Abstract

The purpose of this literature review is to examine and summarize several articles that discuss the development and implementation of Student Worksheets (LKPD) with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on the Arithmetic Sequences and Series material. The method used in this study is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) which consists of 6 stages, namely: Research Question, Selection Criteria, Search Strategy, Select Studies, The Quality of Studies, and Synthesis Result. This study uses PICOC analysis (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome, and Context). The articles reviewed amounted to 12 relevant articles and were published from 2020 to 2025. The results of this study indicate that the development and implementation of LKPD have a positive impact on improving student learning outcomes. In addition, the results of this study also show that LKPD using the Problem Based Learning model can hone students' problem-solving skills, mathematical understanding skills, mathematical reasoning and mathematical communication, especially on the Arithmetic Sequences and Series material.

Abstract

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of "verbal probes" through in-depth interviews to uncover students' mathematical conceptual understandings that are not visible from written answers. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study analyzed the gap between written answers and verbal comprehension of three students with different skill levels on PISA-like questions themed Uncertainty and Data. The results showed a significant "gap between written answers and verbal comprehension". Students who give incorrect written answers, when interviewed, are able to articulate a deeper conceptual understanding, identify their mistakes, and explain correct procedures regarding the concepts of confidence intervals, exponential growth, and probability. In contrast, students with limited verbal comprehension consistently show reliance on number operations without a conceptual foundation. The study concludes that in-depth interviews are a crucial formative assessment tool to complement traditional methods. This allows educators to accurately diagnose misconceptions and design more holistic and targeted learning interventions.

Abstract

Mathematics is often regarded as an abstract discipline that is difficult for students to understand when it is not connected to real-life experience. One approach to bridging school mathematics and mathematics as practiced in society is through the study of ethnomathematics, particularly the local units of measurement used by traders in buying and selling transactions. This study aims to explore the local units used in trading activities at Pasar Satelit, Lubuklinggau, and to describe the mathematical concepts embedded within them. This research employed a qualitative approach with an ethnographic design. Data were collected through observation, interviews with traders, and documentation, including comparative data from buying and selling posts on Facebook, which were then analyzed using the interactive Miles and Huberman model comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that traders at Pasar Satelit Lubuklinggau still use local units such as seikat (bunch), sekebat (bundle), secanting (scoop), sebungkus (pack), semato (piece), and seperempat (quarter) alongside standard units (kilogram, gram, liter) in selling their goods. These units contain mathematical concepts including counting numbers, fractions, non-standard estimation, comparison, and value conversion that are socially agreed upon and passed down through generations. Comparison with Facebook data from sellers of agricultural produce in Lubuklinggau shows that the kilogram unit is consistently used to sell chili and onions, while the units seikat/sekebat (bunch) are also still used in vegetable-selling posts, both in direct transactions at Pasar Satelit and in online transactions. The results of this study can be utilized as a contextual mathematics learning resource based on ethnomathematics as well as an effort to preserve the local culture of Lubuklinggau City.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the concept of ethnomathematics in local culinary culture of South Sumatra, particularly tempoyak, and to present the findings through an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-assisted digital poster. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through an online questionnaire and interviews. The questionnaire was administered to 18 respondents to determine their use of social media and their knowledge of the culture and local culinary traditions of South Sumatra. An interview was conducted with Mrs. Sariyani, a tempoyak maker in Lubuklinggau Barat I, to obtain information regarding the ingredients, measurements, preparation process, and fermentation. The results showed that 88.9% of respondents were familiar with tempoyak, but 38.9% were not yet aware of its ingredients and preparation stages. Meanwhile, 88.9% expressed interest in information presented through a digital poster. The interview results indicated a measurement of 1 kg of durian and 2 tablespoons of salt, demonstrating the concept of ratio 1,000 : 36 = 250 : 9.
