Abstract

Primary education plays a strategic role in shaping high-quality human capital that is adaptable to global change. Indonesia and Vietnam, two rapidly developing Southeast Asian countries in the education sector, have adopted different approaches to primary education curricula, both oriented toward 21st-century learning goals. This study compares the primary school curricula of Indonesia and Vietnam, focusing on educational structure, curriculum content, pedagogical strategies, language of instruction, and implementation challenges. Using a qualitative method based on literature analysis of national policies, international reports, and academic studies, the findings show that Indonesia’s Merdeka Curriculum emphasizes flexibility, project-based learning, and character building, while Vietnam’s 2018 General Education Curriculum follows a competency-based and cross-disciplinary integration model with an outcome-based assessment system. Both countries face similar implementation issues such as regional disparities, teacher readiness, and digital learning integration. The study suggests that regional collaboration and mutual learning can contribute to improving the quality and equity of primary education in Southeast Asia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPAS, khususnya materi kenampakan alam, melalui penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) pada peserta didik kelas IV SD Negeri 8 Tondano. Metode yang diterapkan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang berlangsung dalam dua siklus, dengan setiap siklus mencakup kegiatan perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Penelitian melibatkan 28 siswa yang terdiri atas 12 siswa laki-laki dan 16 siswa perempuan sebagai subjek penelitian. Data dikumpulkan melalui kegiatan observasi serta pemberian tes hasil belajar, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan berpedoman pada persentase ketuntasan belajar siswa. Temuan penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa penerapan model STAD memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar. Pada siklus I, rata-rata capaian belajar siswa berada pada angka 65,89% dengan tingkat ketuntasan sebesar 35,71%. Setelah dilakukan perbaikan pembelajaran pada siklus II, rata-rata hasil belajar meningkat menjadi 86,07% dan seluruh siswa berhasil mencapai ketuntasan belajar dengan persentase 100%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat dinyatakan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPAS pada siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 8 Tondano.

Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the influence of teacher creativity on the learning motivation of public elementary school students in Tomohon City using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach. The research applied a quantitative explanatory design. The population included all fifth- and sixth-grade students from 21 public elementary schools in Tomohon City. Using the Lemeshow formula with a 95% confidence level, the study obtained a sample of 384 respondents. Data were gathered through a Likert-scale questionnaire containing 8 indicators of teacher creativity and 10 indicators of learning motivation. The data were analyzed using AMOS through descriptive statistics, measurement model analysis, and structural model evaluation. The results showed that teacher creativity was categorized as very high, with an average score of 4.444, while students’ learning motivation was also classified as very high, with a mean score of 4.392. In addition, the SEM analysis demonstrated that the proposed model achieved a good fit. The findings further confirmed that teacher creativity had a positive and significant influence on students’ learning motivation, as indicated by a standardized path coefficient of 0.471 and a significance level of p < 0.001. Therefore, the study concludes that enhancing teacher creativity can effectively increase students’ learning motivation
