Abstract

AbstractThe development of competency assessments that measure 21st century competencies is critical for improving the quality of education. The purpose of this research is to describe a framework and prototype for assessing Math and Science or Math-Sci competency skills in the twenty-first century. The method of development research employed in this study is based on the Akker framework, which entails preliminary research, prototyping, design, and development in a paper and pencil test format. The equipment of the investigation included observation sheets, questionnaires, and tests. This study results in a conceptual framework for the instrument and a verified prototype of the Math-Sci competence evaluation. The Math-Sci competence evaluation is conceptualized around thematic, interdisciplinary questions that integrate three (three) subjects, namely Science (Biology-Physics) and Mathematics, in an Islamic context. Math-Sci, using the ladder analogy (monodisciplinary, interdisciplinary 1, and interdisciplinary 2) to rank students' competency, relates to the thought process of Bloom's taxonomy, the context, and the complexity of the topic. The instrument created was deemed valid and practicable based on the results of expert validation. The development of the Math-Sci competence assessment instrument was the first step toward strengthening assessment for learning and assisting in the improvement of learning through the presentation of integrated contextual problems. AbstrakPengembangan asesmen kompetensi yang membekalkan kecakapan abad 21 sangat urgent untuk memperbaiki proses pembelajaran di sekolah. Abstract

Integrating entrepreneurship into various subjects, particularly biology, helps foster creativity and problem-solving skills. Often seen as theoretical, biology can link to entrepreneurship through eco-friendly activities. This study aims to develop electronic worksheets (E-LKPD) as a learning tool based on ecopreneurship to increase students' interest in entrepreneurship, especially in waste recycling, within an Islamic context. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with a 4-D development model Thiagarajan (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate), which is modified into 3D (without Disseminate). The instruments used in this research included a checklist of student’s worksheets, interview sheets, content validity for student worksheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and pre-questionnaire and post-questionnaire entrepreneurship interests. The development process involved validity testing by nine experts, readability testing by 15 students, and field trials by one biology teacher and 36 students. The results showed that the E-LKPD had a very high validity and readability. Teachers and students gave positive feedback during the field trials, and the entrepreneurial interest of students increased significantly, moving from a high to a very high category after using E-LKPD. It indicates that the electronic worksheets are valid and practical for enhancing entrepreneurial interest within biology, particularly in environmental awareness and sustainability. E-LKPD based on ecopreneurship also successfully integrates Islamic values, such as responsibility and concern for the environment. In this way, students not only get academic knowledge, but also entrepreneurial skills.

Abstract

This study explored the interpersonal relationship between teachers' and students' attitudes toward biology. The research method used was a survey, where data were collected from 6 public senior high schools in Depok City, involving 88 grade 11 students selected through cluster random sampling. Two adapted and transliterated questionnaires were employed: the Questionnaire on Teacher Interaction (QTI) and the Test of Science-Related Attitudes (TOSRA). Data was analyzed using Rasch modeling with Winsteps software and other applications such as SPSS and Edraw.AI. The results indicated that the interpersonal relationship between biology teachers and senior high school students in Depok City was relatively positive. Biology teachers were perceived as somewhat dominant but highly cooperative with students in the classroom. On the interpersonal behavior scale, biology teachers exhibited higher leadership, helpful/friendly, and understanding behaviors than opposing behaviors. Furthermore, an analysis of the teachers' interpersonal behavior profiles revealed that biology teachers in Depok City were classified as directive. A two-variable relationship analysis showed a negative correlation between the closeness (CO) dimension, the Attitude Towards Scientific Inquiry dimension, and the influence (DS) dimension with students' career interest in biology.

Abstract

The people of Kampung Cireundeu have preserved a unique ethnoagricultural tradition centered on cassava cultivation, which plays a vital role in sustaining their food sovereignty and security. This study aims to explore how this tradition reflects principles of environmental education. Employing an ethnographic approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal five key traditions passed down across generations. First, the community practices land management by dividing fields into multiple plots planted sustainably using intercropping, ensuring continuous food surplus. Second, they implement fallow periods (Bera) to restore soil fertility. Third, sheep are raised alongside crops, providing economic support. Fourth, cassava is processed into Beras Singkong (Rasi) as a rice substitute. Fifth, Rasi is creatively transformed into a variety of daily meals. These interrelated practices illustrate how local knowledge and ecological wisdom contribute to both food sovereignty and environmental sustainability. Furthermore, the community’s ethnoagricultural system serves as a rich educational model for promoting environmental awareness and sustainable living. The study underscores the importance of integrating indigenous agricultural practices into environmental education frameworks to support resilient food systems.

Abstract

Digital-based learning can mediate technical barriers and create a support system that enhances the effectiveness of education. This study aims to develop biology learning media, DigitalWIV-S, to enhance the inquiry skills and digital literacy of prospective science teachers. The development method follows Hannafin & Peck's model, which includes the phases of Needs Assessment, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research findings indicate that DigitalWIV-S, as a biology learning media, is deemed appropriate and received positive feedback from students. The evaluation of digital literacy is excellent across cognitive, affective, and conative aspects. Students' inquiry skills are very good in problem orientation and data collection; however, abilities in problem formulation, hypothesis structuring, data analysis, and summarizing are categorized as moderate among the students. The developed media for the PCR and Electrophoresis concepts help students understand these topics better, thereby enhancing their inquiry skills and digital literacy. Additionally, the media addresses the limitations of equipment and materials in modern biotechnology practicums.

Abstract

This article examines the conditionality and dispensation of child marriage in Aceh, focusing on the effectiveness of article 7(2) of Law Number 16 of 2019, as well as the considerations of Sharia Court judges when granting marriage dispensation. Using a juridico-empirical approach, the research gathers data through interviews and documentation analysis. The findings reveal that Law No. 16/2019 does not clearly define what constitutes a "very urgent reason" or the supporting evidence required. Judges decisions are based on juridical and sociological considerations, balancing legal certainty with social realities. However, the practice of granting dispensations for child marriage raises significant human rights concerns. These include the potential violation of children's rights to protection, education, and development, as child marriage often results in early pregnancy, limited educational opportunities, and increased vulnerability to exploitation and abuse. The study recommends that legislators and the government develop regulations or guidelines that clearly define "extremely urgent reasons," including specific indicators and criteria. This would enhance legal certainty and ensure consistent application of the law, thereby better safeguarding children's rights. This article underscores the importance of precise legal definitions and judicial discretion in implementing child marriage laws effectively, with the ultimate goal of safeguarding children's rights, promoting gender equality, and preventing human rights violations associated with child marriage.
