Abstract

Background: Stunting, one of the malnutrition that started since in pregnant until 2 first life's years and made worse by repeated infection disease.  Objectives: This study aims to identify the correlation between the presence of gut microbiota and stunting.  Discusion: This study explored article Pubmed database, Science Direct, Sage Journal, Springer Link, through keywords “stunting, gut microbiota, under 5 years”.  Furthermore, the studies found are 5 open access articles, and were filtered since 2016 until 2021. The guts microbiota may contribute to stunting in children. Gastrointestinal infection has spesific mechanism that causing postnatal stunting. Immaturity and deficiency of non-pathogenic microbiota in the gut are the main causes. Decreased gastrointestinal microbiota diversity in children who suffer diarrhea and stunting. Conclusions: composition change of the gut bacteria of children have been associated with an increase in the number of gastrointestinal infections resulting in chronic growth disorders.

Abstract

Background: Traditional food is the most potent food to develop and is an essential component in intervention strategy for increasing toddler daily consumption. Traditional food contributes to micro-nutrition and protein, which are needed for toddler growth. Objectives: This research aimed to identify traditional food and toddlers' traditional food consumption in coastal families in three ethnicity in Bengkulu. Methods: This research used a cross-sectional design. Samples were mothers as food givers in the family, and the analysis unit was the toddler, in a total of 115, picked randomly from 137 households with 12-59 months old toddlers. Data was collected using quantitative and qualitative techniques, in-depth interviews, and food recall forms. Traditional food identification comes from FFQ (Food Frequency Questionnaire). Consumption of toddler fisherman family data that had been collected and compared with RDA 2019. Analyses were done by formulating the results from the in-depth interview and uni variate analysis.  Results: Traditional food contribution to fisherman's toddler contained 19.34% energy, 40.86% protein, 17.65% fat, 17.65% carbohydrate, 16,3% PUFA fat acid, and 13.8% MUFA. Many different traditional foods often consumed by Melayu, Serawai, and Minang ethics in coastal families could be classified as fish, vegetables, and snacks. Conclusions: Traditional food contribution could fulfill nutritional needs of energy and macro-nutrients ranging from 17-41%. We must increase traditional food consumption in coastal families by varying processing so that each ethnicity's distinctive taste in traditional food can be maintained.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Pada tahun 2020 wabah Virus Corona (Covid-19) menyebar hampir di seluruh Negara. Cara untuk mengatasi Covid-19 yaitu dengan peran vitamin C dan D. Vitamin C memiliki sifat antioksidan yang mampu melindungi sel dan jaringan tubuh dari kerusakan oksidatif. Sedangkan vitamin D berperan meningkatkan innate imunity yang akan menghambat aktivitas bakteri Covid-19.Tujuan: Penlitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji artikel tentang suplementasi vitamin C dan vitamin D terhadap imunitas pasien covid-19.Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan kajian (ulasan) literatur pada 10 artikel dengan menggunakan database Google Scholar, Pubmed dan Science Direct terbitan tahun 2019-2021. Studi ini diawali penyeleksian artikel  dengan diagram Preferred Reporting Item for Systematic and Meta-analysis (PRISMA). Kriteria yang digunakan adalah artikel yang diakses secara penuh ( full text) dalam format pdf  menggunakan bahasa Inggris dengan kata kunci vitamin C, vitamin D dan Covid-19.Hasil: Literatur review ini menunjukkan bahwa dari 10 artikel yang terdiri masing-masing 5 artikel tentang vitamin C dan vitamin D. Pemberian suplementasi vitamin C dapat mengurangi gejala, meningkatkan kesadaran dan menurunkan risiko kematian akibat Covid-19. Suplementasi vitamin D berpengaruh terhadap lama hari rawat di rumah sakit, kebutuhan oksigen dan peningkatan serum 25(OH)D sehingga dapat mempercepat penyembuhan Covid-19.Simpulan: Vitamin C berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan sistem imun dan berfungsi sebagai antioksidan. Vitamin D dapat berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan sistem imun bawaan dan sistem imun adaptif, sehingga dapat mempercepat penyembuhan infeksi Covid-19.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of adding moringa leaf powder to crawfish-based nuggets to the organoleptic quality and calcium content. The initial stage was the preparation of the ingredients, which continued with the manufacture of moringa leaf flour and optimation of nuggets, as well as organoleptic testing. The best formulation was followed by an analysis of calcium levels. This study involved 30 students as panelists. The results of the Kruskal-Wallis test indicated that there were differences in color and texture with a p value= 0,018 and p value= 0,044, respectively. Mann-Whitney test obtained a p value of 0,450, which indicate no difference in color between formulations 1 and 2, but it was found that there was a color difference in the formulation with the addition of 5 grams of moringa leaf powder (p= 0,005). There was an effect of the addition of moringa leaf powder between formulations F2 and F3 with p= 0,034 and p= 0,034 on the texture between formulations 1 and 2, but there was no difference in texture between formulations 1 and 3 with a value of p= 0,800. The calcium levels in nuggets with the addition of 10 grams of leaf flour moringa was 289 mg/%. Nuggets with the addition of 10 grams of moringa leaf flour (F2) were the most preferred by the panelists in terms of taste and texture, and the calcium content could meet 30 percent of the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA).

Abstract

Toddler age is a period of rapid growth and development. Picky eater occurs a lot at the age of toddlers and twice the risk to have a lower weight than children who are not picky eater. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of picky eater behavior with nutritional status (BB / U) of children age 2-5 years in the working area of Puskesmas Anggut Atas Bengkulu.This research uses analytic observational with cross sectional design. The number of samples of 70 children aged 2-5 years in the Work Area of Puskesmas Anggut Atas Bengkulu. Univariate and bivariate data analysis with chi square statistical test.The result that nutritional status based on BB / U of normal category was 75.7% and picky eater behavior was 58.6% while the statistical test showed probability (p) of 0.981 (p <0.05). There is no correlation between picky eater behavior with nutritional status (BB / U) of children aged 2-5 years in the work area of Puskesmas Anggut Atas Bengkulu. Consultation and counseling  is needed to parents who have children under five, so that voter behavior can be changed.

Abstract

Stunting is a health problem that contributes to child morbidity and mortality. Stunting prevention can be done through nutritional interventions. The high stunting prevalence in Seluma Regency is due to knowledge, culture, socio-economic and others. The purpose of the activity is to improve the children's nutrition and mothers to increase the child's growth and development to prevent stunting through cadres empowerment. The method of activities is the socialization of the first 1000 days of life, cadre training, education of lactations, giving additional nutrition, and cadre assistance. The targets are cadres and mothers. Assessment of knowledge through questionnaires, for the ability of cadres and lactation mothers by direct observation. The results showed an increase in the average knowledge of cadres by 10 points after training, an increase in the knowledge and skills of lactation mothers, exclusive breastfeeding at 57.17%, and good breastfeeding frequency at 85%. Optimizing cadres is useful in promoting nutrition to prevent stunting.

Abstract

Indonesia sepakat untuk meraih predikat  Indonesia emas pada tahun 2045. Kesehatan dan status gizi sebagai hulu untuk mewujudkan Indonesia emas harus dibentuk sumberdaya manusia yang berkualitas. Sementara pada awal tahun 2020 dunia dikejutkan dengan berkembangnya pandemik penyakit infeksi Covid19 yang menyebabkan infeksi saluran pernafasan mulai dari gejala ringan sampai kematian. Penyebaran virus ini sangat cepat dan virulensinya mematikan apabila tubuh tidak memiliki imunitas yang baik. Kasus tertinggi di DKI Jakarta terhitung  pada tanggal 15 April 2020 dengan 2447 kasus positif Covid, yang dirawat 1424 orang (58%), pasien meninggal 246 orang (10%), ODP : 2.991 orang, PDP : 2457 orang. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini  merupaka interprofesional education, kategori Unggulan Nasional Program Pengembangan Desa Sehat. Rangkaian kegiatan diawali denga perizinan lokasi  dari Suku Dinas Keshatan Kota Administrasi Jakarta Selatan, Puskesmas Kecamatan Pesanggrahan, Kelurahan  Ulujami,  Puskesmas Kelurahan Ulujami, Ketua RW dan RT serta para kader.Rangkaian kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat meliputi pelatihan diikuti oleh kader, karangtaruna, serta para ketua RW dan ketua RT.  Sebagian besar peserta perempuan, umur terbanyak pada kelompok 40-49 tahun, sebagian besar tingkat pendidikan menengah atas, sebagian besar sebagai ibu runmah tangga. Hasil pelatihan diperoleh peningkatan  pengetahuan 11 poin, dan peningatan sikap 10 poin. Kegiata lain meliputi demo makanan gizi seimbang, berjemur dan aktifitas fisik, pemanfaatan lahan kosong, dan pembuatan mural dengan pesan gizi seimbangm aktifitas fisik dan pesan hidup bersih hidup sehat.Pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini mendapat respom positif dari pemerintah dan masyarakat.

Abstract

Pemantauan berat badan balita akan berhasil dengan baik apabila ada partisipasi aktif masyarakat melalui kehadiran atau kunjungan ibu menimbangkan anaknya di posyandu. Upaya meningkatkan cakupan partisipasi masyarakat (D/S) dapat dimulai dari keaktifan ader posyandu dan pendekatan yang dilakukan. Salah satu alternatif melalui kegiatan pemberdayaan kader dengan peningkatan pemahaman menggunakan media cakram. Kegiatan edukasi “Pemberdayaan Kader dalam Peningkatan D/S dan Deteksi Dini Status Gizi Balita 24-59 bulan” dilakukan di Posyandu Berkat, Posyandu Tunas Muda, Posyandu Cendana dan Posyandu Sepakat, Kota Bengkulu. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan kader posyandu tentang interpretasi capaian khususnya D/S dan meningkatkan keterampilan kader menggunakan cakram gizi. Terjadi perubahan pengetahuan kader melalui peningkatan nilai rata-rata pre dan post-test sebanyak 14 poin dari 66 poin menjadi 80 poin. Penggunaan media cakram, dapat mempermudah kader dalam mendeteksi dan menginterpretasi status gizi balita dengan cepat. Untuk keberlanjutan kegiatan, terdapat harapan dalam menggunakan lingkaran status gizi, yaitu kader mempunyai kemampuan untuk memahami dan menerapkan pada kegiatan penimbangan di posyandu setiap bulannya sehingga dapat mendeteksi sedini mungkin masalah gizi.

Abstract

Latar Balakang: ASI, makanan pertama untuk bayi, mengandung zat gizi yang dibutuhkan bayi agar tetap sehat. Antibodi pada ASI dapat mencegah berbagai penyakit dan memberi perlindungan terhadap diare. Salah satu penyebab kematian terbesar pada kelompok umur 0–12 bulan (11,4%) dan pada anak (23%) adalah diare. Prevalensi diare di Provinsi Bengkulu berada di angka 14,3%. Tujuan: Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui hubungan pemberian ASI eksklusif dengan kejadian diare pada bayi 0–6 bulan di Provinsi Bengkulu. Metode: Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan rancangan cross-sectional yang mengkaji data sekunder SDKI 2017. Penelitian ini melakukan observasi terhadap kuesioner ASI eksklusif dan kejadian diare pada bayi usia 0–6 bulan dengan total data yang dikaji sebanyak 233 data. Analisis data dilakukan secara univariat dan bivariat menggunakan uji Chi-Square dengan tingkat kemaknaan 95% (p<0,05). Hasil: Capaian pemberian ASI eksklusif bayi usia 0–6 bulan sebesar 51,1%, dan bayi yang mengalami diare sebesar 20,1%. Kejadian diare ditemukan lebih besar pada bayi usia 0–6 bulan yang tidak mendapat ASI eksklusif (11,1%) dibanding yang mendapatkan ASI eksklusif (9%) (p=0,413). Kesimpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan signifikan antara pemberian ASI eksklusif dengan kejadian diare pada bayi 0–6 bulan di Provinsi Bengkulu.

Abstract

Background: One of the factors causing mothers' low number of visits to Integrated Healthcare (in Indonesia called Posyandu) is the lack of knowledge about Integrated Healthcare (IHC) visits, which impacts not detecting the nutritional status of children under five. Knowledge of mothers of toddlers is very important to improve the health of toddlers so that they can direct mothers to behave positively when visiting IHC.Objectives: The research aims to increase the knowledge of mothers of toddlers aged 24-59 months about visiting IHC using disc media at the Sawah Lebar Health Center, Bengkulu. Methods: Quantitative research using the Quasy experimental design was carried out at the Sawah Lebar Bengkulu Health Center from March to April 2023. The subjects involved were 40 mothers who were divided into two groups. The intervention used disc media and leaflet media with a Visit to IHC theme. Data was collected by interview using a ten-question questionnaire during the pre-test and post-test. The data obtained was tested using the Dependent T-test and Independent T-test parameters at a 95% confidence interval. Results: The difference in knowledge scores before and after being given education using disc media was 29,00. Meanwhile, education using leaflets obtained a difference in the average knowledge value of 21,50. There was an effect of nutritional education using disc media (p= 0,000) and leaflet media (p= 0,000) on increasing the knowledge of mothers of toddlers about visiting IHC. Conclusion: Nutrition education using disc media and leaflet media influences increasing the knowledge of mothers of toddlers about visiting IHC at the Sawah Lebar Bengkulu Health Center.
