kemajuan Visi dan Misi sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas responden menilai mahasiswa PKh memiliki kompetensi soft skills yang baik. Hal ini tercermin pada berbagai aspek seperti kedisiplinan dalam mengajar/mendidik, tanggung jawab dalam menyelesaikan tugas, kejujuran dalam menyampaikan sesuatu, menerima kritik dan saran serta mampu bekerjasama.. Sebagian besar indikator menunjukkan tingkat kesepakatan yang tinggi dari responden, dengan kategori "Sangat Setuju" dan "Setuju" melebihi 90%. Namun, penelitian ini juga mengidentifikasi indikator yang kurang optimal yaitu ketepatan waktu pulang dari sekolah dan kesabaran mahasiswa di sekolah. Oleh karena itu  penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya perbaikan pengembangan soft skills lebih intensif, khususnya tepat waktu pulang sekolah dan kesabaran menghadapi siswa untuk peningkatan kualitas proses dan hasil belajar siswa.
