Abstract

Exploration of microorganisms containing secondary metabolite compounds with antimicrobial properties, especially in marine fish pathogenic bacteria, is urgently required. This study aims to test the antibacterial effectiveness of endophytic fungal extracts from the mangrove plant Rhizopora apiculata in the Petengoran Mangrove Forest against pathogenic bacteria in marine fish such as V. alginolyticus and P. damselae spp. The endophytic fungal isolate found was a fungus from the genus Aspergillus sp after observing its morphological form macroscopically and microscopically. Ethyl acetate extract of mangrove endophytic fungi with a concentration of 500 µg/disc and 1000 µg/disc was dripped onto a 6mm paper disc and then placed on the pathogenic bacterial isolate. Measurement of the diameter of the clear zone produced around the paper disc after 24 hours concluded that the antibacterial effectiveness of the endophytic fungal extract against V. alginolyticus was 27.27% (500 µg/disc) and 32.32% (1000 µg/disc). Meanwhile, its effectiveness against P. damselae spp is 27.27% (500 µg/disc) and 34.82% (1000 µg/disc). The isolate extract from the endophytic fungus Aspergillus in this study has the potential to produce antibacterial compounds in marine fish pathogens.

Abstract

Abstract

The distribution of subsidized fuel for fishermen is largely determined by government regulations and policies. A well-implemented distribution institution ensures that subsidized fuel reaches fishermen appropriately. This study aims to analyze the institutionalization of subsidized fuel for fishermen in Kangkung Village, Bumi Waras District, Bandar Lampung City. The approach used is a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection through in-depth interviews, participatory observation and documentation studies. Data processing is carried out to analyze the institutionalization of subsidized fuel distribution for fishermen. The results of the study indicate that fishermen who use diesel fuel obtain subsidized diesel fuel at fishermen's fuel station according to the provisions set by the Downstream Regulatory Agency Committee Oil and Fuel. Not all fishermen can meet the required provisions. This causes there are still fishermen who cannot access subsidized diesel fuel for their business needs. Fishermen who use Pertalite also cannot freely access subsidized pertalite at the fuel station due to less supportive institutional governance. Thus, it is still necessary for the government to improve regulations so that distribution is more effective and controlled, so that subsidized fuel can be accessed evenly by small fishermen.

Abstract

The low sustainability of participation in the Fishermen’s Insurance Premium Assistance program shows that there is an Institution issue. The research intents to analyze the institution of the fishermen’s insurance program in Bandar Lampung City. This study used the case study method as a qualitative approach. Data were obtained by in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. Analysis is used to describe institutions based on situation, structure, behavior, and performance. The results of the study show that the efforts of the insurance program in Bandar Lampung City to protect fishermen have not been achieved in the second year. This occurred because the insurance participants did not pay the premium independently or at personal expense. The fishermen are not interested in participating in insurance, in spite of the premium cost being economical. Institutions are included in the BPAN program, which plays an important role in determining the continuation of fishermen’s insurance participation. The government should consider the punishment and agreements that must be submissive by fishermen to become effective regulation. In addition, the Social Security Administrator for Employment, as an insurance provider, must accommodate the simple insurance premium payments for fishermen.

Abstract

Changes in the area and density of mangroves have a major impact on the sustainability of ecosystem functions in coastal areas. This study aims to analyze changes in the area and density of mangroves in Serang City, Banten. The method used is remote sensing through interpretation of Landsat 5 and Landsat 8 images with analysis of changes in the area and density of mangroves in 2011 and 2021. The research procedure was carried out by grouping NDVI values into 3 vegetation classes: sparse, moderate, and dense. Furthermore, a ground check was carried out to test the level of data accuracy against mangrove canopy cover using the hemispherical photography method. The results showed that the level of image accuracy in 2021 was 90%. Based on this analysis, it is known that there has been a decrease in the area and changes in mangrove density in Sawah Luhur Village, while in Banten Village it has increased. In general, in the coastal area of Serang City, there was a decrease in the mangrove area between 2011-2021 which reached 13.95 ha with the main decrease occurring in mangroves with sparse vegetation class (33.14 ha). In contrast, mangroves with medium and dense density categories increased to 19.19 ha. The decrease in mangrove area was due to abrasion, conversion into ponds, and illegal logging. The results of the analysis also showed that the correlation between NDVI values and the percentage of canopy cover had a value of 0.696 which was included in the strong category.
