Abstract

The understanding of liberalism in people’s minds still has a narrowed meaning, without realizing the influence of liberalism is growing in life, especially in the era of swift flow of information and freedom of expression in the digital world. This research discusses the dynamics of the development of Islam and liberalism, with the analysis of maudhu’I tafsir in surah yunus verse 41 about the response of Muslims in dealing with differences in views, especially in liberalism in the digital era. This research method is qualitative using maudhu’I tafsir analysis and literature studies related to the dynamics of its development. The results of the study indicate that tolerance and the responsibility of da'wah are the answers to the problem, maudhu’I interpretation strengthens the principle without having to sacrifice the integrity of the faith. This research contributes to contemporary Islamic discourse, especially in building a narrative of religious moderation in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to explain how Muslim societies respond to globalization issues, particularly in the context of preaching through the medium of film. One of the cases raised was a Malaysian production bid’ah-themed film that was being widely discussed, showing that preaching is now not only done orally, but also through the visual medium. Globalization and technological developments have facilitated social and religious activity, including in the spread of preaching. This study uses a qualitative method with a thematic interpretation (maudhu’I interpretation) approach, namely by tracing the relevant verses of the Qur’an using keywords, then analyzed through translation, interpretation, asbabun nuzul, and the meaning of their content. Data sources were obtained from reliable journals, books, and references. The results of this study are expected to provide an overview of how Islam makes sense of globalization as well as the role of technological media, such as film, in communicating the values of preaching effectively and contextually.

Abstract

This research aims to discuss the dynamics and challenges of secularism in various aspects of life, as well as Islam’s perspective on the concept, particularly through a thematic Qur’anic interpretation (tafsir maudhu’I This study uses a qualitative approach with library research methods, drawing on primary sources such as the Qur’an and classical exegesis, and secondary sources including academic articles and journals. The findings and discussion cover the definition of secularism, its development in politics, law, education, economy, and society, as well as the Islamic response to the ideology that separates religion from public life. The study concludes that islam is a comprehensive way of life (kaffah) that cannot be separated from worldly affairs. Islamic values remain relevant in addressing modern secular challenges. This research is expected to provide a critical understanding of the impact of secularism in Muslim societies. However, It is limited by the lack of empirical data on the actual implementation of secularism in Muslim-majority countries. Therefore, further research is needed to explore more practical and contextual approaches to the role of religion is modern public life.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of religious pluralism from an Islamic perspective, focusing on its theological and social dimensions through a thematic interpretation (tafsir maudhu’i) of relevant Qur’anic verses. The research employs a qualitative method based on literature review, using content analysis of the Qur’an and scholarly works from both Islamic and Western thinkers on pluralism. The main theoretical framework is the theory of religious pluralism, which emphasizes the acknowledgment of belief diversity, as proposed by figures such as John Hick and critically examined by Islamic scholars. The findings indicate that pluralism in Islam does not imply the theological equality of all religions, but rather recognizes religious diversity as a social reality willed by God. The Qur’an promotes values of tolerance, justice, and coexistence within diversity. Thus, Islam supports the principle of pluralism in social and ethical terms, while maintaining the normative truth claim of its own teachings.

Abstract

Islam and state institutions have long been the focus of academic research and popular discussion. Islam is one of the major world faiths, and as such, it has a big impact on the social, legal, and political environments of many countries, especially those where the majority population is Muslim. This article examines the complex relationships between Islam and state institutions, looking at how Islamic values influence the creation and application of laws, regulations, and governmental frameworks. It explores the difficulties of balancing Islamic principles with contemporary state governance through a comparative study of various strategies used by nations with a majority of Muslims population. It also addresses the opportunities and difficulties that arise from the interaction of Islam with state institutions, emphasizing the need to strike a balance between religious observance and democratic ideals as well as the consequences for social justice, human rights, and sustainable development. This essay seeks to advance knowledge of the changing dynamic between Islam and state institutions in modern countries by clarifying these nuances.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji landasan pemikiran Islam tentang penggunaan cadar, jilbab, dan burqa melalui metode tafsir maudhu'i dengan pendekatan kualitatif berbasis studi pustaka. Hasil analisis terhadap Al-Qur'an, Hadis, dan pandangan ulama menunjukkan bahwa busana-busana tersebut merupakan bentuk ekspresi iman dan identitas dengan dimensi spiritual dan sosial. Di Indonesia, perdebatan mengenai penggunaannya terus berlangsung dalam berbagai sektor. Kajian menyimpulkan pentingnya pemahaman seimbang terhadap fenomena ini, dengan tetap menekankan esensi syariat Islam pada nilai kesopanan, kehormatan, dan perlindungan perempuan untuk menghindari polarisasi yang merugikan hak perempuan Muslim

Abstract

Pluralisme agama merupakan isu yang terus menjadi perdebatan dalam dunia Islam kontemporer. Perbedaan penafsiran terhadap makna pluralisme memunculkan spektrum pandangan yang luas, mulai dari penerimaan sebagai bentuk toleransi hingga penolakan karena dianggap relativistik. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konsep pluralisme dalam Islam melalui pendekatan tafsir maudhui, yakni dengan menelusuri ayat-ayat al-Qur’an yang membahas hubungan antar umat beragama, pengakuan terhadap keragaman, dan prinsip koeksistensi damai. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan tahapan inventarisasi ayat, kajian tematik, serta analisis komparatif terhadap pandangan mufasir klasik dan kontemporer. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa Islam secara normatif mengakui keberagaman agama sebagai bagian dari kehendak Ilahi, namun tetap menegaskan posisi Islam sebagai jalan kebenaran. Dengan demikian, pluralisme dalam Islam tidak berarti penyeragaman keyakinan, melainkan etika hidup berdampingan dalam keadilan dan perdamaian. Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi kualitatif, meliputi kajian pustaka dan metodologi tafsir maudhu'i (tafsir tematik), untuk mengkaji pengertian Hak Asasi Manusia (HAM) dari perspektif Islam. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengkaji persepsi tentang pertentangan antara syariat Islam dan hak asasi manusia, sekaligus untuk memahami bagaimana Islam memandang hak asasi manusia dan membandingkannya dengan gagasan hak asasi manusia Barat. Maqasid al-syariah, yang melindungi lima aspek hakiki eksistensi manusia, agama (hifz al-din), jiwa (hifz al-nafs), akal (hifz al-aql), keturunan (hifz al-nasl), dan harta (hifz al-mal) merupakan cara Islam memperkenalkan gagasan hak asasi manusia jauh sebelum Deklarasi Universal Hak Asasi Manusia tahun 1948, menurut temuan kajian ini. Hak asasi manusia dalam Islam bersifat teosentris dan berakar pada wahyu ilahi, berbeda dengan hak asasi manusia Barat yang berasal dari sekuler. Banyak ayat dalam Al-Qur'an dan yang menjunjung tinggi hak asasi manusia yang fundamental, termasuk hak untuk hidup, kebebasan beragama, harga diri, keadilan, dan kesejahteraan sosial. Menurut penelitian ini, kurangnya kontekstualisasi dalam penerapan hukum Islam dan pemahaman yang dangkal terhadap ajaran-ajarannya lebih menjadi penyebab konflik yang dirasakan antara kedua kerangka hukum ini. Islam pada dasarnya konsisten dengan konsep-konsep hak asasi manusia global, menurut para ulama seperti Quraish Shihab, Rasyid Rida, Fazlur Rahman, dan Hamka. Karena didasarkan pada cita-cita ilahi, Islam bahkan menawarkan fondasi yang lebih kuat. Menurut prinsip Islam al-huquq wa al-wajibat, hak selalu disertai dengan kewajiban untuk menjaga keseimbangan antara kepentingan individu dan kolektif

Abstract

This study explores the practice of Qur’an Journaling on the Instagram account @helmpaperco as a manifestation of Living Qur’an in the digital culture. Utilizing a qualitative approach with etnographic methods, this research finds that digital journaling activities create a reflective and spiritual space that strengthens personal connections with the Qur’an. This practice is characterized by users' emotional and intellectual engagement, as well as thematic and adabi-ruhi interpretations. These findings indicate that social media can serve as an effective medium for contextual and participatory engagement with the values of the Qur’an.

Abstract

Studi ini mengkaji bagaimana akun Instagram @tafsiralmishbah.digital menyajikan konten tafsir Al-Qur’an dengan menerapkan pendekatan Analisis Media Siber (AMS) yang dikembangkan oleh Rulli Nasrullah. Topik ini dipilih karena meningkatnya tren dakwah melalui media sosial serta pentingnya keabsahan dalam penyebaran tafsir. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif-deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan wawancara. Penelitian ini menganalisis empat dimensi utama dalam pendekatan Analisis Media Siber: Ruang Media (Media Space), Dokumen Media (Media Archive), Objek Media (Media Object), dan Pengalaman (Experiential Stories). Temuan menunjukkan bahwa akun tersebut memadukan nilai sosial dalam penafsiran (adab al-ijtima’i) dengan penyajian visual dan fitur interaktif Instagram. Respons pengguna menunjukkan adanya pengalaman religius yang mendalam dan komunitas maya yang saling terhubung secara spiritual. Penelitian ini menyoroti pentingnya menghadirkan konten tafsir yang valid, kontekstual, dan edukatif dalam lanskap digital. Hasilnya menjadi acuan bagi pengembangan dakwah berbasis media sosial yang relevan dan bertanggung jawab di era digital.
