Abstract

This article discusses the history of modernization in Indonesian Islamic education, and how its traditional education system is open to modernizing forces. By examining Pesantren Tebuireng and Pesantren Mambaul Ulum, Java’s two old Islamic boarding schools  this study explains how the two pesantrens had become the subject of modernization to introduce “madrasah” system. The existing literature in the field suggests that there are two different opinions as to who was the first institution to develop the madrasah model—Pesantren Tebuireng or Pesantren Mambaul Ulum? This study reveals that, historically, Pesantren Tebuireng was the first pesantren that implemented the madrasah model; Pesantren Mambaul Ulum was not, given the fact that the latter is, institutionally, not a boarding school. There are two reasons why Mambaul Ulum is not considered as an Islamic boarding school. Firstly, the main founder of Mambaul Ulum was a King; therefore, intellectually, he did nothave a tradition with the Islamic boarding school system. Secondly, Mambaul Ulum was established with different motives, compared to other Islamic boarding schools established in Java at the time.DOI: 10.15408/sdi.v21i1.882

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan terkait komparasi terhadap pengajaran keterampilan berbicara Bahasa Arab dan Bahasa Inggris. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Jenis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu data skunder dan data primer. Sumber data diperoleh melalui teknik kepustakaan yang mengacu pada sumber yang tersedia seperti buku, jurnal ilmiah, dan informasi yang dapat dipercaya. Adapun hasil analisis komparasi terhadap pengajaran keterampilan berbicara Bahasa Arab dan Bahasa Inggris difokuskan pada mata pelajaran muhadatsah dan conversation yang terdiri dari 3 aspek, diantaranya yakni 1) Tujuan, pada mata pelajaran muhadatsah dan conversation keduanya memiliki tujuan yang sama yaitu untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berbicara siswa antara Bahasa Arab dan Bahasa Inggris, 2) Materi, pada mata pelajaran muhadatsah meterinya berfokus pada teks bacaan sehingga harus memperhatikan kaidah-kaidah gramatika Bahasa Arab, sedangkan pada mata pelajaran conversation berfokus agar siswa dapat mengungkapkan ide, gagasan, secara bebas tanpa terpaku pada suatu teks bacaan dan struktur gramatika, 3) Metode, dalam mata pelajaran muhadatsah guru biasanya menggunakan metode ceramah, hafalan dan tanya jawab sehingga pembelajaran lebih terpaku pada teacher centris. Sedangkan, pada mata pelajaran conversation guru menggunakan metode yang lebih bervariasi seprti tanya jawab, games, diskusi, dan debat yang mampu membuat siswa menjadi lebih aktif sehingga pembelajarannya bersifat students centris.

Abstract

Background: This article discusses the values of character education in the stories contained in Al-Qur'an surah Al-Buruuj verses 4-8. This study was motivated by the moral crisis of students in Indonesia associated with the lack of character education that refers to religious values, so researchers took a story in the Qur'an, namely the Ashaabul Ukhduud story contained in Al-Buruuj verse 4-8 for taking the values of character education, it is hoped that it can be a solution to the moral crisis experienced in this country. Aim: This study is intended to answer problems, namely what are the values of character education in the Ashaabul Uhduud story? This problem is discussed and answered through the Holy Qur'an and its interpretations which are the guidelines and explanations of Muslim scriptures. Method: Writing this thesis uses library research or library research. The method used is the tahlili method. The source of writing data is taken from books or materials that are relevant to the discussion of problems in writing this essay. The source of this research data is distinguished writing into two groups, the first is primary data sources originating from the Qur'an and interpretations then the second source is secondary data sources originating from sources/books that are still related to research problems. Findings: The values contained in Al-Buruj verses 4-8 are honesty, empathy, nationalism, tolerance, religion, discipline, courage, being a learner throughout life, and responsibility.

Abstract

Online learning is chosen during the Covid-19 pandemic. The problem that occurs is teachers as educators cannot directly supervise the development of students, so they need help from the informal educational institution.. In this context, parents take the role of facilitators during online learning. Not only limited to the educational function of parents, but it also has many roles that can be optimized so that children can grow and develop properly. The purpose of this study is toportray the role of families, especially parents in optimizing their role when online learning is present during the Covid 19 pandemic. The method used in this research was qualitative descriptive. This study used the data triangulation method as a technique to measurethe validity of the data. The analysis technique used in this research was interactive model analysis. The interactive analysis included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The main results of this study were parents, apart from being an educational institution, whoalso took a role of being shaping children's character and personality that is to stimulate children's linguistic intelligence. Parents can also stimulate children's intrapersonal intelligence by adapting to behavior that is appropriate to the local cultural environment. The contribution of this research includes the function of parents which is not only maximizing scientific education but also deepening the internalization of spiritual and religious values in children, as well as building good communication is needed to optimize the role of parents to children.

Abstract

ملخص البحث إن المواد التعليمية مهمة جدا فى عملية التعليم و التعلم. و لا بد أن تكون المواد التعليمية مطابقا بعملية التعليم. و يجرى تعليم اللغة العربية فى جامعة سوراكرتا الإسلامية عبر الانترنيت. فتحتاج المواد التعليمية على أساس أندرويد لتفعيل عملية التعليم و التعلم فيها. يستهدف هذا البحث لمعرفة الصورة العامة للمواد التعليمية لدرس خصوصي للغة العربية 2 جامعة سوراكرتا الإسلامية الحكومية و كيفية تطوير المواد التعليمية لدرس خصوصي للغة العربية 2 على أساس أندرويد و لمعرفة الجدوى من المواد المطور. هذا البحث يستخدم فيه طريقة البحث و التطوير. و أدوات جمع البيانات هي الملاحظة و المقابلة و الاستبيان. تحقيق المنتج المطوّر من الخبراء و الطلاب. و تقنية تحليل البيانات بالتحليل الوصفي و الكمّي. و نتيجة البحث هي: 1. استخدم الباحث فى تطوير المواد التعليمية على أساس أندرويد نموذج التطوير من بورغ وغال. و المنصة المستخدمة لتطوير المواد التعليمية هي منصة قادولار. 2. و النتيجة الأخيرة من المدقّقين من جوانب المادة و التعليم و العرض يحصل على المعدّل 3,616 فى الفئة "جيد جدا". و النتيجة الأخيرة من قبل طلاب من ناحية جوانب العرض يحصل على المعدّل 3,2 فى الفئة "جيد". استنادا إلى النتائج السابقة بمعنى المواد التعليمية المطوّرة ممكن الاستخدام فى تعليم اللغة العربية. Abstract Teaching materials are very important in the teaching and learning process. The educational materials must be in line with the teaching process. The Arabic language is taught at the Islamic University of Surakarta via the Internet. So the educational materials based on Android is needed to activate the teaching and learning process in it. This research aims to know the general picture of the educational materials for a private Arabic language lesson 2 at the State Islamic University of Surakarta and how to develop educational materials for an Arabic private lesson 2 on the basis of Android and to know the feasibility of the developed materials. This research uses the research and development method. The data collection tools are observation, interview and questionnaire. Achieving the product developed by experts and students. And the technique of data analysis by descriptive and quantitative analysis. The results of the research are: 1. In developing educational materials based on Android, the researcher used the development model from Borg and Gall. And the platform used to develop educational materials is the Kodular platform. 2. The final score of the auditors in terms of subject, education and presentation gets an average of 3,616 in the category “Very Good”. And the last score by students in terms of presentational aspects gets an average of 3,2 in the "good" category. Based on the previous results, meaning that the developed educational materials can be used in teaching Arabic.

Abstract

The article seeks to discuss Jean-Paul Sartre’s idea on Post-colonialism. The focus is on Sartre’s notion listed in Preface for Franz Fanon’s The Wretched of the Earth. Sartre stated that colonialism opposed humanism, since human beings came into the world in a free stance. Colonialism should be challenged with decolonization, aimed at revitalizing awareness of humanism obstructed by European monsters. Europe as the West, should not conduct violence and cruelty to Third world—the East. The West and the East, indeed, should not be confronted. This serves as a historical framework led to the emergence of first phase of Postcolonialism idea.

Abstract

The Pesantren Persatuan Islam that formed in 1936, is one of the private educational institutions in Indonesia. Until 1999, this institution has 154 educational institutions spread all over Indonesia. Although the current views of Islamic politics in Indonesia Persatuan Islam is not the mainstream, because he was small and not strong, but its contribution to Islam in Indonesia should also be taken into account. The internal contributions of Pesantren Persatuan Islam can be seen from the aspect of indoctrination, that this institution is an event-style formulation of the Persatuan Islam religious understanding. Then externally, the contribution of Pesantren Persatuan Islam can be viewed in terms of institutions, namely the institutional system, called pesantren. Unlike boarding institution in the traditional understanding, for the Pesantren Persatuan Islam are synonymous with modernity, that is still oriented “boarding-centric”, but with adaptive and accommodative attitude towards the development of science and technology originating from the West. With such institutional concept, Pesantren Persatuan Islam successfully gave birth to thousands of Muslim volunteers who spread to all parts of Indonesia. Number of Pesantren Persatuan Islam spread over almost the whole of Indonesia was already assured a large contribution to the strengthening of Islamic education in Indonesia.

Abstract

It is the fact that religious extracurricular learning is done differently and variously by each educational unit level. The interesting phenomenon happens in which is a learning process of religious education extracurricular at a high school of MTA Surakarta. The high school is registered as the list of the fifty leading Islamic high school in Indonesia. This study of educational ideology analyzes it is found that at the MTA high school is implemented the integrated curriculum structure, which is a national curriculum combined with diniyah curriculum. Although it is still in a small portion of the diniyah curriculum made as to its core curriculum. The Islamic extracurricular activities are implemented in various forms, such as the recitation on Sunday morning, a special recitation, Arba’in Hadith studies, and Riyadlus Shalihin, khitobah, BTA, Tahsin, Tahfidz, Muhadasah, and Tasyji’ul Lughoh and Nafar Ramadan.

Abstract

إن اللغة العربية صارت اليوم إحدى اللغات المرغوبة في تعليم وتعلمها، فلقد أنشأ كثير من المدارس التعليمية لتعليم وتعلم اللغة العربية في بلدان شتى، ومعهد محمدية الإسلامي(MBS) يوكياكرتا تمثل إحداها. فقد كان معهد MBS يهتم كثيرا بتعليم وتعلم اللغة العربية حيث إنه أعطى حصصا كثيرة في الأسبوع المدراسية، بل أنه جعل اللغة العربية أداة ووسيلة في بعض العملية التعليمية. ومهما اهتمام معهد MBS بتعليم اللغة العربية كبير إلا أن بعض المعلمين لا يزال يجدون صعوبة خلال العملية التعليمية. لهذا يهدف البحث الحالي إلى معرفة صعوبات تعليم الأصوات العربية وأثرها في الأداء اللغوي لدى تلميذات معهد MBS يوكياكرتا. المنهج المستخدم في هذا البحث هو المنهج المختلط، واستعان في تحليل بياناته على منهج ميليز وهوبيرمان (Miles and Humberman). أما الطريقة المستخدم لجمع البيانات البحث فهي الملاحظة، والمقابلة، والاستبانة، والاختبار. ويكون مجتمع البحث جميع معلمين اللغة العربية للبنات وتلميذات معهد MBS، وأما عينة البحث فهي سبعة الأساتذة ومئة تلميذات. وتشير نتائج البحث إلى أن المعلم وكيفية تعليمه للأصوات العربية يؤثر كثيرا في جودة الأداء اللغوي لدى التلميذات، وأن صعوبات التعليم قد تأتي من قبل المعلم، أو التلميذات أو الوسائل التعليمية كالوسائل السمعية أو مختبر اللغة، أو البيئة اللغوية.
