Abstract

Adolescence is a period that has a very unique development. Spirituality is core to the individual's process of becoming holistically healthy. This study aims to determine the relationship between spirituality, emotional awareness, and coping among adolescents in Yogyakarta. The research method used was correlational with a direct survey of 525 students aged 14-18 years at the high school level. The research instrument used was the Wellness Evaluation of Lifestyle inventory, which Naini (2013) adopted through back translation and adaptation to the Indonesian language and culture. The data analysis technique used is Pearson correlation. The research results show spirituality with emotional awareness and coping with a Pearson correlation of .325 and p = .000 (p<.05). This study concludes that there is a relationship between spirituality, emotional awareness, and coping in adolescents.

Abstract

This article describes optimizing virtual reality (VR) with a 360° beach video model used for mindfulness interventions. Using VR with 360° beach videos to support the presence of an immersive environment can effectively support mindfulness practices. Students are interested in the integration of technology in school counseling. VR helps in creating immersive environments such as forests, beaches, waterfalls, etc. so that students focus more on practicing mindfulness and attention in the current moment. This article focuses on optimizing 360° beach videos in the breathing mindfulness process so that it helps bring out real experiences. Obstacles to practicing mindfulness include lack of focus, mind wandering and not concentrating. through the use of 360° beach videos with VR can increase focus and be more effective in mindfulness practice.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the optimization of open-mindedness characteristics in enhancing students' critical thinking skills, in alignment with the achievement of the Profil Pelajar Pancasila (Pancasila Student Profile). Using a qualitative approach with a literature review methodology, the research identifies various theories and practices that link open-mindedness with critical thinking. The analysis reveals that open-mindedness, which includes openness to new ideas and diverse perspectives, plays a crucial role in developing critical thinking skills. Students with this characteristic tend to be better at evaluating arguments, considering multiple viewpoints, and making more informed decisions. Furthermore, this study highlights strategies for fostering open-mindedness within the educational context, particularly in guidance and counseling, such as group discussions, project-based learning, role-playing, simulation games, and the integration of technology-based tools like augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). The findings are expected to contribute to the development of a more effective and inclusive curriculum, supporting the achievement of national educational goals to produce a generation that is not only knowledgeable but also character-driven and competitive. This study recommends the need for training educators and counselors to apply methods that foster the development of open-mindedness among students..

Abstract

The students are urged to do something without expecting anything in return and only in the name of God. Every islamic student becomes something ideal if they can internalize and implement sincerity. Many people are willing to do something because of an ulterior motive. The importance of sincerity in humans is the background for developing a sincerity scale that measures personal sincerity. One of the figures who gave an example of sincere behavior was Kyai Haji (KH) Ahmad Dahlan, so the sincerity scale was adjusted to the character's sincere behavior. This scale consists of four indicators: having transcendental motives, the ability to control emotions, the absence of a sense of superiority, and being a servant of God. Two experts in Islamic psychometry tested KH Ahmad Dahlan's version of the sincerity scale. Besides that, construct validity involved 252 students. We employed Cohen's Kappa inter-rater reliability (IRR) coefficient and Rasch analysis as data analysis methods. The findings from Cohen's Kappa indicate that both experts concurred on the accuracy of the instrument's statement items. Additionally, the Rasch analysis reveals that the sincerity scale, based on KH Ahmad Dahlan’s version, is reliable, accurate, and fits well with the model.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis prevalensi kecemasan ujian siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama di Kabupaten Bantul. Subyek penelitian yang terlibat dalam studi ini sebanyak 316 siswa dengan teknik purposive sampling. Análisis data yang digunakan yakni análisis deskriptif. Hasil studi ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa SMP di kabupaten Bantul mengalami kecemasan ujian mayoritas pada kategori sedang. Ditinjau dari jenis kelamin, siswa perempuan memiliki kecemasan ujian kategori sedang lebih banyak daripada siswa laki-laki. Selain itu, siswa SMP yang tinggal di perkotaan menunjukkan kecemasan ujian lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang tinggal di perdesaan. Hasil studi ini diharapkan dapat berimplikasi pada dasar penyusunan dan pelaksanaan intervensi bimbingan dan konseling di sekolah

Abstract

Psikologi positif memfokuskan kajian pada upaya mengembangkan, menciptakan, dan menemukan situasi yang positif ke arah lingkungan yang mampu menciptakan kekuatan untuk individu itu sendiri. Konsep populer yang baru-baru ini dibahas dalam psikologi positif yaitu berkaitan dengan flourishing, yang menggambarkan kemampuan individu untuk berkembang secara optimal, berfungsi seutuhnya, merasakan kenyamanan dan kepuasan dalam menjalani kehidupan. Selain itu Flourishing dideskripsikan sebagai individu yang mampu memanfaatkan seluruh potensi yang dimilikinya demi suatu tujuan dan sangat menikmati perannya dalam menjalani proses tersebut. Flourishing sangat penting dimiliki oleh calon konselor dalam proses pemberian bantuan pada klien. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap 109 siswa bimbingan dan konseling yang berusia antara 17 hingga 25 tahun untuk mengetahui tingkat flourishing mereka sebagai calon konselor/helper. Penelitian ini menggunakan flourishing scale untuk pengumpulan data dan studi deskriptif untuk analisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 74% siswa berada pada kategori berkembang tinggi, 23% berada pada kategori sedang, dan hanya 3% yang berada pada kategori rendah. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa individu dengan tingkat flourishing yang tinggi lebih mampu menangani emosinya dan mengelola berbagai peristiwa kehidupan, sedangkan individu dengan tingkat flourishing rendah cenderung memiliki pandangan negatif terhadap kehidupan dan kesulitan mengelola emosinya.

Abstract

Developing a scale of interpersonal communication for Muslim students in Indonesia is very important because of the unique cultural and religious context that these students live in. Effective interpersonal communication is essential to fostering a supportive educational environment, improving peer relationships, and improving students' overall well-being. Currently there are no published research findings that specifically discuss measuring interpersonal communication among Muslim students in Indonesia. Therefore, this research aims to develop a valid and reliable Muslim Student Interpersonal Communication Scale (MSICS). MSICS was developed based on five aspects: openness, empathy, supportiveness, positivity, and equality. Content validity was assessed by two psychometric experts, and the results were analyzed using an inter-rater agreement model. Construct validity involved 432 Muslim junior high school students in Yogyakarta City, Indonesia, and the data was analyzed using the Rasch model. The results of the interrater agreement model analysis show that there is agreement between two psychometric experts regarding the acceptability of the statement items in the MSICS. Furthermore, the Rasch model analysis shows that the MSICS appears as a valid and reliable instrument for assessing the level of interpersonal communication among Muslim students in junior high schools in Indonesia with a variance explained by measures value of 26,7% (>20%), which means good enough to describe the measured data, and the reliability value is 0,91, which means very good. The results of this research can be used by counselors or guidance and counseling teachers to use MSICS as an instrument to measure Muslim students' interpersonal communication.

Abstract

Bunuh diri merupakan penyebab kematian kedua pada remaja usia 10–19 tahun di dunia, dengan kasus yang terus meningkat di Indonesia (WHO, 2018). Hampir 47% kasus bunuh diri dalam 10 tahun terakhir terjadi pada remaja. Gangguan psikosomatis akibat tekanan emosional dapat meningkatkan resiko munculnya ideasi bunuh diri. Penelitian ini menganalisis hubungan gangguan psikosomatis dan ideasi bunuh diri pada 608 pelajar SMA di Kabupaten Bantul menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional dengan purposive sampling. Instrumen PSQ-39 dan SIQ-15 digunakan dalam pengukuran pada penelitian ini. Hasil analisis menunjukkan hubungan yang signifikan (p < .05) dengan R² = 19,1%, yang berarti terdapat hubungan gangguan psikosomatis dan ideasi bunuh diri. Temuan penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling (BK) sebagai langkah pencegahan melalui skrining rutin, pendampingan psikologis, dan rujukan ke tenaga ahli guna mengurangi resiko bunuh diri di kalangan pelajar. Abstract

Tingginya ideasi bunuh diri di kalangan pelajar menuntut pemahaman faktor psikologis yang berkontribusi, khususnya ruminasi sebagai prediktor utama. Penelitian ini mengkaji pengaruh ruminasi terhadap ideasi bunuh diri pada pelajar SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Gunungkidul. Penelitian korelasional ini melibatkan 325 pelajar berusia 15-18 tahun dengan pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner Ruminative Response Scale (RRS) dan Suicidal Ideation Questionnaire (SIQ-15). Analisis data menggunakan regresi linier sederhana menunjukkan pengaruh signifikan ruminasi terhadap ideasi bunuh diri (p < 0.05) dengan koefisien korelasi r = 0,496 dan kontribusi R² sebesar 24,6%. Persamaan regresi Y = −14.167 + 0.671X dengan demikian, persamaan regresi ini dapat digunakan untuk memprediksi tingkat ideasi bunuh diri apabila variabel ruminasi diketahui. Nilai konstanta sebesar –14.167 menunjukkan nilai dasar ideasi bunuh diri ketika skor ruminasi adalah nol. Temuan ini menekankan pentingnya peran guru bimbingan dan konseling dalam deteksi dini ruminasi untuk pencegahan ideasi bunuh diri. Guru Bimbingan dan Konseling (BK) berperan dalam memberikan dukungan kesehatan mental pelajar. Layanan BK perlu diperkuat dalam pencegahan ideasi bunuh diri melalui deteksi dan intervensi untuk mengatasi ruminasi, guna menciptakan sekolah yang lebih responsif terhadap kesehatan mental pelajar.
