Abstract

Bahasa Indonesia, as a key subject in elementary school, plays a vital role in developing students’ literacy skills, especially reading comprehension. However, slow learner students often struggle to grasp lesson content due to cognitive limitations. This study aimed to develop an educational video based on the “Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL)” approach that is valid, practical, and effective in improving reading comprehension among slow learners in Bahasa Indonesia learning. The study was conducted at SD Negeri 1 Melayu with 10 slow learner students. The research employed the “Research and Development (R&D)” method using the Borg and Gall model, comprising six stages: “potential and problems, data collection, product design, product validation, design revision, and product testing”. Validation results showed an average score of 85% from media experts and 84.62% from content experts, indicating the media is highly feasible. Practicality tests revealed very positive responses from teachers (100%) and students (93.33%), classifying the media as very practical. Effectiveness tests demonstrated an increase in learning outcomes, with the average pre-test score rising from 40.25 to 73.5 in the post-test. Therefore, the TaRL-based educational video is proven to be a valid, practical, and effective tool in enhancing the reading comprehension skills of slow learner students in Bahasa Indonesia learning.

Abstract

Teachers have very important responsibilities in their role as educators in schools. Achieving quality learning goals requires continuous improvement of teacher competence as time goes by. This writing aims to discuss and understand the challenges of developing teacher competency in learning in the contemporary era. This research uses qualitative methods in the form of a literature study, with a descriptive approach. Data was collected through references from books and literature related to the challenges of developing teacher competency in learning in the contemporary era. The research results show that teacher competency is the ability possessed by teachers and includes aspects such as knowledge, skills, thought processes, personal adaptation, attitudes and values that they apply in teaching practice. There are four abilities that teachers need: educational abilities, personality abilities, social abilities, and professional abilities. In addition, teacher skills development faces various challenges, including legislative, socio-cultural, technological and political challenges.

Abstract

The phenomenon of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), or the fear of missing out on certain trends, events, or social experiences, has become a common psychological symptom in the digital age. The constant anxiety to participate in the lives of others as portrayed on social media often causes restlessness, dissatisfaction, and even identity crises. The Qur’an, as a guide for Muslims, provides many verses that can be used as references to overcome such anxiety, especially through the concepts of peace of mind (sakīnah) and simplicity of life (qanā‘ah). This study aims to explore how the Qur’an offers a perspective on FOMO by analyzing verses related to inner peace and simplicity in life, in overcoming FOMO, such as Q.S. Al-Baqarah [2]: 155, Q.S. An-Nisā’ [4]: 32, Q.S. An-Nisā’ [4]: 83, and Q.S. Al-Ḥadīd [57]: 20. This study uses a library research-based method with a thematic (mawḍū‘ī) approach, which organizes and analyzes verses of the Qur’an based on theme. The main sources are the Qur’an and Tafsīr al-Taḥrīr wa al-Tanwīr by Ibn ‘Āshūr (1879–1973), a prominent Tunisian scholar known for his contextual tafsir methodology, supplemented by contemporary psychological studies. The findings show that the Qur’an promotes tranquility through faith in Allah, dependence (tawakkul), contentment (qanā‘ah), and awareness of the temporary nature of worldly life. These teachings provide a spiritual framework for combating FOMO by fostering self-awareness and a deeper meaning of life. Therefore, the values of the Qur’an can be considered a spiritual remedy for modern social anxieties such as FOMO.

Abstract

Periodontitis is one of periodontal disease that the main cause is bacteria, especially Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans (AA). One of the treatments for these conditions can be done with subgingival irrigation using Gambir catechin (Uncaria gambir [Hunter] Roxb). Catechins are polyphenolic compounds and have antibacterial effects. Based on its advantages, a cathecin effect may decrease the amount of AA in periodontitis and help the healing. The aim of this study was to know the effect of subgingival irrigation of the Gambir catechin to the amount of AA in periodontitis mice. Twelve mice, 3 months age, 200-250 gr in weight, with the anterior gingival sling with yarn was made for periodontitis condition. The mice were divided into four groups treatment: Treatment with aquadest, Gambir catechin I, Gambir catechin II, and chlorhexidine 0.2%. Subgingival irrigation performed after visible signs of periodontitis with 2 times daily for seven days. AA retrieval was done using paper points inserted in the gingival sulcus and grown in BHI agar with bacitracin 5 units/ml (modification). The number of AA was then counting with colony counters. Study result showed a significant difference (p <0.05) between aquadest treatment group with Gambir catechin I, Gambir catechin II, and chlorhexidine 0.2%. But there was no significant difference between Gambir catechin I and II. The conclusion of this study indicated that subgingival irrigation of Gambir catechin I and II could decrease the amount of AA but there was no statistical difference between the two groups. This means that Gambir catechin in solutions and effervescent didn't affect the activity of a substance in it. It was shown that catechins can be used as an alternative to the condition of periodontitis.

Abstract

Seorang guru yang menunjukkan tingkat profesionalisme adalah mereka yang mampu merencanakan pembelajaran, mengajar, mengevaluasi pembelajaran, dan berkomitmen untuk terus meningkatkan kualifikasinya. Salah satu metode untuk meningkatkan kemampuan sumber daya manusia adalah melalui proses pembelajaran yang terjadi di lingkungan sekolah. Orientasi supervisi adalah konsep kunci dalam memahami cara pengawasan dan bimbingan dilakukan di berbagai konteks pendidikan dan organisasi. Studi ini mengeksplorasi peran dan implikasi orientasi pelaksanaan supervisi dalam meningkatkan efektivitas proses pengawasan dan perkembangan guru dalam suatu lingkungan kerja. Metode penelitian melibatkan tinjauan literatur mendalam serta analisis data dari berbagai sumber yang relevan. Hasil penelitian ini mengidentifikasi berbagai orientasi pelaksanaan supervisi, serta mendalami pengembangan orientasi atau orientasi yang diberikan kepada pelaksana supervisi. Penelitian ini memiliki relevansi yang signifikan dalam konteks saat ini di mana kebutuhan untuk meningkatkan efektivitas supervisi semakin mendesak. Dengan pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang orientasi pelaksana supervisi, organisasi dapat mengoptimalkan penggunaan sumber daya mereka dan mencapai tujuan mereka secara lebih efisien.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the determination of the work environment, competence, communication on work commitment and job satisfaction as intervening variables. The hypothesis proposed that Work Environment determines Job Satisfaction, Competence determines Job Satisfaction, Communication determines Job Satisfaction, Work Environment determines Work Commitment, Competence determines Work Commitment, Communication determines Work Commitment, Job Satisfaction determines Work Commitment, Work Environment determines Work Commitment through Job Satisfaction, Competence determines work commitment through job satisfaction, communication determines work commitment through job satisfaction. The sample in this study were all employees of the Riau Islands Province Health Service with the status of ASN. The number of samples used is 119 respondents. The data obtained were analyzed using data analysis techniques with the help of AMOS 24.0 software. The results of the study show that the work environment determines job satisfaction. CR value of 3.035 > 2,000 and Probability = 0.002 < 0.05, indicating that the positive determination is significant. Competence on Job Satisfaction CR value of 3,641 > 2,000 and Probability = ***<0.05, indicating that the positive determination is significant. Communication on Job Satisfaction Value of CR = 2.330 > 2,000 and Probability = 0.02 <0.05 indicates that the positive determination is significant. Work Environment on Work Commitment Value of CR -0.144 < 2,000 and Probability 0.886 > 0.05 indicates that the positive determination is not significant. Competence on Work Commitment. CR value 0.190 < 2, 000 and Probability = 0.849 > 0.05 indicates that the positive determination is not significant. Abstract

Gingivitis disebabkan oleh akumulasi plak yang juga dapat mengakibatkan pH saliva menjadi relatif asam.Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan pH saliva adalah berkumur dengan obat kumur. Obat kumur alami yang dapat digunakan salah satunya adalah α-mangostin 0,5%. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan antara efek obat kumur α-mangostin 0,5% dan klorhexidin 0,2% terhadap pH saliva pada penderita gingivitis, jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimental semu. Rancangan penelitian adalah pretest-posttest study, populasi adalah penderita gingivitis di Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi Universitas Baiturrahmah dalam 2 kelompok dengan masing-masng kelompok terdiri dari 16 sampel. Analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah uji Wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan sebelum dan sesudah berkumur dengan obat kumur α-mangostin 0,5% dan klorheksidin 0,2% dengan value=0,001<0,05.

Abstract

The rapid growth of technology has significantly impacted various fields, especially field of education. In this case, technology can be used to create fun, interactive, digital learning media or teaching aids that are aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum. In this curriculum, Bahasa Indonesia learning requires students to understand fictional texts in order to comprehend, identify ideas, and interpret information from the texts they read or listened to. Based on analysis and observation at SDN Pancoran 07 South Jakarta, there is a need for make learning media to help students understand and interpret information from reading materials. Therefore, a digital comic with voiceover in Indonesian was developed on the topic of “Pertukaran dan Pembayaran” , using the ADDIE development model adjusted to its five stages. The goal of developing this digital comic media is to improve reading comprehension skills for 4th-grade students. The results of the research show that using the digital comic media has led to an improvement in reading comprehension, which can be seen from the pre-test and post-test results conducted in each class. Specifically, in the media field test, an improvement of 63.5% was observed.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan kecerdasan emosional dan hasil belajar dengan kualitas komunikasi mahasiswa Fakultas Ekonomi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional dan analisis regresi linear berganda. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Fakultas Ekonomi, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode yang disesuaikan dengan jumlah responden penelitian. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui penyebaran angket untuk mengukur kecerdasan emosional dan kualitas komunikasi, serta dokumentasi nilai untuk mengukur hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kecerdasan emosional berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kualitas komunikasi mahasiswa dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000. Hasil belajar juga berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kualitas komunikasi dengan nilai signifikansi 0,002. Secara simultan, kecerdasan emosional dan hasil belajar berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kualitas komunikasi mahasiswa dengan nilai F sebesar 11,664 dan signifikansi 0,000. Nilai koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,828 menunjukkan bahwa 82,8% variasi kualitas komunikasi dapat dijelaskan oleh kedua variabel tersebut, sedangkan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar penelitian. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kecerdasan emosional dan hasil belajar memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dengan kualitas komunikasi mahasiswa Fakultas Ekonomi, dengan kecerdasan emosional sebagai variabel yang paling dominan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pentingnya pengembangan kecerdasan emosional dalam proses pembelajaran guna meningkatkan kualitas komunikasi mahasiswa.
