Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengungkap peran kegiatan ekstrakurikuler Pramuka dalam pembentukan karakter tanggung jawab, metode-metode yang digunakan dalam pembentukan karakter tanggung jawab, dan faktor-faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam pembentukan karakter tanggung jawab peserta didik di SMP Negeri 2 Windusari Magelang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Kebenaran dan keabsahan data dalam penelitan ini ditetapkan menggunakan teknik triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran kegiatan ekstrakurikuler Pramuka dalam pembentukan karakter tanggung jawab merupakan sarana yang tepat untuk membentuk karakter tanggung jawab peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan untuk membentuk karakter tanggung jawab adalah pemberian nasihat, pemberian sanksi dan pemberian penghargaan, keteladanan Pembina Pramuka, pemberian tugas, dan pencapaian SKU dan SKK. Faktor-faktor pendukungnya adalah sikap, pengetahuan, dan pengalaman yang dimiliki oleh Pembina Pramuka, kesadaran dan motivasi diri peserta didik, dana, sarana dan prasarana, dukungan dari orang tua, dan masyarakat sekitar, sedangkan faktor penghambatnya adalah kurangnya minat peserta didik dan faktor cuaca. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkapkan peran guru sebagai teladan dalam pengembangan karakter peserta didik dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pengembangan karakter peserta didik di SMPN 2 Depok, Sleman. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang subjek penelitiannya adalah kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah, guru Pendidikan Agama, guru PPKn, guru Bimbingan Konseling, wali kelas, peserta didik, dan ketua komite di SMPN 2 Depok, Sleman. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan model interaktif dari Miles Huberman yang meliputi langkah-langkah: reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran guru sebagai teladan ditunjukkan oleh tutur kata, sikap,  dan kepribadiannya, seperti sopan santun, disiplin, tanggung jawab, toleransi, jujur, serta kepedulian terhadap peserta didik dan orang lain. Faktor yang mendukung  pengembangan karakter peserta didik yaitu adanya komitmen warga sekolah, standar isi kurikulum, kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, kebersamaan. Faktor penghambat pengembangan karakter peserta didik meliputi terbatasnya sumber dana, kurangnya kepedulian orang tua, dan sikap apatis dari beberapa guru dan peserta didik.Kata Kunci: peran guru, keteladanan guru, peserta didik yang berkarakterTHE ROLE OF TEACHERS IN DEVELOPMENT OF THE CHARACTER STUDENTS OF STATE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL 2 DEPOK SLEMAN                                      Abstract: This study aims to reveal the role of teachers as example with in development of the character studets and the factors that influence development of character students of State Junior High School (SMPN) 2 Depok, Sleman. This study used the descriptive qualitative approach. The  subjects were the headmaster, headmaster deputies, teachers, studeats, and chairman of the committee of SMPN 2 Depok, Sleman. Techniques used to collect data were interview, observation, and documentation. The data analysis used interactive model of Miles Huberman, following the steps of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawings. The results of the research show the following the role of  teachers as example must be demonstrated through speech, attitude, and personality, like courtesy, discipline, responsibility, tolerance, honesty, and concern for students and others. The factors that support development of character students include their commitment to the school community, the curriculum standard content, headmaster leadership, and togetherness. The factors that inhibit the development of character students include the limited financial resources, lack of awareness of parents, and in different attitude of some teachers and students.Keywords: the role of teacher, exemplary teacher, students with noble character

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan dan mendeskripsikan berbagai bentuk pembinaan karakter siswa melalui kegiatan kepramukaan di MAN 1 Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini juga mengkaji berbagai hambatan yang muncul dalam rangka pembinaan karakter siswa MAN 1 Yogyakarta serta upaya-upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengatasinya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Penentuan subjek penelitian dengan teknik purposive. Teknik pengumpulan datanya adalah observasi partisipatif, wawancara,dan dokumentasi. Sedang teknik analisis datanya adalah teknik analisis induktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembentukan karakter melalui kegiatan kepramukaan di MAN 1 Yogyakarta dilakukan melalui peran pembina pramuka sebagai mitra atau pembimbing, memberikan dukungan dan memfasilitasi siswa dengan kegiatan yang modern, menarik, dan menantang. Metodenya antara lain: pengamalan kode kehormatan pramuka pada setiap kegiatan; kegiatan belajar sambil melakukan, berkelompok, bekerja sama, dan berkompetisi; kegiatan di alam terbuka seperti perkemahan; penghargaan berupa tanda kecakapan bantara dan laksana; sertasatuan terpisah ambalan putra dan putri. Hambatan yang muncul antara lain adalah kurangnya perhatian guru terhadap masalah pramuka danbanyaknya siswa yang tidak suka mengikuti kegiatan kepramukaan. Upaya untuk mengatasinya dengan mengajak para guru ikhlas melakukannya dan menciptakan kegiatan yang menarik dan menantang siswa. Kata Kunci: pembentukan karakter, siswa, kegiatan kepramukaan STUDENTS’ CHARACTER SHAPING THROUGH SCOUTING ACTIVITIES AT MAN 1 YOGYAKARTA Abstract: This research aimed to find and describe various forms of students’ character nurturing through scouting activities at MAN 1 Yogyakarta. This research also studied a number of constraints emerging within the nurturance of the students’ character and efforts made to overcome the constraints. This was a descriptive research study employing a qualitative approach. The subjects were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The data were collected through participatory observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were then analyzed using an inductive analysis technique. The results showed that character shaping through scouting activities at MAN 1 Yogyakarta by maximizing the roles of the scout nurturers as partners or supervisors, gave supports and facilitated students with modern, interesting, and challenging activities. Among the methods used were: the implementation of scouting codes of respects in every activity; learning activities through doing, working in groups, cooperating, and competing; activities in the open air such as camping; rewards in the forms of capacity symbols such as bantara and laksana; and separate units of ambalan for males and females. The constraints emerging were, among others, a lack of teachers’ attention to the scouting issues and the great number of students who did not like to join scouting activities. The solution was through inviting all the teachers to willingly contribute to the scouting activities and creating interesting and challenging activities for the students. Abstract: Noble Character Culture Building Among Students of Yogyakarta StateUniversity Through PAI Learning. This study aims to reveal problems in PAIlearning in Yogyakarta State University and its role in building students noblecharacter. This study was a qualitative study. The data were obtained throughinterviews, questionnaires, and documents and were analyzed using qualitativeanalysis techniques with the inductive approach. The results show that PAIlearning has an important role in building students noble character if supported bycompetent lecturers, good inputs, adequate materials, and good processes.Conversely, if such supports are not available, the goal will be difficult to attain.Among the problems are diverse student abilities, students less attention tocharacter, the emphasis of PAI learning materials on cognitive aspects, anddifficulty in controlling students outside the class.Keywords: culture building, noble character, PAI learning

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi sumber-sumber nilai-nilai karakter kewargaan multikultural yang menjadi basis nilai pembinaan karakter kewargaan multikultur dan menyajikan model pembinaan karakter kewargaan multikultur dalam program kurikuler berdasar identifikasi kebutuhan di Madrasah Aliyah di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi dokumentasi, focus group disscussion bersama para guru dalam MGMP PKN MA se-Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, dan observasi pelaksanaan pembentukan karakter kewargaan multikultural di sekolah sampel. Guru yang terlibat berjumlah 30 orang dari 21 sekolah. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa dokumentasi rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran, panduan observasi, dan panduan FGD, sedang analisis data dilakukan dengan teknik deskripsi kualitatif. Hasil penelitian memaparkan pembentukan karakter kewargaan multikultural di MA dan upaya mengharmonikan identitas Islam dan kebangsaan di MA. Penguatan integrasi nilai-nilai Islam dan kebangsaan ke dalam wajah multikultural pendidikan Islam Indonesia modern perlu dielaborasi lebih lanjut. Kata kunci: pendidikan karakter, kewargaan multikultural, kurikulum, madrasah aliyah, IslamCHARACTER BUILDING FOR MULTICULTURAL CITIZENSHIP WITHIN THE CURRICULAR PROGRAMS IN MADRASAH ALIYAH, YOGYAKARTA Abstract: This study was aimed to identify the sources for multicultural citizenship character values which became the basis for multicultural citizenship character building. This study also presented a model of multicultural citizenship character building in the curricular program based on the identification of the needs in Madrasah Aliyah in Yogyakarta. The study used the documentation study, a focus group discussion with teachers in the association of civic teachers of Madrasah Aliyah in Yogyakarta, and observations of the implementation of the multicultural citizenship character building in the sample school. There were 30 teachers from 21 schools involved. The instruments uesd were in the form of the lesson plans, observation guidelines, and focus group discussion guidelines. The data were analyzed using the qualitative descriptive analysis. The findings showed the multicultural citizenship character building in Madrasah Aliyah and the efforts to harmonize the Islamic and nationalism identities in Madrasah Aliyah. The integration of the Islamic and nationalism values into the modern Indonesian Islamic education needed to be elaborated further. Abstract

The inter-religious harmony should be done among the pluralistic society like Indonesia.Several ways can be made for building inter-religious harmony. The raising consciousness toappreciate religious freedom from adherents of a religion to others is a key for building thisharmony. To make the consciousness grows can be made with several ways, among them isreligious study method both by normative-theological approach and critical-empiricalapproach.The religious education in university, especially in public university, is one of mediumcan be made to do religious study for building inter-religious harmony. The religious educationcan be done by exclusive particularistic way for each adherent of a religion for martering hisreligious principles in depth. For building inter-religious harmony, the religious education willbe more effectively if it be done by pluralistic way, by participating all of the students fromseveral adherents of a religion to attend the study of religions. They are given thecomprehensive understanding to religions, especially about the equality, until they haveconsciousness to appreciate another religion with available.

Abstract

Di kalangsn para orientalis, Islamisis, dan para juris Muslimtradisionalis terdapat suatu pendapat yang mengatakan bahwa hukumIslam itu bersifat statis, kaku, dan tidak dapat berkembang seiringdengan perubahan situasi dan kondisi yang serba dinamis.Pendapat seperti itu ternyata tidaklah benar. Ini bisa dilihat darikeberadaan hukum Islam itu sendiri, yang sebenarnya ada yang disebutsyari'ah (Indcnesia: syariat) dan ada yang disebutfiqh (Indonesia: fikih).Hukum Islam dalam kategori fikih itulah yang selalu dinamis. Kedinamisanhukum Islam itu terutama ditunjang oleh prinsip-prinsip yangdigunakan dalam metodologi hukum Islam (Ushul al-Fiqh), seperti ijina',q bas, istihan, mashlahuh rnursalah, dan prinsip-prinsip lainnya.Sejarah telah membuktiikan bahwa pe jalanan hukum Islam sejakzaman Nabi Muhammad hingga sekarang ini sarat dengan dinamisasi.Muncul.nya para imam mazhab besar dengan karya-karya fikih merekamerupakap titik awal munculnya dinamisasi hukum Islam tersebut. Apayang telafi dirintis oleh para imam mazhab besar ini ternyata masihberlanjut dan berkembang hingga sekarang.

Abstract

The study is aimed at identifying models of character building of elementary and junior secondary school students based on religious education in the province of Yogyakarta. The study is a research and development (R D) designed in three stages. In the first stage (2010) the study was a survey in 20 elementary and junior secondary schools in Yogyakarta. The data were collected by observation, interviews, focus group discussions, and documentation. The cross-check technique was used for data validity The data were analysed by the inductive analysis technique. The results showed: 1) A special model was not found yet in character building based on religious education in the elementary and junior secondary schools in Yogyakarta. Character building developed in the elementary and junior high schools was still one that was general, 2) A model should be developed for character building in school based on religious education to make religious education as a major base for developing students characters. Religious education should actually teach religious attitudes and behaviors. Another important aspect to be considered in the framework of an effective character building in schools is the vision, mission, and goals for the school, and togetherness. There are programs that are clear and detailed, involving all subjects and all teachers. There are support facilities and special teams for the character building programs

Abstract

This descriptive study aims to discuss to what extent the teachers utilize ICT in teaching and learning activities, as teaching media and learning resources as well as the obstacles faced by teachers while utilizing ICT. The population of this study was the teachers of SMK Dar El Hikmah Boarding School selected by using total sampling technique (n: 20). Data were gathered by distributing a set of a questionnaire designed in the form of five points of the Likert scale. The data were analysed using Microsoft Excel 2010. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded the utilization of ICT in teaching and learning activities, in general, was in a high-level category, with a mean of 3.6. Specifically, the utilization of ICT in teaching and learning process was in high category level, and the utilization of ICT as teaching media and learning resources was in mediocre category level, with the mean score of 3.18. Obstacles related to the availability of facilities and infrastructures were faced by the teachers and some suggestions to overcome the problems are given in this research.
